221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Yiimp mining 2 different coins with the same algo on: August 31, 2019, 06:25:28 AM

There's a lot he doesn't know, like how to accept help when he asks for it.

It seems to be a common theme. The person trying to help ends up being
blamed and flamed.

It's pretty childish but it's fun to see if they ever figure out their own stupidity
or have to be spoon fed like a baby. We have the answer in this instance.

Any chance he'll come back and say I was right all along? Not likely.

Usually when heated argument gets suddenly silent, that is the moment when person understood his stupidity.
Take the absence of the response as a good sign, today someone learned something Smiley

Stupidity? There is no mc argument in cpuminer, no mc argument is programmed in the stratum. What else. I stop talking because arguing with these people is non sense. I need answers.
Apparently these people do not have an answer.

How to have 2 coins mining with different address and using the same algo, right now, it is impossible without modifying the stratum in yiimp AND the mining software if it doesn't support such an option.
Insulting me is not going to fix the problem.

I will report any insult thrown at me. If you give an answer, give an explanation, not a line that has no meaning.

A closed mind can't be helped.

Is that your answer? Are you here to confuse people or to help them. I am a C++ developer there is no mention of a mc= option in the stratum source code.
What should I do to open my mind?

Any help is welcome.

It's your own fault you're confused, your second post made no sense. In your first post
you said you're using c=. Don't. Use mc= instead. How difficult is that?

Do you know cpuminer?

Code:
./cpuminer: unsupported non-option argument -- 'mc=FRANC'

This option does not exist. Elaborate please, or give a link to that option with cpuminer...

I specify the coin with c= but it is always the same coin that is chosen.

c= is the payout coin, you want mc=

I am using cpu-multi (tpruvot) and there is nothing such as mc= option.

-a sha256 -o stratum+tcp://ncpool.net:3333 -u kxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p c=KYF

For FRANC I should use

-a sha256 -o stratum+tcp://ncpool.net:3333 -u fxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx -p c=FRANC

However cpuminer always get KYF shares.
To get it to mine FRANC I have to disable the KYF coin and then the mining goes to the right coin, however of course KYF is not mined anymore.
If I enable both in the Yiiimp backend, I only mine for KYF but with a FRANC address, I lose rewards.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Yiimp mining 2 different coins with the same algo on: August 29, 2019, 11:07:50 AM
I have a problem when mining with 2 coins using the same algo (sha256).

I specify the coin with c= but it is always the same coin that is chosen.

It seems that if you want to mine 2 different coins with the same algo, Yiimp is choosing the most profitable, or just the first in the list.

Should I duplicate the sha256 algo, rename it as if it is a different one to get the 2 coins having a separate accounting? Or am I missing something?

CSW has 3 options right now.

1. Prove he's SN by giving Kleiman 50% of all Bitcoin.

2. Still insist he's SN and go to jail for not giving the Bitcoin.

3. Admit he's not really SN and go to jail for perjury.

VNC is slow compared to Microsoft Remote Desktop.
I think that Microsoft purchased PCAnywhere and they are using image differentiation. For example if you have a flat background, you get something like 30 frames per seconds on a 4K session!

With VNC, it is not even thinkable to have such a large screen in remote.
Even with a small 1440x800  for example if you open 2 terminals you get less than 1 image per seconds...

I don't know what is the problem exactly but with my job I have about 20 remote servers, and I have several windows boxes in different locations... the speed is 1:1000 compared with Linux.

It seems that Linux no matter what tool you are using, is sending the whole desktop as a picture at each frame. So if you are moving the cursor only, it is as slow as if you refresh the whole screen.

Windows does not do that. If you are moving the cursor only, it refreshes only what has changed (the cursor and what was under the cursor before it moved).

Smiley  Huh Huh Huh
229  Other / Off-topic / Fast Remote Desktop with Ubuntu on: August 22, 2019, 09:21:05 AM
When working with Bitcoin I am using remote desktops to compile on Windows/Unix/MAC, I am using a GUI, because I like to compile and package locally, and I use Jetbrain's editors.

I have noticed, that Ubuntu is way faster when executing POW calculation for example.

But about remote desktop, windows is extremely fast compared with XRDP for example on Linux.

With Windows and remote desktop you can manage your remote server as if it was local, it is blazing fast.

With XRDP on Linux, it is so slow, it is not practical. You need to lower the number of color bits, and keep a small remote screen size.

Is there anyone here who came to a solution to have a fast remote desktop solution with Ubuntu?

This is a PR from a Marketing company that want to make the buzz using the name of Satoshi. I totally hate that. They paid $500 to spread their press release with a PR release service, and host a Wordpress at Namecheap. They have nothing to do with the real Satoshi Nakamoto.
Anyone can do this with a budget lower than $1000!
I hope one day Satoshi will popup and sue all these people who are illegally using his name!

Here is the real PR for your information. Do not eat their sh*it and believe that they have any connection to Satoshi.

232  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-08] Blockstream Reveals Massive Bitcoin Mining Facilities on: August 16, 2019, 07:09:10 PM
Blockstream is actually helping Bitcoin, they are developing interesting technologies that are solving problems with the Bitcoin blockchain and will help its customer's range of use. They are also giving a salaries to most of the Bitcoin developers.
Microsoft and Apple are financing Linux, who is complaining?

But how open source, is open source if you are say mining 10% of the network of BTC like I believe Blockstream 'aspires' to do?

So the question becomes with code/source/programing etc, what determines the direction of updates?

Miners? (Which you are now a big player) or Open Source Adoption?

Would be sooooo tempting to 'tweak' the code in some manner, in that I did not have to replace my 'aging' miners someday, don't ya think?

Bitcoin: Power Corrupts! Maybe? (tm: Blockstream)

This is an interesting debate. I am working full time on blockchain projects as a programmer, and I have studied the code of many projects. Bitcoin Core is by far the most maintained.
It is true that they have gradually removed solo mining, and now you need to use a stratum based pool to mine.
They seems to be trying to shield the way to mining from the beginners and make it difficult to mine for anyone but big miners and professionals.
They seems to try to control the mining , which is a good way to avoid 51% attacks for example.

Lightning Network is an amazing work, that answers to the micro transaction speed, the block size and more at the same time. It is the digital cash in some way.
It is hard to pretend that Lightning Network has a hidden goal to destroy Bitcoin by whatever mean.

From my perspective (a developer one) Blockstream is the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin for a long time. I like every release the Bitcoin core make, and every passing years is leaving DASH, ZCASH, and all the blockchain based on pre version 0.17 from facing some sort of obsolescence.

In the geopolitical environment that we have, with countries fighting over currencies, and crypto being outlaw in many major countries, it is good to have Bitcoin backed by people with visibility and influence.
I am not naive, I know that the Bielderberg group (FED via Axxa) is investing in everything at the same time, as they are doing for the elections, so that whoever win, they are wining too.

Time will tell

As it says in the article, several factors have kept this news under the radars, like the fact it happens in China, and crypto exchanges are illegal there.
But this article is from Today, it won't take long before it spreads and we will know more soon.
