2141  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you thought you had found the real satoshi with 99.9% certainty ... on: September 17, 2020, 06:08:11 PM
If you thought you had found the real satoshi with 99.9% certainty would you reveal the identity?

Vote Yes or No?

Discuss ...

EDIT1:

Would your choice be influenced on the basis that the candidate was already dead or still alive?

I think if I found that out I would like to reveal his identity just for fun and information, knowing who created bitcoin is kinda cool and I think its really a thing that everyone should know.

Know who creator made bitcoin is I think will not make a difference at this time and it's not really going to make the market value increase or somehow hype the bitcoin community again.

But I guess it is good information to share with everyone who uses bitcoin even though a lot of people are not going to believe it.
2142  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why government Don't kill btc? on: September 17, 2020, 05:22:21 PM
What is Stopping?

Why government Don't kill btc?
Why They protecting the btc?
Its Becouse They own Secretly btc?

Like They did with Gold in USA They banned Gold then They Secretly bought Gold in  history

Bitcoin is a great asset to the USA since its a good technology that is used in digital transactions and compared to some countries I think the USA is one of the countries that utilize bitcoin.

For sure they could see big potential to the bitcoin technology that is why they have no intension in killing or banning since it is a great asset that could also be useful in the future.

Compared to some countries that bitcoin is banned USA is different, still, we don't know who owns bitcoin probably it might be a countries secret but we just don't know who owns its or is it just one person Satoshi.
2143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: September 16, 2020, 07:20:13 PM
If they'll need it, I can make you sure that they will understand it very quickly.

For now, a lot of countries are not exposed to digital transactions and still using fiat money as a mode of transactions, and it is most reliable to use for them since everyone knows it already.

I think someone could easily understand bitcoin when explaining to them or someone teach them how to use it.

It won't be easy because many of them are still behind, what i mean is ,many of then doesn't know modern technology and how to use it. The easiest way i think is to teach them one by one or let their love ones teach them so that they can understand it. Also in teaching them avoid to introduce bitcoin in a complicated way. Just make it simple so that old people can understand.

Some countries that already exposed to digital transactions could easily adapt to cryptocurrency and bitcoin in my opinion. Teaching them or helping them understand how to use or what is bitcoin is going to be easy compared to someone that don't really up to this kind of technology. I guess you need to be good at explaining in order to help them easily understand bitcoin, their are only basic knowledge at points that they just to understand it and use bitcoin as a mode of transaction.

I don't have a readymade answer for this. My father is 78-years old and I have been teaching him how to use a smartphone for the last 4-5 years. And even after all these years, he can only do the most basic tasks on his own. I have given up teaching and I guess he will be OK with whatever knowledge he is having. When it is so difficult for the old people to learn even the basic technology, I don't know how you guys are expecting them to understand complex technology such as cryptocurrency and Blockchain.

I guess we have the same thing, as I teach my father using a smartphone and operate video calls  its a bit difficult to help them know how to use it but overtime I can see some improvements.
2144  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: DITO stocks - dapat ba mag invest na DITO? on: September 16, 2020, 01:50:22 PM

Difinitely will try this IPS kapag naging available na sa lugar namen.
2145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The acceptance of cryptocurrency worldwide on: September 15, 2020, 02:21:42 PM
If all countries can accepted crypto currencies in there various countries, as a means of payment and as a means of online exchanges, such as money is, money is anything use as a means of exchange and general acceptable. With the means I think all cryptocurrencies (bitcoin) will definitely go round the world, and will be use as a means of exchange. I will be so grateful to the creation of crypto currencies. This will also help our future generation, Remember something when we do international transfer across the countries, it may take a while to get the money to your local bank account, but with cryptocurrency you can get instant reflection if bitcoin etc is transfer to wallet,And you can make use of your coin (bitcoin ETC).

Bitcoin has a very high potential of becoming a world currency and I think it is already used in a lot of countries around the world as a currency and a digital currency.

