2182  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best ways of introducing someone to bitcoin ? on: September 03, 2020, 02:59:11 PM
Hello,

I was thinking and wondering of different ways to introduce my family, friends and colleagues to bitcoin and I tried to convince them, but couldn't pitch in perfectly to get them going.

Things I tried
  • Showed them the current value of BTC pegged to fiat, which did get thier attention for a while.
  • Told them about how it all started, how the community adopted the use of BTC and how it all boomed.
  • Showed them my wallets : how easy and fast it is to send and recieve to almost anywhere in the world as long as there is an internet connection.
  • Introduced them to a few exchanges to show how easy it is to buy or sell whenever they want to.
  • Told and proved to them how secure and anonymous a transaction is and how fast it can be for cross border transactions compared to other financial institutions.

Well, I pretty much tried to do everything I could. Now after they listened to all that I said, watched everything as that I showed to them as a demo, they did thier own research. They started shooting a few questions like
  • See how often the price drops, this could be a bubble
  • See Google tells crypto currency is used in black market to keep anonymity and make illegal trasactions
  • See these types of currencies are used for the purpose of gambling to be in disguise

So basically, what I am looking for as an answer is, an approach that can be used in order to gain interest of people, stating all the good things and the bad things about BTC in a manner that a "noob" can understand and try to think, yes this is already beneficial to others, why not I try it too ?

All suggestions are welcomed.

Thank you

Aside from that, I think most of the investment is the best way to introduce bitcoin or cryptocurrency since this is where the hype came from and most of the time became popular around the world because of the high market price in the market. Still introducing bitcoin as a digital currency and investment could be the best way, bitcoin is not yet used to transactions in a lot of stores most of the time online which could be common nowadays because of the pandemic, it could be one of the best ways to transact since physical money have a risk of getting corona.

I think Introducing bitcoin as payment is the best way to introduce it this day, also it would be a lot more self if it is adopted in your country when a lot of people is already accepting bitcoin as a transaction currency.
2183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it alright to invest with bitcoin at the current market price? on: September 02, 2020, 05:19:34 PM

"Is it still best time to invest now with the current market price? Or will wait for bitcoin market to crash? What do you think?[/b]

For sure if your waiting for the best time or right time to invest in the market it's now today. at 11k$-12k, $ is not a good investment price, it would be much better if you wait for the market price to dump in the market. For me, the ideal market price to invest is 5k$ or lower to easily make a profit in just a small amount of time. If you think about the market price or volatility of bitcoin you might still earn a profit at 12k$ price point thinking that the market price of bitcoin is still going to pump soon.

Still, it would still be a higher profit when you invest when the market price is dumped instead when the at right point, for long term investment it still might not be worth it considering the time needed in order to reach a profitable price. If you are already getting a payout in bitcoin like for example in a signature campaign here in the forum, just invest it and don't spend it even when the market price is at a high price.
2184  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of bitcoin trading scams -YouTube fake traders- on: September 01, 2020, 07:35:13 PM
I think pretending to trade or faking it is popular and done by a lot of people. Also YouTubers most of the time, in reality, is sponsored when a website pays some influencers on youtube a lot of their subscribers could easily be a part of that. The thing here is most of the YouTubers don't know anything about trading they just make a video for it because it is paid or sponsored by a website, they don't have any idea if it is a legitimate website or not.

For sure most of the experienced trader don't really listen in a simple video in youtube because it is just so obvious to them, Faking trading is just one of the method to easily influence someone that don't have enough experience in trading.
Influencers is the most disgusting imaginary job I have ever landed upon to. This wanna be traders are just in for the views especially in Youtube, they do not care whether you earn, they want is your views and they have no intention of helping you. You also should put in mind that anyone who reveals their hand is either a fool or con.

We should not generalized all the youtuber since there are some youtubers who do a good job regarding on giving a tutorial or any trading tips, but we cannot really erase that their are jerks entering the platform and spreading some fakes tutorial, click baits, and worse those scams promoted by them. And we should really think that there's no one can give us easy profit especially if they say we will get the profit from trading passively since this is totally scam.

Traders or investors that do youtube is actually doing a great job promoting and sharing their knowledge on youtube, But the thing is owners still pick top influencers on youtube that doesn't really know anything about trading or cryptocurrency. If you think about it, they just want to influence a lot of people in my opinion so a famous influencer or someone that has a lot of views and subscribers is most likely picked to promote fake websites, etc.

