2161  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: A little profit for $17k+ buyers on: July 23, 2022, 09:32:47 PM
If I were to guess, it's a relief pump just to balance out the over-bearishness. People have been racking up so much leveraged shorts that they needed to be taken out first.

With that said, looking at price pumps at the previous bear market, something like $30k for the short term-mid term isn't impossible. Probably a good temporary long position.
It’s more on a good pump after a long bad dumps that is happening in such a bearish market. People have stay positive all the way so I guess this kind of relief is what we deserve for. Although there is still no assurance that bitcoin won’t drop its price again, but most likely when it comes to bitcoin, its position is bound to move upward and that no one can stop it. If people are selling nowadays, they could have made less profits, but I just hope they will consider bitcoin as a long term investment.

This is like what the rumors(I call it rumors because it's not confirmed yet) am hearing that the government of my country wants to withdraw a certain amount of money from the bank account of each and every citizen of the country in order to settle the dept the country is owing other countries.
Upon the arrival of this rumor, many in the country have panicked and went ahead to withdraw all the money they had in their bank account to God knows where, I on the other hand have used all my fiat saving to by Bitcoin plus other promising coins and kept them in my private wallet, this is something I've learnt to do every day, week or month, depending on how I earn fiat money.

Governments and central banks through fiat have learnt to control their citizens and bring them under financial subjection and slavery, Bitcoin has come to show the way to Freedom, it's time we break free.
People should have done it long before and have never saved a lot of fiat in their bank account only to find out that they could be taken advantage of by the government and circulate the funds to create more interest. That way, they are using our own money for their own prosperity. Now, if we want to stay out of it, then put some portion of your hard earned money into bitcoin, and some of them you can keep it or also invest in other types of businesses outside the crypto market.
2163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 22, 2022, 08:44:30 PM
No surprised with the odds for Lopez, it seems that sport bookies has totally put him in front with that huge odds. Again, this is just an early list, so it's better to look for other options.

And most likely Lopez will win in this fight, just a matter on how, knock out or stoppage perhaps? We shall see. And for sure, fans or not, we will to see Lopez after his defeat with Kambosos and see if he still has the fire inside and can make a comeback in this division.

If you'd ask me, it is a bit early to make a bet on this fight as I'm certain there will be some changes soon, usually I'd like to place mine days or few hours before the fight schedule. But yes, we will surely see how will Lopez finish Campa and see if there's some changes on his style or some improvement. I just hope that he got some two or more lessons from his recent defeat against Kambosos that will make him much stronger.

If in any case this fight will move in the opposite direction, I don't know what to say anymore about Lopez. I mean, Campa is also a decent boxer but Teo have the capabilities needed to defeat Campa.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 22, 2022, 08:13:03 PM
So far I'm hearing the Miami Heat is on the move targeting either KD or Mitchell. I hope the Heat acquires either one of them.

If the Heat would want their team better, they should sign Durant instead of Mitchell. Although Mitchell is a superstar but he does not have a championship DNA and has not proven anything yet as Jazz under his leadership has not reach the NBA finals yet.

The latest word is that Mitchell may be headed to the New York Knicks. Although I can’t imagine the Knicks landing a player like him.

The more time that passes, the more I think we might actually see KD in Brooklyn next year with Kyrie and Ben Simmons. I don’t think the Nets will trade just one without the other, so all eyes are on what the Lakers will do with Russell Westbrook.

That might be the case too, we've been talking these trade rumors even before the NBA Summer League started and until now both Durant and Irving are still on the same position. The Brooklyn Nets are taking priority to trade Durant first but there's no team yet in the league that could match what the Nets wanted in exchange for Durant which is kind of reasonable because Durant can really get a title for team if he will have a good supporting players and a co-alpha in the team.
2165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 21, 2022, 11:12:01 PM
I it not about having options only.