Not all cryptocurrency is going to go around the world as their are so many cryptocurrencies that don't actually have a value. As bitcoin adaptation continues we could see a lot of platforms of the banking system that are already supporting bitcoin conversion that is actually a good sign that bitcoin is being recognized around the world. Bitcoin technology is revolutionary compared to fiat money and it is actually a big jump but still not supported by a lot of countries or government, but as bitcoin adaptation continues it is going to be easy for bitcoin we be used by a lot of people.
2146  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Simple tips on how to prevent accuse as a plagiarist. on: September 14, 2020, 04:09:28 PM
I guess just write your own content and base your content in your experience to avoid plagiarism, some issues are because of googling about something and then kinda paraphrasing the sentence that came from google which is I think not a good move so for me never do that and just stick in your own experience when having a discussion with someone in the forum.

Also putting the source or reference when you post something from the internet is going to avoid plagiarism since you are acknowledging the content that it is not your own content. The forum suggested to just put the link where you get it.

2149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin difficult to understand on: September 13, 2020, 07:09:11 PM
Peoples fine it difficult to understand what is cryptoccurrency most especially bitcoin, but their interested over cryptoccurrency.
I just suggest that their should be a TEXT BOOK that will discuss about cryptoccurrency in order to educate people who are interested because referring them to online shows that know Manuel evidence of cryptoccurrency. And if their is any article that guide bitcoin.

Bitcoin is easy to understand in my opinion as long as you know all the basics about it, and by just using bitcoin or experienced bitcoin you could easily learn a lot about it.

But still, bitcoin technology is a wide topic so there is obviously a lot of advanced part of it that is hard to understand, but for me, there is no need to learn everything about bitcoin and with just the basic knowledge about it, you could surely use it and earn a profit from it.

Textbook or articles online is I think effective to learn bitcoin in my experience, with just a bit of research about it you could already learn a lot of things. Still no need to learn everything, you don't need to know how the technology is going to work you just need to know how it works. There are people that are in charge of this advanced stuff something like programmers and developers.
2150  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook and the 🌟 Star rewards. Is it the beginning of libra on: September 13, 2020, 06:56:41 PM
Facebooks stars are already implemented in Facebook so viewers could donate to content creators using stars, I think libra is going to be different from stars doesn't really have a value in other platforms.

Libra is a cryptocurrency and I think it is going to be great if implemented in Facebook having its own currency so that everyone is just going to use one currency when it comes to the Facebook platform, sending libra coins to the content creators is a good thing also content creator is going to use or convert libra easily instead of using card or Paypal.
2151  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOINS REALITY SHOW (BRB) on: September 13, 2020, 06:26:39 PM
Bitcoin Should have a reality show just like the  Ellen show, America Idol Talent show The big brother show etc. The show soul aim should be to create a public awareness about the advantages and flexibility of bitcoin to the society and to entertain the viewers with different games, campaigns and quality bitcoin adverts.. a television show in which members of the public or celebrities are filmed living their everyday life’s undertaking specific bitcoin challenges in the show. I strongly believe the show will influence people behavior and will definitely result to a positive impact to the world of Cryptocurrency at large. The correlation between Reality Show and Society behavior is large so therefore information and knowledge about bitcoin can be easily passed. At the end of the show the winner(s) will be credited Huge amount of bitcoin into their wallet. Thanks

For sure it is a good thing to have bitcoin in a reality show but I'm just not sure how bitcoin is going to be introduced at that point, somehow if it can be executed I think it is a good thing for bitcoin adaptation.

I think documentation type of films is a more effective approach to bitcoin, in my opinion, having a series or episode of it would be interesting and catching to the viewers.

A lot of people are not exposed to technology, but most likely they watch TV, that is why I think it's a good thing not just some online articles or videos. We just need to bring bitcoin to them.
2152  Other / Archival / Re: What will happen to bitcoin on a world war? on: September 13, 2020, 05:36:22 PM
In my opinion, a world war is literally the worst thing that can happen to humanity, with or without bitcoin.

Wars happen because countries can't pay up their debts, so they "pay up" this way. (Again, in my opinion, no misunderstandings)
In a war, the fiat loses its value. I had a discussion with a friend about what could happen to bitcoin in a war. He said that it will surely collapse. I am not so sure about it.

Although, think about it for a while. In a world war, the last thing someone has is access to the internet. Would bitcoins lose their value?

