Thank you so much for this quick answer
just one more question. since i'm using 3 6pin ports on the PSU to power those 3 riserz, is there any direct 6pin to 6pin cable or something to avoid using 2-3 converts on the way..since both sides are 6pin why convert to 2x sata/molex then back to 6pin
Thank you in advance
yeah buy six of these and ignore the guy above you https://www.amazon.com/Silverstone-Sleeved-Extension-Connector-PP07-IDE6BR/dp/B00H45K3QA/ref=sr_1_2?but let me check that psu for you it has 6 pcie cables not sure if all are 2 headed this says they are. so take pcie cable 1 and attach the silverstone extender go to the riser with that and the 8 pin go to the gpu it will do 6 gpus make sure you have 6 pin risers see this link my way you skip the sata all together you use 1 24 pin cable 1 cpu cable 6 two headed pcie cables with the red silverstone extender https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UB67V2648&cm_re=six_pin_pcie_riser-_-17Z-00CS-00002-_-Producthttps://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA1UH4R24325&cm_re=evga_1000_g2-_-17-438-010-_-ProductLearn more about the EVGA 120-G2-1000-XR Model Brand EVGA Model 120-G2-1000-XR Series SuperNOVA 1000 G2 Details Type ATX12V / EPS12V Maximum Power 1000W Fans 1 x 140mm Double Ball Bearing Fan Main Connector 24Pin +12V Rails Single PCI-Express Connector 6 x 6+2-Pin, 2 x 6-Pin SATA Power Connector 10 SLI SLI Ready Haswell Support Certified Modular Full Modular Efficiency 90% (115 VAC) / 92% (220 VAC - 240 VAC) efficiency or higher Energy-Efficient 80 PLUS GOLD Certified Over Voltage Protection Yes Input Voltage 100 - 240 V Input Frequency Range 50/60 Hz Input Current 15A Output +3.3@20A, +5V@20A, +12V@83.3A, +5BSB@2.5A, -12V@0.5AMTBF 100,000 Hours Approvals TUV, CB, CE, FCC, RCM, cTUVus, BSMI, WEEE, RoHS, Compliance with ErP Lot 6 2013 Requirement Dimensions 3.35" x 5.91" x 7.87" Weight 7.00 lbs. As long time lurker in these threads I have to admit Phil has and continues to do a massive public service with the stuardship here thanks again to everybody else too (too many to name) the contribution and wealth of knowledge in these threads are whole weekend worthy rabbithole inducing Even for lazy old STRICLTY ASIC set up guys like myself. Every time I watch the latest BBT or lately even whatever VOSK is thrown up (SHOUTOUT TO VOSK i was like your 112th sub) Anyway my eyes glaze over and envision the seemingly endless morays of whatever misfortune my lie ahead for me being mac OS only setup even down to the routers cause I can barely tolerate android phones or Windows Machines "OS" drivers upon fucking drivers drivers for hours then more updates and drive hrs whatever.. And please...LINUX? GTFOH Honestly not once but multiple failures later it's borderline PTSD for should I dare venture into the altcoin/mlutiple pints of failure GPU scenes even thegpushackdude who sends you the idiot proof linux build "turnkey" shit got so sick of me that he literally refunded me just I would go away! Without that embarrassing backstory now out of the way I was hoping for some opinions on the following package of "openbox" 1080ti hybrids (5 Total) in the particular offer I'm kicking around in my mind and if there's any hidden issues you anyone might be able to steer clear from before I go fail miserably again trying to conquer my altcoinphobia et al.. www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-HYBRID-GAMING-Technology/dp/B0713XX64Y?psc=1 &SubscriptionId=AKIAJM5QXLFGO5WBB4VQ&tag=yroo0d9-20&linkCode=xm2&camp=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B0713XX64Y So there's 5 Ti's all with the massive hybrid water cooler things are they going to be able to work in a "straight to the motherboard" riserless design? Or am I way off on that? If risers are are gonna be a thing I'd rather stay away I really dig Phil's straight to the board approach eliminating as many points of poytential failure as possible. Anyway thanks again guys for this thread especially Phil ;-) Cheers MichaelC yeah you should be able to do 5 and get them to fit. I purchased this case from spotswood. it is designed for the onda b250 board and hybrid cards. the b250 will do up to 7 hybrid cards and a short card riser free but if you use 1080 ti's maybe only 5 would work. the 1500 watts rosewill tokamak is on sale on ebay https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rosewill-TOKAMAK-1500W-Full-Modular-Power-Supply-80-PLUS-TITANIUM-Certified/172974471489?and there are lots of coupons for it. pgifts1010% ebucks and 40 off if you buy 2 it is a solid psu contact spotswood for the hybrid case https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=30964https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2491321.msg25577875#msg25577875I have a house of macs and here is a big fuck you to the present mac mangement for killing off mac minis (almost dead) Linux with smos is easy peasy . I would hold your hand to set it up. They charge 2 dollars a rig each month well worth it. I have 20 rigs with them I may end up with 40 to 50 by the end of 2018.

