21901  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain's Released Antminer S9, World's First 16nm Miner Ready to Order on: December 19, 2017, 04:06:37 PM
Wow, the new S9 batch price is really a rip off price.

But I'm positively surprised with my 1x  S9 (January 21-30 delivery batch) order.

First, the APW3++ power supply was shipped way early in November 12.

And now the S9 was shipped already today in December 19.

It left the Fedex origin facility already.  Smiley

i have a weird shipping pattern from them
the Jan 21-31 will arrive dec 21st = very nice

the dec 21-31 has yet to ship = ?

21902  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is CPU to Pcie converter safe? on: December 19, 2017, 03:51:29 PM
Hi,
I actually ordered pcie extention cable, waiting 20 days to reach my location, after that fool seller sent me cpu to pcie concerter wire, it looks like Y one side cpu and other 2 x 6 pin pcie,
I always ask before action, so i ask here,
Is it safe to use that converter?

maybe

but I am not sure  what you want to do.

are you looking to extend an 8 pin  pcie to an 8 pin pcie?

are you looking to extend a 6 pin pcie to a 6 pin pcie?
Im using two power supply of 650 watts, both have 2 8pin wires
Using it on 2 gtx 1070 and one gtx 1060,
One cable to power gtx 1060 is too small so i ordered extention cable but he sent me cpu to pcie cable.
Dont know if it is safe or not.
Edit. This is what i got.
If i order from amazon i need to wait again and Christmas time also near, but cant risk safety, just need clarification that this cable is safe or not.

21904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Coingate transaction times - Eyeboot - Expired Transaction? on: December 19, 2017, 02:51:24 PM
I ordered some items from Eyeboot and paid with an BCH. Eyeboot uses Coingate for the processing.

Unfortunately Coingate only gives 10 minutes for BCH to confirm before expiring the order and it took 18 minutes for the transaction I sent to get 1 confirmation.

After I refreshed the page it showed as expired but also showed as paid and they(Coingate) had converted it to BTC. The page asked me for a BTC refund address and other info as well as it included this checkbox that said "If possible, mark the order as paid instead of refunding me"

I checked the box to mark the order as paid and submitted the form. I received a notification that said I would receive a refund in 48 hours.

Anyone had any success with getting orders processed through Coingate in this manner? I really don't want them to refund me in this case as I want the order paid.

Thanks

Well looks like they cancelled my order and now I'm waiting to see if I ever get a refund of $~830 -- Guess I'll be the one to report how this goes

That truly sucks.

I just paid 215 in acceleration fees due to a fee frozen transactions.

It is becoming a reall issue.
21905  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 19, 2017, 05:13:49 AM
I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in the thread but could not find the answer, can you tell me what are the power connector requirements for the B250 board?

From the pictures I see 3 SATA and 3 4-pin connectors, are those all that is needed to power 8 on board PCIE ports? (Also the 4 pin CPU and 24-pin MB connectors)

yes. this is for the onda b250 d8p ver 1.0 (the one phil has in his videos).

Got it thanks. What do people use as PSU for this setup? Something that can handle 7x1080 ti. Any server PSU setups from reliable Chinese suppliers?

corsair ax1500i and Evga 1600T2/P2 has sufficient power and cables for 7x1080ti at 80% tdp.

It you get the Evga 1600 it has 8 pin 6 pin pcie cables.

It means you must pick 8 pin 6 pin 1080 ti. The Evga 1080 ti hybrid for 809usd has 8 pin 6 pin hook up

It will run cool and quiet

It can go down.

It has had drops .

Frankly you cant predict it long term
21908  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are the odds of actually getting an S9 from Bitmain when they are released? on: December 19, 2017, 03:04:58 AM
mine with the s7  trade for bcc/bch  which is the coin bitmain accepts.

look on bitmain.com 4 times a day

look on twitter 4 time a day.

when it goes on sale order it.

make sure you have your bcc/bch ready for it.

I posted  a great sale on the rosewill tokamak titanium  1500 watt

it will do 6 1080 ti's

as it has 6 two headed 8 pin pcie cables.

or do 5 1080 ti's and 2 1070 ti's

frankly  I would only try that with hybrid evga's

links for you coming up

sale is over on the psu:

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=08G-P4-5678-KR

lastly

if you do 4 1070 ti's  and 3 1080 ti's   set the 1070tis to 100 watts = 400  and set the 1080tis to 190 watts = 570 about 1000 total

this will work and is still a sale

Can someone suggest if the following USB HUB is a good buy to run multiple moonlander 2 USB miners with its optimum performance? appreciate your quick help on this,

Thank you.

Don't think it's got enough power per port...

"5V/650mA sufficient current per port"

Yep a lack of juice per port

Any good suggestions that are available on Amazon? Thanks.

Phil - I'm really loving the hybrids and just ordered 5 of the new 12 PCIe boards from letine - just really curious how you're going to mount those pesky damn heat sinks - that seems to be my biggest drawback for these, other than that I LOVE the hybrids, solid cooling for sure!

If I mount the 8 in the slots, there will be 8 sinks above those cards, so don't know how I'm going to put the other 4 AND their sinks in.

Right now I just have them jerry rigged on a new tier above them, but if I go with these new 12 card boards, well... guess I'll be able to workshop that issue when they arrive. It's going to be interesting for sure.

But that's what makes rigs fun IMO. I really love tinkering with these things.

spotswood  has a good  setup rack

i posted 2 videos

Yes saw the 2 vids - coming along nicely.

