I'm sick of this politically correct nonsense and in this case it's all over a pathetic street name, that's how monolithic and petty these people are. They seriously want to stomp out any sort of opposition to their ways despite some of the obscure natures of said opposition.

Believe it or not, the american people as a whole are sick of all of this stuff overseas as the job market has been crumbling in the homeland and there's literally very few middle class jobs left for those that have been left on the margins of entitlement programs and such. Those who were locked in to decent work are doing fine but there are so many that aren't and they're starting to see the downward spiral that america has become because the govt has grown too large and is stifling anything new to provide relief to hard working folks. I live here and can see the decline as I drive down the road and see whose serving up orders at fast food joints and it's not always young people these days. Or, the people working at the big box stores trying to raise a family on less than $12 an hr. It's really sad to see america going down like this. And I mean the formerly middle class not the bullcrap in washington dc, even tho they're to blame.

Will George Stephanopoulos be driven out over Clinton Foundation donations?

With word emerging today that ABC News chief anchor George Stephanopoulos gave “$50,001 to $100,000” to the Clinton Foundation, the network will soon face the Brian Williams Quandary — is its top “newsman” trustworthy when delivering news.

Stephanopoulos only disclosed the donations to the nonprofit when asked about them by a reporter from the Free Beacon (choosing to control the story through a statement to friendly liberal outlet, Politico).

In dozens and dozens of stories and interviews on the Clintons, the chief anchor never mentioned his hefty gifts. In fact, he fiercely questioned author Peter Schweizer last month about his book “Clinton Cash,” making unilateral statements that the book was hogwash.

“As you know, the Clinton campaign says you haven’t produced a shred of evidence that there was any official action as secretary that supported the interest of donors,” Stephanopoulos said. “We’ve done investigative work here at ABC News, found no proof of any kind of direct action. And an independent government ethics expert at the Sunlight Foundation Bill Allison wrote this: ‘There’s no smoking gun. No evidence that the changed policy is based on donations to the foundation. No smoking gun.’ Is there a smoking gun?”

This all over the news here in the states and it just goes to show that this guy is a hatchetman for the Clintons for decades and lately he's been acting as a journalist on ABC. This fucker is a weasel of the worst kind and totally meshes quite well in the Clinton world. This also makes a mockery out of ABC as being a legitimate news service anymore.

While I understand the concerns the OP has, there just isn't an easier way to get bitcoins besides grabbing them from coinbase. I'm not into sending money to some exchange and all that crap. That said, I don't mind trading on these exchanges w/ some play coins.

Unless discounts are commonplace for using bitcoin then no one besides us will want them. So, price does matter as more people will want these coins if they're increasing over time.

Military Paying Landowners to Accommodate Jade Helm, Says Mayor

BIG SPRING - Military officials have negotiated contracts with local ranchers to conduct Jade Helm training on their property, according to Big Spring Mayor Larry McLellan.

However, he said residents will not be "forced out of their homes" to accommodate troops during the large-scale military exercise, scheduled to run July 15 through September 15.

McLellan had no details about the contracts supposedly offered to Big Spring homeowners. Military officials were not available to answer questions about how many ranchers were being displaced or inconvenienced due to Jade Helm, and how much they would receive in compensation.

Jade Helm operations planners previously confirmed training will only be conducted on private and public land with the permission of landowners or regional authorities.

One lifelong Big Spring resident told NewsWest 9 he would not accept any amount of money to surrender his home to troops.

"I support our troops, but when they're trying to take over our civilians, that ain't cool," he said. "[Those are] their homes. That's where they live."

College Student to Jeb Bush: ‘Your Brother Created ISIS’

RENO, Nev. — “Your brother created ISIS,” the young woman told Jeb Bush. And with that, Ivy Ziedrich, a 19-year-old college student, created the kind of confrontational moment here on Wednesday morning that presidential candidates dread.

Mr. Bush, the former governor of Florida, had just concluded a town-hall-style meeting when Ms. Ziedrich demanded to be heard. “Governor Bush,” she shouted as audience members asked him for his autograph. “Would you take a student question?”

Mr. Bush whirled around and looked at Ms. Ziedrich, who identified herself as a political science major and a college Democrat at the University of Nevada.

She had heard Mr. Bush argue, a few moments before, that America’s retreat from the Middle East under President Obama had contributed to the growing power of the Islamic State. She told the former governor that he was wrong, and made the case that blame lay with the decision by the administration of his brother George W. Bush to disband the Iraqi Army.

“It was when 30,000 individuals who were part of the Iraqi military were forced out — they had no employment, they had no income, and they were left with access to all of the same arms and weapons,” Ms. Ziedrich said.

She added: “Your brother created ISIS.”

John Bolton will not run for president

Former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton said Thursday that he will not run for president in 2016, pledging he would nevertheless ensure those who do focus on his top issue: national security.

Bolton is a longtime Republican foreign policy hand who was considered a significant long-shot in the GOP field.

"While I'm not a candidate, I am certainly not going to sit this election out," Bolton said in a video to his supporters. "I'm also going to focus on the 2016 presidential race, to make certain that foreign policy is critical to winning the nomination."

The mustachioed neoconservative diplomat said he began to consider a presidential run in order to push national security to the top of the Republican agenda. With much of the early presidential debate centering on how potential candidates would tackle foreign policy challenges, Bolton said he believed his mission has been accomplished.

Bolton barely registered in national opinion polls and has never before held elective office.

Marco Rubio: A Demographic on Steroids

Senator Marco Rubio spoke for the Council on Foreign Relations yesterday, staking out his position as the GOP super hawk, announcing that he would not be afraid to go to war. Presumably, he will have to compete with Senator Lindsey Graham for that role. And they both will have to find a suitable target.

