2141  Other / Meta / Re: Why the forum keep deleting my old posts? on: January 17, 2023, 02:55:46 PM
No moderator's notification message about the deleted posts?

That is happening to many people recently including people that are having good posts, I think some topics were deleted is the reason if you post under the topic. Just continue to post good and enjoy the forum. What people complain more about is that the posts were deleted but no moderators notification about it.
2142  Economy / Economics / Re: Brace yourselves, CBDCs one Step Closer on: January 17, 2023, 02:29:26 PM
CBDC is just fiat and nothing different from fiat, it is even controlled by central banks, it is centralized and it is a way government will be able to know more about their citizens money and able to control it. It is the same as fiat and devalues as as fiat. I have been using bank fiat since I was an adult and it is working good and I still prefer to stay in that way no CBDC for me.

The American's government can just ask every citizens to convert their fiat to CBDC for now to next 7 days, if someone doesn't convert their fiat to CBDC in the next 7 days, any fiat will become worthless and can't be used anymore Roll Eyes
Why would a government do that? It would be a stupid reason and no government can do that.
2143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 17, 2023, 12:51:21 PM
Am anticipating for Arsenal to come out victorious in the match. Let them keep topping Manchester City with points. A point loss is not welcomed at this stage they are against Manchester City and Manchester United. 8 and 9 points difference is not that much if matches are loss
8 to 10 points is not much but all of them started at 0 points, Arsenal is leading and not showing any form of weakness for now as it also won Tottenham 2 goals without Tottenham able to score just 1 goal in the match. Arsenal and Manchester United match would be a home match for Arsenal and what I think is either the match ended draw or Arsenal would win. But Manchester United next match is tomorrow with Crystal Palace, it is even an awaiting match and this may drive Manchester United point higher if it win the match.
2144  Other / Beginners & Help / Google Ads-delivered malware drains NFT influencer’s entire crypto wallet on: January 16, 2023, 09:28:48 AM
A pseudo-anonymous influencer known on Twitter as “NFT God” said his crypto wallet and online accounts have been attack after downloading a software found on google ads. NFT and crypto worth life-changing of his digital asset were stolen.

https://cryptonews.net/news/security/19321939/

Quote
Last night my entire digital livelihood was violated.
Every account connected to me both personally and professionally was hacked and used to hurt others.
Less importantly, I lost a life changing amount of my net worth

— NFT God (@NFT_GOD) January 15, 2023

Do not learn your own lesson from yourself, avoid ads.
2145  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ads might drain your wallets on: January 16, 2023, 08:45:22 AM
Heads up: always use the uBlock Origin ad-blocker when browsing the internet on your computer. It effectively removes like approximately 95% of ads everywhere. It's free and open-source, and it removes a lot of unnecessary clutter when browsing the web.

https://ublockorigin.com/
Ublockorigin can help against ads on computer, some antivirus can help too. But some people have little amount of bitcoin on phones nowadays, no matter how small the coins are, it has to be protected, ublockorigin is not having a mobile phone one, what can be the alternative for mobile phones?
2146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting against the Public, is this strategy working? on: January 16, 2023, 08:14:39 AM
Probably this is just one strategy made up by someone who bet on games that he didn't know and won some money and later he know that what he bet is against the public.
Assuming most people take win for team A, because of that you take team B which is underdog to winteam A. What if team A or B do not win but draw, that just mean that the match is a lost for the gambler. A gambler can win a match he chose that a lesser strong team to win which the public do not go for, but to lose in gambling is a way easier. What we should know is that the odds are set by bookmakers in a way not to favour the gambler.
2147  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just lost $4000 because of addresses starting with "bc1p" on: January 16, 2023, 07:53:48 AM
Not that I doubt your story but it's so that the rest of us will know how to escape a similar situation in future.
Check and double check the address that someone send you. Also check and double the address that you want to use to send bitcoin to someone after you have pasted the address. The mistake the OP did would likely be because he send bitcoin to a wrong address.

If you want to send bitcoin to someone on an exchange, some exchanges may not yet support taproot address, use old address like bech32 instead.
2148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Proof of stake is bad and why bitcoin is the only crypto I would trust on: January 16, 2023, 07:42:31 AM
That is PoS, what I know more about it is that it is centralized, unlike PoW. But if you want to know more about PoW versus PoS, you can read the difference from this thread:

[Megathread] The long-known PoW vs. PoS debate

PoS is also a means crypto is moving more towards ways the government will find it easier to have more control.
2149  Economy / Economics / Re: Reserve Bank of India Governor Calls for an Outright Crypto Ban on: January 15, 2023, 10:14:45 PM
CBDCs are just fiat that claims to use blockchain technology, but they are fiat. They offer no value more than fiat.

