Thought I lost some wallets to a hard drive failure and couldnt get my core node to sync but managed to sweep the private keys into an electrum wallet. Lost some btc before by sending it to the wrong address... that really sucked  |

Hey guys, I want to apologize for our down time today, let me explain our course of events.
We had an attack on our website which caused our host to temporarily take down our site to prevent any damages until we could mitigate the problem. When first notified of the problem I was unavailable to immediately address the problem. Once I was back at my work desk, it took some time but I managed to mitigate the attack and I thought we were good to go so I started driving home (rush hour traffic).
Phoenix shortly after I had left then informed me that he still couldn't reach our site, however I could from work so I found this very strange. I had him ask a few other people to test it and we noticed some could reach it and some couldn't. I instantly realized it was a problem related to the DNS. This was unfavorable timing since I was stuck in traffic with just my phone. It was pretty difficult to remote into my computer at home to diagnose the problem so I was forced to temporarily pull over to the side of the road. Once I had done everything I could the last bit of it was left up to the technician of our host provider and waiting on DNS propagation (which took forever).
Finally, here we are now and everything is up and running as intentional. Please let us know if you experience any abnormalities using our website/services.

First of all: The term "DApp" is dead. Please use "Blockchain App" or just "App". And I don't see that Lisk has to switch from JS to another coding language. Why? If you know what you are doing, you are "safe" as every coder is (no matter what language you are using), if not, better don't write an app. If you don't trust in a app developer, don't give him/her your money. That's it. Just to make it clear: If an app in the Apple store fails, because an app developer did mistakes when coding it, it has NO effect on Apple. I think we can say nearly the same for Lisk. But I am not a core dev and not a app dev, so it's just my view. Proof me wrong. This is very true. The platform shouldn't be responsible, the user should. However, due to the inherent nature of people being stupid companies need to go out of their way to spoon feed and hold peoples hands or else people will get mad because they hate blaming themselves for fucking up |

I dont understand why mad what happen? did site go away with btc?? We will never run away with anyone's money so please don't worry. We're currently undergoing a DDOS attack. I have reached out Shogdite and he is on his way home from work to solve the problem. If he had not been on the way home and still at the office I'm sure this would have been resolved already. But its hard to stop a DDOS attack from an iPhone while sitting in traffic. Please stand by as we expect to be back online shortly. My observation about this is that the strong liberal and anarchist users have declined over the years and the new generation of Bitcoiners are more speculative in nature and out for some profit on the technology. We have moved from a community with idealistic views on changing the world to a better place for all, to a world where everyone just takes as much as they can from the technology to profit the most.
This is just a natural change during a phase where mainstream adoption are becoming a reality and a more diverse group of people are getting involved with the technology. ^sad^
