221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Something feels off about Kaspa on: May 27, 2024, 11:16:48 AM
Can you elaborate few points? Maybe you lost me here. I start by saying that i am not advocating Kaspa in any way, i know too little of them to do so.

But you are saying it doesn't have an utility?
Utility is quite subjective in  my opinion especially when one has different purposes or goals with a specific project. Maybe op thought that there was no use for it and just occupies unnecessary space.

I don't see anything wrong with trying to make something better or different than bitcoin. It's not an attack to bitcoin, but just normal development. Bitmain would obviously be interested to push this because it's Proof of Work.
Of course it;s not an attack to bitcoin but if it is not doing what it promise to do then what is the point?

This used to be a common thing with "community" driven projects, and it's natural that project attracts professionals who want to participate. And what would be more motivated worker then a person who have fallen love with the coin, who is also total believer and fanatic.
If the members are just its own employees then it raises questions about its relevancy an potential popularity as well as reliability. Besides there is a higher chance that these employees withdraw just as immediately
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will always Survive on: May 27, 2024, 11:00:18 AM
Nowadays with the increase in the value of bitcoin the demand for bitcoin is increasing and it has become a part of many societies. Many countries around the world are supporting bitcoin. The use of bitcoin is possible through the Internet so bitcoin will continue as long as the Internet exists. With the advancement of technology the internet is advancing further.
Yes you are right that bitcoin is dependent on the availability of the internet however do not disregard the fact that the government can easily cut off all our internet and even ban certain websites or applications no matter how widely used they are all around the world.

Just take China for example they were able to censor different kinds of content using their firewall. Facebook, Instagram, even Gmail are some of the biggest used platforms in the world but is banned in China. Of course I am sure there are plenty ways to slip through its security but I am sure that no one will appreciate extra steps just to do access something. Not to mention the possibility of the government finding out.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DeFi, AI, NFT & Gaming on Bitcoin is a scam? on: May 27, 2024, 10:55:41 AM
I'm doubt that DeFi, AI, NFT & Gaming on Bitcoin will be success .. What do you really think about these narratives called Layer 2 And Defi on Bitcoin?

I think you are mistaken here. DeFi, AI, NFT and Gaming are not layer 2 projects. They have very different purposes for being on the bitcoin blockchain. Layer 2 projects are created to help ease the amount of transactions in the blockchain that causes congestion and resulting in much higher fees.

DeFi, AI, NFT, and Gaming projects on bitcoin are separate projects that most of the time have no really useful purpose on the blockchain.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An interesting story and experience of a gambler on: May 27, 2024, 10:54:32 AM
Anyways, lets discuss about this, feel free to put your comments below.

It was interesting to read this story. He was lucky, so twice more. A win that is higher than 1,900 times! I wonder what he was playing at? Are there any such winnings in slots? Nevertheless, we saw the presence of a man who could not cope with self-control and could not tell himself to Stop.
inspiring , there are only few of us or very few that will experience this kind as imagine more than 1900x ? that is an insane multiplier even if you only bet 1 buck then that is more than enough to win.

Quote
I've always misunderstood such people. Is it really not clear that you can't always win like that?
If you're lucky once, then you're damn lucky and you should just stop. But there are so few stories with a happy ending...
this is a small chance to win mate,  this is something that will never happen each time and i believe this is a once in a lifetime chance .

I admit that this will never happen to me , if does then thank you for the luck .
225  Other / Off-topic / Re: not to trust anyone on: May 26, 2024, 04:14:53 AM
It's hard to trust people you've never met online.
What?

Do you mean people you haven’t met personally and only met through online? Op didn’t even mention having an online friend. But you are right that it’s difficult to trust people online as everything can be easily faked these days. They can give you fake and misleading information backed up with documents they have also falsified. It’s still recommended to be careful whether with friends online or In real life.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are your holdings ready for this altcoinseason? on: May 26, 2024, 04:08:40 AM
I think the altcoins that are already in my fortopolio are very ready for the next altcoin season, because the altcoins that I currently hold are in the top 10 CMC such as ethereum, binance, solana, xrp, and ton coin, for memecoins I keep doge and shiba inu, and currently I am monitoring several memecoins that have the potential to provide profits in the future,
I’d say that is a really good portfolio. You invested in top altcoins that are sure to make profit while still holding on to some memecoins for some huge unexpected growth. With how many memecoins are releasing these days, I am sure a few of them would show unexpected growth over the next few months. I think a new memecoin can emerge and give its investors plenty profit.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will altcoins ever cheap again? on: May 26, 2024, 03:42:56 AM
There are new altcoins coming everyday and they are generally cheap when they are new. New promising coins could be a good investment for the future.
As the competition rises, the newer coins with better technology would make older coins obsolete making them fall in price, they won't be a good investment.
There are already new coins out there with “better technology” but there are other features they have yet to perfect. Security and confidence are just a few of them.

