2161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Disorder ? on: March 08, 2022, 06:11:03 AM
Quote
This made me go further in the article to find more about Gambling disorder, according to the current education, it's categorized under impulsive disorder, in the US they are actually treated with medicine like : Mood stabilizers, Opioids, antidepressants and antipsychotic pills.

I guess that "big pharma" is really desperate to sell more drugs and make more money from of the poor gambling addicts. This is just as predatory as some parts of the gambling industry. Angry
I don't really think that gambling addiction can be cured with drugs, pills and remedies. It can be cured only by therapy and by the desire of the gambling addict to solve his mental problem and to get out of his toxic condition.
It has been proven multiple times that some antidepressants can lead to addiction.
Nobody can solve a gambler's problem,by turning one addiction into another.

2162  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and Ukraine war on: March 08, 2022, 05:51:34 AM
Are you seriously asking why the oil price is going up?
There are concerns about Russia cutting the oil supply to Europe.Reduced supply+higher or static demand means a higher oil price. This is just law of supply and demand.Bitcoin has nothing to do with this.
The western investors might not like buying Bitcoins, because a big percentage of BTC miners are located in Russia and Kazakhstan, which means that Russia might try to crash the BTC price,by imposing a ban over the BTC miners. However, this is just a hypothesis.
Gold and commodities will beat BTC as a safe heaven assets and more speculative investors will forget about Bitcoin(for a while) and jump on the commodity markets.I hope that Bitcoin will start growing after the war is over.
2163  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank’s failure on: March 07, 2022, 12:12:37 PM
The support for banking is still felt all over the world even in Russia that they got banned from Swift, you can still see queues around the bank and ATM despite the awareness that Russian banks don't have money. The banks still relevant another instance with the banks in Russia, after the remover just recently the Russian government now making plans to trade with China. The bank is still a huge institution that the world is relying on for global trading.

1.Not all Russian banks are excluded from Swift.AFAIK,the biggest Russian bank Sberbank wasn't excluded from the SWIFT system.
2.The banking system will remain strong in the upcoming decades.People will always have the need to borrow money.
3.People aren't really that dependent of the banks. You can deposit money into a bank,if you want to.Nobody is forcing you to do that. You can use bank loans and credit cards if you want to.Nobody is forcing you to borrow money and use credit cards.Saying that the people are innocent victims of those greedy predatory bankers is pretty much an oversimplification. There are greedy bankers for sure, but nobody in the world would force you to use a bank.Probably your employer could force you to make a bank account,in order to receive your salary, but you could just withdraw the money.
2164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: March 07, 2022, 11:48:49 AM

Ronaldo is a very ambitious player and considering how many golden balls he has, it is clear that he wants to win more.
But apparently it will be very difficult to win any trophies with this Manchester. At the same time, it should be noted that the composition of the team is excellent, capable of beating anyone.
The main mystery is why they won't hire a top coach? Why they hire a very average coach for such a top team?
Manchester is a team with money and a name, they could hire almost any coach on the market (well, maybe except Guardiola and Klopp) and it was unclear why they hired Rangnick.

Jose Mourinho was a top coach, but he failed at Manchester United.Louis Van Gaal failed as well.
Why they hired Ralf Rangnick remains a mystery. If Rangnick is truly a temporary manager, why didn't they just keep Michael Carrick until the end of the season? Why didn't the Man United owners just keep Solskjaer?
The results would have been pretty much the same.It seems that Ralf Rangnick isn't any better than Carrick and Solskjaer.
The only top tier manager they could hire is probably Zidane(if he really wants to lead an English team).
Anyway, great game from Manchester City. They will continue to dominate the Premier League until the end of the season and in the upcoming years.