History has shown that gold is the money that "reborns" fiat. At least after a war. I would like to read some thoughts.

We don't actually know what could happen to the bitcoin when World War happened but for sure it will have a huge effect on the market and on bitcoin.

In my opinion, at times of war transactions are important since it would be needed to purchase firepower, but not actually sure since there are so many currencies that could be used at this point aside from bitcoin. Money is important if you want to be protected. Or in the times of war bitcoin could easily be useless since most of the time it is all about surviving and it might affect bitcoin market price making it useless in some countries. But I guess it depends on what situation the war would make to the world.
I don`t think it would an advantage for bitcoin when there is a world war. It might be used in purchasing or transacting but probably, economy will fall. As a result, most of the companies will not be able to run. Many businesses will shutdown and cryptocurrency as well as stocks will be affected. In the end, there is no good that world war brings to the world aside from depopulating and fighting the individual rights and wants. Bitcoin will probably fall because investors are fear to trap in a falling world economy.

Still agree with just like what I said we don't know what could actually happen when the world war started, but since bitcoin is a world currency there is still some possibility that bitcoin could be used.

But in my opinion, what's going to happen is everything is going to be a focus on the war, and then every other thing could be useless, that might happened to bitcoin because I think surviving is the most important thing in a war.
2153  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't use your bitcointalk account password on other websites on: September 13, 2020, 04:25:53 PM
As an IT I understand that passwords in a website are actually encrypted so even the programmers or the websites should not be able to see your password at least.
...
This is not always true. It depends entirely on the website you are using and its owner.
The owner/developer is the one who decides how passwords are going to be saved on the database (plain text or encrypted).
As a user and without having access to the website's back end, there is no way to know how passwords are being saved.

I agree, but it is a good practice to encrypt the password as a programmer since you cannot really leak any information from your users, it is against the law in my country.

That is actually the problem since they are a phishing website they just want to get information so the programmer programs it that way to get information easily.

2155  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't use your bitcointalk account password on other websites on: September 12, 2020, 05:15:31 PM
I was worried about this issue back in the day because if you just think about it websites could just use your password and login into your accounts if you use the same password on the other websites. And I think I've done the mistake in my early days because we know that it's easy to remember your password when you only have 1 password or 2 passwords Grin.  As an IT I understand that passwords in a website are actually encrypted so even the programmers or the websites should not be able to see your password at least.

It's better to have a strong password or another layer of protection when it comes to your Gmail because every website is just connected to your email, having an access to your email account meaning having a access to all of your accounts on different websites most of the time.

But it's a different story when it comes to phishing websites or scammed websites because their goal is to get your information so I don't think they have encryption or anything.

Also, the construction of your password is important:

You could also check how should your password here:
https://howsecureismypassword.net/
after what i said maybe you don't trust the website anymore, putting some password Grin.
2156  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Atomic wallet's phishing website is being promoting in google's ads. on: September 12, 2020, 03:52:19 PM
~

I guess no experience trader in the cryptocurrency community that would click a google ads website, It's not surprising anymore at all and it is already discuss a lot here in the forum where google is not filtering scam websites, anybody could make an advertisement of their websites in google as long as they pay.

A trader could easily identify legit websites and either way they have a lot of ways to identify it, they could go to a lot of trusted sources where they could get a legit link of the website like in this forum.

Finally Google identified the website as fake and phishing. But after so many reports, Google has taken a long time to identify this website as phishing. So it is very risky to use Google to find any kind of wallet now, newbies should be careful about this.

The ads construction or configuration after your research is very deceiving we usually click the first link of our research because in the past you can easily differentiate the search results and the ads, now they are configured to be the same, if you are a newbie that do not check details in URL you will end up a victim of these phishing websites and it's Google ads fault.

