what does everyone here think about leather masks? Let me know if there is anything in particular in a mask you would look for.

stuff ranging from this:

to this:

or this for one of my more unusual masks,

you can see more various masks I have made in the past by using this link *yes I know, it's facebook*
I made the folder public to ensure anyone even people with out an account can view pics there Smiley

this is what I was talking about by the way in the previous post concerning a brace to stabilize the cases made with square tubing with out eating up any inside room or increasing the foot print of the cases

224  Economy / Goods / Re: [VIDEOnow]Goggles made of titanium *real metal CP grade 2 in 1920's wilson style on: March 01, 2014, 11:42:09 AM
I made a separate thread for the brackets I made for my custom mining rig there, since it seems most people selling them neglect to include anything for this, and their rigs look like they would be a bit wobbly especially once you start stacking 4 or more of them up against the wall lol. you can see it over here:

man I wish you did trades, though since I am guessing you are selling this off to help pay for your own hardware I know that is most likely out of the question Smiley otherwise I would offer to trade you some titanium goggles lol. (or some case parts for open air mining rigs but you live to far away to make that even remotely economical for you lol, I know cause I have sold a ton of my goggles and masks to the EU and UK and the post office really rakes you over the coals for shipping.

By the way I want to see pics of your set up once you get your half built and set up XD I am guessing it is going to be AWESOME!! Smiley
226  Economy / Computer hardware / 4 open air mining computer cases, worried about being wobbly, corner reinforceme on: March 01, 2014, 11:04:36 AM
*******(sorry to anyone who is confused by the title but I had to use 4 instead of FOR since the title is limited on how many characters, however if after reading this, you have a suggestion for a shorter title that explains what is in the thread I am all ears Smiley )***********

anyone out there have a shelf, or mining rig that they got that seems a bit unsteady because of lack of contact point?

all of the square tubing rigs I have seen as well as most of the angle aluminum rigs I have seen all seem to suffer from this, and though a single case should not be a problem, when you start stacking them up with the weight of all the hardware on the above cases gaining leverage over the bottom case, I am sure it will not take much to cause it all to topple over causing a lot of damage to your mining hardware investments!

This is something that can be sorted incredibly easy and I am offering packages of reinforcement units to solve this if you feel this is important to you. also note that the stacking rigs that firmly connect, this should be able to be deployed on the bottom rig and maybe one or two in the middle of your stack of 6 or more lol, stabilizing the whole stack substantially even if you have box fans hanging off the side pulling on them a bit. though mounting them on all frames will give maximum stability Smiley

for a guideline I have the ones shown on this corner that measure an inch between holes and enough room in the cut out area to allow for 1 inch angle comfortably, with the edge from the sides of the angle being identical on both sides Smiley
also any rolling on the edges to avoid sharp edges is experimental and can be done as plain flat fold over to avoid the roll from intruding into your case inside volume of area, ( I noticed this with my very first design where the powersupply is mounted in the corner to the angle) (the one pictured at the end of this post has holes that work for 4-40 screws but the size of the screw hole is customizable up to one quarter inch sized screws and bolts if you want. also thickness is about .020 on the pictured one, but thicker metal can be used, just expect it to drive up the cost of shipping for a lot of them in one pack a bit lol.

8 pack of these would be 15 dollars made from aluminum sheet, and $12.50 for steel sheet. this is enough to mount say on the top bars on both sides all the way around to allow for there to be one that is always being stretched and one that is being buckled on no matter what direction your case is being pushed on avoiding any movement and giving maximum security, and if you insist on 20 of them (total of one for every corner around sides top and bottom and one for each corner on the top of the case) I can do custom cut out holes for thing to poke through like USB ports and what not. just let me know. On tube frames you will have to either drill all the way through the case to get a screw all the way through and a nut on the back side of it if you can not do threading on the tubes and this is of course much easier on angle.

if you want something with custom hole placement and sizing and I am sure I can work something out for you. Smiley (I can also coat them with epoxy enable spray before shipping for a small extra charge if you want.

just let me know what you are seeking package wise and I can get you a quote on custom units, or custom quantities and see what we can do to cut down on shipping costs. I can even do double box bends so you can mount to the inside faces of those tube cases to avoid any thing even as thin as a screw head or the bracket from sticking out the sides of the case, again just let me know.

on shipping charges I can pack quite a few of these into a one pound cost box to ship them to you. so holding off and ordering all of them at once will save quite a bit since priority mail for a one pound or under box is only about 5.50 to most of the US states.