Thanks phil, grabbed 2 of the psu. I'm using a freight forwarder but should still be worth it.
the one I have is doing very well running 5 1080tis and a ryzen 1800x

Do you think this would work; 2 hybrid 1080ti + 1070/1070ti mini 3 hybrid 1080ti??? it is all about if the case will fit them. the hybrids can be closer and still cool. but the radiators are big. you should fit 2 of them in a bigger sized case not sure about 3. but if they fit you will stay cool enough.

Because some of us DESPISE the garbage reliability level of recent Bitmain products.
In large scale deploys Bitmains failure rate is only around 7-8%. While its still on the high side its quite managable especially when you compare it to the 30% failure rate I experienced with Ebangs products. Avalon is still the king with a 1.7% failure rate on large deploys. fanatic26 - What is the source of the reliability numbers for Bitmain, ebang and Avalon you are quoting here? Your experience, another bitcoin talk tread, any third party analysis or report? Please elaborate. On the s9's, I have 12 of them in my farm ranging from batch-1 up to b25. To date have had 5 hash boards die, 1 from batch-7, 1 from b9, 2 from b11 and 1 from batch-13., all within this year since June. You do the math. my avalon 741's are failing at a far greater rate then any avalon i ever had. my s-9's are worse but I am now 2 failed avalon 741's of 4 owned. my 721's were perfect 6 for 6 and ran for a year. my 6's were 20 of 21 and the one i killed was my fault. my 4.1's were 7 of 7. in general the avalon were good for me until the 741's. and to those that truly sent money to this company for vapour gear. where I guy swears he has one for testing in hand and does not show us jack shit good luck. Once again to the builds of this vaporware shoot me a pm and I will test it and do a long set of youtube videos showing it kicking the s-9's butt or just ignore me like the other vaporware companies do. vaporware till i have one in my house.

Can someone confirm this is a really big pump , and the dump is coming. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) What goes up must come down - that's the buy/sell pattern of any trading.... the difference with Bitcoin is that the pattern is very erratic because there is not enough liquidity in the market (ie. everything other coin by large is still paired/bought using Bitcoin). With new money (USD$) coming into the system, expect the wild swings to be tighter.... 2018 will be a good year for us miners, in my humble opinion.... expect 100K BTC easy. Note: pump and dump will always be there, just like stock market, even more in crypto markets because its not fully regulated like stock trading etc. I think the only real threat to Bitcoin is ..... a. Bitcoin Cash b. Privacy virtual currency c. No adoption d. Bitcoin her self... 100k would be insane. You really believe that Citronick? Everthing is insane.... anything can happen. Do you believe that this is current price of BTC and alts as of this hour, minute.... BTC 16k DASH 953$ ETH 730$ LTC 305$ XMR 326$ some advice to all sell some coins. 5%,10%,15% sell some me I sold a ton of my coins have under .2 btc and under 1.0 bcc

Previous group buy was tried by philipma1957 and he is the best guy for the job. But the group buy got frozen, Canaan did not want to accept BTC payment. It is better just to use your local official distributor. https://canaan.io/official-distributors/I bought one A741 with controller and psu from my local (Europe) distributor Cryptouniverse and it arrived smoothly in yesterday. not doing that again. 2 days works for nothing nada zip.

