2121  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: good places to hide paper wallet ? on: October 11, 2015, 10:54:07 PM
stick a piece of paper in your wall

This is actually not a horrible idea.   I cannot remember the spy movie but they did this.  What they did was had a vent or something that allowed a straight drop of item and used magnets.

So say you stored your paper storage in the wall with a magnet on it.  You use a string with another magnet on it and you can "fish" it out when needed.  Only problem is fire etc that destroy it.

Safe's do not have the fire issue assuming nice safe.

Isolate it with good metal, then covering that with aluminum that the fire does not destroy etc.
Since you have access to the wall that would not be problem even if someone will start destroying your house.
Another place to hide the paper wallet i would consider blank pipes(10cm extension) in your water installation huh?

Covering it with aluminium would not change anything, the heat will still be transferred to the paper and thus all that will be left is dust. You could print the key with metal or some such, but the best thing to do is definitively have several backups.

I don't know how is it called in english but firefighters use them.
It is against fire and it can protect the paper too from the fire.
Having several backups is the best idea for everything not just for the paper wallet but also for sensitive files/data, another idea?
2122  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to motivate women to use Bitcoin? on: October 11, 2015, 10:38:55 PM
simply talk with your gf or this women about Bitcoin, explain how it works, create wallet address for them, send them some bitcoins as gifts, there is a lot of methods to convince women to use Bitcoin..Just let them know that it's in fact "money" like other currencies..

I also benefited from the bitcoin giveaways and here i am now.
It's not just about women but also for the men that don't know about bitcoin.
Maybe they heard about it but the point is to understand it and start using it, the same is for women.

I think that there is a problem with your faucet website.
Firstly good that it detect the AdBlock Plus.
Secondly i put my bitcoin address, solved the captcha but the claim button is missing?
2124  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: October 11, 2015, 10:26:22 PM
Howdy,
I've been using one for a couple months now and it's given no reason to mistrust it. But it seems weird to me sending my money to an intermediary that's neither a wallet nor a bank and is entirely online. Feels like the money is hanging out in some nowhere zone that isn't completely under my control...

Dies any one else feel this way or do I just not understand this stuff well enough yet?

Thanks!

Not every BTC exchange is already trusted, there is only few exchangers are known here like Yobit, Bit-X, Coinbase..this are trusted and have many positive feedbacks from people, so we can use them for exchange between currencies and Bitcoin

To add to that list i would add also poloniex,
For now it is trusted enough and has good volume of alt coins.
If you have ever heard about bter then stay away from it as people are having issue withdrawing their bitcoins.

Yes, I second your vote for Poloniex. That's definitely one robust exchange. They got into trouble once before when they got hacked. About 12% of their coins have been taken which they deducted from their customer balances and they have repaid every penny in the near future. Since then, they had no problems whatsoever.

Just the way how they solved their previous hack crisis gives me a lot of confidence and trust into them. I would recommend them to anybody. The best altcoin exchange out there.

When happened the last poloniex hack? I consider my self as a new user when i heard this from you.
Since they repaid all of the lost funds then this gives extra trust to them.
Unfortunately bter exchange was hacked in February this year and still they haven't paid their users
Until now they have paid their users only 9.76% of the total bitcoins stolen.
2125  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 11, 2015, 10:19:34 PM
Maybe we could sponsor a famous person to advertise Bitcoin
let's say a  gaming youtuber or someone like that, A lot of famous youtuber are being sponsored by gaming gears company like razer or roccats for instance,so why don't we try to be their sponsor Grin
And a lot of people who watch them are people who understand technology so it will be easy to get them introduced to Bitcoin
Im sure it will attract lots of buzz over the internet and it will make bitcoin more popular Smiley

Justin bieber is sponsored by Beats and he wear it anywhere he goes Roll Eyes

IMO Smiley

I have a feeling that if both Google and Apple will implement the bitcoin as the payment method to buy in their market it would be perfect.
That would be the best idea to spread the bitcoin in Google Wallet and Apple Pay.
Most of the internet/technology users use android phone and iOS so this kind of advertisement will rock Smiley
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet is working the best in face of malleability ? on: October 11, 2015, 10:16:07 PM
Since coinbase pays the fee for their users i am using it.
The fee that they applies at the time of melleability attack is somewhere at 0.0002-0.0004
But dont consider coinbase as a wallet because they don't give you private key. GL
Coinbase does not need to pay anything fro their internal settlement. But, Coinbase is paying Tx fee even when the Tx is going out of Coinbase too?

