221  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: March 10, 2018, 03:03:14 AM
seriously?
paypal fee when you receive money are 2.9%

1188 x 2.9% =34.54 they charge 102 (calculus for one, for 2 they charge 162, for 3 they want 208 and so on)

if they want those 65 difference , just put them in the price, on main page; ohhh, I know, would not look the same

fee or not fee the shipping problem remain: you pay 200 to have them shipped with first batch (7 days as displayed) and 3 weeks after there is no package in DHL only a label created;
looking at the 10$/ day lost in 3 weeks, another 210 on the drain;

why pay the priority shipping then? if they absolutely dont care? let the people know what they are dealing with, and order the lower priority with the minimal price;
they might get lucky and get couple days advance

Always pays to do your own research (DYOR)

https://pangolinminer.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/115004811794-Can-I-pay-with-Paypal-

https://www.paypal.com/hk/webapps/mpp/paypal-seller-fees

As far as late shipping, have you contacted the seller? DHL? What have the responses been?
222  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Pangolinminer & Whatsminer FAQs on: March 10, 2018, 02:05:37 AM
team pangolinminer is not worth it; dont order the the first shipment available you'll never receive;
order the last batch and if you're lucky, doubt it, you'll have the miner;
and dont forget the shipping fee and paypal fee; which other dont have it;

really paypal fee? 100+ USD?
so the real price it not what you put in the cart

Blatantly false, and the other's don't have a PayPal fee BECAUSE THEY DON'T ACCEPT PAYPAL.

So go away troll...
223  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 power draw on: March 10, 2018, 12:46:43 AM
Hey Phil,

after banging my head all night trying to find a switched pdu I came across this one:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/263395755382

would you say it's worth it???
3x more than the HP but it is rated at 32A

so 32x230 = 7360W

so 5 ants? safely?
and it's switched.

I looked it up on the manufacturer's website. this is a 2016 model and the msrp was $2300??? that sounds a bit crazy.
The plug is a commando 32 (w/e the f that means). I'm sure I can make it work as long as it is a US standard.

Let me know what you think.

Other than the weird plug it looks nice. But, you'll need an outlet to match that plug. So talk to an electrician or do some research. Also notice that PDU is split in to 2x 16A circuits. This is why PDUs are a pain in the butt, they are generally for data center use where you have lots of low amp draws. I had posted some low outlet count PDUs (this higher amp per outlet), you might search for those part#'s as well as some of the recommendations in that thread.
224  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remotely manage multiple Antminer S9 in different locations / networks on: March 06, 2018, 10:43:59 PM
How about a $35 RPi and some free software at each location?

http://www.pivpn.io/

Run your own VPN server at each location so you can connect remotely to each network.

I was hoping the network gear at the remote sites already had VPN capability, but if not that's an awesome (and cheap) idea.
225  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Remotely manage multiple Antminer S9 in different locations / networks on: March 06, 2018, 08:57:43 PM
Find out if each location support VPN connectivity. Then simply VPN in and manage each miner as if it was on the same network. No PCs needed...
226  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Mining Electricity Questions (AMP-Breaker) on: March 06, 2018, 08:55:52 PM
okay so question.  I am running several sets of 2 miner on 20 Amp Breakers.   12 gauge  wire.  No issues.

I am getting a few more miners soon, my breaker box is full.

So I see no issue my changing the 20 Amp Breakers to 30 Amp Breakers, and then putting 3 miners on each circuit, that is what I have read here.

If this is the case, can I keep 12 gauge wire (will three miners work ok hooked up to a 30 Amp breaker running on 12 gauge wire?)

Or do I need to go with 10 Gauge wire?   The distance from the outlet to the breaker box is less than 3 feet, very close..

Dumb question, I know 40 amp breakers are available, why not go with those, or best to keep the 30 amp?

Thank you!

(Moderator's note: This post was edited by frodocooper to remove an unnecessarily quoted post.)

You size the wire to the breaker regardless of the load.

20A breaker 12GA wire
30A breaker 10GA wire

You also will need to install the correct outlet for the amperage as well.

Because it's all very short and I ASSume out in the open doing this correctly should be relatively easy or cheap if you pay an electrician.
227  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s9 and slushpool hashrate drops off on: March 05, 2018, 12:35:55 AM
Try a different pool for a day

Also consider higher quality Ethernet cables.

A long cable run of cat 5 will drop out once in a while.

Also if you WiFi mine it could be dropouts.

I fixed an issue for one miner by sending a good cat 7 cable to replace his old cat 5
itīs a new cable but itīs very long and connected to 4G Wifi modem. I think itīs 20 metres long.
Do you think shorter cable or a router would fix it?

Will the connection still ultimately go through the 4G Wifi modem?

If so then you are going to have to accept that depending on signal strength you will not always the best connection. Bottom line, if that's the best Internet connection you have then let it run and don't sweat the alerts from the pool. I'd also look at the Daily hashrate that Slush shows. That's a better average to gauge what's going on.
228  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Best wiring management hacks or advice ? on: March 04, 2018, 07:35:06 PM
Posted a pic on facebook of some miners and the a dude commented that it was a fire waiting to happen.

Does anyone have some good advice or hacks to manage all the wiring ? LAN cables are especially messy.

Post that pic here
229  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer s9 and slushpool hashrate drops off on: March 04, 2018, 07:34:14 PM
All started ok with slushpool and Antminer S9 but after getting monitoring e-mails I can see there are issues of keeping continuous mining
all around the clock impossible.
Miner status seems to be ok but I have to reboot miner again daily to get it up and running. Is this software error?
Is there some kind of built-in malware affecting my miner?

