So the more PPCoins you have, and the older they are, the bigger PoS reward they give? Also, what does the current PoS difficulty translate to to the average user?
2182  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 29, 2013, 05:17:49 PM
Whoa, I realized my 100$ in paper profits (supposedly) which then turned in a 100$ loss?! By magic I lost 200$ for testing your plattform. I am not happy.

Hello

What happen is not a rounding error, but probably this:
-In the last hours, Bitstamp price has been lagging under mtgox one, and our USD on bitstamp got quickly exhausted as users enjoyed the arbitrage. When you tried to close your short position, the system skipped the offers of bitstamp to buy you on mtgox, which could lead to some losses.

I have updated the ticker and the orderbook, so that when there is a shortage of funds on one of the exchange, orders of the concerned side are hidden (like right now you don't see ask side of Bitstamp). And the ticker price is accurate, doesn't take into account these side, so it doesn't display you false information about your P/L. (of course I have to remind that profit/loss depends on the depth of the market)

There is no way around it, as we can't instantly transferred usd from one exchange to the other, so this is bound to happen when arbitrage last too long (and yes we had yet some good reserves on bitstamp).

Now can you give me your username on BFX, so I can check what happened, if this is indeed this problem that occured, and compensate for your loss?

Rounding error all over the place. Suddenly there is an entry price of

-100.000.000$. You __can not__ test exchange trading like this.

Not sure what you mean by that?

Best regards
Raphael

He is saying there are many rounding errors.

Like my balance is displayed like

but here it's correct

The first image describes what is known as "rounding".

How much just for C3? My nephew wants to play online, but I can't give him my account to ruin my stats. And as you know, the game is tied to Origin, so...one account per game.
2184  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [BETA]Bitfinex.com first Bitcoin P2P lending platform for leverage trading on: April 29, 2013, 11:09:00 AM
And less rounding, because a value of 0.00742 is rounded to 0.01.
2185  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Considering purchasing Avalon chips on: April 29, 2013, 08:18:49 AM
The chips by themselves don't do anything, you'd need to have them assembled to a board. And I am not sure 2.83Gh/s will be worth it once a hell of a lot of people start mining on ASICs. It will be like trying to mine bitcoin with the CPU today.
2186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet Hack on 4/25 on: April 29, 2013, 07:46:32 AM
Also having a feature to block other IPs from entering the account would be nice, with the ability to add exceptions(home, work, phone).
2187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions on: April 28, 2013, 11:09:46 PM
I've always paid a fee of 0.01BTC regardless of what the settings were. So 0.01*133(Current price) = $1.33
2188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Unconfirmed transactions on: April 28, 2013, 10:44:26 PM
I think that these unconfirmed transactions is going to be a big key factor that keeps more people from adopting this as a more widespread currency. Yes while it's true if you include a fee it is more likely to get accepted quickly but it seems to me that non-technical people trying to adopt to bitcoin will be frustrated by this...having transactions unconfirmed for hours or days, or transactions that are lost forever. Thoughts on this?

are you telling me that a 0.01$ fee for transaction is too much?

Or even less...?
If you do the math, it's actually waay over a dollar per transaction.
2189  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-04-27 ZeroHedge - The Highest Concentration of Bitcoins in the World is... on: April 28, 2013, 08:40:53 PM
Well, nice video, though it's not exactly fee-less. In fact, sometimes you need to pay very large fees for inputs that are recent. Or if you don't pay a fee, your transaction may be stuck in limbo forever.
2190  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Exchange for smooth SEPA? on: April 28, 2013, 05:16:59 PM
I used Bitstamp for my SEPA withdrawal(not sure about deposits). You can try with them.
2191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin creator just as lazy as the others. on: April 28, 2013, 03:22:42 PM
your title -Litecoin creator just as lazy as the others.

Then whom are you referring to?

I am referring to the other altcoin creators minus TRC and PPC as Sunny King updated the code a lot, and the TRC dev tried to fix the difficulty bug a lot of times.
2192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin creator just as lazy as the others. on: April 28, 2013, 03:17:51 PM
I live in Europe, thats why.

Me too.  I'm spending my own money and taking my own time off work to go to the conference. I don't know where Coblee is based, but he's taking time, effort, travel (unless he lives there) to go too.

So maybe it's not the Litecoin creator and "others" who are the lazy ones?
Good for you, you have money and can make time, I do not have money and even more so making time for travel.

I'm not boasting, I'm saying that some people are willing to make sacrifices to get things done that they believe in. I'm sure you have solid reasons why you can't go.

What you don't have is any justification for calling the rest of us lazy.
Now where did I say that? I name only a single entity.

In your title...jeeez...too lazy to comprehend what you wrote as well and need us to point it out for you too?
Re-read my post again, I have named only one person, a single entity, and the "others" refers to the other altcoin creators if you couldn't comprehend it. It is you who can't read. Pooler is in fact a very good friend of mine, he has put a lot of work into Litecoin.

Changed title for better readability.
2193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin creator just as lazy as the others. on: April 28, 2013, 03:13:53 PM
Just saying, there are like around 10 commits in the past year and this guy hasn't even pulled the recent Bitcoin changes into Litecoin, as the code is similar. In fact, the Terracoin dev was waay more productive than this guy.

I guess he(coblee) is looking to disappear like Satoshi, so he doesn't plan to update the UI, add more features, optimization, nothing??

And just for reference, have a look see at the only change in the last 2 months https://github.com/litecoin-project/litecoin/commit/3aaa7ba5d05ff7ec35e2cd704e1e1b3da58b70b4

Can you code?
yes?...then fix it yourself.
No?....Then shut the F-up!

If you understood the litecoin source code you would know how uninformed you are in calling it 'similar' to bitcoin or terracoin.  They may share some foundation code but that's it.  Just because a bus and a car have wheels does not make them 'similar' when they run you over.  You have better odds of surviving one over the other.
Ok, let me rephrase and I will stand behind it firmly, Litecoin is JUST a copy of Bitcoin's source code with scrypt added for PoW and changes to the difficulty. Saying it's using the same "foundation" is just pure denial.

Is it possible to not round the displayed values because it's confusing. I have 0.9969 Bitcoins, but the interface displays it as 1.0 on the orderbook and the stats on the right side.
The only place that displays it without rounding is the 'Manage Wallets' page.

you do understand the meaning of an open source project right? or do you?
Yes, I do. Bitcoin is open-source and is actively developed, especially because people believe in it and are investing in it. Litecoin uses the Bitcoin source so it's not like it was written from scratch.

Open source or not, isn't anything that has to do with banks what Bitcoin is against?

I wasn't aware that Bitcoin was against banks per se.  The idea for Bitcoin was created as early as 2006 before the banking crisis even started.  Your local bank is still trustworthy even though the Too Big To Fails seem to have gone off the rails.  Also, anyone can open their own bitbank as long as other people trust them to store their coins.
Well, banks don't like Bitcoin https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=189422.0
