2122  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The psychology of betting..... on: April 27, 2023, 11:38:57 AM
I only have betting strategies and using martingale strategy at times after I knew it is very risky.

Most of my strategies is about how to risk little and lose little or to gain little, not even martingale that can go wrong at times and lead to big loss.

Betting should be fun, when using just little amount of money, not going beyond the budget set for it and if I noticed that I am winning as I am gambling, not that I am losing all the time which can make me suspect something wrong going on. I do not think there are superstitious ways to win casino games.
2123  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Staking really great way in crypto wealth on: April 27, 2023, 10:42:21 AM
This board is about trading, not about staking. You can move this thread to altcoin board, or maybe service discussion if you know you are staking or earning from exchange staking.

You should know that not all earnings on exchanges are staking. Earning can be gotten from the leverage given to traders too and some other things.

But the main thing is that you should earn by staking on noncustodial wallet or using a decentralized exchange if you like the coin and see the potential that the coin will rise after a significant fall or bear market.

Know that altcoins are gambling, be careful and do not use more than what you can afford.

Very important to know that staking on an exchange means you have no complete control and it means anything can happen to your coins if you give it out as you give it to the exchanges to do it for you. Better to use a noncustodial wallet or connect to a decentralized exchange to stake.
2124  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why gambling and mixing called bad actors in bitcoin on: April 27, 2023, 08:48:13 AM
From my experience and observations, I noticed both Bitcoin mixing and online gambling using Bitcoin are mostly regarded as bad actors in Bitcoin despite both being the highest Bitcoin adopters and having the largest Bitcoin volume in transactions and services.
Secondly, if Gambling and Bitcoin mixing services are called bad actors, what about centralized exchanges are they also perceived as bad actors in Bitcoin?
Do not mind the rubbish.

Gambling is not illegal, but you can see Muslims or some people that detest gambling because of their religion to call it illegal with passion.

Some people are not also using mixers only what they know is that mixers are used by bad actors, they do not know that banks and centralized exchanges too are used by some bad actors.

Let me answer your question.
Assuming I am into internet fraud, I scammed a white woman using western union or money gram, I successfully scammed the woman without trace. I can decide to use exchanges. There are some scammers that have been linked to exchanges. Not only that, there are some scammers that are using exchanges too to do their work, not all scam transactions can be known or investigated.

Life is scam if you can not avoid scam.
2125  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Why Coinbase & Binance does not support Bitcoin LN? on: April 27, 2023, 07:50:54 AM
Thanks for telling me that, I have edited it and strikeout the exchange.

Binance implemented the segwit native address on their plaform only after how many years it was launch on mainnet, so dont expect they will just implement LN on its early years.
As for CB, yes they have plan on it, we just dont know when.
Are you serious about this? Lightning is not the same as segwit. But the reasons Binance do not support segwit could be because of the money the exchange is making from bitcoin withdraw and also because of the altcoins which some people thought are bitcoin but not bitcoin, they are only pegged with bitcoin. Yet both lightning network and segwit were implemented the same year:

The Lightning Network was originally envisioned in a whitepaper written by Joseph Poon and Tadge Dryja in 2015. Its testnet was released in May 2016 and, by January 2017, Lightning's first implementation – lnd – was released in its alpha stage.

Initially, most bitcoin transactions have not been able to use the upgrade. Segregated Witness was activated on 24 August 2017. The bitcoin price rose almost 50% in the week following SegWit's activation.

Lighting network was existing six months before segwit.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say that maybe it's because LN-related deposits/withdrawals simply doesn't have that much demand as of yet. Whether we like it or not, the crypto normie world barely uses LN, it's mostly the Bitcoin enthusiasts that are using LN as of today — in which the actual Bitcoin enthusiasts are only a very small percentage of total crypto exchange usage.
-snip-

I don't really agree here. I think that if services and exchanges were to adopt the lightning network, more people would start using it especially now with many wallets (Exodus, Wallet of Satoshi, etc.) supporting it and making it easier to use. Who would want to pay 10-15$ extra for withdrawing their funds when they can do it for a couple of satoshis instead?
I perfectly agree with you OmegaStarScream. See how segwit adoption increased when more wallets and exchanges supported it to the point that more than 80% of bitcoin transactions are from segwit addresses. As more wallets and exchanges are supporting lightning network, more people will prefer it. But what I do not like about lightning network is that if it is not your node it is not your your coin, most people are using custodial lightning network wallets.

