2121  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 25, 2016, 02:47:46 PM
with 10 BTC I would buy a house that is very simple. I want to build my small family. following my dream.

House? with 10btc?
Omg, is it really true that you can but a house with 10btc?
If I was a billionaire than I would have invested all my money on you or your country.

Hopefully I may profit from it though.... Tongue

But fully confused... Huh

With 10 BTC you aren't buying a house... unless the house is absolute trash and in a 3rd world country or something, unfortunately.
Maybe in 10 years, you can buy a good house with 10 BTC, not now.

Also, don't forget that you'll have to pay taxes, it would be 10 BTC minus the tax.
2122  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Maxwell V. Satoshi on: May 25, 2016, 02:36:14 PM
Satoshi will be known for inventing Bitcoin.
Maxwell will be known for important improvements in privacy such as Confidential Transactions, CoinJoin, ZKCP and sidechains.

RawDog... will be known for being a notorious bitcointalk.org shitposter
2123  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II: Betting thread on: May 24, 2016, 09:25:52 PM
Thanks for the link, it seems directbet is always the first in adding most boxing and ufc matches.

I was expecting those odds, I think people has faith in Klitschko winning this time, since a lot of people has said that Fury is way too confident and he is not taking seriously this match. Klitschko is one of the best ever, and this Fury guy is going around being a goofy that can't even show up in proper shape, the guy is fat. We'll see how it does. I think Fury is lossing his mind, unless it's all a big promoting antic by him.
2124  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much can you earn with gambling? on: May 24, 2016, 09:18:27 PM
The gains in gambling vary as much as your lucky, and taht is indeed, unpredictable, this is why its very hard to guesstimate any amount of gains that you may want to be aiming to make with gambling, which is why its not recommended unless you do it for fun.
In my case, anything from 0.01 to 0.1 BTC per month in gambling gains is reasonable.
Actually its very simply for me, earning in gambling is limitless but not all can achieve that. If you have a good skills and knowledge you can earn a good amount in gambling and even make a fortune our of it.

What skills are involved in gambling.. except luck? Im not gonna lie, I have never done extensive research in gambling, but some simple mathematics and just common sense tell me that skill is not really involved in gambling, only luck. You can talk about skill in poker, but what skill is involved in slot machines or dice? none imo.
2125  Economy / Economics / Re: Video: How Negative Interest Rates & Deflation Will BANKRUPT THE WORLD - Maloney on: May 24, 2016, 06:40:34 PM
Basically European Central Bank will try to fix all their problem with creating more money. Which is never good idea in the first place.
It is as Maloney said - Keynesian economists can't drive the world's economy, it is not sustainable in the long run. They know that, too.
At this point I am starting to believe it is scheme created to purposely induce economic crisis.

I think that the system can go on as long as people accept dollar as the world currency. Sure, the devaluation of the dollar has been insane for the past decades, but if you ask people around you, they will not be aware of this devaluation, and everyone still accepts dollar as the king currency. So as long as people accept it... I don't see how the system will collapse. As long as people keep doing their normal life, I don't see riots in the streets about it anytime soon. Maybe once they remove cash, then we will see some serious shit, since a lot of people is surviving by doing undeclared work.
2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A teen is given $1K to invest into Bitcoin - what would you recommend for them? on: May 24, 2016, 06:36:01 PM
Let's say a young teenager is given some coming-of-age money from their family, and is interested in growing that money through Bitcoin.
Without encouraging him/her to invest in risky strategies, what are some safe methods of growing a Bitcoin portfolio with a hypothetical gift of $1K?

