221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hashcoin [HASH] - DGW2 - Automatic Checkpointing - X11 ~ Stable! on: April 21, 2014, 09:36:16 AM
Here is the latest concept for the new logo....Im thinking I will use it for Hashcoin....Does anyone agree? Smiley

OMG, Wonderful!!!

Just 2 things:
- I would prefer the power of 11 in violet like somebody else made in his sample... just because 11 is not a part of the name of the coin but it indicates the algo...
- I didn't ustand why the blades r different... With no prospective they should be all the same... I think the best one in proportion and shape is the one on the top in the center (time 12)... I'd replicate this blade in the other 10 positions...
For the rest it's perfect and very POWERFUL!!!
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hashcoin [HASH] - DGW2 - Automatic Checkpointing - X11 ~ Stable! on: April 19, 2014, 08:17:48 PM
Really u r on the right way... just the blades shape is to remake a bit...
The models i showed u have even too long blades and too small center but u can take them as a background example to build on ur own design...
A nice logo w a professional look is an important visit card... Wink
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hashcoin [HASH] - DGW2 - Automatic Checkpointing - X11 ~ Stable! on: April 19, 2014, 07:36:45 PM
Wonderful!!!
Il like grey and acid yellow combination and even more the blades in smooth-fading...
Better the one on the top...
I would reduce a bit the circle in the center to have a bit more space around for the blades...
Here r 2 11 blades fans w a good shape u can take as model:
http://www.quietpc.com/images/products/cl-swif2-12p-large.jpg
http://www.quietpc.com/images/products/rv-120-fan-800-large.jpg
And maybe for the H in the center u can try to put 11 as EXP: H11
Sorry i cannot help u but i'm not able to use any vect programm...
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Hashcoin [HASH] - DGW2 - Automatic Checkpointing - X11 ~ Stable! on: April 18, 2014, 09:20:32 PM
Hi dev,
so impatient to see a draft of the new logo... 11 blades fan (one for each algo used) with a mighty H in the center... it will be the symbol of the POWER... 'cause the HUGE POWER needs to be cooled by HUGE FAN!  Grin
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] DarkCoin | First Anonymous Coin | First X11 | First DGW | ASIC Resistant on: April 17, 2014, 08:23:22 PM
Full respect you are right fotgotten about it.

YEP, low diff and I get 0,62 DRK/hour so 14,88/day !!! YES YES YES.....dont mine it to early guys Tongue
Some write that it`s not profitable but persistent ones will win. With my 4x 280x + i5 I get 0,0189 BTC/day - electricity.... so get more that any other scrypt coin mining.... who knows how long it lasts....

mow much do you pay per kwh

Prezzo dell'Energia - F1 €/kWh 0,117500
Prezzo dell'Energia - F2 €/kWh 0,041500
Prezzo dell'Energia - F3 €/kWh 0,041500

So I have 4 gpu 280x every conumes about 200watt/h = 4*200watt = 0,8 kWh (assuming just on my eye looking at counter don`t have a killawatt) If 280x takes less than 200 watt for hour...the proifitability will rise Smiley
I get 9000 Mhash/s with them.

60hours a week pay 0,1175 euro/kWh = 7,05 euro
60hours a week pay 0,0415 euro/kWh = 2,49 euro
and 2 days of weekend = 48 hours pay 0,0415 euro/kWh = 1,5936
---------------
After 1 WEEK of 7/24 mining it costs me 11,13 euro + VAT (10%)
After 1 MONTH of 7/24 mining it costs me 47,71 euro + VAT (10%)
1 month costs of electricity is 52,48 euro
---------------
I get ~7,5 drk/day nowadays...today almost doubled coins with this low diff....
7,5 coin * ~0,0013BTC/coin = 0,00975BTC/day * 30 days = 0,2925BTC * 370 euro = 108,22 euro profit - 52,48 euro costs of electricity = 55,74 euro clear profit @ 4x 280x gpu

EDIT: sorry I did wrong calculations with weekly hours Smiley - too much mathetmatics Cheesy

