Maybe Im wrong, but if im right, that 15% is going to do some serious damage when it comes to promotion. Then its going to just turn into a snowball. And that snowball is going to roll down the hill so damn fast its going to hit investors right in the face, and money is going to come flying out of their pockets!! This is when NEM will have the momentum and the power to do something special and give the power back to the people. NEM has the leadership, design, resources, community, and philosophy necessary to execute its plans. NEM actually has the chance to reach its goals. And those goals are groundbreaking, refreshing, and ambitious. NEM reaching those goals will change the world. That sounds way to optimisitic for a client that doesn't really add anything revolutionary to the table. (innovative yes) Lets just settle at 10BTC per stake so we don't get disappointed. What exactly are you refering to by "client" ? You do realize that NEM is about more than just a new fancy client right ? Also who decides what is revolutionary ? In the end I guess history will decide but POI could very well be revolutionary - time will tell. NXT has a similar market cap to DODGE so it's very possible that NEM can reach that as well. No i am saying that their is no reason for the average bitcoiner to choose to use nem over bitcoin. Only way for that to happen imo is price stability. Also the average bitcoin user doesn't care if its POW. POS. POI only the technically minded care. Hey i would love to see nem beat nxt, but just assuming it will creates expectations that can lead to disappointment. You're right and I didn't want to raise eny big expectations. However if we can get merchants to accept NEM and build a nice ecosystem for it I think we can attract even bitcoiners. Merchants and the rest of the Ecosystem have to be one of the highest priorities and this is also a big part that the community can and will have to do. |

hmmm... Lets just hope the developers don't dump their 25% premine. Premine is the wrong term. There is no mining and since all coins are created at one point in time there is no "pre". This is my theory of how much can be 1 NEM, if NEXT has 1000,000,000 coins as its value right now its $0,03 and NEM has the tripple of the coins the logic is to think its value will be 3 times less so 1 NEM will be $0.01....what do you reckon?
Someone mentioned he would not sell his stake for less than 20BTC, I would not sell it either!

Sounds logical right ? However that's only the case if you consider NXT and NEM to have the exact same value per coin. Some may think NEM is more valuable other may think NXT is more valuable. It's not only the mere numbers that count. |

What good news for NxT? Do you mean the decentralized exchange? It's coming out in a couple of minutes and, in the 24 hour leadup, NxT didn't have any extraordinary volume which would otherwise indicate demand for it.
It looks to me NxT is stuck with its' bagholders, whales and the day traders. The subsequent investors, new blood, aren't coming in nor should they with all the scandals and scams associated with that coin.

Has there been any discussion regarding the implementation of a Nem stabilization fund?
There was that multipool idea recently. I think That will do somekind of stabilisation by constant buy-support. I don't know if NEM-multipool is still under development. I hope it is. Looks like it's working great for NXT. Their multipool dip the price +50% in just a few days. Are we sure that's the multipool and not rather good news lately ? |

just want to say aswell it would be a very good show of confidence from the devs if nem coin tokens were to be launched on a competitors platform! if the nem devs are confident that nem is a better/superior system then i dont see there being a problem issuing them on the nxt AE. im sort of dismayed by the lack of response to the idea from both devs and stake holders.. i thought more stake holders would love the opportunity to start trading there nem stakes and watch the value climb with alpha/beta/full release and just to find out what the base price is.
I immediately opened a card on our trello board to discuss your idea - which is what's happening now. There are also other ideas floating around and I think there won't be a real decision on this very soon since the actual issuing of the stakes is still some time away (might be wrong though). Noone has to worry that their ideas are being ignored ! PS: dismayed is a strong word for this situation It's been like a day or so and we're all in different timezones. |

Good work again guys. I can understand a technically innovative and qualitatively superior product needs a lot of hard work. Thanks for putting in all that work. I think I am not mistaking if I say that all Nemsters appreciate this and look forward to contributing to the project as much as possible.As a side note, I am not sure auctioning the Nem stakes on the Nxt AE would be the best option. I am for Nxt, and appreciate all the hard work and innovation they are putting in as well, but in a situation like this it may be better to avoid this option due to conflicting interest. It would only be a win-win situation if Nxt would agree to do something similar and promote Nem with some positive marketing as well. I'm afraid you are as - I dare not say his name - proofs today. |

Another tought i have:
I was thinking that auction held, lets say 1. day of every month, with 5 stakes at a time for a year could keep the price a lot higher and be better PR, than auctioning 'em all at once. Weather it's in NXT-AE or not. And give the rest either for stakeholders or to charity on NEM's first birthday or something. Stakeholders could vote what is the best charity.
people could just freely pm him through bitcointalk to buy at market price imstead of an auction and keep the sale of 135 odd stakes off the market and thus not effect the price with many sells. Alls he gota do is send the buyer of "auction" stakes a nem stake asset to buyers nxt account. Job done. Saves the hassle of originising an auction too. It will give the dumpers a good chance to dump at much lower prices to those who may hold the coin long term, as i will. People dont know what to pay at auction as a price hasnt been set yet. The price would be much better set on the open market then at auction, as many will with hold from bidding in the hope of getting cheaper stakes on the open market. I say no auction. Issue assets. Set base price on open market. Then utopian sells the "auction" stakes off the market. Job done and best price got for them. He can also hold some stakes for later sale after alpha and beta when he will get a much higher price. So you are saying that we need to wait till June/July when the coin is released and then issue an asset and just change the price daily to follow the price on exchances. But if price rises to $0,1/NEM who would buy $100k/stake ? Then we will need to split stakes to not bigger than 10k NEM ($1000) pieces so enough people will afford to buy any. That asset is gonna be there a long time... Exchange volumes might stay too low... Or relay exclusively to NXT-system at first (it needs to get super-popular) and later on NEM's own Decentralized-Exchange ?? Wake up guys! Nobody care about the nem progress and beta client? The nem source code has no changed in github https://github.com/NxtEM/nem, lastest commit is 3 months ago. That is not the repo that is being used. Usually I would just ignore f****s like you but this had to be set straight. what's the new name in git? It's a private repo i.e. you can only watch it if invited. That's to prevent from people starting to clone early on. |