2165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Usdt are safeheaven to avoid volatility and goverment restrictions on: March 07, 2022, 06:18:40 AM
OP praising Tether remains me of a bunch of older forum accounts, that were just shitposting and spamming on the forum praising stablecoins.Perhaps this is the same guy, just using another alt account.
Tether is just tied to the US dollar and the US dollar will be losing value for sure.Basically USDT is the same shit as USD.There's no added value in USDT,in comparison to the USD.
For some reason the USD increased it's value in my country, due to the Russian invasion in Ukraine.
I'm sure that this increase in value will be temporary. What if Russia,China and India stop using USD in their foreign trade?I'm sure that the USD will lose a lot of it's value,if such event occurs.

2166  Economy / Gambling / Re: What's the new big Cryptocasino to use for a UK player on: March 07, 2022, 05:58:35 AM
Hi Guys,
I used to use Stake.com Allot, but this a while ago, wonder if there's any good competitors for a UK player using a VPN. Haven't gambled in a while and want to use a new site!
Any new good competitors? I also have a swedish passport so i managed to do one of the KYC's for Stake and it was never an issue.
Thanks!!!

I don't get it.Are you just too lazy to do your own research, instead of asking someone to give you information?
Can't you just browse around the forum and take a look at all announcements posts and scam accusations?
What are the benefits that a "new" crypto casino would give,in comparison to an "old" crypto casino?
Aren't both new and old crypto casinos basically offering the same variety of games, the same user experience?
Why do you have to use a VPN?Are there any gambling restrictions in the UK?I though that the UK is a pretty "gambling friendly" country.
2167  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a means to restore people's authority over money on: March 07, 2022, 05:38:53 AM
I think that you are writing a bunch of speculations here.
Thinking that the majority of the Russians will buy Bitcoin to protect their wealth is just a speculation.
Bitcoin isn't guaranteed to provide protection against inflation and Bitcoin isn't a safe heaven asset.
I don't know what exactly do you mean by "restoring people's authority over money"?
For centuries, the money supply was a monopoly of the state. The people had nothing to do with this.
I think that the people never had any authority over the money supply. The governments and the elites had power to control the money supply.Perhaps Bitcoin will change this, but do you think that the ordinary BTC user has any power and authority over Bitcoin?Only the big miners and crypto whales have true power over Bitcoin.
2168  Economy / Economics / Re: War save economy here is how on: March 06, 2022, 11:43:51 AM
OP,do you use Google Translate?I can barely understand what you are trying to say with your post.
Wars can boost the revenue of the military-industrial complex.Countries and the people buy more weapons during wars. This means that the military-industrial complex gets bigger income, which means more jobs in the factories, that are producing weapons. This is the only "positive" thing about war. There's nothing else.
Your theory about destroyed countries needing loans to rebuild their infrastructure and industry is partially right, but I don't think that rebuilding something that was destroyed counts as economic development.
2169  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for March on: March 06, 2022, 11:25:59 AM
It seems that the market will continue being volatile and turbulent. The price cannot break above 40K,despite the two attempts in the previous two weeks.
For some reason many traders are selling BTC.Is this panic selling,or they just buy BTC,and sell it fast,in order to gain a currency they want(perhaps fiat)? Is this caused by the war in Ukraine?I don't know.Probably.
The current situation cannot help for building a steady FOMO and pumping the Bitcoin price back to 50-60K.
I knew that February and March are going to be bearish or stagnant months for Bitcoin, but I'm still optimistic about April,May and June.

