221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [pandacoin] The Panda Coin ♥ Scrypt Adaptive-N w/Kimotos Gravity Well ★ on: February 21, 2014, 01:19:31 AM
as this whole "saga" is unfolding, panda's price seems to have been stabilized, for now, and is trading at a relatively healthy volume....

that said,

EVERYONE fucked up...

devs were too panicky and shortsighted, and wolong couldn't keep his napoleon complex under control Smiley

i'd like to try this pool out, but it says registrations are currently closed...

any idea on when they'll be open again ?

My hash rate is averaging about 1100k on two asus 290x dcu2. I know, it's very disappointing. I was able to get the hash rate up to about 1300k, but I wasn't comfortable with the temps. I haven't heard about anyone having good mining results with these cards. But to ease the pain, I keep telling myself I bought them for gaming, not mining.

i have two of these asus cards sitting new in the box, and am hesitant to open them... there is very little information to be found on their hash rates (they're very new), but the info that i do see is not positive... everything i find has people complaining that they can't pull more then 600+ out of these, which is extremely disappointing for a 290x...

please let me know if you were able to tweak these to the "normal" 290x speed of 900+...

i have a question about difficulty settings...

i'm currently mining only using 2 cards, and pushing out an average of 1.8 mhash...

from what i understand, the difficulty for this type of speed should be kept as low as possible to produce more consistent payouts...

my other two cards just came in... i'm testing/tuning them now, and in the next few hours they will be added to my miner, and will double my speed to 3.6 mhash...

once everything is in, do i still stick with a diff of 64, or do i bump up ?

i'm trying to get a feel for when it's time to bump up the diff, and how it works overall...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

ps... i tried posting the same question a few minutes ago, but it looks like the forum software "ate it"... so if the same question shows up twice from me, my apologies...

Sometimes something happens that requires the coin client to be updated and its blockchain re-downloaded.
You mean like a filesystem crash ?

No, it's something to do with the coin itself. I don't know the details but it happens at the exchanges too and they're hands are tied until they have the latest client aka wallet installed and the blockchain up to date which sometimes means starting over.

I'm not saying I know what's wrong, just saying there's several possibilities and many of us have mined right through them.

My miners are running just fine on both scrypt and SHA MultiPorts and if cgMiner says my shares are being accepted then I know that I will be paid all I'm owed.

my miners are stuck "connecting"... they were still working away as long as half hour ago, and it looked like shares were being accepted etc.. not anymore...

i'm watching what's happening with multipool and i'm torn...

on one hand, i'd much rather have the admins spend their time fixing whatever is wrong instead of hanging out on the forums answering questions...

on the other hand, it has been down long enough where something should've been said, or at the very least - the message on the site should've been updated...

the more time goes by with the main site down, the more i'm starting to lean towards the latter...
