I read Mircea's blog post but I don't see any argument on why he is against the fork other than that it is a fork of Bitcoin and he doesn't like it. And that he hates Gavin.
I don't get it. Someone please explain the downside of the proposed fork. I guess one argument could be that Bitcoin is too big to fork?
Hating Gavin is enough reason to oppose his proposed hard fork; if you don't trust the chef, don't eat his food. The reasons for opposing this specific justification for a hard fork have been covered. Point taken, thanks for giving us some more detail on the arguments against the fork.

So I'm the process of transferring my money to a new wallet. I have managed to transfer the most of it but now 0.120263669446 is left.
Now simplewallet refuses to transfer them to my new wallet. If I try to send the whole amount the transaction fee is about 0.21 so I can't send the total amount. And if I try to send 0.01 the transaction fee is 0.17.
Does this mean the money is stuck in this wallet? Isn't there any way to set the tx fee manually?

Do you think the "hacker" will sell the coins in a hurry now when the price crashing?

I think the easiest way is to get the deterministic seed words using the 'seed' command inside simplewallet. And recreate it on linux like so: "simplewallet --restore-deterministic-wallet *words*".
If your wallet is old and doesn't support the deterministic seed, you should just create a new one on linux and move your money there.
Error: The wallet is non-deterministic. Cannot display seed. Guess my wallet is too old. And if I move the money manually, isn't that gonna cost me a lot in transfer fees?

Would be nice if there was a hint of activity from Drillbit. Nothing in months off of Barntech's account, no response to messages and e-mails (contact form runs into the same db issue that the forum and online store do). I don't suppose anybody's tried the phone #
Tried the phone and left a message. He is probably still on holidays somewhere... The holiday season here lasts till somewhere in Feb. Cheers Cool, at least their phone still works I personally think he has moved on to other projects. That last run wasn't very profitable I guess. He almost had to giveaway that last batch of the Avalon miners. Not good for business I take it.

Is this the same truck Matthew McConaughey drives in Interstellar?

Yeah we use slang for everything here, especially rhyming slang, would anybody know what i'm talking about if i say "I need some dead horse for me dogs eye"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VA9p8rgsoMAs they say in the Geico commercials, everybody knows that. "...Dressed up like a Sheila." Guess it's been awhile since I last watched Crocodile Dundee.

Ahh, I see. I thought he was talking about the name. Which is in fact of Irish orgin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SheilaI didn't know Aussies used it as some kind of slang for misses. You learn something new everyday!

Depends on what kind of wood, and if they are charging you by the pound for your luggage. There are some woods that would be very profitable for you to bring back if you got them at a reasonable enough price. Others it would take a truck load to be worth while.
You can always message me when you are there and let me know what you found and i can tell you if its worth it. I assume you live in the USA and you would be bringing it back here not shipping it from somewhere to the USA correct? Shipping a single piece of wood from anywhere outside the USA to me is seldom worth while.
I'm in Europe, I'm afraid. I suppose it would make more sense to ship the wood from the country of origin directly to you. That way I could send more than one piece also.

Do you think it would be viable to bring wood home from vacation overseas? I'm not good with imperial units but if I have converted it correctly, the length of the logs should be around 60cm, correct? 60cm fits in a suitcase. But I suspect you are looking for larger quantities right? Not just one log.
Been traveling to Asia and Africa but never thought wood had any value.

So live betting only available during commercials and breaks like Pinnacle?

Yes, lesson learned. Time to move on...

Are you guys solo mining?

You learn from every mistake you make. I won't go as far as eve and say all GB's are bad. But stay away from people who can't show you the product in hand!

Waldo, be honest now. Is their any chance we will get anything back?
If there is nothing left how are we ever gonna get anything back?

Interesting I've been looking around for a sportsbetting site to use. How does this compare to the others?
Very similar to DirectBet only better odds and no live odds (yet).

Is this legal?
Depends on jurisdiction. But I think it's legal to scan books but not sharing the scans in most countries. It's like CD's and DVD's, private copying is allowed for backup purposes. But I don't give a shit about copyrights, like the OP says it's about sharing culture. When in digital form it's easier to share and archive the books.