A lot of famous people tend to post fake trading photos in a lot of social media platform to influence a lot of people and potentially affect the market price.
2185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: August 31, 2020, 05:29:03 PM
All investment is risky, that is why a lot of people recommend to just invest what you could afford to lose. I think when it comes to bitcoin the market supply and demand are already having its foundation I don't think you could really lose the investment in this kind of market when you know how the market works. The thing here or method that you could use is if you are not going to sell your bitcoin you do not really go to lose money if you sell your investment at a low price where you buy it that is where you easily lose money. Most of the investors lost in investment because they just don't believe in bitcoin, but for me and a lot of investors that already know the volatility of bitcoin has a big dump is a good thing.

2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Satoshi Stop bitcoin? on: August 30, 2020, 07:16:12 PM
Satoshi Nakamoto has done a great job in bitcoin invention, his idea is what many of us are celebrating and enjoying today and we are grateful to have such a great idea, we have all believed that by the decentralized nature of bitcoin, it should be unstoppable by any government, even by Japan where Satoshi was claimed to be a citizen. Now that his idea has been propelled far and wide, do you think he has the capacity to stop it again?

What do you mean by stopping it again?

I guess one of the things is we don't know if Satoshi exists or bitcoin is made by a company or maybe just a country, somehow for me it is impossible to stop the bitcoin now but what could happen is to kill the bitcoin marketprice that is surely going to killed bitcoin. The main theory here is Satoshi is holding a big percentage of bitcoin, having a big percentage of bitcoin and dumping it in the market could potentially kill bitcoin, we don't know but that's how the bitcoin scam is going to work. Also, it might affect all of the cryptocurrency in the market when the market price reaches 0.
2188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have shared about bitcoin on my class on: August 30, 2020, 06:51:52 PM
Asking that question shows that your teacher really wants to know what bitcoin is all about. He/she might have heard it in the past. So many people do not have an understanding of what it is but you jump into the conclusion that it is a scam or an investment scheme. I believe with time the bitcoin will be more discussed in an institution and public places and will change the orientation of the people especially those that have a biased mind towards the crypto and blockchain technology

It happened to me a lot since I have a knowledge about bitcoin sometimes I put bitcoin or cryptocurrency in the topic. And then most of the time my teacher ask me what is bitcoin etc. and then I end up explaining the bitcoin to the whole class. I think a lot of people or even professionals doesn't really have knowledge about bitcoin, bitcoin is not yet ready as an online currency and it is still in the progress of adaptation. A lot of people don't trust bitcoin-like my professor because it is just digital and doesn't have a physical form and he says that you are just investing in something that is imaginary meaning anytime you could lose it. I think he has a point but in my experience on the market supply and demand works.
I sounded like you before, Explaining the concept and bitcoin itself in the whole class, Honestly, it is a very satisfying experience to be sharing my knowledge to others and having many people ask more about bitcoin to me. The only thing that conflicted is the knowledge of my teacher, He really fights me that bitcoin is a scam due to recent news of bitcoin scam that time but I'm relieved that I changed the entire knowledge of my classmates on bitcoin. I don't ask them to believe but I intend to make bitcoin positive for them because of the negative impact on scams on bitcoin at that time. Sharing knowledge about bitcoin and blockchain is awesome!

Totally agree,  Most of the time there is no way you could pursue them into bitcoin because every news about bitcoin are evolving scam also a lot of people in the community don't like digital thing because it is just so easy to lost money online and you don't have control in it, most of the time people who'd go into paper or fiat money because they have the assurance in it and it is produced by the government, etc.

What needed here is to continue the bitcoin adoption when bitcoin is already popular and a lot of people is gonna get a chance to try it, when they already have experience in it they will finally going to understand bitcoin and cryptocurrency.

2191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Research and Experience, There’s No Other Way! on: August 30, 2020, 05:01:31 PM
it will take years of research and experience to master bitcoin.
Maybe or maybe not. Some here have mastered the basic knowledge everything about bitcoin, how it works, mechanism, and its used to different application. Learning bitcoin technology speed is depend on the user capability to grasp all there is to learn. Some here can understand, and execute anything coding on bitcoin easily especially those who have knowledge with related field.

Im not totally techie guy, but somehow I understand and know how it works, and manage to execute some task like keeping my security when using off bitcoin wallets including altcoins too.

