2121  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial concepts combined with certain religious concepts on: July 19, 2021, 09:42:16 AM
I think religion is one aspect that is trying to bring down Blockchain and cryptocurrency and this is why most countries that are religious are not allowing easy use of digital and cryptocurrency. They feel it is a devil's creation and innovation of dominating the world like a sign of end time that was written in religious books both Islam and Christianity. So you see much of highly religious continent placing ban on it but my question is they have not stopped to enjoy technology. They fly plans and enjoy other comforts that are technically driven.
2122  Economy / Economics / Re: Forex trading on: July 18, 2021, 09:57:51 PM
Just wanted to share some info with you guys. I been playing with forex trading automatic trader with signals that buy when either over bought/sold signal is detected. Still messing MA settings but I got a profit of 8% today off of 2,000 USD invested.

8% a day seems good but I'd like to see more of a weekly win-lose chart. There are a lot of signals and copy trading threads everywhere. Keep us posted on your trading bot

Are you talking about the weekly performance of Op ? Well that is cool to ask just not to deceive others of such profit and maybe they look to him for trading signals incase he considers that but apart from that, there are no need to ask for his weekly performance because it is a personal thing and someone can not sell out himself or deceive himself.
2123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to do a defensive trading strategy? on: July 18, 2021, 08:54:55 PM

You can also consider stop-losses as defensive trading strategy, as you are trying to limit the losses on your capital and trying to save something for your next ventures.

I think this is in fact the most important way of defensive trading because it actually gives the trader another opportunity to try a trade again. This is important for traders, even myself has realized the positive side of stoploss when applied on a trade. It is saviour and a better way to do defensive trading.

2125  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling on friendly matches on: July 18, 2021, 11:24:11 AM

What do you think about staking on over 1.5 and over 2.5 on international friendlies (both country and club friendlies)? Or do you prefer to go for straight win or draw?

Nah friendly matches both clubs and countries are not good for draws or straight win but going for goals are better and more likely and guarantee for success. The reason to go for goals more than draw is that as the name comes, it is friendly meaning no seriousness because there are no cups or stakes involved for the players, team or clubs so they will just play it out as friends. Such matches are just meant to test players fitness and readiness of team for future competition. Therefore, coaches relax some important players or those who are already fit and most times the rules of the game are relaxed and you can see numerous changes of players which is actually the purpose; to test the fitness of the players and physhe of the team. At times you see players not showing seriousness on the pitch, some even laugh on the pitch rather than chasing lost possession on the ball. So those are reasons to bet for goals in friendlies and many turn out to be matches with goals.
2126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why can a piece of news from the Chinese government affect the price of Bitcoin? on: July 17, 2021, 03:03:56 PM

When does Bitcoin become less sensitive to negative news?

I don't think is a question that it reply can come with affirmation. In fact it response is inconclusive because bitcoin is a people's project and money get invested in it by people so why such information comes, it causes panic in the mind of investors and they start withdrawing their investment in bitcoin by selling it or converting to USDT. This is natural even in real world, people sell of at the signal of a news indicating government policy that will reduce price.
2127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Nigerian government changing the state of lotteries on: July 17, 2021, 01:14:56 PM
"Unexplored" meaning the Nigerian government wants its huge population to gamble more ! I don't like the sound of it and afaik these are the kind of issues that bring conflict knowing that different religious groups have different opinions over gambling. Tbh It's no brainer if gambling is taxable the real winners here are the government and not the people.

You kind of taking it personal like you know the op in real life. I guess he is talking about opportunities to explore for those who are involved into it and like forcing others to . Gambling is becoming a new venture for people to make money especially the online type and now cryptocurrency being used also. Governments definitely will also want to make profit from it to carry on with social amenities. They won't fold arms and watched gambling outfits making money from masses without remittance.
2128  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terms and condition a must read before signing up any online gambling site on: July 17, 2021, 11:34:38 AM
I really like to read the terms and conditions but truly it is usually presented in a manner that does not support user friendliness so it is difficult for me to settle down and read the whole terms and conditions properly.

They make the writing there so many that you can stay all day for just reading an agreement and some words are ambiguous for a normal person to understand and interpret except a lawyer. This is why some people don't find time to read such but sign up to it.

