221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ALT COIN EXCHANGES: What's your favorite? on: October 27, 2017, 10:43:05 PM
You can go to coinmarketcap.com and see what exchanges have the most volume. My favorite ones are poloniex (very old exchange with good volume, they don't list new coins), bittrex (very good exchange, very fast, good support, many new alts listings. Binance a Chinese exchange, they list coins based on the community votes, they have good volume and good support. There is also ether delta but it is mostly for the icos, for the people who want dump their icos early.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin cash or Bitcoin gold? on: October 27, 2017, 10:30:48 PM
If someone would told me that I need to choose between bitcoin cash and bitcoin gold I would choose bitcoin cash. Why?
Because bitcoin cash is already stable coin and it is pumped by koreans, it has very strong support, while bitcoin gold has nothing it is not even live, you cannot send any bitcoingold. So if you are lucky enough to have some bitcoin gold on the exchange just sell it and exchange it into bitcoin cash.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The END of ICO's? on: October 27, 2017, 10:23:35 PM
I might sort of agree with it

As months ago ICO were selling like hotcakes where ICO would instantly hit hardcap within hours, minutes or even seconds.

Then too many ICO came out, if you ever take a look at Etherdelta. Most token were sold there before they were listed to exchange at under ICO price. Some even went -40~50% of its ICO price.

I wouldn't say ICO is not profitable, but ICO should be a long term investment instead of short term flipping.

Yes most of the icos are trying to get more money than they need plus they are still holding the majority of the tokens for the "development" which I find ridiculous, they should just sell 90% to the public and hold like 10%. This 10% should be frozen for like 5 years. If the project is successful they can sell them. Some of the projects are just taking the money from the ethereum and they are dumping their company tokens. This behaviour should not be accepted.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to Earn Ethereum ? on: October 27, 2017, 10:18:57 PM
You can participate in some airdrops which are pretty common now, but it is really hard to get into good airdrop 99% of them are just scams. You can also try doing some bounty campaigns and earn some tokens and then sell them into ethereum. I must warn you that these campaigns are demanding and if you work hard you will get paid if not you wont get paid. You can alos go to the daily job which is better because you know that your effort will be rewarded and you will get some money so you can buy eth.
225  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Where to invest bitcoin? on: October 27, 2017, 10:12:31 PM
I have two bitcoins
i need to invest them
I'm looking for where to invest
Any recommendation
Well if you are a newbie I would suggest you just hold these bitcoins because you will just lose them when trading. If you don't care about the loses and you can afford it. Just create an account on bittrex.com and send them your bicoins. After that you can invest in some altcoins, they are much more volatile than bitcoin and you can make a lot of profit or lose a lot. You can also exchange these bitcoins to ethereum and start investing in some icos.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any good ICO there? on: October 27, 2017, 10:05:04 PM

Yes there are some gems still, one of them is spectre. This is my favorite one. There is also Digipulse with unique concept and real use case. They are basically trying to make crytpo assets inheritable. They are providing the infrastructure that will interact with the smartcontract so you can safe your keys there, so it is like a bank. They don't own your keys, that's why their service is fully decentralized.  You can also run your own node and be a storage provider.
227  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Confused about 2x and the 1:1 coin ownership after fork on: October 27, 2017, 10:00:45 PM
Im sorry as im sure this is answered but the more I read, the more confused I get with terms about splitting and replay tx's etc.

Can somebody help me understand the specific point of holding 1 btc and then having 1 btc and 1 btc2x after fork?

I understand that if I have 1 btc now and hold private key cold storage and dont transact for a few days around fork time.

But what I dont get is where the 1 btc2x is generated from?  Its not a new coin so its not pre-mined, right?

Is it basically down to me choosing to spend either the 1 btc or the 1 btc2x but not having ability to spend both of them?  This would seem to explain alot of the holes I think i have in my understanding.

