221  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Remove Checkpoints - they ruins whole peer-to-peer conception on: December 16, 2013, 01:45:36 PM
You can use different Bitcoin client, so far Bitcoin-qt is fair and dont misuse the checkpoints

Nvidia cards are not worth for any coin mining.

If possible, get amd based card and then look for some coins.

Pool mine and don't mine solo.

I figured that out, that's why I'm searching for a CPU-only coin. Or is this a newbie-answer from my side?

You need to catch the coin when it starts, even GT650m could be enought to solo mine something in 1st day. Then wait for the pump of price and sell when the price is still rising because dump can come anytime

How long does it take to synchronize with the network ? It said I left 112 weeks behind  Huh

Its only 2GB, typically 2 hours, at least for me

225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is there a sell off again ? on: December 11, 2013, 05:36:55 PM
I really hope that JP is not successful in their stunt.
Normal practices is that "designs" that is already implemented cannot be pattent - but you never know with such a big player as JP, they have a army of lawyers and political influence.
Bitcoin will without doubt survive no matter the outcome, the question is if it can go mainstream with a pattent like that pending.

Edit: I do not know any details about JP patent, however I have just heard that the pattent might have been formulated before the time of BTC. Anyway, it could be good news for the cryptocurrency if JP wants a piece of the cake, time will tell.

Oh these shitty pattents again, JP could buy some Bitcoins instead.
226  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do Bitcoin-users play any sports? What's your favourite and why? on: December 11, 2013, 05:30:12 PM
I swim in the sea. Ideal temperature: 15°C.

I like swimming as well, but 15°C is too little.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Borrowed $1,000,000 (1 million dollars) from my dad to invest in BTC (serious) on: December 07, 2013, 03:11:15 PM
So troll, do you still want to spend a million of daddy's money on Bitcoin? Wait till this time tomorrow and you may only need $100k to buy the same amount as when you started this thread.

I kind of do actually, but i wanna see if it gets around 500/600 before the end of the year... that would be a good time to get in. I'm pretty sure it'll hit a new milestone in 2014

I have to agree, 500/600  is good price. The only problem is the demand is high and when price falls quickly I feel unconfortable buying.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: Crap...I was hoping Bitcoin would go down to the double digits on: December 07, 2013, 03:04:20 PM
It would have been an excellent buying opportunity

It is still good buying opportunity, I already bought right under 700 and Im happy
229  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: when will btc stabilize? on: December 07, 2013, 03:02:08 PM
It is like asking when EUR/USD stabilize. For USD/Bitcoin there are just bigger swings because much less trade volume
230  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SELL now or cry later on: December 07, 2013, 02:51:16 PM

231  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Great Crash on: December 02, 2013, 11:30:51 PM
As i said in a previous post, when the OP said that bitcoin will go up, i sold and i 'm already at +10% !!
The guy is always wrong!!!! It's almost like he is always right but in reverse. He is a pure genius!

Gordonium man! what's going to happen from now on?

Your right I noticed this corelation as well  Wink
I still wonder if Gordonium is some big whale or just spreading FUD...
232  Other / Off-topic / Re: Price of BitCoins at the end of the year on: December 02, 2013, 11:24:35 PM
$126

 Cheesy

It is better to wait to the end because you never know, but it seems over $1000. Unthinkable amount at the start time of this thread  Wink
233  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Looking to invest 5btc on: December 02, 2013, 11:16:08 PM
Any advice?

Do not invest or you are very likely to end up with nothing. But if you do, make carefull research whether the business you invest to is legitimae company with some assets in case of default.
234  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: too many choices, none of them easy on: November 25, 2013, 09:45:41 PM
So what site would be the trust worthiest when it comes to selling bitcoins? Would I be ok on localbitcoin?

Yes, but at exchange you can get better price.
235  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: GoldenTowns.com - Get Paid to Play - Signup/play Bonus - UP TO 1.12 FREE BTC on: November 25, 2013, 09:40:28 PM
I dont want to spread FUD, but OP promising 1.12 BTC over time, maybe 0.5-1 year, it is 1.000 USD per person. Maybe about 30 joined so far, it is promise of about 30.000 USD for all. Hard to believe it is possible for OP to pay this.

Better would be put the BTC to escrow and escrow would release the BTC to participants for like 5% fee.

237  Economy / Speculation / Re: New paradigm - the bubble that never pop? on: November 22, 2013, 12:37:11 AM
The fact is that Bitcoin solves a multi trillion dollar need for a way to transfer funds.  It isn't there yet though.  Right now it's providing maybe a few tens of millions in value and the rest of the price is due to hoarding.

It is true current exchanges have very few millions available in buy orders, Bitcoin will be less volatile and more useable when it is traded at wall street
238  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Auction of my account! on: November 22, 2013, 12:22:33 AM
It's an opportunity.