To save myself from the drama, what i do is that i only use gambling platforms and sites that i have friends who have used it and got paid there hassle free, that is, i use gambling sites only by word of mouth recommendation or referral, not trying to be the first among my friends who i know gamble more than i do to discover a new gambling site.

This is a good idea and I also do that. I feel comfortable to play where someone I know is already playing, I just have to ask for the rules from them and not to read all that was written.

2129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Economic Costs of Gambling on: July 16, 2021, 09:13:35 PM
Why do they allow gambling to such extent when they already know how expensive it can be to the society? Why to allow casinos at the first place? It is because governments collect hefty taxes from this industry in order to let it run, the same goes to drugs and alcohol. If we expect the change, we need to be the change and start taking the first step so to let addicted gamblers come back under the category of normal gamblers who know and understand their limits.
What exactly do you mean by "to let addicted gamblers come back under the category of normal gamblers"? Do you want addicted players to come back to the tables? In my opinion this would be a very bad idea, because this would make these poor people worse off if they are able to gamble again.

You misunderstood my point. I meant that the gamblers should be stopped from playing a lot and let them be capped at some point so they will not lose what they can if they continue to gamble. So if this cap is imposed and they have lost that much, they will not be allowed to gamble for some time which may move the addiction of gambling out of them.

Addiction is a habit that won't stop in a day. It is a gradual process for a habit to be stopped. Trying to use force for an addict may not work rather it can get worsened because bad habit fights back. Even when you take the casino or gambling office away from the gambler, he can find the place.
2130  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin - Deflation, economy - inflation. Connect dots and end the FUD on: July 16, 2021, 06:39:43 PM
Robert is right and that's what we're favoring to say about buying bitcoin and the same goes for the gold people. It's about beating the inflation and saving your wealth before the crash happens and gaining more wealth while the crash is occurring. We're already immuned with the FUD, coming from China? don't mind it. Coming from Elon? let it pass and that's the same with any other FUD that might come to depress our emotions and feelings which is trying to push us to sell. But no way, HODL and just let it be.

I think that Robert view about inflation is just an individual perspective to handle or survive with inflation. Inflation is not individually tackled, it is a government issue from their policy. On the other way to his view I think government should come up with policies that will help the people to a better life and with a system that is less inflated. They should reduce the rate of printing money because high rate of liquidity leads to inflation naturally.
2131  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you gambling to make money or just for fun? on: July 16, 2021, 09:52:33 AM
In the past, if I played one or two games, I usually win but I always did continue to bet until all my gain and money will be lost. When I was affected, I changed and only now gamble just during weekends unlike before that I gambled daily,

For whatever reason that we gamble, it is not totally for fun because if it was for fun then it will be regarded as game. Game and gamble are not the same although they might have a symbol bringing them alike but not the same. That symbol is the channel which could either be any of the sports we play, like to watch or discuss or it is the casinos. Therefore, gambling involves playing with money with the aim of making additional money to the one we had while game is the fun type of it that involves no money. So friend if you have reduced your rate of playing gamble maybe as an addict to the usual player that plays during the weekend with few games and wins, it doesn't mean you have found a better way to play and win, no. You may have the times you will be losing too in times to come if you choose the wrong games to put your money on.
2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your betting budget on: July 15, 2021, 08:31:45 PM
For me, a reasonable gambling budget is 3 to 5% of my income, although I may allow more if I have some extraordinary income that month. How do you plan your gambling or fun budget?

Such percentage is still on the high side except you are an addict. Keeping it low around 1 to 3 percentage is rather better but it shouldn't go pass that. You said you may add more if your income is higher, this can lure you to keeping betting if you are losing. To be a better gambler is to be discipline on it.
2133  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to do a defensive trading strategy? on: July 15, 2021, 01:56:30 PM
Defensive is the sense that you don't regret a trade you enter. Therefore to be defensive is to properly guide yourself against the volatile market. These factors are important:

1. Money management
2. Stop loss
3. Your emotion and market psychology
If you apply these factors, you can start making more profit than losses. Money management is to take adequate risk for your account size and not to be greedy for gains. Again you do not need for force the market or assume direction will go your way.