Most people tend to stick with coins they already know and trust. Of course those who are willing to take risks can invest in new coins. Despite coins having an objectively better performance sometimes they don’t rise in value.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust bitcoin holders? on: May 26, 2024, 03:22:25 AM
NOPE.  This is the number one problem that I have with bitcoin, is that I simply do not trust others.  I guess you could say the same thing for anything in life, but the only fear I have with bitcoin succeeding is not trusting others to understand bitcoin.  Most just buy and hold bitcoin in order to "profit".  Every time I read "profit" on here I want to puke.  That's not what bitcoin is all about.  I wish more people would study it and actually educate themselves.
You are right that bitcoin was never created to profit from off. It was dutifully created to give us the choice of having a currency we can use for transactions without the need for intermediaries. It just so happens that due to its limited supply, people found a way to make money off of it. Nowadays, people just see bitcoin as an investment opportunity. I wonder if people are actually going to soon realize that we should be using bitcoin as a payment method instead.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Shops now accept BTC on: May 25, 2024, 12:48:41 PM
Because in countries where Bitcoin is illegal they use it secretly, but I think Bitcoin is used all over the world either openly or secretly.

You are right and that is why we can never get an accurate representation of how many people are actually using or owning bitcoin. Due to its decentralized nature, it’s difficult to determine where and who from each transaction is taking place. The only data we have is from those centralized exchanges.

Every time a country bans something, they are actually not getting rid of it. They are just illegalizing it. Some people are brave and still risk being penalized by the government just to use bitcoin
230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Converting bitcoin to fiat without problems on: May 25, 2024, 12:31:14 PM
Firstly, you are going to need to use a centralized exchange here. Centralized exchange have KYC so they are able to verify your identity and other information. If you are using a centralized exchange and one that has good reputation then the chances of your bank raising questions might reduce.

There’s really no sure way of preventing banks from asking questions without having to show them that you are indeed just transferring some of your money and no illegal activity is happening. However just make sure that when they do raise questions you are equipped with the required documents and hoping you are not evading any taxes because that will surely put you in trouble.
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Important Questions about the Market and Alts on: May 25, 2024, 11:45:06 AM
You seem to be focusing too much on the already 'trending' coins instead of buying things that are just getting off the ground; likely buying close to the top and stuff.
Lots of people want to buy coins that are not yet that expensive and then take huge profit from there however the key here is time. If you’re late on the game then you are just possibly buying an overhyped coin that will later on be dumped by the people who got there first before you.

So don’t rely on other people’s opinions and instead set a criteria for yourself so you can decide which coins are potentially valuable and those that are not.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial fact that the authorities would not want you to know. on: May 25, 2024, 09:32:46 AM
Buddy try taking things that concern, your family, government, and other things to your local board and not a general discussion panel. You have done this several times. It's either a story of your deceased, poverty in your country, or many others.

I believe this is a discussion that the members of your LB need to discuss and find a way to harness the situation if possible. When it comes to general economical discussion we can easily relate.
Lots of countries can relate to what op has shared.

These banks definitely have the most outrageous and strictest policies and a government with a bad system can make that 100x much worse. Usually it’s the banks’ business alone but you would need to go to government agencies to get the required documents.

In my country, this is such a hassle. You will be directed to different departments and you will be asked to wait in line for hours. Sometimes even months would pass and they still has not processed your paper! I remember it took at least a year to get the money from when a family was deceased. A year is a very long time and it shouldn’t have been that way.
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin forks and ETFs on: May 25, 2024, 09:10:51 AM
With all the hassle it seems to be to get an ETF approved, do you think financial institution would go through the hassle of giving their share holders their owned value of the second chain? How would that work exactly? And most importantly, doesn't that mean that the more ETFs gain traction, the more the original chain would keep its value over the other one? Since tradfi got in the game, it kinda gives an unfair advantage to pre-fork bitcoin chain.
I think it depends on what path the institution want to go down on.

These institutions only care about what would be both convenient and beneficial to them. Yes they could distribute the equal amount of coins in the second chain to their customers but I don’t think they would be as you said go through all that hassle. They would just be making their heads hurt with all the additional regulatory requirements attached to it if ever.