It is about making it fast and without problems. Preferably decentralized.

freebitco.in for example is rarely doing manual inspections and every other withdrawal request is fully automated. If you have a rock solid, hack-free casino you can do this too. Otherwise you'll have to manually check almost every withdrawal request which is going to frustrate the players and then naturally they will leave this casino.

That's right. The speed of withdrawals also matters. Due to the fact that we gamble on crypto gambling sites, we are used to withdrawals being processed in a short period of time, so any delay could be a cause for concern or an unnecessary panic, and that is definitely not a good situation to find yourself in. After all, crypto gambling sites are a business, too, so they do not want customers leaving due to certain concerns. So you want to make the withdrawals fast, right?

By the way, when a casino puts restrictions on withdrawing money from your account, that means you are at their mercy, and therefore no longer in control. You no longer have the option to use your money whenever you want and how you want it. And freedom of choice is a key factor when it comes to something as important as money.

They are just taking advantage to us and try to get control with how we choose to spend our winnings upon withdrawal, seems like they just want us to deposit and deposit without getting the benefit to choose what we wanted about it or play games after winning huge so that they can have a chance that the money will be back to them.

Nevertheless, any gambler will agree that a reputable casino won't give the users a hard time withdrawing their funds/winnings because they can also see if a deposit has been made and the user played a game to explain the big funds being requested to withdraw.

Putting more restrictions and give a hard time to the users will just a push factor to lose a client, for good.
2166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: July 21, 2022, 10:42:29 PM
I do not think those who are hooked up with gambling would go for such apps. They play with real money because that gives them excitement and satisfaction. Whatever the end result playing with real money takes you to another level when you earn profit.

Those who want to know how gambling works can try these apps but, they will get bored after sometimes as it will become monotonous. There is also a chance that some might try with non fake money and they might then get addicted.

Any gambler wouldn't be interested in such apps as it will be just a total waste of time if they take some time to try and play it without getting any real money, and probably it will be really boring as excitement and satisfaction factor is not there as well as the entertainment it could bring. I see these kind of apps as a demo to test some strategies and good for starters who's looking forward to have their 1st activity in a real deal but to be alternative? I guess not.
2167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 21, 2022, 10:12:56 PM

Of course, if he didn't train that hard Campa might pull upset again on Teo Lopez and he doesn't want that to happen.

If that will happen then that might be the end of his journey in the new division that he tries to be a champion. He need this fight, though it looks like a tune-up fight but he cannot be too complacent here as Campa is definitely not an easy opponent.

Lopez is definitely aware of that because a loss in this fight will determine his career as it will give it a negative hype, people will criticize him if he will lost in a supposed tune-up fight and people won't also celebrate if he wins by a decision because this is just a tune-up fight for him, what he should do is to dominate Campa throughout the fight and it will be much better if he can go for a KO.
If Lopez will be weaker, Campa will take that as an advantage to add Lopez to his record.
2168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 21, 2022, 09:29:15 PM
I cannot really say that he's been out of his prime because he is still at the right age to do the same performance, it's just that he's now unable to do what he used to because NBA changed the rules because of the way he plays. For me, it was quite unfair to change it because NBA is not about all talent and sometimes it requires more IQ to outsmart the talented ones.
But yea, the rule has already changed. Harden needs to move on and do all the things he can improve because he is now on a team that could bring him his first ever championship ring that he wanted since then. Let's just give the man a chance before we conclude that he was already out of his prime.
He is one of the guards that was hit hard by the rule change regarding the fouls. Others were Trae and Steph.
He cannot do that hook style anymore for the defender to commit a foul and then other kinds of stuff which are mostly outside shots after a bump.
Yes, he had a hard time adjusting but I do believe he is not yet at the age to be out of his prime, the speed may not be the same but he had the experience to patch it up.
Doc Rivers will make him a playmaker and Maxie will be the runner if they need a fastbreak but most of their offense will surely come from Embiid and who will be best to make the assist, Harden it is.