I get quite frequent alerts from Slushpool that my hashrate is low. **But** do not simply go off their alerting, it's pretty common. When you get the alert go to your miner's status page and check current hashrate and average, most of the time you'll find your miner is fine and it's just an issue on the pool end. I also use AwesomeMiner and use the performance history, that way I know for sure how the temp and hashrate of the miner is doing over time.

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer L3+ fans not being run properly... on: March 01, 2018, 06:44:34 PM
I guess I just don't understand why the unit would not just increase the fan speeds. The temp sensors are working, so it knows what the temps are. The fans can be speeded up more - as I have successfully tested that they can actually run faster. Is there some setting in some config file that should be checked/changed? Or, is this indicative of some kind of power issue? Other? If I manually speed the fans up to near the same speed as the other unit, the temps fall closely in line. It seems like a setting issue to me. But I don't know the internals of where to look, what to check for, etc...

Because, as mentioned, those temps are relatively low. Whatever software you're using has it's levels out of line for an Antminer.

They so badly promisong i ordered in 28 septamber for feb  and they didnt send me tracking id yet.they should send me before march but no M3 delivered yet.is there any body delivered his m3 for feb batch?

Had 2 delivered as well no problems and they actually shipped on the 1st day of their expected ship date range.
232  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ducting on: March 01, 2018, 04:52:56 PM
Ok great thanks.

He's using ABS now, here's a few pics of the new material. I had also asked him to reduce the OD slightly to make it easier to fit ducting over it, previously it was a little too tight. He said he thinks your's should go out this weekend. He is a stickler on quality so they take like 9 hours to print! High volume is not his goal Smiley

233  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ducting on: February 28, 2018, 02:51:31 AM
Ok I ordered 4.

I texted him to make sure they are ABS Smiley
234  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Ducting on: February 28, 2018, 02:33:06 AM
Raymond: Is your buddy still printing those 6” shrouds? I could use a couple.

Yes sir he is, although I have asked him to start using ABS as my M3s deformed the other material. If you do order let me know and I'll double check he uses ABS.

236  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Big difference in S9 temps - same room on: February 28, 2018, 02:19:16 AM

2 - the cool one when I was moving it around sounded like there was lose cards in it - like if you jiggle it it sounded loose. The hot one doesn’t make any sound.

The hash boards are only in slots in the aluminum case, so if you jiggle the miner you SHOULD hear the cards move a bit. Sounds like something is in there or some heatsinks fell off and are wedged in between boards. My S7 sucked in a giant moth which made it run quite hot. I kick myself for not taking picks, but he was BBQ'd on one of the heatsinks.

Now fully disassembling the unit will void the warranty, but I believe Bitmain has advice on how to check the heatsinks.
237  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Big difference in S9 temps - same room on: February 26, 2018, 07:55:54 PM
Also they might be in the same room, but is one picking up the hot air from the other or is it not getting any fresh incoming air?

I had a PSU slightly pulled forward maybe 1"-2" on one of my miner's fan. Sliding it back changed the miner temp by 2 deg C. They need clear unobstructed intake areas.
238  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Anyone experience using car radiator fans for mining area. on: February 26, 2018, 07:52:20 PM
Remember if you to use radiator fans, they need to be in their shrouds to pull air properly or they will be terribly inefficient

This, plus they pull a ton of amps. I've got two big SPAL fans on my hot rod and they require 100A relays!

Do you not have AC power available?
239  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Feedback on small venting strategy? on: February 26, 2018, 07:50:02 PM
I have been working the same issue for a couple of days.
I have 2 new T9's . I would like to move the heat from one of them into the house for now, and cut the noise.

What works -
Don't do anything. Mining room gets to 100f. Not really a problem. Rigs run 90-96c. Living space too cold with door closed but noise tolerable. Leave the door open house heats up, but noise!

What doesn't -
I started with the 4" adapters on the exhaust. I ran 4" flex house from each to a T then down 4" flex to a register. Fail. Temps too high and they shut down.
Took one out of the equation. Works but temps over 100c.
Set the other with 4" intake from outside. Works but again around 100.

Currently running 4" exhaust to 6" flex. Temps 84 to 94c. Progress. Off to Home Depot for 6" diameter register box! Hoping for not too much noise. Might need one of these
https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Inch-Inline-Muffler-Noise-Reducer-Silencer-for-Duct-Fan . result = Noise from register but tolerable. Heats room nicely.

I am going to have 6 miners (4 S9's on the way!) I am going to run 4 to 6 inch reducers/increasers to flex duct off of each, to a wall which is in an out of the way place. Unless I find a better answer.

Thanks

Stop using 4" anything, it's too small and causes a restriction resulting in hotter temps.

Check out https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2796117.0 keep in mind I'm not trying to shill the adapter my friend made, heck you can just slide the 6" duct over the miner fans if you want. But the main take away is for you to get rid of the 4" stuff and personally, I'd go not smaller than 6". I've got my lava spewing M3s venting out via 6" duct and so far so good.
240  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: AntMiner S9 Temp Issue on: February 24, 2018, 02:22:12 AM
OK, here's the drill Smiley

What PSU and voltage are you using?
Can you post the kernel log? Be sure to use the code tag to help with formatting
You haven't flashed the firmware yet right?