Edit: It’s funny. I also posted this on reddit and it got removed by a moderator. Probably because I mentioned ordinals, which wasn’t even the subject of the post? Really goes to show they do not encourage discussion over there.
Well reddit was made for all kinds of community and general discussion but this forum is primarily made for bitcoin and cryptocurrencies so you should expect that you can onky get this kind of valuable discussion here.
234  Economy / Gambling / Re: ♣️ CoinPoker.com ♣️ Play Crypto Poker Online - 💰 $2,000 Welcome Bonus! on: May 25, 2024, 05:54:29 AM

Although it is working fine for me as I can create an account and get the SMS verification without any issue, but I think it is better for them to remove this verification. Email verification is more than enough imo and maybe phone number verification can be set as an optional verification only.
agree in this one , because email verification is enough not unless the player wanted to add SMS verification for extra security because it seems that there is an issue regarding SMS verification or its just the blocking thats why the code is not coming to the mobile.

235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Gambling A Hobby? on: May 25, 2024, 04:40:24 AM
Personally I don't see how anyone would take a habit if losing money as a hobby and that woudl either be an excuse to keep up to with the habit or beign delusional, yeah I agree that gambling might be fun and can add thrill to a normal game but it can't be a hobby in my opinion and with the introduction of esportsbet app that has taken the losing to a whole new level and winning its now all about the money rather than fun cause I've never enjoyed any online casino game and its hardly entertaining to me.
If a gambler that's gambling as a hobby that means he is not different from someone who's addicted, it's only an addicted gambler that will gamble because he wants to gamble and make money. Some gamble to recover their loses and some gamble to earn more money because their jobs can't offer them a good pay salaries, gamblers that gambles for entertainment are not much compared to the gamblers that gambles to earn money.
don't know if there is a relevance but I think when a gambler is addicted he had different views comparing to hobbiest because if the person considered this as hobby meaning he can admit being loser because he is for enjoyment means? addict is far different from hobby.

But for sure those who consider this as hobby then they are for sure a very wealthy person  because a poor person will never treat this as that.
instead they will gamble fo completely win and not to enjoy .
236  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ 7 BTC WB ᐉ Altcoin Betting ᐉ no KYC ᕗ Instant payouts on: May 25, 2024, 03:46:39 AM

237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why use decentralized bitcoin in a centralized way? on: May 24, 2024, 02:45:43 PM
What I mean when I say grow is not just about the price but also adoption. The adoption is just not going to be fast-forwarding if the regulation is too tight to almost ban BTC like China.
I understand your point. Some people use bitcoin only for investment and nothing else and as long as they get to do that, they wouldn’t care about the regulations. Even if it meant that it would strip away bitcoin’s decentralized nature. Some other people though greatly value their privacy and really believe in the fundamental principle of bitcoin that allowing the government to control and regulate bitcoin is something they can not and will never accept.
238  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you mind being alone? on: May 24, 2024, 02:33:52 PM
I hate being alone. When I'm alone, it forces me to face myself and think about what I've done. So when I'm by myself, I constantly scroll through my phone or aimlessly watch TV shows
Same here. The silence bothers me and I always need to be constantly stimulated either by audio or visual. I guess it has something to do with environmental factors as I was growing up. It doesn’t have anything to do with not wanting to think but more of a comfort that I crave a lot, I’d say. However if you are distracting yourself through busying yourself then it might actually be a lot deeper than you might realize.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Allow Non-investors to discourage you in your Bitcoin journey...? on: May 24, 2024, 02:17:21 PM
So, why will you take advice from a non-inevestor and become discouraged not to invest into Bitcoin too? The person you are taking advice from doesn't even have a decent knowledge about Bitcoin.
Most likely those who get discouraged by non-investors are beginners or people who are not confident about their knowledge and skills in investing or trading. Obviously without much knowledge and experience, they might just take any word from about anyone.

But once you have learned even the basics, no one can convince you otherwise that investing in cryptocurrencies is a bad idea. I don’t think I have ever met an investor who was easily influenced by non-investors, most of them hold their stances because they know just how profitable investing is.
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: May 24, 2024, 02:09:11 PM
Airdrop is still a good option, but you need to spend time and money,
Most airdrops are for free, though? That is what makes them very appealing to people. They don’t really need to actually invest something to get back some profit. Although of course it’s only very rare that an airdrop actually gets value later on after its launch.