****edit 2 Smiley

for those not comfortable with any of the above, I will be making cases shortly that use 1/8th thick aluminum angle and will be possibly offering some with titanium angle too, and will be including these and all the custom brackets to mount hard drives and optical drives as well as two power supplies, 6 GPUs, larger case fans on back and side if desired as the mounts will have several contact points, for nearly all parts even the rails to set and clamp down the GPUs to change the height they sit over the motherboard, and motherboard for around 175 and future upgrades will be things like quick change contact points to stretch air filter covers over them so they still allow maximum air flow but catch most of the dust, cutting down on your maintenance of you systems, and you can just toss the filter into the washing machine to clean them periodically, possibly even with custom patterns printed on the filters to tidy the look of your mining farm up a bit Smiley

ha I looked and it seems there isn't one, and steamcoin.com was held by the video game site that sells videogames for buying their games using bitcoin. though nothing is on the site now, and I think the URL was abandoneds ha ha.

though I would suggest 0% premine, and the new adaptive-N-factor for the basis since steampunks tend to go overboard on quality and give each other a mountain of hard time if the item is not exquisite and made from the best materials, (just look up "just glue some gears on it and call it steam punk" on youtube) lol or head over to the brassgoggles forums on the www.brassgoggles.co.uk site and ask around for a guy named jinglejoe and ask him what he thinks about painted plastic, on anything ha ha.

**that youtube video, for those who did not want to search but wanted to listen
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFCuE5rHbPA

the guy who released a Teslacoin using the scrypt-jane and premining it is lucky he has not met all the stern faces from the steam community on launch or he might not have made it to launch at all cause they can indeed drive a dividing force bringing things down lol

ha ha that also reminds me. someone should one up that coin called "shitcoin" doing one far worse and call it the Edisoncoin as I am sure a ton of Tesla worshipers would be all over that, since they love anything that smears Thomas Edisons name XD

finished shots of the goggles including how they fold up for storage Smiley

Fully folded up here

video is still coming. waiting on it to be processed by youtube, running a new machine that I have not installed my normal processing software to compress for uploading and whatnot so it was a pretty big file I sent to them lol

231  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Question: PayPal Fraud on: March 01, 2014, 03:13:23 AM
pretty sure I read somewhere that someone tried to get bitcoin from paying with paypal and then reversing charges cause they knew paypal does not have staff that can check blockchains and what not to verify it was sent, and because paypal was able to see the buyer was initiating a digital purpose they would not support their dispute, and the seller of the bitcoin could have actually not sent the bitcoin and scammed the buyer. so really it is not paypal screwing the seller or the buyer, they are just taking the easiest option that will not have them owing anyone. just something to be aware of. I have won cases where buyers bought goods then switched parts and claimed I sent them beat up old product and paypal said no way and sided with me. while another time someone paid for two shipments in two payments and had me combine them to save on shipping, then he claimed he did not get the package for the cheap payment (and add on for more parts) and when I got done submitting my tracking info for that he claimed he dd not get the other package and of course since only one package was sent I only had one tracking number, so he go that larger payment back because paypal would not let me use the same tracking number for both shipments. and they would not pick up a phone to track a package either even with a 1800 number and signed confirmation from the buyer, so there is that too (most of their CS was in india at the time, and I guess it actually costs a lot to call a US based 800 number unlike being free for us here.) all sorts of things to look at with paypal. so yeah, unless you are willing to lose some potential money I would try and convince people to switch to bitcoin lol, would be nice to starve preypal anyway.

oh and if you do insist (or they do) on using paypal, and want some tips on how to protect yourself message me, if you ship anything with tracking to them even a letter with the content in it (say CD) there is a way to verify it and if it crosses state lines and you use US mail it becomes a federal offense for them to lie about getting it, as that is tampering with US mail lol. lawyer-ing up in that situation can land them with prison time and most people will back down if they think you can prove you sent it, since they are committing perjury by lying under oath, which is what it would come down to.

video coming tonight. also if any one wants to use paypal to hang onto their bitcoins till the price goes up this month, feel free Smiley (I will probably be taking any cash I can and dump it into getting bitcoins or megacoins before this lull ends and the market recovers from the typical yearly febuary crash that happens every year once tax refunds start replenishing peoples funds from all the holiday spending lol.)
233  Economy / Goods / Re: Goggles made of titanium *solid metal sheet CP grade 2 in 1920's wilson style :) on: February 27, 2014, 05:02:22 PM
lol you dont have to be in to steam punk to get a good use out of a good pair of goggles Smiley also these titanium ones would work for diesel punk and atomic punk (that retro 50's look that blends with diesel punk lol)

I guess I should ask, what sort of things and genre's of stuff would you guys be interested in?
234  Economy / Goods / Re: Hand made jewelry on: February 27, 2014, 03:34:56 PM
wow nice, you do the hammering work on the brass and pewter? from one metal smith to another that is awesome.

