Android wallet depends on me, and it will roll out eventually. I'm certainly not planning to throw away months of hard work.
But I agree it's best to keep it separate from coin's own time schedules, because even if it's mentioned or not, it's release date won't change.
I think it is great that you are continuing on the wallet. And since you are doing it unpaid and strictly on hobby basis, then would it not be fair to setup any deadline or such. The android wallet will be there when it will be there. When that is said, the Andriod wallet is key to the points I have mentioned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=450381.msg8004882#msg8004882Thank for your effort paspi

Here are a few additional thoughts to compliment this discussion:
Environmental Advantages: 3 Currently the majority of the people that are aware of the environmental implications of Bitcoin technology are miners. Through the Mintcoin Fund we can offer something that helps the environment AND offers a tax deduction solution for investors. This is unique to the coin and would be of even more value if we were to extend NPO filings across the world. Alas this is long-term vision.
Fast Confirmations 2 This is a huge differential from many other coins; however once again looking mainstream - many people just learning about crypto currency are not aware of how incredibly slow bitcoin transactions are.
Interest by Staking 1 This is something that anyone can see as an advantage. Whether they are currently investing in crypto currencies or not. I am amazed at how many traders out there that have no idea what exactly PoS is.
If I were to order these in priority based on demand from a real world use perspective I would rate interest - 1, fast confirmations - 2, environment 3.
How would you rate them?
I would definitely say that Interest by Staking is what can attract new people to MINT on the short time scale (explanations follows). Fast confirmation is the medium time scale, when merchants starts adopting, fast confirmation is huge advantage. The environmental becomes important when crypto currency goes mainstream, and we start using our dollar bills as firewood instead of a means of payment. About the "Interest by Staking", many people start getting interest in crypto currency because of mining. Even today, where bitcoin mining is only for pro's, is there still newbees asking mining questions in the mining section of the forum how to get started - of cause they will never make any profit, but this is how many get introduced. I think we need to use this to our advantages, the great thing about MINT is that you can MINT your own coins (honestly MINT caught my attention, because you can MINT coins, later I found out that the name symbolized some kinda weird green plant who belongs in a mojitos). Minting, or staking, PoS, yes, we are talking about the same think. I am an engeneer not a marketing person, but the slogan should be something like: >>Mint your own coins<< >>Mine MINT with your labtop<< >>Use your smartphone to get more coins<<etc. Ok, to start minting then will you need MINT, some will buy mint other will need to get there first mints with faucets ect. But mining and staking is FUN - nothing is more giving than seeing your balance grow! And this is where MINT has a huge edge over the other coins, there is 20% interest on the first year, I believe this is the highest for all the PoS coins (correct me if I am wrong). The Android wallet fits this strategy perfectly, I NEVER believed that the android wallet magically would make MINT go to the moon, but it is such an important tool, to have to get people interested in MINT, once people start minting on the phone then will they show others, and explain they are making FREE money, and this exactly what could launch the MINT rocket. Just my 2 satoshi...

Can we think some feature that unique to MINT only? Frankly speaking, all those features u mention aren't only available exclusively on MINT. Many other coins have those too. It's quite common nowday. We should somehow become purple cow
I like your idea about thinking out of the box, mint cannot survive by saying "but we where one of the first to do this, the other coins are copies". However, forking MINT right now (in this transition period) is not an option, that would be a dead penalty for MINT (imo). I honestly think MINT is a good product in the current version. The focus in the sort term should be to stabilize the coins. This is done by showing a active community and make "investors" (by this I primary think of day-traders) believe that the coin could rise in value, the volume is way way too low, which has been one of the problem with MINT over the last 4 month (dumping 700m, slowly has certainly not helped either). The coin is extremely volatile right, a wrong move and the coin could die. (I do not think that MINT survive if it goes below 1 satoshi). In medium to long term should marketing and exposure be the priority. In the long run, yes, innovation is needed, to differentiate from competitors - I completely agree with you. There will be changes in the coin market soon, when the all the powerful scrypt miners gets online, how they will affect MINT is hard to say, my guess is that small hashrate miners will consider staking (PoS) instead keeping up in the scrypt hash race, and hopefully they will chose MINT over the others. But only time will tell. There is not much time, I believe that hashrate for all the valuable scrypt coins will explode withing 2-4 month. *edit Like cryptomom just pointed out, discussions like this is actually helping the coins, since the community is active and not "dead" (who want to invest in a "dead" coin?) *edit 2 I totally agree with the what cryptomom has done, with changing the headline of this thread over the last couple of days, also announcing the newsletter, this and bumping the thread, is exactly what is needed in the very short term.