But this fee you say they charge, from my understanding this fee goes to the miners and not them(coinbase)
Are you using any exchange at all? If you are and also making transaction on noncustodial wallet, you will see how exchanges are charging exorbitantly from bitcoin users.
2126  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Why trading Crypto (instead of Forex) on: April 27, 2023, 07:20:00 AM
When analyzing Bitcoin, for example, you have soo much more data to watch than with forex.
It is not about data only, it is about how good a trader is. There are some traders that left trading forex or  crypto and said trading is gambling. Some traders continue to trade but yet losing. Some people are making profit both in forex and crypto trading. What I am saying is that after both are very risky, few traders still make money from both.

I even have a brother that has been in forex for years, he knows about crypto many years ago and started to know about crypto trading like a year or two years ago, but prefere forex. As for me I prefer crypto. Sometimes it depends on preference and the one you know indepth. But about data or whatever, forex traders also need some information and updates in order to be a better trader.
2127  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: April 26, 2023, 04:48:57 PM
Not that the guy is even rich yet, not that he built a mansion or a company for business. He rented an apartment and bought two iPhones and thought the earning will be consistent.

but this is a lesson for us all to learn from.
He left his job just because of gambling. That is stupidity. There is nothing I can learn about this but to see it as stupidity.

Although you are very correct, gambling should not be seen as a business. People that see it as business and a way to make income will always end like this.
2128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Hashbet.com // Decentralized Games Based On Smart Contracts on: April 26, 2023, 11:36:57 AM
About campaign managers, this are lists of them: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4412712.0. No more updated though.

I will recommend Trofo, Hhampuz, Little Mouse, Royse777.

How secure is your site to people who are connecting their wallet to gamble with your platform?
Won't there be a hack or a wallet compromisation that would lead swiping out someone funds if eventually connected to your site?
If you connect your wallet, the site can steal your coins if they are not trustworthy. Use just little amount of money first until the site has excellent reputation and use secure means.
2129  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you stay updated on: April 26, 2023, 10:50:19 AM
How do you bet on such games? What are the things to be on the lookout for? Because I believe this is different from football ⚽, I also don't have access to satellite dish like my relative does, this is how he is able to get the best out of these sports.
You can be watching some boxing matches. Although not that necessary if you really want to like it, start from checking odds, lowers odds are given to better boxers and be consistent in checking the winners in the gambling site which I think is enough if you are consistent with that.

After some times have passed, you will have experience and you will be able to know the better boxer to bet on.

Very important to be checking some site statistics and analysis and predictiona too, it will help.
2130  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: April 26, 2023, 08:25:25 AM
In my own view, there are some nuances to consider. While there is certainly a high level of risk associated with cryptocurrency, making wise market decisions can lead to greater initial investments than just starting with $20. However, it's worth noting that many centralized exchanges have a minimum purchase requirement of $10 for any coin. Additionally, trading inevitably incurs transaction fees, which need to be factored in. Lastly, diversification is a key risk-management strategy in trading, and $20 may not be sufficient to address the challenges that lie ahead.
The exchange that I have used that needed a minimum of $10 so far is Binance, I trade lower amount on my other exchanges and it is getting filled. Even on Binance, you can trade futures with less than $10. As you increase the leverage, the amount needed to trade with is getting reduced.

The OP said $20 which is still even enough not to have an issue at all.

You do not need to diversify while trading. You can decide to choose a single coin, like bitcoin. You can decide to go for just two coins, like bitcoin and ether. You may decide to diversify further or not. But for a newbie trader, only one coin is advisable and I will recommend bitcoin.

If diversifying, traders need to be careful of altcoins, there are many shit coins.
2131  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there any point to start trading with 20$? on: April 25, 2023, 09:36:57 PM
You wanted to start big before? That would have be the biggest mistake that you will make. Just start with $20 and use it to learn.

Know that trading is very risky and I can tell you that you should first see it as gambling until you know much about it when you are making money than losing money.

I have been trading for 3 years now, the truth is you should not see it as a means of getting income, find other things that can make you money, see trading as fun.

Always know that you should not trade with the amount of money that you can not afford to lose.