I have used coinbase many times and until now yes.
Here is an article about "Does Coinbase pay bitcoin miner fees?"

2128  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Free Lifetime 5gb VPS Method $1.50 - Guaranteed | LIFETIME VPS WITHOUT INVESTING on: October 11, 2015, 10:07:34 PM
Well the method that you promise lifetime VPS seems to be very cheap.
Reading the "vouches" it seems that you vouched for your self.
A newbie and another account newbie or jr.member at that time of reviewing i would not consider as a vouch.
If you can send a free copy to Senior, Hero or Legendary that would considered as a valid vouch.
I am interested to buy(after valid vouch) or getting a free copy and leaving a honest review.
I am purchasing the method and will provide vouch after I test the service and see if it is working, and $1.50 isn't that much to waste for a great method if it does work.

Ok, i will wait for your review, please put as much information as you can.
What do we need, any (V)CC info required, any phone verification required etc..
It's not about $1.50 but i hate being scammed even for this small amount.

2131  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many bitcoins do you have to sell to make a living? on: October 11, 2015, 09:55:41 PM

What is the estimated earning of a antminer s7?
More than 1BTC a month i think is good enough, since it cost more than 8BTC including the PSU.
But in less than 10 months there will be a halving does it affect directly the mining earnings?

Yup you get half the coins.

You can check a miner's potential profit here - http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/bitcoin-mining-calculator

I thought we were long past the phase it was considered viable for the little guy.

I calculated that if at the moment you can earn around 1.2BTC monthly -0.2BTC i speculate the electricity so 1BTC monthly.
In 8 months you can reach the ROI if you mine 24/7, so until the next halving you can earn 2BTC + selling the antminer s7 as a bonus if you want to leave at that moment, so i can think that you can make a living if you own many of these miners and have a stable electricity.
And what if a new miner comes out before then that completely crushes the s7 in efficiency?  What if your miners break?  These are all possibilities you'll have to consider.  A huge risr in difficulty making the mining calculations incorrect would not be unheard of.

The best case is that the ROI is within 8 months.
But the worst case can be that the mining rig can be burned by the first day.
Anyway I don't think that any amount of btc selling now will guarantee a good life in future.
2132  Economy / Lending / Re: Loan request 0.25 btc, paying back 0.3 btc in 15 days on: October 11, 2015, 09:53:35 PM
This is asking for a loan like a boss, with such less information lol.
If you provide your account as a collateral to escrow, then i can borrow you 0.07 with no interest for a week or two max.
Don't pm me if you want to deal without any valid collateral.
2133  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much do you think 1 Bitcoin will be worth in 2020? on: October 11, 2015, 09:39:10 PM
i vote for 1000 usd...because bitcoin future still full of uncertainty

only 1000 usd is more realistic in my eyes..10k usd is too high..and below 100 usd is too low..

From the all options in the poll list 1,000 USD is the nearest that bitcoin price can be reached.

It depends on many factors like block size, halving period (which probably will be twice until 2020)
2134  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: October 11, 2015, 09:37:35 PM
Lol i am waiting for bitcoin to hit atleast $150 and they go and stop at $1800 then it would make me a lot of profit.

It should take lots of time to reach these 2 different points.
I am waiting too but i don't think it will reach 150$ again.
The price is raising now and i hope to reach to 300$ soon this year.

I think bitcoin will go up a little bit more, but if the block size debate isn't resolved soon then it will probably fall way below $100... As for right now I'm investing in btc in terms of purchasing power to buy 1 or 2 altcoins which I think possesses the most potential for being the next big thing, but since this isn't altcoin discussion then I'll save those views to myself.