Others may come along with more helpful information,
but there are basically two types of investments with bitcoin, IMO:

1) Risk Investments (lending, ponzis, gambling, altcoin trading, btc trading, chinese online wallets give interest (may be scams IDK) etc)
2) Holding Investments (just hold for a decade or two and profit)

If there were truly safe methods of actually growing your btc, I want to know as well.
The best that a noob can do is 2). A noob is just not going to understand what is a scam in the crypto world, you need to be around for a long time to start feeling the dynamics in order to take high risks and profit from pump and dump shitcoins and whatnot, which are great to get BTC quick, but the risk is way too high. So just buy and hold until you have been here for at least a year and daily reading and research.
2127  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you had to choose a better name for Bitcoin, what would it be? on: May 24, 2016, 06:33:27 PM
I saw a speech of Andreas Antonopoulos that said that he found Bitcoin to sound too nerdy, because Bit makes you think of geeky stuff, and then coin, which is wrong since Bitcoin actually uses no coins but keys, so he proposed Trustnet or something like that. I think he is terribly wrong, Bitcoin is a way cooler sounding name, actually no one but nerds care that you aren't using coins but keys.
2128  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: Does it have a POSITIVE IMPACT on your life? on: May 24, 2016, 06:31:40 PM
Well, before Bitcoin I never managed to make actual money off the internet, making a blog and a youtube channel and whatnot and I never had any luck to position my stuff and make some extra beer money type of extra income (I wasn't expecting to get rich). Now with BTC I have some extra bucks at the end of the month which is cool.
2129  Other / Off-topic / Re: If i give you 10 BTC what will you do? on: May 24, 2016, 06:24:32 PM
If you are so generous to give me 10 Bitcoins now.I will incest 1 BTC out of those in some good ico.I will hold 9 BTC to wait for halving phase to be completed successfully.I don't believe in hype but its impact is obvious on price. There can be some 50% increase in price after halving what is my expectation. If there will happen more is always welcomed.
a good plan, maybe we can follow your plan, because if I failed 1 BTC in the trade I still had 9 BTC which I hold. This might actually make us successful in playing trade
Yeah your right very hard to choose very hard to predict and it needs lots of research before you can sure about the altcoin.. but as of now i am still making a profit.. if you are not very active and watching those trading sites. and you are just buy and set your price to sell not trading with other trader you cant make any profit with trading..
and it needs patience and always watch it..

It's the best thing you can do, to invest 1 BTC and save 9, anything else is way too risky, and 1 BTC of investment in the altcoin world, if you know what you are doing (and of course you have luck) you can turn 1 BTC in 10 BTC in less than a year, with a reasonable amount of risks taken.

2131  Economy / Games and rounds / Tyson Fury vs. Wladimir Klitschko II: Betting thread on: May 23, 2016, 09:25:40 PM
Tyson Fury and Wladimir Klitschko will fight for a rematch in july 9, big, big money to be made that night. Who are you betting for? I think Wladimir Klitshcko can deliver a good performance in the rematch, he should have learned from all the mistakes, and is his last chance to not be rendered a lesser fighter than Fury. If Fury wins, then I expect the Fury era to start, and he will pretty much win every single fight after this until he retires, unless he retires way too old.

I hope I can find some Bitcoin betting sites for this one.
2132  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Spanish League Prediction Thread (La Liga) on: May 23, 2016, 09:17:10 PM
Barca was the better team, it was very hard, almost impossible, that Sevilla would win Barca last night, that's why I did a small bet for Barca to win (usually I never bet on this sport, only combat sports) and I did a great job, some nice extra money at the end of the month. Sevilla did a good job y not getting totally goaled tho.
2133  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is doing something on Bitcoin Pizza Day? May 22nd, 2016 on: May 23, 2016, 09:15:19 PM
I was going to order a pizza, and that would count as "doing something", since for me it's pretty special since I follow a pretty clean diet (nothing fancy, but I never order stuff) so a pizza would make it for me, and that's all, but I didn't even end up ordering a pizza, so it was a regular day.
2134  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: May 22, 2016, 04:48:56 PM
Sometimes I need some quick money, not a lot, so I would resort o gambling, honestly it's a mistake to do this, but sometimes your luck is on your side, and can save you a lot of time which you would have need to put to work. Im talking like making 50 extra bucks a month, so that is not that much of a risk to begin with.