Use very small amount like $10 to begin.
2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Politicians behind the development of gambling platform on: April 25, 2023, 11:52:16 AM
“Sabong” or the placing of bets on live cockfighting is an established tradition in the Philippines that dates as early as three thousand (3,000) years ago. The gaming activity is essentially placing two roosters/cocks in an arena and betting on which between the two comes out victorious.

I do not think it is what they even accept as gambling is Philippines by some people. But if it is accepted as gambling, it is stated in the news that it was legal before when the man was involved in it.

If the government legalize gambling, anyone can be involved in gambling. But countries will have their own rules about government officials to be involved in gambling or not.
2133  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: April 25, 2023, 11:38:51 AM
I am not a gambling addict but some friends are making me look like one because I gamble less and they gamble more, it all started when we got into an argument that investing in Bitcoin is not the same as gambling, my friends who are gamblers, not full-time but more of a gambler than I am, are claiming that there is no difference between investing and gambling, they said if all you doing is investing money on Bitcoin you are no different to those who are gambling in a casino.
If I were you, my simple answer is to accept that they are right, but because life itself is gambling. But I will explain further that if it is gambling using money for it on gambling sites, that investing in bitcoin is not the same as gambling on gambling sites, they are different.

If the argument continues and I explain further and they did not accept, there are some arguments like that, that will not end.

Still, I refuse this because I believe they are wrong, Bitcoin market has charts and I am playing with charts even if I am a full-time Bitcoin trader, all I need to do is read charts, and if I am good at it I will win vs gambling, where it's you vs a company which we can never tell if their games are completely fair or not.
Trading that is even riskier is not gambling, not to talk of investing in bitcoin. You are correct.
2134  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a web3 casino for you? on: April 25, 2023, 11:19:43 AM
Web3 casinos operate on web3 technology in a way that punters connect their noncustodial wallet to a gambling site in a way that payments are settled on blockchain, unlike the deposit and withdraw on centralized casinos.
2135  Economy / Exchanges / Bybit to introduce mandatory KYC requirements starting May 8 on: April 24, 2023, 06:13:05 PM
To Bybit users.

Know that KYC will become mandatory by May 8. I do not know the reason for this, but likely because of regulatory pressure, more exchanges are requesting for KYC.

According to an April 24 update, Bybit users who have not completed KYC by May 8 can only “close existing open positions or orders, return loans, or withdraw. Any new trading activities will be restricted.” Before the update, non-KYC Bybit users had a daily withdrawal limit of 20,000 Tether USDT and a monthly withdrawal limit of 100,000 USDT.

Why lock the thread which is not self-modetrated? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450004.msg62141628#msg62141628

Well, you wanted to make it self-modetrated. I understand. But I think you should have left it like that as long as the discussion on it are not bad and it has some posts under it already.

I have my posts there which I think would be useful and not need to be repeated here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5450004.msg62141779#msg62141779

Nice topic though.
2137  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcointalk Gambling Problem Support Group on: April 24, 2023, 02:04:24 PM
It would have been better if you start this thread about what to do when suffering from gambling depression or addiction. Or you need that now yourself?

I do experience a lot of upsets due to my gambling losses and it's very stressful to bear it all alone since no one in my family knows that I'm gambling. Gambling is also against our family values so I will just get scolded if I share my feelings since they will not understand my side.
Be disciplined
Do not spend more than the amount of money that you can afford to lose on gambling
See gambling as fun and entertainment
Avoid temptation of spending more
Set a weekly budget
Do not let your weekly budget be more than 5% of your weekly salary or wages.
Do not see gambling as a way of earning or income

All off-topic post that violates the rules will be deleted without notice
Delete or report? This thread is not self-modetrated.

Local thread rules:
Why include local? Rules should be rules, this is not about local board or anything local, this is a forum people from all over the world are visiting.

Days without playing gambling:
Days were good until I started gambling in 2014. I got addicted because I thought it could be a means of income for me. I lost so much and I quit gambling in 2019. I started gambling again in 2020, exactly one year that I stopped. I lost so much and I quit again for like three months and started gambling again. I realized that gambling should just be taken for fun and nothing more. Although I am earning income now from work, unlike that time, maybe the little I am earning now makes me not to depend on gambling.