I just don't think it will do the 12 cards.

Visualizing it, it will do the 8 onboard cards, and the radiators will be mounted above those 8 cards on his expensive extra tier, but then I have slots for 4 more cards that need to go where the radiators are, so it won't work.

And not crapping on spotwood, but for $200 for that case you said it took over an hour to build, for $200 that thing better build itself.

The cost of the frame in Phil's videos was $135.

Not sure if it took Phil an hour to build just the frame or the frame and the rig.

With another pair of fan/radiator mounting beams (+$15) you could easily mount another 4x radiators along the top of the frame.

-Rich

Frame and rig  and a learning curve.  I could do it all in under 45 minutes counting the usb 3.0 stick from simple mining.

I have the extra mounting beam in the wrong spot in those video's.

My bad I will be stacking and doing it correctly over the next few days.
21913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 08:53:11 PM
I think promojo  is hurting DragonMint on purpose. More then likely he is a bitmain puppet.

All that he has done is hurt the builders of DragonMint and I for one am happy he is doing this.  We just had back to back to back 18% jumps and most likely will pop another one like that in 2 weeks.  By the time the dragon mint comes out diff will be 3x what it is today.
21914  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 04:32:18 PM
It takes all of 1 minute to upload a picture showing you have it. Even if you didnt have time for the full review you could at leat prove it exists.

There already was a picture posted here when I received it.   ....But sure.... I can take a picture.    Please hold.

dude if you own this machine  why are you not mining with it.

16th is 0.002576  btc a day which is 48 usd a day  with new diff jump

and you are too busy to post info on the gear or mine the gear.

Your actions  are fucking the builders of the gear.

If I was the builder of the gear I would be angry at you doing what you are doing.

So once again to the builder and seller of this gear shoot me a pm and we can setup a unit to be sent to me to do a review.

I sorry that this  guy promojo  has decided to hurt your business by refusing to demo the gear.

But I would do a fair review and a timely one for your gear just send me the pm to set it up for me.
21915  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: DragonMint 16TH/S halongmining.com on: December 18, 2017, 03:25:59 PM
***  Halongmining Dragonmint miner is a SCAM! If someone buys their miners without any well-known and trusted Forum Users 1st getting one for doing a review and posting it here then well, you have been warned ***

Guess time to start adding the SEO tagging to posts here.
Maybe it will prod a certain someone into providing the proofs that folks here are asking for?
Do your review as promised and the SEO tag goes away.

we just got new difficulty in  about 20%  jump

So with coins at 18000 plus

and this vapor gear due in March or April

a few more big jumps  and  it will not be much of anything even if it is real.

and as I said  bitmain will simply sell  the s-9 for 750 or 800 and crush  this gear with  a 120 day wait for delivery.

I feel sorry for those that purchased it even it they get it in April.

Bitmain sent me an email  and my Jan 15-31 gear is arriving in 2 days.

Just a followup .  Op and I have talked about me doing a demo  a youtube video  and I am hoping to get a unit by christmas.

I really have a lot of interest in this rig  and the nvidia version in particular.

Zec or Zcash is smoking.

I have 28000-29000 sols

at

https://zcash.miningpoolhub.com/index.php?page=dashboard

The op's nvidia rig  should really roi quickly.

At autominer.at  any info on the rig would be great.

I have sunk a lot into more gpu gear. As buysolar and I plan to have a second  solar array by the end of spring.

4 or 5 of these  would be great in the array.

Hi again Philipma!

We hit a little bump due to us getting a "bad memory" delivery on the NVIDIA cards (Hynix) so we will have to send them back and order new ones.
This would set our delivery date back a little but if it´s mainly zcash you want to mine with them the memory won´t have quite as much impact, so we can still send that to you if you´re ok with having a little worse ETH hashrates...

send them  I am  a zec guy miner for the most part.

I want to show this baby off to everyone Grin

eyeboots usb 3.0  19 port hub.

https://www.amazon.com/Eyeboot-Port-110-120V-amps-port/dp/B01EB33JOK/ref=sr_1_1?

it has 16 ports on top and 3 on the side 19 ports total.

with the stock tiny fan you can alternate ports to fit.

my advice is pull the stock fans and use my method if the noise is a non issue.

those fans i use are the scythe ultra craze fan.

https://www.amazon.com/Scythe-DFS123812H-3000-Ultra-Kaze-120mm/dp/B001JKNMBE/ref=sr_1_1?

7 watts per fan moving 133 cfm  2 fans move 266 cfm.

most likely I won't use the stock fans in my setup.

Nice setup, such a bummer that really no one makes some good hubs and the few out there are that style you have and are crazy expensive.

I think I'm going with some of the anker 60w hubs -- I have some batch 1's coming so hopefully I'll get the bugs worked out before Batch 2 units arrive.

Have you taken any temp readings @ 756? -- Anyone know what the desired temp range is for these things?

When I get my setup I'll post up, I recently picked up a FLIR camera as well so hopefully I can do some illustrations of that.

I have a heat gun forgot where it is.

But with the fans I am using the sticks are not hot to the touch which means they are well under 60c

I am guessing under 50c.  The hub can do eight sticks easy.

I have all three hubs from eyeboot

The 49 port usb 2

The 19 port usb 3.0

The 19 port usb 2.0

They are not cheap but I had them from sidehacks compac sticks a few years ago.