If possible would their be an advantage to merge mine with bitcoincash. And also it seems UNO has a lot of blocks not accepted, are you seeing that here
It's not possible to merge mine with bcash due - their coin does not have the necessary functionality to be mined as an aux coin. UNO probably is getting blocks not accepted because they hard forked recently - if pools haven't updated their software then they'll be invalid. would be nice time to hit a low cdf block

Every bit of hash helps! Maybe you'll be the lucky block finder and take home that extra 1 BTC bonus ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) running a lowly 30gh would be a very nice longshot.

the red foam protects mobo from static I like this idea as my winter humidity drops under 30%
isnt that red foam anti static? if it is then its mildly conductive, which gives it its anti static properties. not really recommended to be in contact with actively running electronics, although lots of people have done it. i get no readings on my meters when I test for conductivity . it reads open circuit

Love the video Phil - My bedroom looks like your garage - not in terms of rigs just in terms of I don't have a bedroom, it's more like an office/warehouse lol. I couldn't help it, I haven't moved into the new warehouse yet but decided to build one of the 1070 TI's - these things I am in love with - running it in my bedroom as all panels in the garage are fully loaded. ASUS Prime z270-A G4400 4gb EVGA 1600w P2 Overkill but I have a few of them laying around so why not. Doing about 4.4 Sol/W ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FpnzuSro.jpg&t=664&c=vNVe8-TmjgKUgw) 6th Card I installed on one of my 5 card 1080 TI's already, didn't feel like detaching it. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FNsYE5Rh.png&t=664&c=2GKXIVBjzO53fg) what's nice is the water blocks are quiet. I am close to capped out in the garage. 19-20 amps on a 30 amp pdu. it is fused and tends to blow fuses around the 22 amp mark. I have an 8 card rig --------- 7x 1070ti hybrid's and 1 1070 hybrid I have a 7 card rig ----------- 5 x 1070ti hybrids and 2 1080 ti hybrid I have a 5 card rig just built- 2 1080 ti, 2 1070 ti, 1 1070 I have a 4 card rig ------------- 2x 1070 water block 2x 1070 hybrid I have a 4 card rig ------------- ryzen and 2 1070 ti hybrid and 2 hybrid 1080 ti I have a 4 card rig ------------ 1 1070 hybrid 1 hybrid 1070 ti hybrid 2 1080 ti I have a 1 card rig ------------ 1 1050 ti and 2 ltc mainlander sticks so 33 cards pulling say 4800 watts I can not really do much more then this or it will overheat. and I guess it is more then 17k worth of gear. plus the solar array and my friends office. I think I have 40k in paid gear in the three locations. The new solar array is moving along we checked the property out and may start some construction. I can finally move stuff out of the garage will be nice.

Update... it didn't work.
I attached the 4 pcie connectors to the s9. 3 on a single blade, and the 4th on the connector. I used the jumper block, so the PSU came on. S9 powered on, had quiet fan, turbo fan, then quiet fan. I was able to access the web interface, but miner status showed nothing was happening. I powered off and powered on a few times, but still nothing. I disconnected everything and will wait for the APW3 PSU. If when the good PSU comes I need help again, I'll post. Thanks to all of you who replied to me.
you fucked up just let it run for a good 20 to 30 minutes. never turn it on and 0ff and on and off quickly. turn it on and look in about 30 minutes

Well I just spend 5 hours trying to get 4 * Vega 64 working on a Gigabyte Z170-HD3...
instead of busting your ass to get 4 on 1 board. buy the same board it is pretty cheap and do 3 on it... After a reboot this morning, it magically found all 4 cards! 8,200 h/s now! Phil can you comment; I need to fix up my gaming PC. The story goes that I bought a 3*PCIE16x motherboard (ASUS Prime 270-AR) to make it a trio rig with SLI capability. So I plugged in 2 * EVGA 1080ti SC plus a GTX 1070 full-length. Sure enough, the middle card runs HOT (80°C). To be fair - I always planned on using a mini, I just haven't bought one yet. So after playing games with SLI, it turns out that these days it pretty much sucks. So I'm happy to run a rig with no SLI capability. Here's what I will do; * Move all cards to my new Nvidia rig (will join a 1070ti*2) * Bring in an ASUS Strix 1080ti for main GPU slot to play games * Buy two well-suited cards to mine with 24/7 Is it critical that the main GPU (slot #0) be a 'blower' too? I have room in the new Nvidia rig to house everything left over while buying 3 new GPU for the gaming rig. What's a good blower GPU for slot #1? What's a good mini/blower GPU for slot #2? Basically, what's the best cherry-picked set-up today for a trio mining rig off 850W PSU? two blowers and a mini if in a case. https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=11G-P4-5390-KRhttps://www.amazon.com/MSI-GTX-1070-ITX-AERO/dp/B06X1GZB5F/ref=sr_1_1?and here is the link to the you tube video https://youtu.be/JBhFJKDE-ps