And sometimes I just like the game and it's fun to play, like battlecoin.org
2135  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: losing 50 bitcoins gambling on: May 22, 2016, 04:41:21 PM
if I lose 50 BTC I will not be sad, because when I bet with a very big amount, it means I have a lot of BTC.

Someone lose 50btc does not mean that he has a lot of btc, how it those 50btc is the only btc you have? Wouldn't you be sad?
On other side losing 50btc is still a big amount no matter how much btc you have. Losing such amount is still a bad experience imo.

If someone that doesn't have a lot of BTC, loses 50 BTC in a single gamble, that means that person is mentally insane and should not be anywhere a casino ever again. That is the worst wealth management I can think off.
2136  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Who will be the next victim for Vitalik to dump his Ethereum IPO scamtokens on? on: May 22, 2016, 04:32:03 PM
Im not gonna lie in here, I was very tempted to buy some DAO tokens because you know.. it's never clear how this type of thing can end up looking like, when there is a certain dead end date. Maybe in the 28th, everyone expects a big ass dump, but an actual pump happens, so everyone that didn't buy in regret not doing so.

Of course, at the end of the day, everyone will go back to BTC, im just desperate to make some extra BTC other than buying monthly, it's too boring and slow, I need to take some risks soon, and shorting big-volume alts are the best thing I can think about when it comes to making extra BTC.
2137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remember CatCoin, Dogecoin, BBQCoin, QuarkCoin...history repeats with DAOs on: May 22, 2016, 04:10:00 PM
There are so many more examples you could tell of coins that have been hyped to retarded levels. One of the biggest hypes I ever seen in my long career as a cryptocoiner is the Auroracoin pump, now that was crazy. At about 0.12 BTC per coin, it was one of the biggest pumps of all time. I could have made mad money, but back then, I was an idiot since I was new, so I didn't cash out, ended up selling that crap in cryptsy for a couple satoshis.. geez!
2138  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Investment Type do you Prefer??? on: May 22, 2016, 04:07:34 PM
Most people that have been involved in HYIP and IPOs and all those fancy looking abbreviation have ended up with a lot of losses. Gambling is just a game so that doesn't count as an investment. I think the best way to go is to trade on the markets, try to make sound decisions, know when to get out and take your profit, and that's how slowly you make a good portfolio. The more you grow the more you can risk and the more you can win.
2139  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Theymos: “Bitcoins Belonging to Satoshi Should Be Destroyed” on: May 22, 2016, 03:51:19 PM
All those worries about coins getting stolen..this is all still pretty much science fiction, so all those people worrying about getting their coins stolen by some big evil quantum mechanism computer machine are simply out of their mind. No need to panic, specially if you don't go around making your keys public, so if you are that worried, make a new cold wallet that has never seen the internet and store all of your bitcoin there, I guess that would do it for the next 10000 years.

It's amazing.  The diversity of thought, opinion, and factual knowledge on this subject truly sheds light on the direction this project has taken.  It seems that with such a diversely rich pool of adopters some novel thoughts would present themselves.  However, what I am interpreting here just reinforces why representative models of governance replace those models based on majority consensus....Is that where we're going here also?

Do we sacrifice the few for the benefit of the group, or do we hold fast for individual rights?  It's very interesting, but from which perspective was the project conceived?

Such a change will require a lot of consensus.. so nothing worry about. If consensus is reached to not delete those bitcoins, the bitcoins will remain, if there is consensus, then they will get removed, but I don't think there will ever be consensus to do this, it's too controversial.
2140  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 49 days till the halving, time is flying now on: May 22, 2016, 03:38:42 PM
It's the final countdown . Hopefully, everything should go as should be . (Price increase + no panic selling => everyone is happy) .
Our future is on the hands on the miners at the moment . If they don't stop mining we are fine .

If we have a wave of panic selling idiots, it will still be good news to anyone with an intelligent (aka long term) stance on Bitcoin. It just means we get to buy Bitcoin at a discount.

If everything goes as expected, then it's just relax and hold as your wealth goes up.

Can't lose with team Bitcoin.
