Or just PM him the image so you don't have to guess at which IP it was.
N1 Perfecto Yes, it is not even needed to attach a real image. A white pixel on a white background comes to mind. You can disable this technique in some browsers, iirc, if you care.

The shape now looks (to my untrained eye) quite similar to the crash shape in april.

Could you please supply further information?

I dont know if my answer is offtopic but I use just VanityGen and a regular low cost printer, ...
Not at all! Love it. Vanity addresses have a certain touch...

Why do you care for A? You can recalculate the public address with the private keys.
You are absolutely right. Having A and its qr-code on paper makes it available without the need to import its private key first, when the need to deposit arises later. I should have stated this as use-case, sorry (iirc, an address is needed in order to dump a private key)

Hello everybody,
I find lots of javascript online, javascript offline, online-services, armory related instruction online.
Is something wrong with this process?
1. Boot live-cd with qrencode and only bitcoind already installed (no internet access) 2. Generate address A via getnewaddress command 3. Get private key P for A via dumpprivkey command 4. Generate qr codes for A,P via qrencode 5. Print A,P, qr codes
Looking forward to obtaining your input.

No shit. The obvious reason for this is that Mt. Gox does not do a good job of communications.
For my part, a lack of information is a neutral indication of incompetence. Deliberate mis-information such as what they have produced with their 'several weeks' assertions are no longer neutral. This has turn me hostile to Mt. Gox over the last few weeks.
A fun thought experiment: Take the information you think is true. Your task is to find Mt.Gox actions that enables all Mt.Gox users equally to act without destroying the exchange beyond the possibility of repair. Tell us your findings here. P.S.: If you are Mt.Gox friendly, you could add that counterparties are interested in aggravating the situation through altering perception (i.e. through blogs, forum entries ...). Bitcoin-land I love you.

It just occurred to me that although it is doubtful that pressure purely from mainstream financial institutions and regulators could drive Mt. Gox completely out of business, it is entirely possible that large players in the Bitcoin community could by engineering various liquidity events and such. And Mt. Gox has made a lot of enemies (e.g., Peter Vessenes and the like.) Not to mention all of the players who would like a bigger piece of the pie (e.g., Bitstamp, BTCChina, Bitpay, etc, etc.)
A combined effort between mainstream financial players and larger players in the Bitcoin sphere could have a really devastating effect on Mt. Gox in spite of Mark's long built empire of liquidity (including his Smaug-like situation sitting on atop pools of BTC of questionable history like to Bitcoinica stash and God knows what else.)
Just a hypothesis to mull over...
Please elaborate on the various liquidity events.

My verification had not been processed within 10 days. Then, when I requested account cancellation I obtained a message that one side of my national id was not of proper quality. The very same scan was accepted 2 weeks earlier to open a bank account...
As your support does not answer my tickets, I ask my question here:
Where and how should I direct my request for account cancellation to, now? FWIW, I was verified before the business interruption.

You have not even channeled a single test-customer through your verification pipeline in order to anticipate possible problems.
Bitcoin - I love you.

Just bringing this here for completeness, since a few people are interested in domestic JPY delays as well. From #mtgox today: 11:33 <@MagicalTux> we just met with the bank for domestic transfer today 11:33 <@MagicalTux> within 2 to 3 months we'll be able to offer realtime transfers in Japan (you press a button on mtgox.com, the next second your account is credited)
No news about international wires. This information belongs into the more official channels like facebook, Mt.Gox homepage. It does not belong into btctalk/irc only. Now sturle, please make this happen so that a broader audience is brought into the feedback loop. If it is not going to happen, I assume many readers of this thread will stop reading this entertaining thread and (finally) start drawing conclusions.

They still owe me money from before!
Ouch. I thought everyone was re-imbursed in full. However, I really thought that the 'come-out-of-a-crisis-stronger' theme could apply, but my latest experiences make me doubt this. Good luck BC. Kent out.

Imho they should have stayed in a closed beta for a month, instead taking a potentially final reputation hit. Maybe this would still be a good choice, as long as the volume is that low?