Totally agree with you with just understanding the basic knowledge about bitcoin, cryptocurrency, etc. you could already earn a good amount of profit from it. If you are just into trading you don't really need to go some technical and advanced stuff in order to trade and make a profit in it. I think what you just need is basic knowledge and experience in investing, it should be enough to make something or profit in cryptocurrency. In my experience, I don't really know about technical stuff or advanced stuff when it comes to cryptocurrency and bitcoin but I do know also understand how it works or how the market works. Still, I'm able to make a profit in it, comparing it to other technology we don't really know about it but we just need to know how it works and we already understand what is going to happen.

Still, there is no shortcut when it comes to that, a lot of people who look for easy money are most likely to get scam.
2192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TrustWallet For Airdrops Tokens ? on: August 30, 2020, 04:31:30 PM
I'm wondering if I can use trust wallet ethereum address for joining Airdrops? Will the tokens reflect on the wallet? Or is it better to use other erc20 wallet for joining Airdrops?

Coz I wanna reduce some apps on my phone and if I can use one wallet for most of my crypto activities, much better, but if not it is fine. I'm still trying to explore crypto and related things hope you could share some important infos that can help me understand this more

Thanks very much. 😄

Sure you could use a trusted wallet, the fact that it is backup that Binance is already a good recommendation. Still, ERC20 is a good choice like mew wallet that has the private key is better because of the security. Im not sure about the transaction fee is higher but it depend in the network traffic.

Still if you want to reduce applications in your phone you could just stick in the trust wallet,it is still a legitimate and trusted wallet by the community so it should work just fine.

You can use Myetherwallet.com.

Try MEW it is a trusted and safe wallet still recommended for altcoins.

2193  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Fake XMR wallet on Displayed in Google/Google Ads on: August 30, 2020, 12:03:21 PM
~

I guess this is common because as long as you paid google you could probably promote anything in ads when someone searches something like a keyword they will recommend your website easily. Google doesn't filter this kind of concern so having a scam or fake websites is not a problem since anyone could just pay google, you could even promote cheat codes, fake websites, or some porn things, etc.

That is already a thing in google but a lot of people already know it, does anyone trusting advertisement by google here? I guess not for sure only newbies or someone that don't really have the knowledge or just new on the internet is going to trust ads on google.

I try to used Google with Adblock off and it's redirect me to this website, not on the fake website as pointed by OP.

And now it is impersonating this wallet: https://magnumwallet.co/, so these criminals have a back up website to constantly shifting/rotating to mislead potential victims, very tricky indeed.

I guess blocking the advertisement is a good move since you might misclick an ads.
2194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens to Bitcoin in the long term? on: August 29, 2020, 06:14:50 PM
Question regarding the viability of bitcoin in the long term. From my understanding, the security of bitcoin comes from miners who verify the blockchain. What happens when there is so much halving that the reward for mining bitcoin is extremely low and the cost of verifying the blockchain for the miners exceeds the reward of their bitcoin?

It's actually a higher reward for sure the market price is going to increase because of the bitcoin halving, it's true that a lot of miners is quitting but its actually because it hard to earn a profit when you are just a small miner, so only big miner companies are available to survive the bitcoin halving. Investing in bitcoin miner is really risky especially because of the bitcoin halving just like what happened last time. Still, we don't really know what could happen in the future when the bitcoin reaches its supply limit, for sure bitcoin market price going to increase but miners are not going to be profitable anymore.

In long term the miner will be earning bitcoin from the fees transaction and at time i think bitcoin will be at high price and more stable. If bitcoin supply has reach it limits i bet it make bitcoin and more valuable as they only can get it from the fees and this will push bitcoin price to the another level..

sounds good for us btc users but does that sound good in the miners ?

so many people who use btc now and much more in the future and fees of btc will also be high if btc price goes better  . i guess thats enough for the miners to earn a sufficient income  .  imagining these things makes me feel excited for the future of btc but before i was scared because i dont have knowledge  if what can possibly happen to it

Maybe for now we could totally see or feel the high fee in every transaction and continue to increase when the marketprice is also increasing so I guess its safe to say that miners earn a good amount of profit mining transactions.

Your doing a great job! Congrats!

Just keep it up and continue what you are doing, we could surely get a lot of useful information in the forums we continue posting, etc. also you have a lot of great post in the forum that helps other members here. Earning merits is not easy but you don't really need main it as your main goal or either ranking up. Invest in cryptocurrency and gain more knowledge about cryptocurrency. For sure merit and ranking, up is just a bonus.

