2161  Economy / Economics / Re: Why you should use spare money to invest on: May 24, 2023, 05:53:14 PM
To play safe we must invest our spare cash, but if a person is accurate enough to observe the market and realize that it'll pump to a certain amount and yeild them profits they can invest more than their spare cash and wait for results. Though, it's risky but the higher the stake the bigger the profit, thats what ww should consider as well. Hence, the person that took the most risk will profit or loss more than the person who invested just his spare cash.
2162  Other / Meta / Re: Thread banners (SMF idea) on: May 24, 2023, 04:23:58 PM
The idea is clear and sound, but the point is, the thread could be hard to find, the current method of updating members helps to bump the signature thread to first page where members can easily click on the last page number and read the new update. If you implement such a feature, the manager will as well update their weekly payment ID there. So in a situation where the thread is on the no.3 page how would people get notified that there is a new update, unless the manager “bumps" the thread which is similar to what is happening now.
2163  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't be fool to keep it online, look my name on: May 24, 2023, 03:32:11 PM
It's all good to say that we need to be careful with our funds, but I just understood that you can't be always careful with cryptocurrency. Some people see open source wallets as the best, but we have to wait months for a developer to make a new update before we can download, just to be sure, especially for non developers. Hardware wallets also pose some vulnerabilities, the chips they use in building them can be compromised by hackers or even when a person gains access to the hardware they can take your funds. These are vulnerabilities in the cryptocurrency niche, but in all means keeping our keys is a good practice but avoiding exchanges as a way of keeping bitcoin doesn't absent us entirely from risks of losing money.
2164  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Happy to start bitcoin lifestyle. on: May 23, 2023, 06:37:38 PM
In a simple term, bitcoin lifestyle can be the use case of bitcoin, how people use bitcoin to solve their problems. Bitcoin has changed the way internet payment was in the past, and it also provided a room for investment, but it shouldn't be taken as the only possible investment. If you want to live the bitcoin lifestyle start doing something that'll help the growth of bitcoin or solve problem for bitcoin users, such as offering your skills and getting rewarded with bitcoin. Hence you must hold for longer period to be able to take the opportunity to another level; gaining more profits.
2165  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is money ruling the world? on: May 23, 2023, 06:15:41 PM
It's true that money does have enormous power, even money can destroy good relationships, even if it's a virgin relationship, money can change a person's character, money can buy happiness and can destroy that happiness too

If we let money control us it will really change our personality and our attitude towards bad things. But I don't believe that money can buy happiness, because true happiness is priceless.
Because there are many people around the world who achieve true happiness even if their money is not enough, in short, not all people are the same in that to live they need money. That's not true, because even if you have the most money in the world, when it comes to serious illness, the money you have can't heal you, even if you have piles of money. And even peace of mind cannot be bought with money.

I agree with you, money is money and hapiness is hapiness. It's time we stop interchanging the meaning of things. A person with no money can decide to be happy while a person with lots money can decide to be sad. They are many things better than money, which is man that controls the money, man has the power to set money ablaze its just a valuable paper. In addition, money can't buy tallness, intelligence and handsomeness. Money is just promoted to get lots of people out of the lane of other valuable things on earth. Many think money is the ultimate, that's why they feel empty when the money comes, because they can't understand why they labored so much for money. The world is too large to focus only on money.
2166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Pizza Day 2023 on: May 23, 2023, 07:50:31 AM
The bitcoin pizza day is always a remarkable celebration day in the bitcoin community, I could remember the forum member getting interviewed about how he feels that people celebrates the day he sold pizza for such a huge amount of bitcoin. The last two year's celebration was so lit with many people on social media talking about it. I guess it was because of the 2021 bull run, many people had a keen eye on bitcoin. Now the transaction fee is lesser, though not very fast, but the intuition of LN to people and store owners is also a great idea to keep them prepared against any congestion in future.
2167  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you still buying? on: May 21, 2023, 09:44:20 PM
It's always good to hodl bitcoin, aside that we need to be careful regarding profits, it's never a waste of money especially for the bitcoin community members who understands how bitcoin works. Halving is coming up soon, hodl or buying more is some of the best strategies for a now bearish cryptocurrency market. The bullish run could be massive or average, but it'll arrive and everyone will get rewarded according to the number of sats they have in their wallet.
2168  Economy / Services / Re: CV/Resume for BTC on: May 21, 2023, 09:04:24 PM
Sorry for bumping, but I'm in search of a cryptocurrency trader resume advice. What are the most important things to mention there? Maybe someone can provide me with an example? Any help is appreciated.