I think the three most important features with MINT are: 1. Environmental advantage (the vast power consumption of bitcoin mining will most likely be an issue one day). 2. Fast confirmation, (not a big issue, but I have often waited more than 1 hour to get 1 confirm in bitcoin transfer, even with paying 0.001 BTC in tx fee). 3. Interest by staking (like having money in a fiat bank, there was a time when you could really get a descent interest by putting your savings in the bank, at least before fiat became worthless).

I transferred some mint to mintpal, but after 2,754 confirmations, the coins have yet to reach mintpal.
Anyone know whats happening?
Have you doubled checked that the receiving address is correct? Balance -> Action (MINT) -> Deposit MINT Thanks for the reply. My mistake. I meant to say I sent it to Poloniex. My poloniex receiving address matches the address on the transaction details from my wallet. I'm now on 3,100 confirmations and nothing is showing up on poloniex. Any ideas? I have no experience with poloniex, sorry. If I was you, then would I contact poloniex customer service.

lol damn Otoh i see your buying up all the 2011 coins coming up for sale nice
I know why Otoh is building a new house, and he is using 2011 error coins to make a grand mosaic on the facade.

I'd ask a price that's on par with what the 2011 error coins are being sold for. There are 5000 2011 error coins, and certainly many have been destroyed, lost, or worn to poor value conditions. If there are 20% of these coins remaining in collector condition and they're commanding BTC4-7 each, the 2011 S2 should be getting the same price. Melbustus is still confirming his estimates (~480) of the 2011 S2 counts, but even being generous (based on Mike's uberbills text file) if there were double the number Melbustus estimates these coins should still be commanding that price.
Obviously the S2's are not the FIRST issued coin and that first issue is historic, however an equal percentage of S2's may have been destroyed, lost, or worn to poor value, which could make the population of collector condition coins even more scarce.
Both are great coins to own and I think both should be selling for greater than BTC2.5...
This is your opinion, but the market is what decides these prices. If his price was so absurdly low, then he would have sold all of them in an instant. They are only worth what someone is willing to pay for them. Based on my research I believe they should be in the 2-2.5 range and are currently priced correct for the current market. +1 to that. The market price is always dictated by the price for an actual sale.

I feel horrible for these businesses accepting doge and have zero clue about it.... I bet it leaves a sour taste in a bunch of ppls mouths It is a never ending hole right now. This has got to be fixed... pretty much I think of it as trying to build a sandcastle on the beach... better off to build on a rock or it will always get washed away I was a shibe long time ago, now I only own some physical dogecoins. Can someone gives me a quick resume what is going on in the dogecoin-world. Read the dogecoinball and there was a stripe about low hashrate, is that the main concern? Thanks.

Hi Acceptance2,
I am not in by any means apologizing for them. I am trying to keep the situation as positive as possible and trying to move the community forward. I like the rest of the community started investing despite the pre-mine with the understanding that the pre-mine would be used to grow the community. I have been a constant pain in the rumpus to the prior developer asking for contributions from the pre-mine to accomplish the very tasks I am accomplishing right now behind the scenes with my own personal money. I am praying that as I show progress in both development and the value of the coin more people will donate to the bounties.
As noted in my tag cryptomommy - I am a mommy of three amazing little girls - which requires allot of patience, time, understanding, positive reinforcement and a ton of love. I would like to think that I try to bring these attributes to everything I do.
There is no sense in scolding the prior dev. They know they did wrong. They ARE assisting me in this migration and I am thankful for that on behalf of the community.
They could of simply told all of us to piss off and not bothered transferring the community rights over. (which is a primary tool needed to move forward).
I was honestly quite upset when I yesterday learned that devs stole the premine. I was very close to dumping all my mints @ 3 satoshi. Nevertheless, cryptomommy you have my support. I will be keeping my mints, "to whatever end". I leave a quote from LOTR to inspire my fellow mint'ers: Theoden: Who am I, Gamling? Gamling: You are our king, sire. Theoden: And do you trust your king? Gamling: Your men, my Lord, will follow you to whatever end. Theoden: To whatever end...

i initially thought it was the ether that johnny depp was on in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
"Ah, devil ether. It makes you behave like the village drunkard in some early Irish novel. Total loss of all basic motor skills. Blurred vision, no balance, numb tongue."
