Both are better in their own ways if only you have a capital to invest to buy/hold some bitcoins or buy some equipment to mine some bitcoin. Nowadays, if you mine bitcoin it wouldn't be just as profitable like before since the difficulty get larger and cost to electricity for some ASIC miner is huge to accommodate. I think those profitable of bitcoin are those who has farms of their own or those who has low cost of electricity regions. Better if you have small capital to buy right now since bitcoin is in dip then hold it on what objective you do want to sell it.

Bitcoin used to be defined as a store of value, HODL (buy and hold long term) investment.
With the introduction of futures markets, the rise of bitcoin cash and altcoin forks and platforms like coinbase engaging in insider trading by profiting off of their knowledge that they would introduce trading for fork coins beforehand... Bitcoin is slowly but surely becoming more an instrument of speculation than a store of long term value.
That fundamental shift is indicated by rising volatility and greater price swings.
Many trading exchanges are offering trades with no commissions. That also contributes towards higher volatility. The lack of a hard capital gains tax, which promotes HODL and cuts down on rampant speculation, also plays a role in volatility being higher than one might expect from say a stock market.

I have a friend who bought bitcoin during this peak season. When the bitcoin price was 18-20k USD. Now he is sad and disappointed seeing that the current price has dropped to 50% and more and he is afraid he is going to lose all. In short he lost his hope and faith in bitcoin already. Has anyone here did the same as he did? If you did invest in that amount what did you do to your bitcoin, did you sell it or still holding it?
My opinion is your friend can hold it and just waiting for better. because I think bitcoin rising in future again. |