It's easier to gain the attention of the hiring manager, who ever will read the piece of paper, if you mention figures on your resume. Cryptocurrency trading deals on numbers, so numbers should be strategically sprinkled on the resume, like pepper, make it less not lesser. Busy hiring managers won't read all the sentences in the resume, hence numbers helps capture their interest, the reader is focusing to know your accomplishments and achievements.  Always add first your best crypto trading achievements, if possible insert it on your personal profile. It helps buy time for other responsibilities to be read on the experience section. Apply extra ordinary attention to your experience section, use % where possible. I'd advice you to insert your achievements after the first sentence on your responsibility; complex sentence. Make it short, but not too short.

E.g: Managed 2 portfolios with over 10k, while spending 5hours learning cryptocurrency mining, top executives recommended my trading enthusiasm.

Some people will do it this way

Managed 2 portfolios with over 10k
spent 5 hours learning cryptocurrency mining.

It's clear that joining 2 responsibilities together in a sentence will make the resume appealing to read, the fact HR don't have enough time to read all contents, doesn't open a window for 3 letter word sentences on your experience section. Endeavor that every role made it to the second line. It'll result to a concise resume easy to glance on and understand. Concentrate your skills on IT and Tech. Good luck!
2169  Other / Meta / Re: Forum Menbership- 3.5m registered only 56k members survived?..... Why? on: May 21, 2023, 02:07:06 PM
Bitcointalk will not likely banish or disappear in your specified year unless Theymos pull the plug or unless Bitcoin goes to zero which is unlikely.
With over 30k organic keywords that show up in the search engine Bitcoin and Bitcointalk will stay even if the last Bitcoin is mined and even if Theymos grandson inherits this forum, with many new discussions and threads added daily the organic traffic keeps coming.

Considering the number of backlinks listed on google search engine, the forum will forever gain lots of monthly organic traffics, old threads of this forum are linked on top DA sites which helps the forum rank easily on google for any cryptocurrency related question. As for the decline of forum members they're two things to consider. First, lots of special interest board contributors declined on the internet, people moved to social media where they get almost every information they need. In those days, many people used forums to share information and answer each other's question, if you check the early threads in the forum it's quite very rich in quality and solves lots of problems. On the second flip, people farm accounts in the forum, and members are entitled to create multiple accounts. Hence, if 100k members creates 5 accounts each, it's about 500k accounts just an estimate, so don't conclude that 3.5m users joined the forum, consider the fact that most users had more than 1 account. Good observation.

