Okay so how do I get two 821s.

Can’t figure out how to be listed.

So tired of the difficulty in buying asic 256 gear.

5pm MST on 12 January on their website. They will also be providing a private link on this thread at some point for 10 821s reserved for forum members.

I get tired of that treatment.

I can order 2 every month  even when they  are stuck and cant sell them.

I was buying when no one would buy them. I order 20 to 30 units a year  mostly s-9  not because I like s-9  but they were easier to order.

My problem is I like to do endless small orders  and at the end of the year it comes to a lot of gear.

Unfortunately even though I purchased  100's  of units from bitmain and canaan they dont care since I order 2 units at a time.

Although I did 2 group buys of avalon 6's with more then 50 purchased.

I guess I will check the website like the rest of us.

Or better yet just buy more gpu's

philipma1957, thanks for doing that. I didn't know how to properly embed a photo.

I fixed your image below

your image  was far too big to imbed.

Talk to me then. Send them back for those?
That's your decision to make, not anyone else's. Why did you buy them for $500 a piece in the first place? If you just thought they're cool and you'll make tons of money with them and didn't do any real research before placing the order then yeah, it's better to return them I suppose. Then do some reading. Then order something that is actually worth $500. In general you're supposed to do things in this order: first you do your research, then you order equipment. Looks like you did the opposite. Smiley

Ahh..no. Thats the going rate for them. I mean, if you could find them for $300, please point me in the right direction. The problem is, I don't know what they are "normally", except what i've seen posted.

They are a fucking ripoff send them back
21684  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9's Hijacked-Need Help-Will Pay $$ To Reset-ASAP on: January 05, 2018, 05:02:32 AM
Antminer rejects every attempt at cleaning up kernel with updates no matter WHAT I try it with, including the "clean up the mess that happened when you tried to update and it wouldn't" version they have on their site.

The miner just will. Not. Accept. Any. Fixes.

how can I check what the config bin file is or where?

And again, how do I do an SD card reflash? It violently rejects any attempts at reflashing the firmware via the "you have been hacked and this is the web interface you get now, sucker" interface.

i have a few miners with two boards.

I also have a few spare controllers.

Where do you live?

USA New Jersey

Is my location close to you.

So what’s everyone mining? You using these as lottery or are you mining something for a HODL? Anyone hit a lottery?

lottery at this site  Doge and/or LTC

and yet to hit either one

Guys and gals.. seriously, buy yourself an airline ticket and come to my house in Brookfield, Wisconsin USA if you want to see this thing in person. Otherwise, this is all I'm authorized to display online at the moment:

Ya, ya... go ahead and laugh or scoff.

I am not laughing at the photos of a power meter

But  I have to say   quite a campaign  and when they are ready for  someone to demo it drop me a pm.

page 26 for the thread.

BTW I know how to demo it in such a way  that  no one need see any design just good clean info like this

you could do this   and it would not show the gear but  enough info that  it could show the hash rate.

Hi. I am tired now, tried fixing my transaction today, but i feel incompetent.

I sent BTC from Bitcoin Core wallet to Coinbase, its been pending for 3 weeks. Trx id says 10  days and zero confirmations. But it has been pending since the 12th of december

If anyone can push it through it would be nice. I've tried the accelerators, but they are allways busy. I would be a very happy man if someone could help me out. Sorry for being a pleb..

I will buy the moonlander 2 from you

my fan died and I did this

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-4QqZKMKWA

so I want  to get a total of 6 more sticks .
Actually you posted that yt video solution in response to my dead fan in the Moonlander 2 Support thread, philipma1957  Cool
I'm going to do what you did, so I'll be keeping this one and hopefully acquiring more soon.

Yeah  to me I had the stud hubs laying around.

I have sooooo many fans laying around

using  my fans and not using the little ones is good.

I posted a wanted ad in marketplace.

21691  Economy / Computer hardware / Don"t like the moonlander 2 stick is the fan noisy ? I want some with bad fans on: January 05, 2018, 12:52:56 AM
I have 2 moonlander 2 sticks  one fan died I did this fix and I now want your moonlander 2 sticks if you fan sucks and vibrates

I am usa based.

I will pay with paypal  since  I want working sticks with dead fans.
Not dead sticks.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-4QqZKMKWA

they run 65 plus shipping from asicpuppy

I will pay 65 and you handle shipping.

they fit in a flat rate  priority usps  box.

so I will pay a little less since you are looking to dump them.

If you want btc or another coin  you will have to send  the stick up front.

I need  4 to 6 of them

I have 2 on order from asic puppy my setup will do 8 sticks easy

I own 2 of them  so if your fan died  I will take them and run them with my setup.
21692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Recommend me a cheap USB Miner on: January 05, 2018, 12:42:38 AM
I am just curious and would like to try out a few things just for the fun of it.
I was in your position a few weeks ago, crypto-words - I got a Moonlander 2 and it's great if you, like me, want to dip a toe in the contemporary world of ASIC litecoin/altcoin mining. Unfortunately the fan died on mine and I'm still deciding on whether to replace said fan or get a couple more Moonlanders, remove all the USB fans, and cool them externally.

There is no USB miner that meets your conditions.

The FutureBit Moonlander 2 is the closest, but the profit isn't "high" in nominal terms. However, it is high in that it not zero like every other USB miner.
wavelengthsf is right, from the research I've done and from reading this forum the Moonlander 2 is the best for your buck; however I learned pretty quickly that unless you have a very specific goal or coin in mind you're not really going to make any notable profit. There are bigger, better rigs to mine with, both ASIC and GPU, and you can find plenty on those here as well.

