221  Other / Meta / Re: Don't you think that merit system is like avoiding new comer in Bitcointalk? on: February 03, 2018, 12:17:21 AM
I am very worry about new merit system. This is like killer rules for newbies like us. As i know that if somebody gives merit rating only then our rank will grow. Without getting merit from someone we can't rank up from jr member. So, who will give us those merit rating? Is this rules for avoiding new comers in bitcointalk? I am truly feeling too bad.  Cry Cry

In answer to your question and looking at your own post, looks like it does not stop newcomers  Tongue

There is no reason to feel bad, you can become junior without merit, and it only takes 5 to 10 decent posts to rank member, which anyway would take a couple of month to achieve I think. Frankly, if you have not made 5 or 10 decent posts in a month you should feel bad about it.

I think that merit now is a bit "expensive" but in the future it may be granted for posts that are just a bit useful and targeted to the issue.
222  Economy / Economics / Re: Don't worry, the market will not fall forever. on: February 03, 2018, 12:12:23 AM
The fall and collapse of the crypto-currency exchange rates do not scare investors in comparison with December 2017, but rather vice versa - new crypto funds are launched in the US and Europe. Offering the Swedish exchange Nasdaq Nordic exchange-traded note for bitcoin and ETH, Coinshares Group is launching two new funds: "Active" and "Large Cap" . The first offers a fairly aggressive strategy for investing in promising cryptocurrencies, the latter uses a more passive strategy and a wider basket of digital assets.
If you are in a position - hold.
If you have the finest money - buy in parts.
Everything goes to the fact that in May we are expected again the rally
What's happening now is reversed than the event during 2017. The panic selling of the people for the last year has full of regrets resulting for a holding of coins today. As I expected too, the month of May to June will be the rising up of coins and I hope that all of my coin will also rise up.

My experience tells me that if everyone is expecting the rally in May, the rally will occur in April. I am expecting the rally in April, so I will take my positions by the end of March. Unless everyone else does, in which case I will wait for the dip in June. Does it make sense?
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is everyone serious? on: February 02, 2018, 05:53:24 PM
A finite number of people invest a finite total sum of money($$$$) in Bitcoin with the idea that they can all become millionaires. Does anyone see a problem, given that none of them had been a millionaire and their collective money are a finite total sum?

Where would the money come from?

Anyone say pyramid?

Why do people feel they have the right to call Bitcoin a scam just because many people believe in it? Now, do you understand that many people bought shares of google with the expectation of earning money? Is google a scam?
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what Crypto community can do? on: February 02, 2018, 05:50:53 PM
Hacking and scam is part of the world, and also exists with fiat money as well. There's nothing to do except be careful of our money and follow simple rules of security we would follow with our money : don't trust anyone, let your coins on a wallet you own the private key, don't let more than necessary on exchanges...

There's no institution that could secure bitcoin more, Bitcoin is decentralised and its security is built inside his mechanism.

I donīt really think that is just like that. The problem is that this sector is too young, but we should not consider hacks as part of our everyday life frankly. If this happened on a bank, there would be many questions asked.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Amazing profits from ICO’s? ✅ on: February 02, 2018, 01:56:55 PM
The stats at ICOSTATS website are definitely correct but you have to keep in mind that the ICO's that give us 10x or 20x profits are very rare. More than 90% of the ICO tokens tank when they are launched at exchanges. I am very careful when investing in ICO.

Yes we should really careful about investing in ICO, even though looks legit but still  when it coins to money some are fast to disappear. Problem is, there is no regulating body about those ICO's or not having an escrow also. I think this services should be practiced again. An escrow from a reputable forumer here.

ICOs are both profitable and terribly non-profitable because it is very easy to fall into a scam even if everything looks correct. I recently read about the Symmetry fund exit scam, and that did look reasonably legit.
226  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 02, 2018, 01:54:14 PM
Is there a way to suggest merit worthy posts to the sources, that is, to post some links of posts that are good and may have been overlooked among the large number of daily posting here?
227  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: February 02, 2018, 01:51:19 PM
The merit system has not even started. At this moment there are many users that are exchanging merit with other that are friends or alts or are just creating fake users. But merit is limited, so even if it takes a while, that will come to an end because all those users that are spamming will not have new merit to give away.