Good luck and if you are interested in some custom tools to work metal let me know. I can either help with design or make them and ship them to you Smiley
235  Economy / Goods / Re: Goggles made of titanium *solid metal sheet CP grade 2 in 1920's wilson style :) on: February 27, 2014, 03:18:53 PM
awesome and morbid I really like the girl with the worm friend. Cheesy

lol thanks, that was done about 15 years ago when I was going through an HR Giger phase Smiley

and incidentally that was the very first face I did that was straight on and the nose actually looked ok instead of being rubbish shading that just did not work Smiley additionally that is a photo copy that I cleaned up with photoshop after scanning it because the guy who bought the original could not find where he lost it to when he moved houses. sad that I let the original graphite on paper go for like 15 bucks back then to pay for something probably music equipment oriented back then, I would love to buy back all the stuff I sold at prices like that now, to just hang onto lol.

the red and green paintings are watercolor on paper stock and I actually still have them even with the mice trying to eat them about 9 or 10 years ago lol. thought about making art cards from scans of them if anyone is interested in a cheap way to collect some art. Smiley limited runs? with real signatures on the backs and some info on each items creation? what do you guys think?
236  Economy / Goods / Re: Goggles made of titanium *solid metal sheet CP grade 2 in 1920's wilson style :) on: February 27, 2014, 03:06:31 PM
I have made rosaries like you see in the movie boondock saints but the iron cross is just a concho design I picked cause the other stuff was to western where I got it to make my collar with. One of these days I will replace it with something custom I am sure, just not today lol

as for other metal work I am working on a custom open air mining case, that I am making custom brackets and rails and what not, for. I have a bender I can make angle bends in any degree up to about 100 degrees (slightly tighter than 90) and all the way down to 1 degree(no point in putting a sheet into it for 180 since that is flat lol) as well as some tools for custom shift bends (where the metal has to be 180º but change level like a mm or two to go over another metal section) but nothing more than hand tools for this so they are still a little rough and hand worked looking, you can see the pics of the work so far here if you like

(yes I am lifting the whole case from the power cables coming from that power supply since it is bolted to the angle in the corner there Smiley )

and the bracket design I was talking about with the lift bend to allow it going from one angle level to the next Smiley

Understand this is a rough case as it is just being built to get the measurements down to make templates for hole positioning and what not so they line up to allow threading of one metal part to bolt them together with out having to use a ton of nuts, but the screws in it are still long enough to add a nut and washer behind them.

I am considering making small washers from titanium too for things like retaining screws that hold parts together in computer cases, if anyone is interested,

237  Economy / Goods / Re: Goggles made of titanium *solid metal sheet CP grade 2 in 1920's wilson style :) on: February 27, 2014, 01:54:27 PM
Looks amazing! How much would you ask for such a piece?

not sure what you are asking. the goggles made of titanium are 200 USD so what ever the going coin value is at the time, which right now would be pretty low, but I expect in a week or two the price is going to rise significantly for all coins on a market, as people come out of the blues brought on by the emotional and economic high they just came off of from the holidays. that and the infusion of fresh money in the form of tax refunds in the US Smiley

if you are referring to the other art work in the first post, quote and include the code for the piece so I know what you are interested in Smiley

239  Economy / Goods / new stuff from my wrkshp coming & chance 4 custom wrk from Borgsteamfactory. :) on: February 27, 2014, 01:24:15 PM
Hello, this is my first post about selling for crypto currencies so I will update this post as needed to correct it for any mistakes I may be making in protocol for doing this here, Please let me know if there is anything I need to do to make sure it is correct here.

so as seen on the last post I have posted pics of what I am doing to make an open air mining case, spots for 3 powersupplies motherboard hard drive (possibly a spot for an optical drive under this, will see, though, and up to I believe 7 video card spots on hanging rails that give better support than anything that has been put out that I have seen so far. more pics to come.

ok, so the items I am offering starting right now with this:(these have been sold, and shipped, more to come, have some brass with surgical grade stainless hardware coming shortly and eventually the second and last pair of titanium goggles will be placed here as well, in the mean time I am still open to custom orders and working on developing the most efficient and effective open air case as well. (first one of those has been shipped to my friend who is now giving me feed back on what to change that I might have missed, and I also should soon have some hardware to get more nitty gritty into engineering a specific arrangement to give the maximum protection in all ways to the hardware going into it, not just to protect it from heat.  I have been seeing little by little people are becoming aware that the open air case designs on ebay and else where are not quite up to snuff but it seems most do not have any experience in engineering, so hopefully I can up the ante on that Smiley

a pair of titanium rimmed and bodied goggles with mirror brass tint lenses (I can change those out for silver mirror, transparent colors like: red, blue, yellow, grey(black), green, orange or just clear with no color tint,