I will buy the moonlander 2 from you

my fan died and I did this

21693  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can I mine two different altcoins on one rig? on: January 05, 2018, 12:30:39 AM
Oh right, my rig is gonna be 8 AMD cards, and 4 NVIDIA cards!  Shocked

Will that be a massive problem?

How do I manage my devices? Can't I do it all on one monitor and use dummy plugs whilst managing the overclocking?

which is why 12 card rigs can be stupid

there are a few ways  to do it

if you want to mine on nicehash

you can run multiple instances  and setup the nvidia to one coin and the amd to another coin

but in the end  both coins will be auto converted to btc.

I run  a cpu and an amd on nicehash doing cryptonight

I then run a second instance  for the 2 nvidia  cards for zec

on one I check the cpu and the amd

on the other  check the nvidia   but in the end they all become btc
21694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 04, 2018, 10:32:35 PM

The really ODD part is that it's NVIDIA cards that are in really short supply now, AMD cards have had the pricing jump the last week but they're still AVAILABLE, Nvidia cards 1070 and up are not only price rise some but availability VERY short.

It's not just Newegg - EVGA themselves had very few "available" cards in the 1070 and up range when I checked this afternoon, NONE of the 1070 ti models except the Hybrid, 2 or 3 each on the 1070 1080 and 1080 ti.

Evga should be on track today the 4th  as they are supposed to start shipping again.

 2 1070
 0 1070 ti
 0 1080
1 and perhaps 2 1080 ti models in stock (can't tell for sure on the "members exclusive one".

That's ALL that EVGA had in stock on their web page just now.

3 or 4 models TOTAL across all 4 types of GPU out of 49 models they have in that range.

Worse they have yet to ship my gear ordered on the 26th of dec    9 day delay = unacceptable
21695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Need help! Onda D1800 BTC. Can’t get BIOS to display! on: January 04, 2018, 10:30:46 PM
Ok, so I’m pretty good with Linux development programming so I wouldn’t think this would throw me for a loop. I unboxed  the motherboard and was pleasantly surprised that is had a upgrade. An onboard vga slot that the seller said it had not. Ok, I went ahead and inserted the appropriate Ddr3l ram and connected the 24 pin and four pin cpu connectors from the EVGA psu. I plugged my monitor into the vga and then turned the PSU on. The cpu I could hear powering up. But nothing is being displayed on the scree? Ism’t The BIOS preloaded? I tried to insert a graphi card after powering down and using the hdmi output to see if I could get videos. Power up, the GPU fans spins but still no graphicss to mod the BIOS. Is there something wrong with the board, or just me  Grin. I tried all sorts of configurations going as far Ass creating a boot drive for win 10. How can I tell if the BIOS is intact, and if. Or how do I flash the bios on this model

did you plug power into the sata and molex slots?

they need power
21696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Happy New Years! Seventh alt coin thread! on: January 04, 2018, 06:35:28 PM
Anyone here using nicehash wallet to coinbase wallet??

Would like to know how it’s going
Works fine for me.

If I keep hearing this I might switch back

Working fine for me as well.  I did have that delay this morning for the first time, but it resolved itself within a few hours.

When it paid out what was in your wallet?

I'm trying to setup the usb key ith latest macos ; i followed all the instructions , i can see the device in /dev/ , it flashes when i start bfgminer ( both yellow and red leds , i had to start with administrative rights ), but then i get the following message :
NO DEVICES FOUND: Press 'M' and '+' to add
and no way to add device(s)

cfr:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ny17lbdjx1l3vuv/Screenshot%202018-01-04%2018.47.05.png?dl=0

any hint ?

no support  in bfgminer

did you download  jestanop's drivers?

I am pretty sure they need to be his drivers

and not bfgminer's
21698  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Official FutureBit Moonlander 2 Driver and Support Thread on: January 04, 2018, 05:33:03 PM
Yes the stock heatsink is not designed for fanless operation. Even at base frequency and lowest voltage you risk overheating with no airflow.

Running 10 ML2 on Sipolar A400. Had an Arctic USB Fan blowing on them on the side. Ran into random ASIC stop hashing (likely due to overheating). Your driver update brought them back to life, but would die again shortly. Anyway, bought a bigger $4 USB fan from Daiso. That actually moves more air and keeps the "stopped hashing" error message away. So, I believe it was a heat issue.

Daiso Fan here: https://i.imgur.com/GsVRLs1.jpg

Yeah  my conclusion is remove stock fan and use a good fan.

my sticks are on 756 freq and do  5mh

they are not hot.

eventually I will run eight with the  scythe fans.

21699  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Avalon Quality vs Antminer Quality on: January 04, 2018, 05:19:56 PM
Based on the issues with the first few S9 batches, and the existence of the T9, the primary issue they seem to be having is "chip to chip variation" is VERY WIDE on 14/16nm node processes when one is trying to push the chip as hard as Bitmain is doing.

Based on the issues they had with the S7, they may also be trying to push the thermal density more than they should be.

So in your opinion is this a QC issue or a development issue with the chip just can’t handle the load?

many  believe  that  due to size of chip 14/16nm   and high power sent to it  that it can not help but have power leakages.

there are 189 chips  doing  13.5 th

there are 189 chips doing   1400 watts

Intel has  the i7 6700k  and it had a higher fail rate then previous

that was their first 14nm chip and it did have  a higher failure rate  then previous  cpu's

it was the first intel cpu I ever fried  out of 300 or more used in builds.

I would love the next design to use less power  and less chips  and run cooler.
