221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to create a ICO crowdfunding page for Multisig Wallet? on: July 21, 2017, 07:53:27 PM
By template, it sounds like you are looking for a solution on the market that you can buy and white-label for your project purposes.

I'm actually very glad that no one has created a "template" for this.  Having this increases the likelihood of scammers buying and customizing a template for a fake offering.  As a community, let's please not encourage this.

Bump... I'm really curious about this.  Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't invest in ICOs without working products. on: July 21, 2017, 03:16:28 AM
I agree with you here as well.  However, it isn't binary.

There are a lot of instances where it makes sense pending:
  • A prototype
  • Team and experience
  • Traction
  • Idea
  • Whitepaper
  • Terms

224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / ICO Wallet Storage on: July 20, 2017, 11:39:55 PM
Given the recent hacks with Parity (multi-sig wallet) and the impact to ICO's such as Dao.Casino, etc... I thought to start this topic.

To protect business and investor interests, shouldn't ICO's accept and store investor funds on a paper wallet?  In that way, it's the most secure.

Additionally, it's the least liquid wallet which is what we would want as an investor right?  It forces the startup to secure the funds and slowly leverage the funds necessary to build and grow the business (rather than quickly cash out the funds and potential impact cryptocurrency prices or scam us)?  Thoughts?

I complete agree with this.
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Wallet on: July 20, 2017, 10:33:50 PM
Hello,

I was wondering what was the best wallet out there/for you.
Points to consider:
1.Speed of transaction.
2.Security
3.Type of AltCoins it can process.

Thanks for your opinions!

1.  A hot wallet
2.  A paper wallet
3.  Copay

Overall for a combination of speed, security, and coin support... I would recommend a hardware wallet such as Trezor.  You can use it in combination with MyEtherWallet, etc.

227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Choice of Coin or Token Smart Platform for Your Product / Service on: July 20, 2017, 10:17:23 PM
If you are looking to create your own AltCoin and ICO, what smart contract platform are you using and why?  For example, Ethereum ERC20, Waves, Omni, etc.

I'd love to hear people's thoughts and opinions on this including why you think it's a better platform.

228  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 0.02 BTC Every 10 minutes (Youtube Giveaway) on: July 20, 2017, 08:56:40 PM
Even with monetizing ads, the creator will be distributing coins at a rate faster than they are making ad revenue.  Unless someone is being very generous and just handing out coins here... it seems suspect.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is the crypto bottom in? on: July 20, 2017, 08:03:18 PM
It really depends on the coin.  But overall as an industry, I don't quite think that the bottom is in.  With hacks and scams, we'll probably lose some steam in this rally that has occurred this year.   Additionally, we have no idea how the 8/1 possible fork may impact the industry.  I anticipate we'll experience one more major sell off which will be the "bottom".
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What should we do now? on: July 20, 2017, 06:13:55 PM
Do you think we should buy altcoins now when it is dropping or just wait until it recover back? Also which coin has the most potential nowadays?

Like all investments, it really depends on your goals and timeline.

Speculation and manipulation will continue to cause fluctuations in price including spikes and crashes; however, digital currency is part of the future and we are only on the cusp.  As adoption and education increases in this space, consolidation will occur and the most popular cryptocurrencies will hold the most value.  Cryptocurrency has a strong future.  Depending on your investment timeline, current prices can be an expensive or cheap price.  (For example, Bitcoin at $2,600)  Five months from now, no one knows.  Five years from now, $2,600 will be considered very cheap.

In the short term, I'd recommend holding off on investments until after 8/1 to see how the market reacts to the Bitcoin hard fork issue.

231  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcement New ICO - *Treasure Coin* on: July 20, 2017, 05:34:35 PM
Thanks Islapdonkey!  We need more people in this community like you to help discover and expose information about the people / history behind all of these ICO companies.  Collectively our community can help reduce the number of scams out there and protect our investments.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ICO Hosting / Consulting Companies on: July 20, 2017, 06:10:28 AM
What?!?!  100k and 5%?   Huh

A couple to few thousand sound much more reasonable depending on the services provided.
233  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcement New ICO - *Treasure Coin* on: July 20, 2017, 05:50:21 AM
Hello Grant Hero!

Thank you for your post and welcome.

Your points are sound and definitely understandable.

Not every ico can initially afford the top notch team like you want out of the gate and need the support of people who believe in other aspects of the project which of course include the idea itself.

We are one of those ico's. We will have a site and as the project matures we will be able to grow and expand until we are able to stand with any project in crypto.