***this info is still valid on upcoming goggles that will be available here, as is the colors of material I can make lenses from :red, blue, yellow, grey(black), green, orange or just clear with no color tint.

lens are made from either acrylic or lexan and are about 3mm thick (1/8th inch for those of us still on the imperial standard) so they are way way way thicker than the lenses you get on any pair of safety glasses, though due to the vents on the sides and how they are handled I can not guarantee safety with them, that is up to you and how you use them Smiley
they have brass hardware for lubricity on moving points like the temples, and can be folded up neatly for storage, edges of the side shields (the part with the F hole like a violin body has, shaped like a landau bars on a hearse) are protected by rolled brass around them to make a comfortable and safe contact point on the face should they be pressed down on you from something hitting them while say wearing them on your motorcycle. and the nose pads are massive rounded comfortable steel pads that can be (at request) covered in soft leather or soft clear silicone as thick or thin as you like,

additionally each part is held together using screws (4-40 and 2-56) so any part can be replaced should they become damaged. and I will support this indefinitely (been in business for many years and been making these goggles for about 5 years now) so you can order anything from a lens, to a set of screws or nose bridge at any time to replace a part on them, or even order parts and assemble a pair from scratch even.

I can make goggles like this from (*and have been known to) aluminum, stainless, brass and copper as well as titanium.
and can use silver or gold if that is your gig Smiley eventually I hope to obtain a good source for niobium and other rare very durable metals, and have a way to anodize color onto the titanium if you desire, though there would be an extra charge for this, mostly for the time, so if you just want basic color over it all, not to bad on cost, but if you want me to use a paint brush and varied voltages to paint a pattern on them, which I can do, then it might be more depending on how long it took me to get it right Smiley

I will add some art to show my level of eye hand co-ordination too, so you know what you can expect.

I will add more stuff as time goes on. each item I make is hand made and assembled and all processes are often made by tooling I made my self so if you need custom tooling for leather or metal work feel free to shoot me a message here or on skype say at the user name architct

for payment I would be looking at about 200 dollars for these plus shipping. in btc I would want to get with you and do the transaction fairly quickly for any portion I need to restock so I can get the cash value with out having to over charge you incase of fluctuation in value. I am hoping to be able to start holding any money in btc or alt coins I am collecting that I do not need to operate my business so if you know of anyone selling raw resources that would deal in btc or alt coins, feel free to message me there on that too Smiley

so with that all in mind, what I am proposing is that I take either cashable coin or paypal for things like shipping and supplies (in the case of the above goggles I would want say around 5 dollars of it for screws as I will need to reup on those the most quickly, while other materials I can wait a month or more to reup on, and what ever it costs in shipping in one of those two ways, though paypal is the easiest to get a priority label to your destination quickly and mail something in hours to a day at most, as long as you did not contact me late on the end of the week lol then it would be monday morning first thing to ship to you. Smiley

I have an ebay account if you want to converse that way and see my feedback rating with customers. and if you see something over there you want to do a transaction using coins you can contact me here to make arrangements Smiley

ok so some art work I have done in the past and still have incase anyone is actually interested in obtaining that as well Smiley

also if you are still with me, some goggles I have made in the past that I can possibly make a few more of, (materials with the engraving is running low and no source to restock in site) the silver ones are a very heavy plated silver (like it was dipped or something) over brass, and the brass ones are just the same engraving stripped of the silver to reveal the brass under neath. the yellow mirror tinted lenses are the same as the ones on the titanium so you can see the color difference a lot easier here Smiley

*the last couple images should put a face to who is behind making all this stuff as that is me being silly with them for the photo shoots, (and no I dont have the means to work with real models, so like everything else I do the work myself Smiley )

on coin payments. I can take noble, btc, megacoin, as well as paypal. I will be expanding what coins I can take too, as time goes on, and may have forgotten some coins I am currently collecting.

I know nothing about the escrow services so far but if I did use one, I would add the cost of that to them, and require release of funds to ship before shipping, but they can hold onto the rest till your tracking number shows up and you let them know things are good Smiley

240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VTC] Vertcoin - Adaptive N-factor in Scrypt - No more ASICs on: February 10, 2014, 12:34:49 AM
all this talk of dumping coins causing the coin to fail is nonsense. it is only a fail if you are not in it to work with the coin. if you all dump your coins when it is falling and wait to grab them back at the bottom it causes the value to go back up and this up and down motion is what attracts speculators to invest their fiat currency they worked all week to get, into the market, kinda like a pool party with lots of laughter and splashing around indicates a fun party that everyone wants in on. Just if you dump be sure to buy back (and get more coins in the long run) your coins and the market will only get stronger and stronger Smiley

That will take this inventive coin to the top over ltc and bring it nearly on par if not more so than bitcoin.