After the fork, dont they have to become two seperate chains moving forward thus becoming a new altcoin?  Or am I missing something here that somehow wont turn btc2x and btc into 2 chains with 2 coin types after the fork happens?  Miners will be generating rewards on two chains causing generation of new coins on a new chain so i dont see how it would not be an altcoin after the fork occurs.

Is there a huge money risk here for a long-term btc holder that doesnt intend to stop holding?  I think the answer is no, not any more than usual volatile/high-risk of cryptocurrency.  Am I correct that I dont need to make a decision on my favored fork if Im just a long-term holder?  If some of my above understanding is right about the 1:1 coin holding then i think I simply would hold all my btc / btc2x and in 20 years, i could cashout one or the other from my 1 coin example (but not both).  Theres no decision timeline I need to worry about, right?

Yes the bitcoin will split again in November. So if you are holding one bitcoin you will get 1 b2x. It will be distributed to all bitcoin holders on the 1:1 basis. To cashout from btc2x you need a compatible wallet, there is no one at the moment. Also the b2x has no replay protection, so don't send any bicoins or b2x on that day, because when you send btc you are also sending b2x, this is a little bit tricky. As a newbie you should just wait and see what other holders are doing.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: October 27, 2017, 09:54:55 PM
It wont overcome paypal because the bticoin can only handle 2/3 tx per second while the paypal can do 170+. I think that bitcoin will be store of value and the ethereum will be used like a paypal. Bitcoin needs a lot of upgrades but it is really hard to upgrade the bitcoin beacuse big companies are not accepting the changes. We are threatened by the miners every time, but we must fear not and stand and fight with those miners, to make btc great again..
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My strategy for the next hardfork SEGWIT2X on: October 27, 2017, 09:49:05 PM
My strategy for the next fork, that is supposed to take place around 20th nov.
If there are exchanges that support it and credit B2X for BTC in 1:1 ratio, then i will sell all my alts to buy just and only BItcoin. (nowdays i dont have a cent in BTC). This B2X seems by far very more worth than the BTG shit.. JUst right after the fork, dumping of BTC to buy the bleeding alts that will be around cryptomarket. I will keep the B2X at least for some days (as there is no replay protection, so better safe than sorry) and then decide if keep or dump also.
NOw the question is.. it is smart to sell my damaged altcoins still with lost (since i bought during the summer ATH) and start accumulating BTC? when should i do it? will the altcoins have another rise like yesterday? will BTC still drop more ?
take in mind that last time, people began accumulating BTC as long as 3 weeks before the hardfork... so no much time left for a decision.
what do you think?

That is not so good idea because the majority of the community thinks the same. Look at the bitcoin gold if you had just bought the bitcoin and sold a the top instead of waiting for btg drop, you would have made more money just by doing this. The 2x fork is very bad for the bitcoin community, they are trying to destroy and split it, but I don't think that they will succeed, as the bitcoin community after first fork is stronger than ever, everyone is running their own nodes right now
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sick of ICOS! 99% of them are not worth the investment! Share your opinion ;) on: October 27, 2017, 09:45:12 PM
Hi everybody,
I would like to talk with you about ICOS and how i realised that investing in them it's not a good move anymore.
Here's why : the 99% of ICOS once are over and coins/tokens are listed on exchanges they tend to lose their value reaching the most of the times a lower price than the original ICO price, resulting this way a very bad investment for the ones who actually joined the ICO.
I came to the conclusion that the best thing to do is not to invest in Icos and wait for the coins/tokens to be listed on exchanges and buy them on the very first hours that they are released on the market.
What do you guys think about that? Do u still think that ICOs can be a good investment or you agree with me?
Let me know  Wink

Yes I agree we are in the ico recesion now, but there are still some gems that will moon. A lot of projects are very overvalued it is because the investors were throwing all the money on them. Let's look at the overvalued icos that are below ico right now... First one is enigma, this is the worst ico ever 45mln raised. -40% below ICO. they have raised the cap just 2 weeks before ico due to a high demand (money grab!) I don't know why people invested in this project... I passed on them
231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC Enforcement Director: ICO Fraud Requires 'Thoughtful Approach' on: October 27, 2017, 09:41:21 PM
The SEC's new cyber unit appears to be stepping up its rhetoric on ICOs.