You are a smart investor but sometimes great ideas can be overlooked when they would thrive given the opportunity.

We hope you will be a part of our family and help make Treasure Coin a powerhouse in the crypto space!

I'm sorry but a smart investor will take your responses as excuses.  Money isn't a requirement to build a great team.  It's required to grow and scale, but not to start.  Some of our greatest pioneers started in their garage with very little.

Additionally, investors will take caution that you are developing an idea, website, and are launching an ICO in a period of one month.  All of this occurring while there is extreme scrutiny in the industry due to scams and hacks.

Great ideas will always be overlooked.  But as they say, it's never about the idea.  It's about the execution.  And quite frankly, you need to prove that you can sweat and hustle (for much longer than a month) before you try to raise millions on the market.

Good luck.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Announcement New ICO - *Treasure Coin* on: July 20, 2017, 03:07:21 AM
Is this coin a token derivative from Ethereum or ...?

I don't see how you can get people excited about your idea without having critical information like this, a website, marketing collateral, etc.  While I wish you the best, this is the very problem with ICO's.  People are just ICO's off of a whim in a matter of weeks based on an idea.

We all need to be more diligent about our investing and ensure that the project has:
-  A great team
-  Traction
-  Idea

Those are my triggers I use before investing in anything.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FUCKTOKEN - Proof of Fuck Given [FUCK] - Reddit Tipbot Integration on: July 20, 2017, 02:45:55 AM
Lol, why does this exist? So I can show people how I much don't care?

I don't understand this either, Thumper.  However, these coins have proved me wrong such as the success of Dogecoin.  Nonetheless, I would never participate in an investment where the team is anonymous.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers steal $32 Million Worth of Ethereum From 3 Multisig Wallets on: July 20, 2017, 12:01:17 AM
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't holding your funds in paper wallets a sure way to protect yourself from hacks like this?
237  Economy / Gambling / Re: DAO.Casino to Launch Token Sale Today on: July 19, 2017, 11:41:27 PM
Has anyone seen the Dao Casino homepage today?  It appears that they have paused their token sale due to vulnerabilities in the Parity wallet.  Ouch...
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [Pre - ICO] REcoin - the first cryptocurrency backed by real estate on: July 19, 2017, 10:45:31 PM
Nice job here Crypto!  We need more people like you to help discover and expose the truth about the people / history behind all of these ICO companies.  Collectively our community can help reduce the number of scams out there and protect our investments.
239  Bitcoin / Project Development / [HIRING] Ethereum / Solidity Smart Contract Developer on: July 19, 2017, 10:37:54 PM
<Posting in this board as I didn't see a project development specific board in the Altcoin board. I apologize in advance.>

We are planning to develop and launch a new Ethereum based token and we need an experienced developer who can create advanced smart contracts for Ethereum using Solidity.

The right candidate needs to have extensive experience in Javascript and Solidity as well as having successfully launched smart contracts on EVM.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in this space; therefore, please provide information about your previous projects.  This would be for part-time paid contract development that could result in a future technical advisor role with tokens as compensation.

Ideal candidates will have:
• > 3 years professional experience as a software engineer
• Cryptography, Security, Bitcoin, MongoDB, Javascript
• Hands-on experience with implementing Digital Signature Algorithms
• Experience with smart contracts preferred
• Willingness to work on multiple crypto assets
• Apply blockchain security technologies (beyond the world of fin-tech and crypto-currency)
• Evaluate, analyze, and target weaknesses in cryptographic security systems and algorithms
• Design robust security systems to prevent vulnerabilities
• Previous smart contract architecture and development experience with other companies that have ICO'ed

Our team is comprised of ex-Microsoft professionals with over 10+ years of experience and are located in the United States.  Our advisors are also reputable individuals in their respective industries.  Our platform is near completion; however, the crypto space is one of the areas we lack experience and need assistance in.

We look forward to hearing from you!   Smiley

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: POLL: Factors for Investing in an ICO on: July 19, 2017, 09:48:16 PM
I only care about its idea, aka, its potential real-world applications.

But execution > idea.  Isn't traction more important?

Right, execution is definitely important. The problem is when you are investing ICOs, it is hard to evaluate the execution of the team since the project is still in the ICO stage.

But isn't that the point?  I think the industry mentality needs to change.  Instead of accepting and investing millions in ICO's with no product, we should ensure that we measure results and traction with an actual product and not just a whitepaper.

Even in 3 - 6 months, a team should be able to develop the concept, whitepaper, website, legal incorporation, and a proof of concept... which in turn enables you to evaluate execution and reduces your risk.