Recent polls show him climbing. A Quinnipiac Poll has him tied with Rand Paul for second place in Iowa, behind Scott Walker. And a recent Bloomberg poll has him second only to Rand Paul in New Hampshire.

He is a fascinating candidate popular with the media. I call him a “demographic on steroids.”

First, he is Hispanic and that is the wave of the future for this country.

Second, he is from Florida, a key battleground, must win, state for any Republican.

Third, he is a Roman Catholic, with an LDS heritage, who regularly attends a Baptist church. Believe me, that is a highly evolved creature perfectly fitted for a modern, GOP primary process in an age of the Fox News Channel.

And finally, although he is young, he is the insider, big business, Wall Street, money alternative to Jeb Bush. In fact, Rubio’s people are right now telling donors that a dollar given to Jeb Bush is a dollar given to Hillary Clinton since Bush will never win a head to head contest with her. The national media and major corporations will never allow three of the last five presidents to come from the same immediate family. Bush, we are told, is only insurance in case Hillary slips.

These above are the four major positives of a Marco Rubio candidacy. But he has one major negative.

Marco Rubio, like most of the other candidates in this race, has no raison d’etre. There is no purpose in his candidacy other than naked ambition. For too many candidates in this race it is all about them and not the voter. Hillary Clinton says, “Vote for me I am a woman.” Marco Rubio says, “Vote for me I am Hispanic.” Even Scott Walker’s argument says nothing about what he would do. Walker says, “Vote for me I am a governor. I know how to be an administrator.” It is meant to contrast the ineptitude of the current president.
...
This may be why Senator Rand Paul is now leading these early swing state and battleground state polls. He is a fount of ideas. Young people have a reason to vote for him. African Americans have a reason to vote for him. Born again Christians have a reason to vote for him. Waitresses have a reason to vote for him. He doesn’t just raise the defense budget, he shows how he will do it while balancing the budget.

Judge Andrew Napolitano: Rand Paul Versus Ted Cruz on the Fourth Amendment

A decision last week about NSA spying by a panel of judges on the United States Court of Appeals in New York City sent shock waves through the government. The court ruled that a section of the Patriot Act that is due to expire at the end of this month and on which the government has relied as a basis for its bulk acquisition of telephone data in the past 14 years does not authorize that acquisition. This may sound like legal mumbo jumbo, but it goes to the heart of the relationship between the people and their government in a free society. Here is the backstory and the latest.

The Patriot Act is the centerpiece of the federal government's false claims that by surrendering our personal liberties to it, it can somehow keep us safe. The liberty-for-safety offer has been around for millennia and was poignant at the time of the founding of the American republic. The Framers addressed it in the Constitution itself, where they recognized the primacy of the right to privacy and insured against its violation by the government by intentionally forcing it to jump through some difficult hoops before it can capture our thoughts, words, or private behavior.

Interview: Rand Paul tees off on Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio

Rand Paul ramped up his criticism of Jeb Bush’s remarks on Iraq, rebuking the former Florida governor Wednesday for an “incredibly fumbled answer” over the 2003 military invasion. He then took a swing at Marco Rubio for being on the “wrong side of history” by supporting foreign aid.

“If any Republican nominee wants to run on the idea that borrowing money and printing it up and sending it to foreign countries that often hate us and burn our flag and think it’s a good idea, feel free to run on that issue,” Paul said in an interview with POLITICO. “But it’s not really popular with the people.”

With foreign policy beginning to dominate the GOP race for the White House, the Kentucky Republican is taking a more aggressive line, hoping to raise questions over the judgment of his rivals at a time when many voters are uncertain about his anti-interventionist views.

Despite accusations from some in the party establishment that Paul is an isolationist, the 52-year-old senator is betting that rank-and-file GOP voters will widely endorse his calls for a smaller U.S. footprint worldwide. And he’s weighing whether to make an even bigger splash next week by attempting to mount a talking filibuster to prevent Congress from extending the controversial PATRIOT Act, a key priority for leading GOP hawks.

One might say she can/will send it back better than you can dish it.

Superiority was never my strength.

Besides, I didn't know I was dishing anything, it was more a case of awe. But if it offends I can take it away.

Women expect dudes to be decisive and not to second guess themselves (said the cougar I dated a few yrs back). Just be a boss and call the shots but don't take no crap. The younger chicks will shell out crap and that's your battleground. There's not much of a neutral ground here based upon what I've seen thus far.

2139  Other / Politics & Society / USA Freedom Act passes House on: May 14, 2015, 02:33:42 AM
WASHINGTON (AP) - The House voted by a wide margin Wednesday to end the National Security Agency's bulk collection of Americans' phone records and replace it with a system to search the data held by telephone companies on a case-by-case basis.

The 338-to-88 vote set the stage for a Senate showdown just weeks before the Patriot Act provisions authorizing the program are due to expire.

If the House bill becomes law, it will represent one of the most significant changes stemming from the unauthorized disclosures of former NSA contractor Edward Snowden. But many Senate Republicans don't like the measure, and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has introduced a separate version that would keep the program as is. Yet, he also faces opposition from within his party and has said he is open to compromise.

President Barack Obama supports the House legislation, known as the USA Freedom Act, which is in line with a proposal he made last March. The House passed a similar bill last year, but it failed in the Senate.

Most House members would rather see the Patriot Act provisions expire altogether than re-authorize NSA bulk collection, said Rep. Adam Schiff, ranking Democrat on the intelligence committee. "I think the Senate is ultimately going to pass something like the USA Freedom Act," he said.

The issue, which exploded into public view two years ago, has implications for the 2016 presidential contest, with Republican candidates staking out different positions. Wink