2170  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Whats required of me as a newbie in other to grow in this prestigious forum? on: May 21, 2023, 01:50:27 PM
Always provide value to the forum at all time, focus on being knowledgeable, such that you'll understand almost every discussion that is opened in the forum. Don't respond if you don't have enough information to share on the discussion. But, I'll advise you to create threads on helpful bitcoin tips for newbies, always check if such thread already exists before creating the thread. Duplicated threads can be removed or locked. If crawling all the sections in the forum is tiring, you can focus on few boards that seem easier to contribute and share your thoughts. In a short period, your account activity and brain will adapt to the forum. It get easier everyday, but a bit difficult to come back if you break the daily posting routine.
2171  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment, fulltime endeavor or side hustle? on: May 21, 2023, 01:06:02 PM
It's always wrong to close any source of income, unless you want to go all in on cryptocurrency trading. Then, I'll say you'd need absolute dedication to stay ahead of other traders in the market and make more profits. If the current work isn't providing you enough time to trade and the pay is nothing compared to what you make in bitcoin, then it's a decision that nobody can take for you. Although, going full time into side hustles sometimes gets boring especially when we just start the journey. Handling the both is also a better way of maintaining your financial security. Always have a second plan to fall back if bitcoin trading surprises you with a decline or losses. You can't predict the outcome of your investment unlike your office work, where you're sure of weekly, monthly or yearly payment.
2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sunday off-topic - If not "bitcoin", then what? on: May 21, 2023, 12:51:09 PM
The state of bit is represented with 0/1, yes or No. Increase or decrease should be the state of bitcoin, the fact that the coin adds and substrates in value makes it a good name for the coin. Additionally, it's a computer generated coin and mined through the computer, everything about the coin revolves around the computer and zeros and one remains the only language that the computer understands.  The name is very brand able and easy to remember; lots of people easily remember the name when being mentioned for the first time, it must have taken just a few thoughts to come up with the name.
2173  Economy / Economics / Re: Helpful mineral resources on: May 21, 2023, 12:35:29 PM
Africans are blessed with a lot of minerals that if this resources are gainfully used for benefit of their citizens, this God given resources would add colours to Africans. Countries in Africans like Nigeria, Serial Leone, Ghana, kenya, south Africa and lots more you will a lot of natural resources either misused or abandon by government and even if they see need to use them, is either abused or mismanaged. Petrol in Nigeria till today is been refined outside country and still import back to Nigeria on a high price, lots of minerals like coals, salt, kerosene, gas, petroleum and so on but no appropriate handling of this resources, so even the citizens can not benefit from it. If Africa can make use of their resources well, they will be more independent, free from indebtedness and indirect colonial system of other countries.
There are many countries just like Africa in the world that had not established there mineral resources they have because of bad government, mismanagement, conflicts, poor education and many things that is why it still look like some countries in Africa are not fit to stand as an independent country because of lack of knowledge and necessary tools to establish a market for the raw materials they got from the nature. There are many countries suffering I'm Africa because of bad government which had mad the entire country looks very poor.

Africa is not getting enough supports from their colonies who capitalize on the natural resources in Africa ever since they colonized Africa and still have influence on the companies that work with the raw materials in Africa. Nigeria is an example of an oil producing country under the influence of Britain on their oils. Shell is owned by them and they still make loads of money through the oil company, that's why it seems like no refinery operates in the country. The price of those minerals is very expensive for citizen of Nigeria, which is not proper, they should be enjoying cheaper prices on petrol. The Government takes the blame, but they see what the citizens can't understand, instead of losing out they take their own personal share of the resources and move on while it lasts. Their colonies still have an eye on them.
2174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Budget For Halving on: May 20, 2023, 08:03:33 PM
Bitcoin is not an investment to trust with loaned money. It'll put you under pressure, which may affect your blood pressure because it's not under your control. I'd say that you invest gradually what you've got, investing 90k on bitcoin is great, but when market price drops it'll affect your investment drastically just like you'll earn if it pumps. It's a top investment risk and that's not acceptable to place yourself on such a situation. I've read in the past about a person that lost lots of money after loaning money to trade bitcoin and lost everything, including his house and wife's money. If the money is for hodling for a longer period, it'll be better, but the lender may need their funds within 6 months or a year and bitcoin doesn't skyrocket in a way that can be predicted. Op invest the spare cash you've got.
2175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A Gambling Operator Court Case on: May 20, 2023, 07:35:25 PM
Believe or Not there’s a real life story that user manage to get a compensation from a casino due to the court ruling in favor of the gambler. If anyone remember the story of Christian Hainz agains a Swiss casino. He loss $3 million in the casino due to his addiction. He accused the casino that they are manipulating him and use his addiction to take advantage on him for not stopping him too early.

The court ruling about the manipulation allegation makes Hainz get a compensation of 500K USD which is not bad to recover some of his loss.