Indeed, that's why we're not seeing Harden producing the same digits that he used to in the last 2 seasons. Trae, Steph and the others are also affected by it but there is no doubt that Harden was the most affected player among them because he already poured almost his entire career about that play and he's really good at it.
It's just that he needs to move on while he can still have a room for improvement so that he can have at least 1 ring before he retire soon, this time he have a good chance on acquiring it because he had a good team mates who is also leaning the same way.
2169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This clearly damage the gambling. on: July 21, 2022, 04:42:44 PM
I knew of one case where 2 lower division clubs in Georgia were caught for match-fixing. These clubs were fined only $3k each. That's all the punishment. At the same time no one knows how much money they were able to earn through dishonest means. Therefore, such games will occur often, because the punishment is too weak.

Strange punishment. Probably this case remained at the "local" level because any sports federation would have issued a tougher punishment for the clubs that were caught on fixed games. Maybe it was some kind of scandal without direct evidence, so the clubs were fined on some formal pretext, but the underlying crime was not proven. However, it is obvious that the smaller the level of competition, the more chaos, corruption and dirty deeds.
Most cases happen in low level competition or local as you say, rigging games in that situation will be an easy job for them even if the sport is known because they have the advantage over it and they have the control and connections needed.

The people watching it will of course say that there's cheating but the organization behind it don't have to worry because it's just a local competition and the people will eventually forget it or they will keep it under wraps and bribe the complainant.

Quote
I can't see an option. - bad gambler.
I am a bad gambler -I have lost so much money in gambling and in lending - people have fooled me like crazy. I repent on being misused by the people.

Sometimes we really have to cut ties with people who are only taking advantage of us because they will pull us down. I've learned that through my experience for years. I've also given too much favor to people around me but I ended up losing everything I had. You might haven't been too lucky in lending and gambling but at least life taught you a lesson.
And that is the most important thing right there because now you're much more experienced person, practically speaking, don't get yourself in casinos because you already know that it is not your kind of thing and you're not lucky with it and only do gambling when you're just seeking an entertainment so that you can always call it a day anytime you wanted.
Friends can be a lot but there is only few of them is real and we can really rely when we need them, we should know to cut them because they are not helping nor lifting us to be a better person. They will be just present when we have everything but we when we don't have anything to offer, we cannot find them because that is the harsh truth of life (speaking from experience).
2171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Gambling companies can get more users to deposit. on: July 20, 2022, 08:42:12 PM
That's why there are online casinos where you can deposit cryptocurrencies and that's making things easier. You won't be a subject for KYC at the beginning until you are required to do so when you're hitting and winning big.
a common way of gambling sites to scam players , its just not obvious but the truth is? this is scam because why imposing the KYC when hitting big wins considering that the players constantly depositing and withdrawing for long time but eventually requiring KYC because they are looking for a chance for them not to get their money.
Casinos do that to prevent gamblers who win big money from withdrawing those winnings. By all means, they will force KYC on those gamblers and we know that they have successfully blocked many accounts of such gamblers. But I believe a reputable casino will not do that and if a gambler wins a lot of money, maybe they will still allow it because there is nothing suspicious about that gambler. But for a scam casino, I don't think they will because they don't want to see any money coming out of their site.

The casino will try all methods they know to keep attracting more gamblers, especially those who do not have much experience depositing more money to their site.

That is what I'm trying to say in almost threads about KYC that I bumped here in this forum, casinos are truly taking advantage of KYC to avoid clients from withdrawing the funds after winning big. I have thought of reasons why they are frequently introducing KYC even if it's clear that we've deposited to their site from time to time, first is that they just want us to bring those winnings to their site again by playing games and second is that they just don't want to withdraw our winnings to spend it on some other things that we wanted, as you said.
I agree, reputable casinos won't do this after having a history of deposits on our account.
2172  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An alternative to gambling with money. on: July 20, 2022, 08:06:59 PM
I don't know if some people prefer play/fake money to avoid losing real money. For me, using fake/play money on gambling apps is not boring but there are times that I spend some real money to buy fake/play money though only a small amount of real money. So for me, it is not the best alternative to avoid not losing money but it does help to avoid losing how much you lose in a gambling site with real money.
Agree, If gambler knows that he will not get anything from this bet definitely the gambler will not play the game or bet. I realize that they just play or gamble due to making money. If it is absent or unlikely to be available then no gambler would be encourage to use it.

