No it would not happen that Ripple will become the new global currency for the world. It is just an altcoin and cannot even surpass the bitcoin.

Ripple now is fast moving upward as we see the coin marketcap. If you really want to invest in it then buy it now at any exchanges for you to get a great profit, i don't think if it will go down today.

Of course yeas altcoins will still survive. Just look at the Coin Market Capitalizations, the RIPPLE is now heading to the moon and even surpass the ethereum.

Ripple Altcoin is now in the great performance today. It was in the second rank of the coin market capitalizations today. Very surprising that it beat the ethereum in terms of marketcap.