I guess website is already reported a lot of the community to take down this website, either way google is so clever doing this without losing money.
2157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin adoption because of difficulty faced by mankind on: September 11, 2020, 05:06:04 PM
Well Bitcoin cryptocurrencies will help those people a lot who cannot access or difficult to access bank system. They can store their earning in crypto wallet, which is absolutely free of cost. A country need good bank access facilities and some remitances for good development.
Recently we heard a new that Latin american adopt bitcoin. This is a big boost for crypto market. According to geographical cryptocurrency report Latin America adopt bitcoin due to remitances need ( which is to be needed for development ) difficult in bank access. The local people of Latin America have some uneven income, for which they face some difficulties to open a bank account and to maintain the bank account. That's why they came to cryptocurrency and maximum use / deal with the stable coin only.

And another main reason according to me to come into the cryptocurrency is that.....
cryptocurrency is limited, there is no doubt the price will always like a moon. But in the case of fiat currencies , these can be printed at any time. just for an example Venezuela and Argentina. Some countries are like they distribute money like HELICOPTER MONEY . This is how fiat currencies devaluation.

So blockchain is future and it will help a lot to the Mankind. Always

Fiat currency cannot be printed at any time doing that is going to affect the supply of the fiat money in a country, it could easily lower the value of the fiat currency for example making a 1000 value to 100 so you can't just make and make more fiat money government still need to control the supply of the fiat money to avoid Inflation.

I think a lot of countries is just not ready for bitcoin adaptation as they are still over fiat money and that is where most of the people are comfortable with, Technology just needs to be developed in a country in order to adopt bitcoin when that happened it would be easy to adopt bitcoin when people already have the technology to do so.
2158  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Millennial Generation Investors Prefer Bitcoin Over Gold on: September 11, 2020, 04:39:07 PM
The link is not working.

In my opinion, Millennial maybe prefers bitcoin over gold but it not just millennials who want bitcoin, I guess almost a lot of investors and people in the community are going to go with bitcoin over gold. Millennials like technology so it's not a surprise that they like bitcoin technology and how awesome it is compared to a gold.

For long term investment that could take years, I guess gold is going to be profitable even though there is a bit of volatility but the supply is surely low. Bitcoin is also profitable in long term but the volatility is very high so the market is going up and down a lot so profit could be made in short term most of the time.
2159  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Warning: SEC issued a warning against FORSAGE! on: September 10, 2020, 06:36:47 PM

Haven't seen any invitation sa feed ko for a while. Mukhang nag-deteriorate na nga ang hype, well good thing. Pero expect niyo sooner may iuusbong nanaman na panibagong schemes 'tong mga 'to, then marami nanaman ang mabibiktima  Undecided. On the other hand naman, 'yong Trendy thingy na 'yan na kasabay netong Forsage is still going pa rin up until now, depsite SEC's warning.

Xian Gaza already made some statements regarding FORSAGE, and so far mas naniniwala pa ako sa credibility ng scammer-turned-anti-scammer na 'to kesa sa ibang personalities ngayon. Xian exposed many crypto-related scams in the past, mostly mga ponzi schemes.

2160  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: #WARNING!!! Beware of this activities on Instagram. Don't fall victim. on: September 10, 2020, 03:00:10 PM
It's not only on Instagram, also on crypto Facebook pages and even on youtube people make videos of how much ROI they have made from Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrencies, with fake follow through of comments were people claim they have also just received their own ROI. I mean, how can someone believe this, people try to believe that there's a quick money scheme waiting for them somewhere, when actually there is none.

One of the photos in the op reads: "earn $10,000 weekly investing in Bitcoin", with Bitcoin just a little above that price atm, it could mean earning one Bitcoin every week, it's plain stupid to believe this imo, what investment can even give this much ROI, or do people just love believing that Bitcoin is a 'gateway to riches' Sad rather than focusing on the technology and it's pros.

I think this kind of scam is everywhere on Facebook, in every Facebook group or community. Showing a stack of money to encourage people to invest or be a part of what they are doing.

Most of the time people who post a photo holding a stack of money are scammers since they are no reason to show a stack of money, it is most likely a referral thing in a lot of pyramiding websites. They are getting a big commission in inviting investor in their websites, so showing a stack of money is a good move encouraging a lot of people in social media, and we could see that this is thousand of comments from this post asking what they need to do in order to earn that money too.

There is no way you could just easily trust this kind of people especially when it just comes from a social media platform where everyone could easily create their one account.