Also I'm interested in buying physical bitcoins because I think that no matter if the price will go down, or if it becomes very obsolete, then physical bitcoins will always be a way of preserving them and I think that they will hold a very high value 50 years from now when it becomes kind of like an antique.

But no one can really know what is in store for the future of bitcoin... it's just fun to be along for the ride, whether you've been on this ride for a couple years or just starting out now.  I just definitely wouldn't sell my car/house for bitcoins, that's for sure.

Really i don't see any advantage buying physical bitcoin designs that are made by some persons.
I know that at the moment they cost a bit expensive but can go more expensive in few years later.
About the blocksize i think that problem should be solves soon, i don't think that most of people wants to see again 100$/btc.
2135  Other / Off-topic / Re: Will you quit your day job to go full time on bitcoin? on: October 11, 2015, 09:20:23 PM
It depends what you are working I guess , I mean if you are software engineer or a designer or something that is really wanted and you can do it online aswell then you should quit and go fully with bitcoin to earn more and invest them for long term .

I think that personally the most important part is to have a job.
Then if you want to get the payment through bitcoin or in cash would be less important.
If you are interested in bitcoin you can easily buy bitcoin with your salary, but the most important is getting a job first Smiley
2136  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to make a living online? on: October 11, 2015, 09:18:26 PM
I was thinking today that making a good living online could be owning an exchange.
There is 0.2% fee everytime someone buy or sell something (bitcoin or any other altcoin)
This could bring lots of money and a good profit for a long time.
2137  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Should you stay or should you go? on: October 11, 2015, 09:17:16 PM
i dont think what is the best idea whether to quit from bitcoin world or to stay though i will surely keep my bitcoins and wait for a price increase what will happen in the future i hope

I think that if someone join the bitcoin world will not quit.
At least for me since i have known about bitcoin I enjoy learning about it.
I don;t think that i will quit for a long time maybe or if any big crash happens.

There are no possibility of bitcoin crashing. Bitcoin has survived many years, so we can be confident it's completely bug free. History will repeat. So, bitcoin prices will repeat it's growth and the growth of bitcoin will take it to as a global currency.

Who know that bitcoin will not crash to 100$ for example?
It has survived many years but there is no guarantee that the price will not go down again.
But i think that bitcoin is going good, and many big company will implement to accept payment through bitcoin soon.
2138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you earn a lot of free bitcoins fast? on: October 11, 2015, 08:58:24 PM
I know I have posted something like this before, but this time I'm adding more descriptions, because I left out lots of details.

I want to earn 0.1BTC-0.3BTC in a month at most. I am 13 years old, so I do not have any bank account, so I can't spend any $$.

I am willing to do activities such as signature campaign and stuff.
Things to answer for me:
1. What is the highest paying signature campaign that I can participate in?
2. Any place where I can loan Bitcoin?
3. Any other ways that I can earn bitcoins FAST?

Things To Know....
I can program JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Processing JavaScript pretty well.
I spend 10+ hours everyday on my laptop.
I'm very determined. (Willing to do almost anything.)
My address is: 15k9H74VrEVGndYrrgHoDBkzBv5CNY1ukc
and donations are very appreciated!

well a 0.1btc is reasonable in one month, you can try Crypto-games signature campaign but im not sure if there still available slot
for jr.member. you can ask for loan but you have to have a collateral that matches the value of how much you want for loan,
you can try faucet and referrals but they only give a very little amount of bitcoin.
Id recommend to use your programming skills to earn bitcoin. why dont you start a thread offering your programming skill service.

You can earn 0.1BTC only by signature campaign.
And within a small amount of time mostly within a week or two max, depending on forum rank.
But for Jr.member like OP in this case 0.1BTC monthly is reachable, also start trading a bit.

I use half of them in the poll list.
First for online shopping, then for money transfer, micropayments.
I don't use it for games nor gambling.
Other: buying alt coins and selling them to get bitcoin