2170  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic effects after Russia blocks Facebook, Twitter, etc.! on: March 06, 2022, 06:16:10 AM
Economic effects of Russia blocking FB and Twitter? What economic effects? Most of the people aren't making money via social media websites. They just use social media for communication and wasting their free time.If FB,Twitter,Whatsapp,Instagram and Messenger get blocked, there are alternatives.Telegram still isn't blocked and what about Discord or Slack. They could use the Tor network as an alternative as well.I'm sure that Facebook bans users for using VPNs.
Not all Russian banks are excluded from SWIFT.The Filipino workers in Russia could simply switch the bank,or even use crypto(if they know how to use it).
The power of all those western sanctions is a little bit exaggerated. They will damage the Russian economy, but I don't think that they will trigger some kind of economic disaster in Russia.
2171  Economy / Gambling / Re: [GUIDE] 10 complete steps for new casino into this forum on: March 06, 2022, 05:50:18 AM
That's a pretty good list, but most of things mentioned in the list are just common sense.
Every person(or a team),that wants to start a crypto casino is probably aware or these points.
Creating a finished and fully functional website>buying copper membership/creating good ANN post>starting a signature campaign>providing customer service and answering questions/solving problems. This is just common sense.
However,I'm overwhelmed by the amount of unprofessional announcement threads and not-fully-functional casinos being promoted here on the forum. Some people need to understand, that half-assing everything is NOT the path to success.Attention to detail is the key to every successful business.
2172  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Centralised Exchanges are the Biggest Enemies of Bitcoin on: March 06, 2022, 05:29:32 AM
Centralized cryptocurreny exchanges have one big advantage-they are user friendly.
Their biggest disadvantage is that you don't have full control over your coins.
You have to understand the centralized exchanges are simply companies, who are complying with the rules, which were imposed by the governments, like KYC or paying taxes over crypto earnings.
CEX have helped a lot for Bitcoin/crypto adoption,so I can't say that they are biggest enemy of Bitcoin/crypto.
The biggest enemies of BTC/crypto are the FUDsters and BTC/crypto haters.
Most of the governments are neutral towards crypto.

2173  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake charging $3.09 on a $1.69 withdraw on: March 04, 2022, 06:11:59 AM
I don't know why OP is complaining about 3 dollars. This isn't the end of the world.People were scammed on crypto casinos and cryptocurrency exchange platforms, losing thousands of dollars worth of crypto.
OP,you should have read the Terms of Service,Privacy policy and FAQ of Stake, before dealing with deposits and withdrawals. There's a saying "Always read the fine print",because in the fine print you might find terms and conditions that you might not like. Sad

2174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Btc price controlled by they might satsoshi on: March 04, 2022, 05:52:53 AM
Grayscale is not a bank.AFAIK,US banks are "under the Federal Reserve".
Grayscale is supposed to be under the Security and Exchange Commission(SEC).However,I'm not an expert on the US financial system and the US legislation regarding financial institutions.
If the BTC price is really controlled by the USA,why don't you send a petition to the Federal Reserve, asking them to pump the price to 100K USD or even a million. Grin
Assuming that those people you mentioned know who Satoshi is.So what?Does this even matter at this point?
I cannot take your conspiracy theory seriously.
2175  Economy / Economics / Re: What if Russia economy grows higher after the war on: March 03, 2022, 11:43:34 AM
What will happen if at the end Russia succeed in her conquest against Ukraine and take over the economy of Ukraine. That will extend the economic power of Russia no doubt and that will make Russia more powerful.

How will EU and NATO countries relate with Russia if that happens ?

The economy of Ukraine is in ruins and the number of refugees exceeded 1 million(it will grow even further).
Even if Russia occupied Ukraine, there's going to be a gorilla war.Who is going to invest and build businesses in a country, that is ruined by a war and the people are trying to escape?
Ukraine will become a huge financial burden for Russia.Putin knows that and he doesn't want to conquer Ukraine. He wants to establish a puppet government and a guarantee that Ukraine will never become a member of NATO.
The economy of Russia cannot grow under severe western sanctions.
2176  Economy / Economics / Re: Who will Replace Russian Gas Supplies to Europe? on: March 03, 2022, 11:18:09 AM
Nobody can replace Russia in the short term.
The only solution is a mixture of lowering the natural gas consumption in Europe(by implementing new technologies) and finding smaller alternative gas suppliers(like Azerbaijan). Returning to coal as a substitute of the natural gas in the power plants is a temporary solution, but it might work.
Unfortunately, the Europeans will have to deal with the fact, that the energy prices will be going up for sure, even in case of a peaceful agreement between Russia and Ukraine.
I was hearing rumors, that the increasing oil prices might boost the natural gas production in the USA.
I don't know if this true,though.
2177  Economy / Gambling / Re: Join a collective boycott of all Russian gambling platforms on: March 03, 2022, 06:58:45 AM
If you want to support the boycott avoid these brands:

Online Casinos:

  • 1xBet
  • 1xBit

It is necessary to avoid such casinos/bookmakers even without boycott. These are the most famous garbage platforms that have been deceiving their users for years. I'm surprised they haven't been prosecuted yet, but I'm even more surprised that so many YouTube bloggers, especially in the MMA space, are still promoting these scam platforms.

1xBit even has 2 signature campaigns running. The best boycott would be Theymos banning the signature campaigns of crypto casinos, that are proven to the shady and deceiving.
I wonder why the 1xBit sig campaigns are running for so long and nobody doesn't do anything, except leaving negative feedback and flagging the accounts of forum members, who are involved in these signature  campaigns.
The Youtube "influencers" are ready to do anything for money.Countless NFT/shitcoin scams were promoted on Youtube by the so called "crypto influencers".They won't stop promoting garbage crypto casinos.
I keep repeating that the legit Russian companies aren't guilty for the Russian invasion and boycotting them won't do anything, because Putin doesn't care.

2178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency will not save Russia from sanctions on: March 03, 2022, 06:30:21 AM
The global economy is getting more and more united and all the countries are getting more and more codependent.Any country that gets disconnected from the global economy will be suffering a lot of damage-stagflation,increased unemployment rate, shortage of some important goods and raw materials,no access to technology.Isolation is always a bad thing.Cryptocurrencies cannot help in solving this problem, because no seller can be forcing a buyer, into using a currency, which he doesn't want to use.
Perhaps some Russian oligarchs might successfully launder their money via cryptocurrencies and bypass the sanctions, but they will be caught, sooner or later.

2179  Economy / Economics / Re: Decentralized assets might be the saving grace after the war on: March 02, 2022, 12:03:01 PM
This "special operation" or undeclared war will end some day and somebody has to spend tens of billions of dollars to repair the damages done to Ukraine.Who is going to spend that much money?EU or the USA?
Or maybe both?
Many EU countries don't want Ukraine to become an EU member, because such a big and underdeveloped country(with several cities being destroyed) is going to be a huge financial burden for the European Union.
"Decentralized assets" (I guess that you mean mostly Bitcoin) can help for raising funds or for handling financial transactions, but I don't think that they will have a crucial role in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
2180  Economy / Economics / Re: Why are Rubles trading at a 10% discount on Binance? on: March 02, 2022, 11:37:25 AM
Thinking about it more I would expect the opposite.
I.e. there would be an imbalance of people wanting to sell Rubles to buy USDT/BTC/Eth etc... as a currency hedge/escape route.

But this discount is implying the opposite...

Arh - so does it imply that exporters are using Binance to convert USD->RUB as I am assuming this just became hard. So happy to pay 10% to do this?
So effectively Binance is being used (in a very small way - RUB volumes are tiny millions a day not billions) to avoid sanctions?

More people selling rubles actually means that the price of the Russian ruble will go down.
I don't know what are you trying to say with "this discount is implying the opposite"?Do you really mean that the rubles will get more expensive, only because more people want to sell their rubles? This is quite the opposite of the law of supply and demand.
I don' think that Binance can be effectively used for avoiding the western sanctions.Binance is a custodial exchange, which supports KYC.I'm sure that Binance will comply with the financial restrictions, which are imposed by the big western governments.
The western financial sanctions are pointed towards the Russian elite, not the ordinary Russians, who are trading on Binance or the foreigners, who are trading with Russian rubles.