First of all, if an app is not receiving or giving any real money like a real casino then that said app cannot be called as one of gambling app that existed because gambling refers to the use of real money and not fake ones. Also, I really do bet that gamblers are not inclined of using these apps even if the reason is to test a technique that they could use in real gambling where there is real money of course and the same goes for gamblers who are trying to quit the said activity because that will not really benefit them nor help them quit.
2173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Teofimo Lopez vs Pedro Campa - Aug 13 on: July 20, 2022, 07:35:14 PM
Just like Ryan Garcia, he had some tune-up fight before the big fight, so this is probably the same because, in order for Lopez to challenge the champion, he should achieve a good ranking to be a mandatory challenger. I believe he will not be having a hard time achieving it, it only take a little time.

For a long time, weak opponents were selected for Garcia in order to raise him in the rankings, I'm still interested in seeing him fight with a worthy opponent.
If you read this topic, you get the impression that two equal opponents will fight, but if you even look at the odds of the bookmakers, it becomes clear that Campa just has no chance against Lopez. It's clear that Lopez needs to first adapt to the new category and try his hand at weaker opponents before fighting with champion.

And Ryan Garcia has successfully delivered a KO victory to his fans against Javier Fortuna who clearly didn't expected the kid's speed and power and while he's been interviewed by Chris Mannix of DAZN, we can really see how happy Oscar De La Hoya with the result and he was even happier when Garcia made a statement and called Tank Davis for a fight because that would really mean more money for Oscar.

Anyway back to this fight, the same motive. This match has the aim of preparing Lopez for a much heavier name or champion-caliber that will be his opponent soon in the industry, the only difference is that Pedro Campa is not the kind of boxer like Tagoe that Ryan Garcia has faced.
2174  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 20, 2022, 06:57:39 PM
Harden will be 33 this August and after 2 years, he might be leaving his prime and his body will start to deteriorate and will be slower. If Harden is that desperate to win a title, he must do it in the upcoming season or next season or his chances to win will decrease. Harden's performance in the Sixers last season isn't the same as he is in Houston or even in Brooklyn. I hope that him and Embiid will be a good duo now that they have more time playing together and I hope both of them will not get any injuries because both of them are injury-prone.

The addition of Tucker is good actually because he is a good defensive player and a decent three-point shooter.

Harden has already been out of his prime for at least two seasons. In addition, his performance in the past playoffs was one of the worst in his career. By the way, it seemed to me Embiid was also disappointed in Harden, given that Joel said that Harden is no longer the same as he was in the Rockets. Anyway, it will still be interesting to see if Harden is able to improve his performance and win the first title next season or not.

2175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are we gradually approaching towards the end of Bitcoin? on: July 18, 2022, 09:13:47 PM
With the continuous downslide of the Bitcoin and the crypto market at large, is it too soon to say that we might likely be witnessing the end of it all?

Yes, it is too soon to say.  This isn't the first time Bitcoin had a huge crash.  Every 4 years Bitcoin is experiencing this bear market and it often drops to 20% of its current ATH.   If you zoom out the Bitcoin Market chart, you will see that the market is very far from being over and still in a positive trend in reference to its beginning.
Apparently, bitcoin is currently experiencing a price surge so believing that bitcoin will come to its end is always a fake news. Bitcoin has never survived its existence for a decade combatting all the negative attacks if it will only fall as easy as this. Of course, we can always expect for a price crash if the market is in deep bearish, but once it starts to recover, then bitcoin will also start to show its progress and price starts to skyrocket too.
2176  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reason why I put all my money in Bitcoin as a newbie on: July 18, 2022, 08:13:44 PM
We should think more about the risk of having all your investments in one single portfolio, such as bitcoin. Bitcoin happens to be the most reliable cryptocurrency for investment but at the same time, Bitcoin is a highly volatile asset. So I will still advise you to diversify your portfolio into multiple sources.

