Was there already a string from a song "All I want for Christmas is you!"? In my opinion, it would be a great gift for a person who is aware of cryptocurrencies. In my surroundings there are not so many people who really understand what's going on around in the world and know about digital economy.

Okay, this topic was started in 2013, when most people barely heard about bitcoin. It's 2018 now and it's still not even a fully realised currency. Do you think it will ever be?

i cannot see how bitcoin can be regulated. i think its impossible to prevent people from buying into it. they may look to collect tax revenue from people liquidating crypto into fiat but im not sure how that can be done because of the unregulated nature of crypto.
It depends on the amounts people convert into fiat. The enormous amounts are not likely to pass by banks and Revenue Service unnoticed. In some highly corrupted countries like mine it could be a problem - even though crypto is not recognized in the legislation. They will find the way to take your money form you

For now in most cases crypto is an asset, in not so many countries there is an opportunity to cash them out or to pay in retail stores. But I don't deny the possibility that in some 2-3 years this will change and the currency features of the crypto will be able to be applied.

I think more retailers will began accepting Bitcoin when governments are accepting of it. That way, retailers won't face a crackdown from the government if they implement Bitcoin payments.
In addition, retailers may be afraid of the mess happening with bitcoin price jumping one moment high another moment down. The volatility will cause many troubles if to use bitcoin as the means of payment.

I have some savings in US dollars and want to convert them in my national currency, but i`m waiting for the US dollar to become more expensive. Will this happend this year? What will be the factors behind such price increase? If the USD increase it`s value ,how it will influence bitcoin and altcoins prices? I have my own theory about this, but i want to hear other people`s opinions.
I think the rate of dollar in the realtion to your national currecny will depend on the economics of your country and some other national politics-specific factors. And this rate is easier to predict than the trends of cryptocurrency prices which (I agree with the previous post) doesn't directly depend on dollar rate. To me, dollar is just a means to reflect the value of a cryptocurrency.

I expect the new - or relatively new - faces (some 3-5 cryptocurrencies) on the market with making their positions stable till the end of the year. I guess bitcoin will lose the leading role but the dominating cryptocurrency won't be defined.

I don't understand the idea of creation of the state currency. Why is it needed if the idea of crypto is decentralisation and globalization... but I still don't believe in the idea of a single global currency because this may lead to poverty in many countries. So, let fiat and crypto exist in parallel

Most people here and reddit will defend bitcoin no matter what instead of looking at the problems. Every time someone comments something about the speed or transaction fees they will just yell ''FUD'' or ''Another attack on bitcoin'' but it's not always that. I have been a strong supporter of bitcoin myself but we have to face it, it's not in a good position right now, sure the price is great but what else? Insane fees that are not getting solved any time soon? I know the demand is high but the ones that are buying are just buying to sell eventually not to support bitcoin, not to use it. The demand will eventually fade away and what do we have left? An outdated bitcoin that won't be able to compete with better coins.
ohmygod, eventually the sober thought! I really don't understand all the hype around bitcoin. The fact it was the first only means the technology needs to be enchanced every time to be able to compete... Will it in the nearest future, when new and more advanced blockchains are developed?

No, it won't be crashed. At least not in the nearest 50 years in developed countries. With the help of what means do you commonly evaluate the value of bitcoin? I bet, this is not gold. You use fiat currency for this because it dominates and will dominate.

I have the same question and am trying to find the way out. First decision is to split the amounts between different banks accounts when you sell your crypto for fiat. I'm thinking about using virtual cards like Payoneer. Anyone knows anything about them + crypto?

|
I think it's quite possible, first starting with a set of forward-looking countries, then adopted in the other countries. Still the process will be slow and instead of bitcoin there will be another currency

Due to high volatility you never know what will be the future price of btc. You should always be ready to lose the amount you invested. And have other investments, too. I would not recomment investing in mining. Some of my friends stopped mining bitcoin because now it's really slow and almost useless. My answer to this is holding btc and looking for others resources of investment.

I guess robotized mechanisms ensure more safety on the production floors. Nowadays, workers can not cut their arms working on complex machines or something

If it's really the Holiday season which influences the prices, then the crypto market is really a huge bubble...

|

I guess I would invest in real estate, it's like crisis is gone and this sphere may be a good profit resource

In my country crypto is not taxed. It is even not recognized on the state level. But there were cases of special purpose police unit raids on the homes of crypto analysts with confiscation of equipment and PCs... Our government doesn't want people to use cryptocurrencies untaxed. But there are also no regulations in this sphere yet...

Some nations will become poor, some will be wealthy and dominating. That's because of different ways and levels of economic evolution. I consider the idea of one global currency to be impossible. And those who write: yes, make bitcoin the global currency... are you alright?