Speaking at the Securities Enforcement Forum on Thursday, SEC Division of Enforcement co-director Stephanie Avakian took the opportunity to give a broad overview of the unit's mission, once again emphasizing that token sales, the process by which startups use custom cryptocurrencies for fundraising, would be a focus.

The cyber unit, first announced late last month, has said it will target "misconduct perpetrated using the dark web," particularly where cryptocurrencies like bitcoin are used.

As such, Avakian said that the cyber unit was created to consolidate the regulatory body's expertise on cybercrime, and include a focus on blockchain technology, particularly initial coin offerings.

While blockchain technology can be used to raise funds legitimately, it can also be abused, she said, noting that "like many legitimate ways of raising capital, the popular appeal of virtual currency and blockchain technology can be an attractive vehicle for fraudulent conduct."

Referring to a previous SEC report which said digital tokens would be considered the way securities are under U.S. law, she ultimately said blockchain needs a "consistent, thoughtful approach."

She said:

"We think that creating a permanent structure for the consideration of these [ICOs] within the Cyber Unit will ensure continued focus on protecting both investors and market integrity in this space."

Again SEC is trying to mess with the crypto. I don't like it. It may be bad for crypto because some people still think that bitcoin is used by hackers and criminals. If they start to look at the icos and do some arrests, it will be bad for ICOs. Some of the icos are not scams. How to spot a ico that is not a scam?

-The team is doing interviews
-they are backed by some real companies
-they have a working protorype
-they have known advisors

If you find icos with those attributes you will never be scammed.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: My portfolio: What to Hold, what to let go?? on: October 27, 2017, 09:35:45 PM

Sell SYS. SC, SALT, GOLEM, ARL, ONIONS, OMG these are bad coins long term. OMG already mooned a lot, we may not see it rising in quite some time

HODL: VTC, VTC, LTC, IOTA these coins are very good! Why? Because they are not erc20 they have thier own blockchains which is very important. Coins with their own blockchain are the real coins, erc20 are not so good in my opinion.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The future of Ethereum (ETH) on: October 27, 2017, 09:32:19 PM
Ethereum have big future and for sure it will continue to increase more in the future. As of now the price of ethereum is 300 dollars and I think the possible price of ethereum is 500 dollars and up.  You can buy more ethereum now and for sure you will earn a lot of profit in the future. And to those people have ethereum please keep patience you need tp wait more months or years to earn more profit.
Yes I agree Ethereum has a lot of long-term potential. A lot of institutional money can be transferred to the etheruem. The ethereum alliance has a lot of companies in their database which is great, what is more they have an amazing mind behind the project. Vitalik buteryn is working hard in order to promote the project and make more partnerships after the plasma gets introduced we may see very strong uptrend and people will start buying eth again.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BLOCKCHAIN PREPARING TO DO EXIT SCAM? [ATTENTION!] on: October 27, 2017, 09:13:46 PM
Hello,

My priority transactions still pending after 24 hours I pay for priority transaction extra fee..

But still wait what is problem? I am concern about my money...

Why would you ever use blockchain website? Just download a lite wallet for pc or android, they are much safer and they are very easy to use and you control your keys, never trust 3rd party. You can use exodus or electrum for pc, for the android you can use my cellium. These wallet are my favorites and I have used them for quite some time with no issues what so ever. I heard stories that people had been robbed on the websites like blockchain.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: 5.4 ETH to spend: LINK or SOMN? on: October 26, 2017, 10:03:55 PM
what is the best to buy right now?
they are both low.
Don't buy link, they have very toxic and aggressive community that is destroying them right now. Sonm is a better deal because it has been on crypto market for some time and it is listed on bittrex which is relatively safe exchange. You should wait a bit and buy some alts just before fork as they will keep bleeding due to next fork. If you time your deals right you can make like 30% in 1 day. The timing is very crucial, just do it on the day of fork.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NEX - NEO based token for decentralized exchange :o on: October 25, 2017, 07:11:20 PM
This ICO I will be waiting for. Cheesy

https://neonewstoday.com/development/city-zion-announce-neon-meta-exchange-nex/

Canesin, founder of City of Zion, announced in the latest CoZ weekly development report a new project called Neon Meta Exchange (NEX).