I think he's just talking about bitcoin and other altcoins in the crypto space. It isn't wrong to put all of your money into bitcoin without using altcoins, which is something that a lot of newbies do not do.

Diversifying a portfolio from multiple sources is essential, cryptocurrencies are not a 100% safe environment and will always generate profits. So we will also have to invest in other areas besides cryptocurrencies.
Bitcoin is a good choice for safe and profitable long term investment but knowing the market is highly volatile, that makes bitcoin price too prone to fall. So if its hard for you to see bitcoin price consistently fall, as well as with the rest of altcoins, then diversifying your investments through stocks, real estate, or bonds may also be a good choice. At least, when one investment falls, you still have other sources of investment to generate profits.
2177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Roller coasters!!! on: July 18, 2022, 07:44:05 PM
Whales have no control over it during the bearish market. It's not the whale but the global economic has been pushing people to dump their tokens and exchange it to the cash or fiat money to keep their value from the volatility. You must also aware if there are some crypto companies that already collapse and even venture capital like 3ac was also going bankrupt as well. That proves that if the world is not yet fine for now. The roller coaster may still continue if another bad news will come very soon. prepare yourself.

Well, we should have known in the first place that the whole crypto market is like a roller coaster, one time they're up, the next they fall down. And volatility keeps it from doing so. However, there are big whales that come to take advantage when the market is especially bearish, but they have no control when the market turns into deep bearish since its the worldly events that gets to influence the market more. When there are inevitable negative events that are happening in the market, expect that the market will follow a roller coaster moves.
2178  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can trading be likened to gambling and how so? on: July 17, 2022, 09:28:48 PM
Trading (can be the same with investing) being gambling or not will completely depend on the person if he/she is actually making informed decisions or are just going at it haphazardly. Trading is obviously far closer to gambling though, due to short-term movements being A LOT more unpredictable.
Trading and gambling are closely related but they are not totally alike. While gambling mostly end up in losing, regardless if you are a pro or not, losses will always be inevitable. However, trading becomes more like gambling too if you only trade without setting a target. Its like you only trade because you feel so, because you think the market is good to trade, but without good market analysis and real strategies to gain, your trading will always end up like gambling.
2179  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Strong Hands Are Buying on: July 17, 2022, 08:58:09 PM
Well, that's not surprising. Good deals are made by buying cheap, and now is a time when Bitcoin is cheap. We can't know i the next few months it could go lower, I wouldn't rule it out, but we are definitely in a clear buy zone if you plan to hold bitcoin for the long term. Uninformed retail investors usually do the opposite: they bought above $60-69k and sold recently.
Well, if you want to stay longer in crypto market like all those strong hands do,  then always follow their movement in crypto. And right now, strong hands are taking advantage on the market while bitcoin price is certainly cheap. Indeed, this is a time for accumulation while seeing the market value continue to drop. However, not all have managed to endure the pressure and stress, others are tempted to sell at a loss.

The article Fivestar4everMVP just caught my attention as well.
This is a warning to all investors, especially newcomers, not to trust anyone when involved in the cryptocurrency industry. Always be wary of airdrops or free rewards from a certain stranger regardless of whether it is a member of the project or even the CEO of the project. Always verify airdrops or strange links by sending them to the project's official telegram channel so that everyone can verify their transparency.

Additionally, we should use the new wallet instead of the wallet where we store our assets to participate in the airdrop.
In this type of business, money is at stake so as much as possible we should learn to take caution in everything we do. Be wary not to open private links as it could lead to scamming, and yes send it to the official group you belong so they can warn you if ever its a red flag. And learn not to fully trust anyone but only yourself. Scamming is now becoming a norm, so we should learn to protect our account, our funds as much as we can.