As I understand the system, the only way in which it can become corrupted long term is if the sources of merit are farming or giving merit to posts that donīt deserve it, and even then the harm is limited.
228  Economy / Speculation / Re: 2018 end of the year BİTCOİN price on: February 02, 2018, 01:46:51 PM
Hi guys,

The first guess is me    65k-70k USD

This is the year of the ALTS, my forecast is that bitcoin will loose its predominance in the crypto jungle and will become much less relevant than ethereum, NEO and others. So forecast... 5000$
229  Economy / Economics / Re: In Russia, the law on cryptocurrencies and mining will be adopted before 1 July. on: February 02, 2018, 01:44:40 PM
Why do we need this law?

Comments of the Deputy Minister of Finance of Russia Alexei Moiseev:

The law was developed to protect the interests of all participants of the financial market in order to reduce the risks of working with crypto-currencies. (C)
- Are you seriously? Ha-ha-ha  Grin

Cryptomoney, in the majority, have a speculative character, therefore the risk of loss of assets is very large. If the exchange rate falls, neither the Central Bank, nor any other bodies will be able to help investors without legislation.
One of the latest examples of this phenomenon can be called a sharp drop in bitcoin, which occurred the other day. When the coin lost just one and a half thousand dollars (from 16 thousand fell to 14.5 thousand). (c)

- When I read, I laughed and cried. Is he from Russia? It seems the name is Russian. It's strange that he forgot how in 1998-1999 for 11 months the exchange rate of the national currency fell 4 times! And in 2014-2015 the exchange rate of the national currency fell 2 times!

Miners will be obliged to pay tax.

- What will I give them tax, bitcoins? Clowns Grin

For non-professionals, a limit is set for the amount to participate in ISO - about 870 dollars.
- How will they control me? Undecided

And the funniest thing is - maybe a national currency will appear in Russia.
- Who needs it! Who will use it! Shocked

Obviously the government is looking for several things: the first is taxes, but the most important is likely to control and information. They just donīt want anything related to finance escaping the central control
230  Economy / Economics / Re: Why people scam on: February 02, 2018, 01:41:56 PM
Getting a job is not possible for everyone, not everyone has family or [friends] to help them and sometimes they will make the bad situations even worse them. If you've ever really needed money and were very desperate, than you probably know that people would let you starve to death rather than give you $5.

It's weird how people won't toss out just a few dollars to help someone in need, yet they'll spend $10000 or more on their pet that has an average life span of under 5 years.

But then again, if you give the person in need money, they'll keep coming back for it. It's a real crap shoot
The reason why some people are scamming other people is because they are so greedy to earn bitcoin and of course money. We should not do scamming because it is immoral and it is a sin because it can considered as theft.

It is not that they are being greedy since some of those scammers are doing it for the sake of earning money for their family and the most simple answer why these people choose scamming other people is because it is more easier to scam a people than invest and wait for a digital currency to pump, and yeah, most of us fall for this schemes the reason more and more are doing it.

Even scamming for a "good cause" is still scamming. Many people do need financial aid and still have to do it the hard way. Those who scam have not any right even if desperate.
231  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin futures - anyone can give some data? on: February 02, 2018, 01:36:55 PM
I am asking for some information about the futures over bitcoin because I think they are having a great influence on the market. I do know what a future contract is, so no need for a theoretical explanation here. I would like to know:

- Which companies offer bitcoin futures
- What leverage and starting price.
- And, the most important, what are the clearance dates and how can I know the open positions.

Thanksssh
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain can be killed instantly! on: February 02, 2018, 01:29:52 PM
Blockchain though decentralized is still under the control of Domains, DNS/Servers, ISPs and its extremely dangerous.

What I mean is:

a) All exchanges(Dex & Fiat) and wallets need domains/DNS/Servers to exist. These are centralized infra which can be used by authorities to shutdown exchanges instantly.

b) 13 ISPs all over the world carry the traffic of all the blockchain nodes, again these ISPs can be asked by any authority to kill all blockchain traffic. Blockchain will come to screeching halt and will be stone dead immediately.

Decentralized web or blockchain can not live under centralized infra. It needs to be absolutely free to grow to its fullest potential for humanity.

Am I wrong? Are their solutions?

You are not describing how to kill cryptos, but how to kill any service out there that runs on the internet. "Any authority" does not exist. Most countries have laws and if one tries to stop cryptos or any service, be sure that some other will make profit from doing the opposite.