I hope indian government will not be very stupid to leave cryptocurrencies and ban it. The reserve bank of India governor is only self-centered but he is just a single person. Single person can not ban cryptocurrencies when the citizens likes it. He wants ban of what the government sees as a means of getting more tax.

Te reserve bank of India governor see crypto as gambling, he should propose ban of gambling in India too.
2150  Economy / Speculation / Re: what caused bitcoin to go up this january 2023 on: January 14, 2023, 08:13:50 AM
Bitcoin falled to $16000, that price alone is low, the lowest price supposed to be $17000 but what that happened to FTX cause the further downturn when bitcoin has increased over $20000. No bad news again and the market started to become bull market is what that caused it. Most people are not selling but buying is what that caused it.
2151  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin hits 20,000$ again, what is the reason? on: January 14, 2023, 08:09:33 AM
I just saw people talking about CPI news but no one is sure, anyone has any other positive updates? I've also tried to search but can't seem to find any news greater than CPI.
I'm having mixed feelings because bitcoin price is rising so fast I won't be able to accumulate many cheap bitcoins anymore. On the other hand, bitcoin is up, I'm also glad my portfolio is recovering too.
Bitcoin and other crypto coin price can fluctuate abruptly immediately after CPI news, but their effect on bitcoin and other crypto price only do live short for a short time, the last CPI news do not favour bulls or bears and the market at the times was in both directions. Let me tell you something, do not believe that anything cause this present bull run other than it is just time for bull run to occur.
2152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Criteria of a good gambler on: January 14, 2023, 08:04:00 AM
I confess that I had not read this topic in detail.
I imagine that some of these types of criteria may be more relevant than others, not all people think the same way and consequently the same type of criteria cannot be relevant to another person, I even dare say that most of these characteristics /criteria are subjective (of course, some more than others)
You can check what the OP put down, even if you can not read it in details, you can still read the main points which should not take up to a minute to read. To me as I see it, good gambling should have the characteristics the OP put down if they do not want to gamble and be disappointed at their losses, but some can consider profit while gambling but not in a way they see it as income but in a way to watch close that they do not have much losses too and able to control their gambling, they should not let gambling take control over them.
2153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Criteria of a good gambler on: January 13, 2023, 04:25:13 AM
lucky if you are a gambler who doesn't care if you win or lose. not many people are lucky with riches. most gamblers for sure are looking for some ways to earn money. you will only be a good gambler if you gamble on occasional basis. but for most regular gamblers, i don't think you can stick to your own rules as sometimes you want to chase some losses.
But that is not good, gamblers should not look for a way to make money from gambling, they should look for other ways because gambling can only take more than give as people think they can use it to make money. The primary reason that gambler lose more is because they are thinking gambling can be used to make money but which is not, gambling can be used to spend away time for that time to be lively and not boring but some people turn it to another thing.
2154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto Casino on: January 13, 2023, 04:15:16 AM
To get something from any sector, he must have knowledge in that particular sector. All of a sudden, without any experience, just taking part in betting will not bring success. Although we think of gambling as luck. In the view of OP, I feel that he may have failed to achieve success by gambling in a very short period of time, so he is somewhat disappointed. Gambling with a good understanding of the casino and the game can lead to positive results with repeated attempts. However, money that could cause a major disaster if lost, should never be used in gambling. Good gambling is possible if you think of it as entertainment rather than anything serious.
If you have a very good knowledge about gambling and you well understand the casino game or sport game that you are betting on, that does not mean that gambling is not a game of luck and either you are lucky or not. Only what can lead to a positive result in casino is when you just use the amount of money that is very small to bet and not going beyond your budget, like using $0.1 for each bet and not going beyond the money set weekly for gambling.  Gamblimg is not something that people should look for as a  way to make money for them not to be disappointed. Thinking of the entertaining aspect makes it fun just as you conclude it.
2155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: January 13, 2023, 04:06:36 AM
Actually, Chelsea didn't have enough morale boost in this game against Fulham. You know Chelsea are currently going through a really tough phase after the new coach, Graham Potter took over. On the other hand, on top of that last week they lost to Manchester City twice in a row. If they somehow managed to win this game against Fulham they could have brought back their morale boost but they failed to do so.
Chelsea can only try, but if the effort is not enough, they will still remain where they are. It was predicted that Chelsea will lost to Manchester City and people also guessed that Chelsea might lost to Fulham and which all happened. I do not know if it is the coach that is making things to happen like this, but it is good to replace a couch that is not able to lead a club to a higher level, Chelsea is lacking behind very much, there must be changes. Chelsea players needs to also work on themselves and understand each other.
2156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can we really make a living in sports betting? on: January 12, 2023, 07:27:04 AM
If we are talking about money where it's be sensitive to expose all the winning here, I think it could be hard to know and find a member who won and lives with sports betting. I often to see members who always prove the sport winning but rarely to see prove how much money has he won. then I believe a few of them live with that but it's not as the main job.
Only what may likely happen is a person that is rich that got no other way to make money than to be gambling and lost all his money and become poor. If you have money, use it for other things like businesses that can be profitable instead of using it for gambling. Just like you said, it is hard to see someone that will be living with gambling, that is not possible because that person's life is in danger. Gambling is not for any other thing than having fun but some people will take it to extra level of using it to make money and which can lead to a regret.
2157  Economy / Gambling / Re: Recommendations for Real Cryptocurrency Casinos on: January 12, 2023, 07:18:36 AM
I have not seen a casino that is only with normal money, but the advantage they have cryptocurrency casinos is that everything is faster, everything is done more easily and to withdraw, to deposit is easier, I trust Duelbits a lot, because it is a casino that has a good reputation and has many clients, and is very Well managed, they run contests and are trusted by well-known members of the forum, that's something that means a lot to me.
Are you sure? What about casinos like Stake and Sportbet? I think you can deposit fiat. There are also other crypto casinos that you can be able to deposit fiat too, but in a way that it is the money that you deposit that you will withdraw.

