Leute,

Sache ist, bis zu 500 Euro könnte ich schon verschmerzen...to do, or not to do?

I don't think you managed to grasp the point of my first post in this thread.

I will let whoever reads this post now decide on that, I think we've answered your assumptions of it being a good advertisement for Bitcoin already.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to build a wallet generator till you hit the jackpot ? on: November 06, 2013, 07:28:13 PM
The numbers involved are really really huge ...

I agree with you.  Using uppercase and lowercase letters, along with numbers is a remarkably compact way of representing "really really huge" numbers.

I don't think you managed to grasp how huge those numbers are.

For purposes of this promotion, do not search for full addresses.  Search for the first 8 characters of each one on your list of dormant accounts.  As you have demonstrated, humans require positive feedback.

*facepalm*

This is like trying to find a diamond with random digging with a shovel and then saying "For the purposes of this promotion, we will search for a normal rock instead".
226  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to build a wallet generator till you hit the jackpot ? on: November 06, 2013, 07:05:16 PM
Which is a better deal mathematically?

  • Buying lottery tickets for $1 each, with a $100 million prize
  • Having unlimited free chances to find a private key to a dormant Bitcoin account with millions of dollars in it

Did you even read our posts?
They are not free.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to build a wallet generator till you hit the jackpot ? on: November 06, 2013, 06:59:11 PM
I agree with you.

But for promotional and entertainment purposes ...

...are tons of ideas more suitable than "hey, you could empty a Bitcoin address" that sounds like Bitcoin addresses are insecure.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there a way to build a wallet generator till you hit the jackpot ? on: November 06, 2013, 06:30:33 PM
We should not promote stealing.  It should only target abandoned addresses.

So, how do you know if an address is abandoned?

And spinning the wheel is free, at many times per second.

Not really, it costs energy to do that.
Even if the computer is on anyway it would use more energy doing all the work.

Please ignore me back.
Alright, Mr Wavebear who didn't get the joke, I know what 90% of your posts say anyway.
They say "Bitcoin will crash hard" and some subsubsubsubsub-wave nonsense.

No misquote here:

The 7th November might be even more interesting, if we reach the peak today and then crash very hard.  Wink

I was wrong in my recognition of the sub-sub-sub waves, the third and most powerful was yet to come, and nicely it climbed,
especially in China. I should have trusted the theory about it, but to me the panic buyers seemed exhausted on Gox.
Anyway, China led this and I should have looked at their charts more. The sub-sub-sub-waves on Gox were difficult to recognize, and
the drop in market indicators didn't mean in this case the large drop at the end of the sub-sub-wave, but an intermediary drop
between sub-sub-sub-waves 2 and 3. What I am expecting is that once the 3rd sub-sub-sub-wave is depleted, the panic sellers
will see the last chance to sell on the rebound, and that should trigger a large drop, as sub-sub-sub-wave 4. That's my interpretation
of what just happened and might happen soon, but we'll see...

It can't be 1000$ and it can't be 1$, stop posting extreme views. This is going to a new ATH and then a massive crash.
The new ATH can't be 1000$, but could be over 300$,  and the crash can't go down to 1$, but it could be below 100$.

The drop is imminent, but it remains to be seen if there will be 3 drops in relatively quick succession or just 1 followed by a slow recovery.
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10k Sell wall just now on: November 06, 2013, 05:09:24 PM
He managed to sell 3.5k out of the 10k, but he may be running out of time.

Why? The longest time will be waiting for the Gox dollars anyway.

But I agree that he probably sold ~3.5k of his 10k stash already (and he is also kinda nuts with his wall orders, it's funny to watch).
232  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitQuick.co is donating 25% of October revenue for Breast Cancer Awareness Month on: November 06, 2013, 04:33:57 PM
It's not like people get cancer from eating carrots and broccoli.

Cancer is a lifestyle disease. So why would I donate money to someone who lives a shoddy lifestyle?

This isn't true, while bad habits may increase the chance of getting cancer, they are not the only cause for it.

*edit*   consider donating thru gofundme to this cause instead

 Cancer related

You probably should read about Steve Jobbs death, he declined all medical treatment in order to use a wide range of alternate medice and it failed.
Not saying all of those are bad, but there is a lot of pseudy-science in there. (Lucky for them, believing does help a bit though, placebo effect is kinda strong)

Sure, Bitcoin is open source, so it's not that difficult to do that (if you are versed in that topic).
It just wouldn't be "Bitcoins" and getting a userbase for it will be difficult. A government could do that (and would be treating its people like idiots, if it tells them those are the real Bitcoins).
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: 10k Sell wall just now on: November 06, 2013, 04:01:05 PM
I think whoever is doing that wall-planting game of placing a wall and removing it once the first buys reach it, just "lost" 1k of his 10k stash (they got bought instantly).

If you ask that, people will throw all sorts of crazy numbers at you, are you ready for that? ^^

Math

Ehh...math. Make it go away! Here take my opinion instead!

Smiley

(That doesn't mean that I think this Math prooves anything, there are too much variables in this game to answer it with a simple math equation ^^)
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: No block source available, need help ASAP on: November 06, 2013, 02:54:59 PM
You could import the wallet.dat to blockchain.info
https://blockchain.info/wallet/import-wallet

(your wallet.dat is the file that holds the keys to your Bitcoins, it's probably located at C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Bitcoin )

What about the .02 that isn't in my wallet yet?

You don't hold actual Bitcoins in the wallet, you hold the keys to the address that allows you to spend them to other addresses.
So if you import the key, they will also be on the blockchain.info (no you cannot spend them from both and double the Bitcoins, only one would go through ;p).