I am sure someone more knowledgeable about the internet would be able to give you much better technical reasons. If not... we will always have the Deep Onion coin Tongue
233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what Crypto community can do? on: February 02, 2018, 01:18:29 PM
Hackers - Scammers are destroying Crypto
and risking Hundreds of sincere developers and Investors

More hacking more scams news everyday -  Angry

I dont understand - a Crypto exchange with billions online not have capacity to hire good online security companies ?

There is theory out there stating that individuals that act rationally would take the alternative that is more beneficial for them. In the case of money, particularly when it is lots of money, it is easy to forget any moral barrier to this.

So, I am the owner of an exchange. I have 1 Million bitcoins from people on the exchange and my business is giving me around 1 million a year in fees after covering the expenses. If I hack my own exchange I will make 100 years profit instantly, and since it is not really regulated, the risk is minimal.

Here we go!
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for old people? on: February 02, 2018, 01:14:05 PM
I think it is impossible for the elderly to participate in bitcoin investment. They are pursuing stability. Bitcoin investment is volatile. It does not have stable income.

Bitcoin is not limited to investment, it can be used, for example, to gift your grandchildren and eventually, if it reaches a critical mass in adoption, can also be used as payment. The key is to offer simple and valuable tools that elders can use daily.
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: What is the best marketing medium for ICO campaign? on: February 01, 2018, 06:29:37 PM
You can use bitcointalk bounty programs and Facebook ads targeting specific keywords related to your project. FB has millions of users and it is very effective

I think Facebook is over-rated regarding Crypto campaigns. Also, they have recently banned the add related to crypto I believe. Anyway, is just silly to launch a campaign in Facebook as most people donīt have too many friends interested in cryptos.
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is status of btc? on: February 01, 2018, 06:26:12 PM
What is status of btc? In accordance with the situation of the world economic policies ?

World economic policies? If I understand your question correctly, you are asking for the legal status of Bitcoin across the world? Well, there is no such a thing, each country has its own regulations. Typically:
- China has banned exchanges, but not possession or peer to peer trading.
- South Corea has set strict rules for exchanges.
- The US is very strict with ICOS and they have charged against some clear scams. You canīt invest if you are not an accredited investor. Bitcoin is fine.
- Singapore is benevolent as is Switzerland.
- Some european countries donīt have taxes on the sales of bitcoin such as Germany or the Netherlands.

So...there is not really a global policy.
237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you picky with ICOs? on: February 01, 2018, 01:46:45 PM
yes of course i am so picky with ICO's because I've heard that there are many scam ICO nowadays so we should do research before we investing our money to the ICO because ICO's gives you x5 profit.

I am extremely picky with ICOs, do a careful research and even doing so sometimes I donīt even get what I invested. ICOs are high risk, particularly with this red market.
238  Other / Meta / Re: Merit system is not working, failed! on: February 01, 2018, 01:45:03 PM
The merit system is not working, look the merit points of people on the forum, it does not move (even for the more relevant posts), the forum established a system which was suppose to penalize newcomers flooding the forum with useless post, but the forum penalize itself, good luck everybody, If you think people will give you merit points for free you are mistaken.

It is not working for you, and if I am to judge you by this post and the section you have chosen to include it, I am not surprised. If you help the community you will get merit. Else...
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ways to promote Bitcoin on: February 01, 2018, 01:41:19 PM
if you have the benefits from bitcoin? you can promote bitcoin in many ways.

-By explaining bitcoin to others, spread the word about bitcoin and take note you must learn more about bitcoin to do this.
-If you have skills in blogging, design, video and photo editing, web design, etc. Create something different out of your skills to promote bitcoin.
-If you have business establishment try to experiment to accept bitcoin currency.

if you have any idea how to promote bitcoins just share here.

Probably the best way is to act locally and think globally, that is, promote your local bitcoin groups, organise chats, participate in the forum and share finding and material face to face to spread the real use.
240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin for old people? on: February 01, 2018, 01:38:37 PM
How to spread awareness of Bitcoin in a way so that old people start to use more bitcoin?

Building on the previous post, older people tend to value the learning curve. They will only try learn and use something new if it clearly gives them a value. They are not as concerned about earning money quick or investing, but in real use in their daily lives.