Duelbits is a very good gambling site, but there are also other good gambling sites on this forum like Trustdice, Livecasino, Rollbit, Roobet and some other ones too.
2158  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk on the phone? on: January 12, 2023, 07:08:23 AM
Use landscape, scroll and zoom a bit.
And get a computer for serious tasks, typing on a keyboard the size of a stamp is terrible.

In between alterative: a tablet.
It depends on the one you use frequently. Like me I prefer mobile phone and I type better on mobile phone than computer. Bitcointalk is very good and user's friendly on mobile phone too and I type fast because the phone is well calibrated. I do not know why that I prefer to use my mobile phone for online reasons than computer, I mean the ones phone can handle perfectly like bitcointalk.
2159  Other / Meta / Re: Bitcointalk on the phone? on: January 11, 2023, 08:33:03 PM
I use bitcointalk on mobile phone on Android and it is very good. I do not like it with Google chrome but I like it with Duckduckgo. To go for other browsers that are related with google, PHX browser and Via is good for it. If you want it to adapt to your phone format and make it more friendly with your phone, use UC browser, but that is annoying for me. These are browsers I can not advice people to use too, I prefer using bitcointalk on Duckduckgo, just like it is on computer, but you will have to magnify and scroll right and left but it is fun for me as I am used to it.
2160  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woman won $43million but was offered a steak dinner instead of her winnings on: January 11, 2023, 08:01:02 PM
Isn't this just the stupidest reason not to give her her winnings?
Couldn't they have known that their so-called machine was faulty before letting gamblers use it?
How could they do this to her?
They are liars, it is a very stupid reason, he suposoed to sue them to court which is what should have happened. Even if I will lose the case, I will try and sue them to court and let the judge decide by justice. They are lying which they also supposed to pay for in addition.

They do that to her because the money is large and they do not want to pay her.

According to the article the case was settled out of court so the casino and the client reached some sort of agreement already, it is unlikely it was for the full amount but at least she got paid something, however this should be a lesson, the casino asked her to leave and in my opinion this was done because at the time they were thinking about how avoid paying her, if anyone wins such a high amount they must remain there and begin to record everything so it can be used as evidence in a court of law if the casino decides to not pay.
But they should not lie to her, she supposed to sue them to court. The more it is getting to court the more the casino will increase the money to pay her. She won that amount and that is just it. Even if it would be settled out of court, she needs a laywer for that.