Some court is considerate on cases like gambling addiction. This is the worst nightmare of a casino in an event that the judge is in favor to the victim while they have an incompetent attorney to make their case.

You can read the story number as source for this info: https://greatbridgelinks.com/5-gamblers-who-won-casino-lawsuits/

Why is it that people sue the house after numerous losses? The gambler somehow had a better lawyer than the Swiss casino, unless the Swiss casino wrote on their terms and condition that they'll stop addicts from staking so much money, then the gambler has a better chance over the casino. A gambler that staked 3million dollars at a go, should be cautious of his expenses while gambling. What if he won most of the games and made more profits would he complain that the house didn't stop him? on the other hand, if he spent that amount on night club would he sue the club owner for not stopping him from buying expensive wines? things get tricky when it comes to casino, due to addicts.
2176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where is Satoshi? on: May 19, 2023, 09:42:56 PM
Satoshi is somewhere living his best life without any internet access, I don't think some of these little disputes can bring Satoshi out to say he's Satoshi and would want to make adjustments to the troubles on the Bitcoin network. This is not the first time the network had such issues, the fees rise sometimes and drops due to network congestion as explained above. And it's not bad to transact with alternate coins if the bitcoin network delays so much, most of them came through bitcoin too. Many people used altcoins until the fees dropped to some reasonable amounts, then they moved back to bitcoin. However, the fees of previous weeks was really terrifying on bitcoin users.
2177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 💥😮Ripple Launches CBDC Platform For Banks, Governments🏦 on: May 19, 2023, 09:22:40 PM
I see it as a way ripple wants to tap from the CBDC trend, they've been making some steps, after gaining fair few victories over the US SEC, buying new assets to support the XRP ecosystem. The ecosystem has suffered decline for a long time and they're working hard to revive it and gain stronger hands in the cryptocurrency market. Considering the fact that banks and governments would always welcome a CBDC idea, they'll take it from there and be a better medium for banks and governments to work with an experienced company in the digital currency niche. Ripple has the chance to grow, but it'll take them some time to boost their growth and they've spent so much money with the court case with the US SEC. I've followed ripple for long and looking out to see what would be the outcome of this decision.
2178  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Factors that's why others are hesitant to start in crypto on: May 19, 2023, 09:00:07 PM
Mentioning money as a factor why people delay their motives of investing into cryptocurrency is quite true, but that doesn't stop anyone if they're determined to exhaust energy and work to get bitcoin. When money is the barrier, energy is always there to make space for more opportunities. All over many marketplaces, people offer services for bitcoin and that's a good way to start investing into cryptocurrency. So, in a way, money shouldn't be the reason why a person won't invest into cryptocurrency. However, plenty of money is required to get high profits and loss in the market, yet starting from somewhere is better than ignoring the investment entirely despite being interested in the market.
2179  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Transfer bitcoins without internet on: May 19, 2023, 08:37:24 PM
It has been discussed somewhere in the forum and a user recommended https://blockstream.com/satellite/ where you can configure any satellite antenna in your area to receive signals from the blockstream satellite network and transact bitcoin free of charge without any internet. You'll just have to set it up, position the antenna to face the sky, and read carefully their main page, the requirements and help. The blockchain technology keeps advancing, people shouldn't bother about some barriers, as most barriers are being worked on by developers and settled to avoid future dispute, which may erupt from the government.
2180  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit exit from the forum, leason for newbies on: May 19, 2023, 08:01:30 PM
The only lesson to learn on 1xbit is that newbies should read their threads before participating in the casino or playing on the casino. I've never seen any 1xbit campaign thread or promoter that doesn't have a warning tag or negative feedback, so newbies should focus mainly on reading those feedback, It'll save them from the risk of moving ahead to stake games on 1xbit casino. I don't remember, for sometimes, seeing members who wear 1xbit signature, but never thought of it that they've left the forum for good. Their campaign accepts members with negative feedback and it's the main reason why many users with trust issues always promote them for money despite knowing how deceitful the casino is to players.
