You can hear all the advice in the world, but the only real way to learn in life is to fail.
I got scammed out of $800 last week. Peanuts compared to 8.5BTC but it still stung because every dollar counts when you are starting out. Luckily, this "kid" was just saving up to travel and doesn't have a wife and kids that are starving. He will be fine.
Also, if he is seriously desperate, have him make a youtube video showing his face, and showing the transactions and all that crap. He might get something out of it.

I am having trouble solo mining. I have never solo mined before so bare with me.
Here is my earthcoin.conf in my c:/users/me/appdata/roaming directory.
listen=1 daemon=1 server=1 rpcuser=waramp22.htpc rpcpassword=mypassword rpcport=15678 rpcconnect=127.0.0.1 (do i use this or my IP address?) addnode=77.244.7.167 addnode=188.194.13.44
Restarted earthcoin.qt and let it sync to the network.
Here is my cgminer batch file.
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100 cgminer --scrypt -o 127.0.0.1:15678 -u waramp22.htpc -p mypassword --gpu-engine 1130 --gpu-memclock 1650 --temp-target 85 -I 20 -w 256 --thread-concurrency 21712 --lookup-gap 2 -g 1
Im getting a pool 0 down or credentials invalid error. I had already setup earthcoin.qt and was pool mining for a bit and i have a balance in my wallet. So im not sure if i can change now or if i have to start over.

Whenever I see people say this I wonder if they actually know ltc profitability. It's less than half of what our worst days usually are
Do you think normally mining LTC has worse profitability that mining with this pool today?
|
|
|
I think you're talking about pooled mining. "Mining pools are a way for miners to pool their resources together and share their hashing power while splitting the reward equally according to the amount of shares they contributed to solving a block. A "share" is awarded to members of the mining pool who present a valid proof of work that their miner solved. Mining in pools began when the difficulty for mining increased to the point where it could take years for slower miners to generate a block and by pooling their resources together, miners were able to generate blocks quicker and receive a portion of the block reward on a regular basis, rather than once every few years." http://www.bitcoinmining.com/bitcoin-mining-pools/In the early years, you could mine bitcoin with a regular PC. Since there is so many people mining it now with huge machines, it is almost impossible to find a bitcoin. Users now join together on websites known as pools and mine bitcoin. This way they can find a bitcoin every few weeks and everyone gets a piece of the profit instead of mining for years by themselves with nothing to show for it.

besides if he is a scammer or not, how does that matter if he is or not asian? dude thats just racist
Call it what you want, but for many him being a scammer because he is Asian is an educated guess.

utter nonsense, first off I'm German and secondly it is beyond me where you got the idea from that the account is me.
My apologies i thought you were donbamba the original poster. Go take a break and realize that your racism is absurd.
No thanks. I will pick out scammers based on any criteria i want.

What does it have to do with being Asian?
This begging thread has alot to do with you being Asian because Asians make up a large percentage of scammers. Once again, you forgot the transaction ID.
|
|
|
You are clearly asian. You type in broken english and i couldnt give 2 shits if you lost 50 BTC.
You make me want to vomit Why? Did you read the rest of the post? If you wanted a community to bail you out so your son got his most wanted gift at christmas time, wouldn't you provide them with facts insead of a drawn out sob story in broken english? If he can prove it, i will send him DOGE. Until them, he reeks of a scammer.
|
|
|
Yes i have the transaction id if that helps and i was only thinking about how happy my boy will be when i give him half million doge so i didnt even tough straight.
Until you post the tranaction ID i wouldnt sell you 1 DOGE for $100 USD via bankwire because you are a begger/scammer. You are clearly asian. You type in broken english and i couldnt give 2 shits if you lost 50 BTC. POST THE TRANSACTION ID OR END THIS THREAD.

So, my best guess is that the pool operators are still in the (everlasting) process of fine-tuning this pool. Give-em a break please. The results of the last 2 days of mining the latest hypecoin were superb !! GO COWS, GO !! Alright. My concern is that there is no way to get a good benchmark of how profitable this pool and DOGE is compared to a regular LTC pool. I see all of these issues with the switching and now the exchange being delayed. Maybe i will head over to coinotron for a week and see how the LTC is doing.

5647 - DOGE 47 min 23 seconds 5648 - WDC 2 min 4 seconds 5649 - DOGE 1 min 48 seconds 5650 - WDC 2 min 4 seconds 5651 - DOGE 32 min 2 seconds
Complete waste of everyones downtime to switch to round 5649.
