Looks like Iridiumdev abandoned project. Who is working on everything now and can i get an update on what you guys are working on?
It's me, but I'm not working on everything. You can stay tuned by joining us on Discord : https://discord.gg/xU85tpS

What should I do when hardfork started?
Nothing, you can update now. After HF, the 2.1.2 wallet will stop working, just upgrade to the 2.1.3 version.
|
|
|
The wallet 2.1.3 can not be installed on top of the old wallet. If this is done, the wallet will not finish synchronizing and will not show a balance, and the synchronization will be 1 block ahead. Only by completely deleting all the data of the old wallet you will succeed, you only need to insert the key.
It depends, It can be installed on the top of the 2.1.2 version. From the old version (the ugly one), just update. In any case, backup your wallet(s) : https://www.ird.cash/how-to-back-up-your-iridium-wallet/
|
|
|
I made git checkout to v2.1.3, built it, but it shows version v2.1.2 on the top
For the wallet ? you have to update the submodule too : git submodule foreach git pull origin master, I update build instructions on GitHub...

####################################################################### Hard Fork is coming...Here is the list of known pools that switch to the 2.1.3 core daemon and therefore are ready for the hard fork scheduled on Friday at block 69500 https://irdpool.frhttps://irdpool.dehttp://ird.cashpool.ushttp://irdpool.tkhttp://irdpool.ruI'm not aware of other pool yet but feel free to announce yours there seed nodes are ready too. #######################################################################

http://irdpool.tk is upgraded (again) to the new HF node. I had to removed a very old workaround I did due to a bug in the original node. Sorry for the inconvenience. You did ? really ? you found the solution months ago ? I can't believe this, otherwise you would have fix your pool instantly. For information, it was not a bug of the original node but a Bytecoin 2.1.1 code bug. And like everybody knows, Iridium start by a Bytecoin fork. I updated the core to Bytecoin 2.1.2 a week before the last hard fork attempt and start to really personalise the coin. This bug has been fixed by this update, so you run your pool with the old code since 2 months ?

|
|
I'm investigating, if I can't find a solution I may revert to the old version. Reverting now. Update: node reverted, unlocking blocks again, sent developer relevant logs.
I'm not the pool software dev and can't support that. Ask him (them) directly. I assume you that others pools are running perfectly with the new core.

I am already mining on irdpool.fr,and i have installed the last wallet. So,I won't need to make other changes later, right?
No, it should be ok

Hi Steve, How do you plan on getting funding? For instance for the hosting of website, paying of exchanges, and other petty petty stuff that contribute to making a crypto and its community successful
For now, we use personal servers/vps of the community. for exchange, I don't handle this part.

For pool and node owners : testnet is setup to simulate a hard fork at block 5 for devs tests, I encourage every pool owner to do tests on a testnet : - launch a core in testnet mode with a test data dir - launch a simplewallet in testnet mode - try you pool code I also update the seeds node to latests available, I will release the user gui wallet tonight. #####################################################################

################################################## Pool migration https://ird.uvac.fr is closed now, you can't mine anymore. your balance will be sent until it reach 1 IRD Migration place is here : https://irdpool.frIt's the same pool, just another server and domain name. ##################################################

######################################################## Afer the long wait, the goal is reached : The main purpose of the next Hard fork is here :
Why this algorithm : - No delay of reaction. - It is weighted by the latests found blocks in decending order (most recent weight more than the previous, etc...) - I choose a window size of 60 blocs, so this algorithm has to take care that a bloc is found every 175 seconds (this is the iridium specification) on a moving window of 60 blocks. Briefly, if an attack occurs, the difficulty will go up just after the found bloc aiming always this 175s target. After this, the difficulty will go down at the same speeding the same goal. Tests are done and are very promising. So what now ? During this week-end, I will schedule the Hard-Fork and release the new wallet and core versions ready for it. This mean, for users a new wallet to download and for pools and nodes owners, a new core daemon to install. I'm aiming the next Friday for this hard fork so it leave 5/6 days for others to do tests. Pool owners, be aware. I recommend you to testnet the hard fork to see if the new blocks template and protocol is ok with your pool version. I will leave the testnet settings tuned to the new block version, so you will just have to launch the core in testnet mode, fire a testnet wallet and setup a test pool. If you don't test it, maybe your pool will crash at the HF point. (that's what happen last time but luckily, this force me to implement this new one also - Thank to manona to show me the way ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) ) And what next ? focusing going on exchange : I think this implementation is a huge card to play... What ? exchange ? No ? Yes ? Now ? Later ? Lol. One last thing : this hard fork will also allow larger transactions and should free theses stucked in mempool since months... Nice! how much larger can the transactions be after the HF? I setup a max average block size of 60ko, I dont know what that mean in tx term but now, it's running at 20ko max

What about an informations bulletin by the dev about the future of the coin ?
What ? a TV news show ? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) no, not yet, I'm aiming the hard fork, I have spare time this week and start to get very good results with the latest LWMA (WHM) difficulty algorithm implementation on my testnet. (at least I know someone that will be happy ! - I take my time but here it is ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) ). so here is my future : very soon (I will try to HF before end of January) : Hard fork : - A freaking new, modern, bullet proof, waterproof, whatyouwantproof, rock diff algorithm (hope ending this week. in progress and tests) - bigger transactions allowed ( transactions stucked in mempool will finally be accepted ! ) (done but not yet tested) wallet : - ready for hard fork (done) - some cosmetics and spelling (done) just after : - finding exchanges (someone already study cases, an abstract will be posted the we can choose what to do). I hope the new diff algorithm is a big trump in our hands. in future : continuing improving the coin, gui wallet (some features are asked), network, pools, website, whatever ...

1k bucks is it a big price to put a coin on a stocks.exchange? The developer must be the leader, and not constantly throw on others all. Organizing a fee to add to the stock exchange. Ask all the exchanges what new coins are added. The stock exchange is a lot. Even on the coinsmarket you can add: https://coinsmarkets.com/support.phpThese things the developer must deal with. And the feeling is like a school coin, what further topics on the forum will not work. In the crypt, billions of dollars are spinning, what is it difficult to bring to the exchange so? Why are coins with practically 0 potential quietly traded on the stock exchange, and here for so long they have been rejecting the exchange all the time. Instead of this coin, it was necessary to mine ETN and other cryptonight coin. All November is just a waste of time. This coin is a community coin. It does not belong to the Dev. He has no premine at all and it was no ICO. If you think he hasnt done enough then i think you are wrong. If you think he can do more then you are right. the solution is not to critisize the Dev. Giving his time, knowledge, and expertise alone is sufficient donation to the community and to the project. If you think getting on an exchange is so easy, then I suggest you write a simple message to an exchange to request for listing of IRD? Nevertheless, i think the Dev must do more. He has done a lot. but if it must be done it must be done well Tests are over now. I will try to schedule the hard fork before the end of January. For dealing on exchanges, I do not have the knowledge and the envy : I do not like haggling. I can code all the api if needed, make tests, everything do make ut work but not dealing. That's why I'm not alone on this project. Furthermore I can't handle everything ! I have a real life too ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Maybe not everybody has a real life .. lol .. for the new hard fork do we need to update once again our wallets, or the 2.1.2 is just ready to fork? An update will be required.