2196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: August 28, 2020, 04:24:12 PM
Just a feeling I have. It's all credit cards and dollars and shit.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the shit money and save my bitcoins, but I can't wait until I can use real money everywhere. I'd rather get paid in bitcoin and spend bitcoin.

I guess everyone has the same feeling, bitcoin today is just for investment and I still think that bitcoin is not yet ready for spending or buying things online. Still, the market price is volatile so I can't really imagine it as a currency because the value is changing from time to time, just like accepting bitcoin as payment it is risky as always but you could easily earn a profit just like investing in bitcoin. I think investing in bitcoin is a good thing for the long term and you could totally make something by saving it.

Maybe merchant could be allowed bitcoin payment when the market price becomes stable and that could happen in the future as bitcoin adaptation continue, still, we don't know what could possibly happen or predict it, something could always happen maybe market price continues to pump and adopt or market could always to dump until it reaches zero.

It also happened to me by I didn't recover my code at all  Sad For some exchanger that I use google authenticator some of it when you log in you need to use the code after logging in but it doesn't have an option when you lost your code, etc. and the support is crap.

You could totally import it from different phones when you have a new phone but if you lost your phone is a different story, I've searched on youtube last time what method I can do but you need to do it before you lost your phone, for example, Facebook, which have a backup could that you could use when you lost your google authenticator, etc. There are so many authenticators already that is getting recommended by a lot of users but I only know google but google still a good choice.

Is it a new update from Google? Are every code save in your Gmail can be recovered or saved?

2198  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Common Telegram scam till date on: August 28, 2020, 07:32:43 AM
Great list of scam bots on telegram, Telegram is just a social media platform that crypto community used in order to share information about projects, etc. Meaning anyone could create some fake projects in the platform or just make a similar community to legitimate projects.  So for a lot of scammers mostly go here in the Telegram platform because it's easy to scam some newbies that don't have the knowledge or just getting started in cryptocurrency.

I think it's just better to play safe as always in the platform just do not give such information that scammer could use to still your funds etc. It's true that legitimate project use telegram but still unless the community doesn't recommend by the owner or something don't fall for it. Scammers are always finding a new method to scam your funds in the telegram.

Most of the telegram channels with that kind of opening message, it's better to avoid them and never waste time checking them.

For me I hate when suddenly I get added to a group without my knowledge for a scam ICO or IEO
As long as someone has your telegram account/username, they will add you as they wish so if you suspect someone is doing that to you. Block them.

I think most of the time suspicious names are most likely to be a scam, and mostly some accounts in the platform that dm you or offering something is a scam.
2199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why don't more people invest in btc? on: August 27, 2020, 11:10:26 AM
I'm wondering why the general population hasn't yet caught on and started investing in bitcoin. These days people seem to be willing to immediately invest into the stock market, but not into any cryptos, when it has such a large potential in the future. Why is this the case?

We cannot really expect a lot of people to invest in bitcoin, because of a lot of reason, its either they just don't know what is bitcoin or investment, it could be bitcoin is risky for an investment and you can always expect a profit. Also, there are still a lot of ways that you could do in order to make a profit not just investment in bitcoin, doing business could be more reliable than putting your funds or investing it in bitcoin.

Maybe as bitcoin adaptation continues around the world we could see a lot more people investing in cryptocurrency and bitcoin, for me a lot of people just didn't know how it works so they are afraid of trying it since the online or digital currency is more like a scam to them.
2200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Whale Sold at $12,000 After 2 Years HODLing on: August 26, 2020, 05:13:22 PM
A Bitcoin whale, who accumulated 9,000 BTC in late 2018, has sold after 22 months and two capitulation phases.

A Bitcoin (BTC) whale — an individual investor who holds a large amount of BTC — took profit after two years. Data from Whalemap suggests the whale purchased nearly 9,000 BTC in the third quarter of 2018.

The whale held on to the BTC for nearly 22 months, through two major capitulation phases. Bitcoin dropped to sub-$4,000 level twice, first in January 2019 and second in March 2020. The investor waited through both periods, ultimately selling at around $12,000.

Who said that bitcoin is no longer profitable?  Smiley

Great call, he might probably make more profit if he continue to hold but i think its already a great call for sure the profit is huge already and investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency is always a big risk.

It might take a long time before it reach a higher amount or the market could always possibly dump as always so it is not worth it to wait everytime.