What is your experience for the day(Related to gambling;Leave blank if none):
Not fun when I was addicted. But now fun when I know that I should only use small amount of money to gamble. It is now fun because if I lose, I stopped. If I win I stopped. I am even busier than gambling all the time, I only gambling during weekends, sometimes that I have free time to spare.
2138  Economy / Exchanges / Re: A new #TEX exchange. User experience same as #CEX #transparency as #DEX on: April 24, 2023, 08:04:13 AM
1.For the dex/TEX,anyone can add all coins which don't need the exchange to agree.
2.Compared with DEX such as uniswap and dydx, the liquidity of CEX is more sufficient.
3.TEX is the transparency exchange, which combine the security and transparency advantages of decentralized exchanges(DEXs) with the user experience advantages of centralized exchanges(CEXs), aiming to provide users with a better trading environment.

As for the difference with CEX you mentioned, it is more transparent and secure than CEX.maybe you can check this article:https://medium.com/@Tsp_Exchange/what-is-tex-how-is-it-different-from-cex-and-dex-dfef89ac952c
I do not need further explanation,  just give examples of TEX

Binance, OKX and Kucoin for CEX
Uniswap and Pancakeswap for DEX
List some exchanges for TEX is the question you have not answered. What exchanges are examples of TEX exchanges?

https://www.tsp.exchange/

Do not think you are special than the centralized exchanges. You are not even on any exchange listing site because you are yet to be new exchange. I can not trust new exchange until it grows and have reputation.

You are a centralized exchange.

This is what I found on your yet to exist site:

Quote
The Most Transparent and centralized experience Global Crypto Exchange is Here

Quote
Centralized Experience
Enjoy the centralized perpetual experience such as registration and login, opening and closing position, etc.

There are even many places you mentioned on your site that you are a centralized exchanges.

Know that there is nothing like a transparent exchanges, you are just a centralized exchange that wants to use decentralized means to mislead people.
2139  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Kucoin Twitter account hacked, $22k lost on: April 24, 2023, 06:31:25 AM
It is a shame, we know how follows can be scammed if such account is hacked because their followers can believe what the hacker is tweeting and be lured.

But people should be very careful too, so people that have experience and know about this type of scam can easily be suspecting that the account as been hacked because the hackers can tweet that people should pay certain amount of money to receive double, or asking for what that can result to money loss from you which any Kucoin official will never ask.

It is a shame on Kucoin because the exchange failed to protect its official Twitter account, but also humans should have the experience to stop being greedy. As for me, I can not fall for this cheap scam, it is even not a new scam.
2140  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There are many advantages to the relationship between gambling and Bitcoin. on: April 24, 2023, 06:02:23 AM
Firstly, Bitcoin provides a secure and decentralized way to gamble online, which is attractive to many gamblers who value their privacy and security.
That is true, but these are used by blockchain gambling sites, most gambling sites today are centralized, not decentralized. Most bitcoin gambling sites today's are requiring for KYC, no privacy.

Transactions are processed quickly and can be completed without third-party intermediaries, making it a popular choice for online gambling sites.
Bitcoin transaction can be completed without any third party or intermediary, but most gambling sites like I said before are third parties.

Another advantage of using Bitcoin for gambling is that it allows for more anonymity than traditional payment methods. This can be especially important for gamblers who wish to keep their gambling activities private.
With the third party casinos, no anonymity and no privacy.

Furthermore, Bitcoin transactions are often cheaper and faster than traditional banking methods, which can save gamblers money and time.
It may not be cheaper for local transactions on local casinos, but far cheaper than cross boarder transfers. But in gambling, what I have noticed is not how cheap the fee is, fiat local transaction that I have made before are zero transaction fee, but bitcoin transaction is processed faster, especially than the international fiat casino with wire transfer that can take over 2 weeks.

Many online casinos and sports betting sites now offer exclusive bonuses and promotions for Bitcoin users, which can provide gamblers with extra incentives to use Bitcoin for their online gambling activities.
I think this is about the casinos, no the payment method used.

Can you tell us another advantage of opening an account in a Bitcoin Sportsbook?
Sportbooks are bookmakers, they deal with sport betting, there are casinos that support bitcoin deposit and withdrawal. Also that some gambling sites can have both, I mean gambling sites with sportbooks and casino together.