5 Tips for Trading from a Beginner, For Beginners.

4. Do not click any button yourself, a trade should over with a stop loss or take profit.

Haha watch this point, very important. How can you say no clicking of button especially when you want to exit. With your 30 days experience which is still very young, you will get to understand your strategy better and see that at some point you need to exit or "run away" from an ongoing order that you sure was a wrong step you have taken. At those wrong orders, you don't need to wait until it hits your SL, the professional thing to do is to use your button, exiting the market when you think your SL will be hit is better than allowing a total loss.
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taxes on gambling send the right message? on: July 15, 2021, 09:12:28 AM
....and have a normal life).

This is the focus of government, to direct people to normal life through regulations and penalties for defaulters. Some religious countries try to wipe their system off from those activities you mentioned and there won't be any need for tasking on them. However, the Countries that have not been strict on then, the liberal countries would have them tasked because they give chance for you to make a choice and be liable to its penalties.

2137  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: not paying? You should unlearn then relearn on: July 14, 2021, 05:09:57 PM
In trading team work too pays pretty cool expecially for starters get a trading mate who would join in analysing the market with you before placing a trade it would go a long way in perfecting your trade over time and also make you a consistent profit maker.

Yes in the training and as a newbie, you may need that but you keeping staying that way and get spooned, you won't grow in the business of trading. In trading, you need to learn and start building your own strategy to believe in because everyone see the market from there own eyes and would analyse it from that angle. Also the strategy may not be the same and you may be having conflicting views, emotions and analysis , that is possible to change someone's view in a winning trade. Building and learning processes are different from the real business of trading and most times is better to be independent.
2138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not made to apply taxes on it - BTC economic model is different on: July 14, 2021, 01:08:05 PM
Bitcoin is not made to apply taxes on it - BTC economic model is different

Bitcoin is not made to apply taxes on it as Bitcoins Economic model is different. If governments want to earn money through cryptocurrency, they must invest in it. It is upto governments to buy Crypto using their reserves and hold it instead of applying taxes as taxes cannot help much since there are privacy USDs.

Somehow to it you may have a strong point because bitcoin is decentralised and covers up the real owner as anonymous but I think if cryptocurrency account is tied or link to the bank and the government do have a task plan for that fiat account, then it should be tasked when money enters into it but on the real terms of bitcoin white paper, it is suppose to be anonymous but my question is whether government is making such income task remittance from fiat or cryptocurrency because if they ask for cryptocurrency then it is means bitting themselves.
2139  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sexy casinos on: July 14, 2021, 09:53:05 AM

I am not saying I am not in any way distracted with this but, on a personal level, it is no biggie. However, if we are to go deeper into this as an issue, I have to question whether or not this is still a part of a culture where women are oftentimes reduced to sexual objects.

It is appalling these days the way women have now allowed themselves to be used all because of money. Now they have successfully shifted women as object of attraction to gambling. It is obviously as a selling point and attraction for men to want to play and keep playing to get head on which keeps them there while they go on playing and the casino make more profit.

It is not but the modern way of advert even in movies women have been objectified so that attention is taking towards them. The world realize two things to be a soft spot for men which are money and women. Gamblers don't look away from these two  Grin
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: July 14, 2021, 05:54:51 AM
One's belief over something has something to do with you.The moment you belief something works for you, and you heed to that particular thing,it will surely work.Same is applicable to gambling,if you always win when you say  a prayer, the moment your mind is on that thing and trust it,there is every possibility tgat, that particular game will play you person.

When you used the word belief here, you not referring to believe which meaning believing in something to either happen but this belief is referred to belief system which is usually talking about religion.

So now with the right and appropriate word believe which is hoping that something to happen in a simple "man" understanding , I don't expect it to be over luck when it comes to gambling. IMO luck relates to gambling more than believe. This is why most gambling companies or sites associate with luck and in gambling jingles you hear for example ; one more lucky chance , which means you have to be considered lucky to get a ticket to play, qualify to play or to win as it may be the case. Therefore, I think gambling is highly a chance game and chance is about luck, not believe or believing. Just an opinion I think I should share.