Neon Meta Exchange (NEX), is a decentralized exchange project, founded by four CoZ Council members – Canesin (Founder of CoZ), Ethan (Neon wallet creator), Luciano (NeoScan creator) and Fabian (fabwa).

From the update –

“NEX platform is built on a completely new protocol developed within the NEO ecosytem, utilising the best features NEO platform has to offer. NEX will consist of a reference exchange application, which will make it easy for developers building exchanges and payment services, to integrate with the NEX protocol. This project will possess a high level of innovation, building upon research done by Erik, on superconductive exchange technology.

NEO Council will be investing in the token sale of the NEX utility token that will occur at the end of this year, or at the beginning of 2018. In order to execute this token sale, we will be developing a brand new token sale system, that will be open-sourced with a MIT license, and donated to CoZ. This token sale system will include frontend, backend, and smart contract implementations.”

City of Zion are also working on publishing joint research articles with Loopring on developing cross chain protocols, with the goal of allowing execution of ERC20 and NEP5 token trades, across LRC and NEX.

Very good news for NEO holders and also for those who participated in the last NEO ICO. I love the idea, City of Zion can definitely deliver their product I hope they will not make ICO out of this. This will be like etherdelta for neo tokens and ERC 20 on eth!! If they manage to do this it will be soo huge! I think I am going to hold my Red Pulse tokens for like a year or more, when this platform goes live everything will change and the centralized exchanges will lose so much!
237  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Fees - $59! Holy shit! on: October 25, 2017, 06:58:40 PM
Well that is still very cheap, if he has sent millions through the bitcoin network and size of his transaction was big and he wanted to send those bitcoins as soon as possible. For the holders, bitcoin fees are not the issue because if you don't need your funds to be confirmed very fast, you can just send transaction with low fee. I saw some guys who send transactions using 4 sat/byte and they have waited like 1 week or so in order to get confirmation.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: waves vs Neo on: October 25, 2017, 06:53:21 PM
Both neo and waves are both blockchain network.  How come neo become more successful  in terms of worth than waves without good wallet or much development  like waves.

well both are good but NEO is getting so much more attention. Because you can create smart contracts on it and also run ICOs. I don't think that waves is capable to do those things and that is why it is worse than NEO. Red pulse already did ICO and Neo and it went very well, there are some things that should be fixed but they are nothing compared to ethereum smart contracts which have been hacked multiple times. The poblem for Redpulse ico is that neo  dont have a decentralized exchange like etherdelta.
239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What upcoming ICO's are you most interested in? on: October 25, 2017, 06:49:15 PM
I am interested in Quantstamp and Spectre! Why?

First of all they are raising almost identical cap which is below $32 000 000. They have very good team and their advisors are very experienced. When I look at the team, I think that with the help of their advisors they can definitely deliver what they have promised in their whitepapers. What is more, they both have prototypes so it not just a whitepaper ico, they actually worked on their products really hard and they want now to expand their business!
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I buy bitcoin now? on: October 25, 2017, 06:42:18 PM
You should buy it somewhere in the future. If I were you I would buy after the 2x fork in November. The bitcoin may deep in price quite a bit, we may see it below $3000 or even lower. That is just my opinion, you should listen to yourself because I am not a financial advisor. But it makes sense to me that after 2x btc will drop just like after fork of bitcoin gold. Some people made more money by just selling their bitcoin at the top and buying back lower than on bitcoin gold.