It seems you didn't receive the first electricity bill yet...
The price u put for F1, ,F2, F3 r pure prices for electricity... u forgot dispatchment, fees and lot of other imposts u should know we r used to have here in Italy...
If u have a good electricity tariff u can hope in an optimistic 0.25/0.30 euro/kwh...
So it's better to remake ur counts or u'll have bad surprises...
Not last, remember in Italy the price per kwh rises with consumption... Using 6000 kwh/year u pay double price per kwh than using 3000 kwh/year...
With 4x7950 undervolted i have 850 at wall... w your rigs (4x280x + i5 cpu) u'll be approx 900/1000w... It means for 24/7 u r approx 8500/9000 kwh/year (just for the rig... + all the rest u have at home!)
I'm not saying not to mine, but make your right counts... I'm doing it... and not for daily profit but 'cause i believe and trust the potential of some alt coins!
Happy mining!  Grin

Thanks for corection this. I was wondering having so big differences within EU.
I have to pay 0.25€/kwh, which is a very low price for average consumers in germany.
Maybe we can collect some worldwide prices to get a better view on how cheap DRK can be mined, or how deep we could go with price on DRK depening only on production cost.

I can talk abt Italy where the electricity is one of the most expensive all over the europe (see below)

The graph shows prices of Q1 2013
I can also talk abt Russia where i'm going to move for abt one year (sure not for mining but i'll bring all my GPUs in my suitcase!  Grin )... There it seems abt 6-8 eurocents taxes and vat included...
226  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 17, 2014, 07:40:37 PM
We need actions. When the algo will be changed? Who will ever interest of this coin, if ther will be mined more than half of total coins.

what do you mean? people can be mining since the start so i see no issue with it, they can mine now. Although yes would be good to get the algo swapped over asap.

As far as i understood swapping the algo it will be like to create a new coin w a huge premine...
I think that we shoud fairly increase the total coins to reduce the percent of already mined coins w the old algo and to add PoS...
Then once the technical matters r solved we need a good marketing campaign to relaunch the coin...
I'm not an expert in marketing but the coin has good qualities, fair characteristics and an excellent name...
We could start from social networks and then to try to involve in the project people and companies who are related to bees and to the market of bee's products...
My brother in law has a company of propolis related products made in Italy... i think he could put a banner in his website and to talk abt the BeeCoin project to his customers... but we need to be credible with a solid base project, long term ambitions and a strong active community...

People, we are not holding DRK speculating on short term valuation!

All coins i mined until now at the end price always comes out to cover electricity plus a small profit.
It΄s always the same ....

Don't worry and don't panic... keep them in to your wallets... On some of them u'll lose... on some of them u'll cover the costs... but on some of them i'm sure u'll gain a lot!

My 4 7950s undervolted to 1.081v take 845W at wall in Scrypt for 2.4Mhs/s... same rig takes 445W in X11 for 7.1Mhs/s!  Shocked

Can anybody explain to me why the total coins were reduced from 84 million to 22 million?..
Because as far as i think who had a such amount of coins in the wallet, after reducing have a percent of total coin 4 times more... and also the value i think got higher...
Is it correct?

Very cool! It's perfect for me... It has all the characteristics to describe in the best way DarkCoin! Good job!
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 15, 2014, 11:23:19 AM
I see X11 is getting more and more popular...
Check on altcoincalendar... all new coins are adopting it...
Seems lot of GPU miners will soon switch their rigs to mine with this algo... because of summer, because of poor payout of scrypt, because of geedsids and coming asics, because they believe of the strenght and the efficiency of the new algo...
Let us swap the algo and relaunch the coin...
at least we will have a new chance... staying on Scrypt the death is inevitable..

First they locked the payments for some days as if, setting up the new gui, they forgot the re-enable the payment function... Then they disappeared with all our coins! F**k them!
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 14, 2014, 07:56:43 AM
Consider X11 essentially is an algo with 11 rounds of scientific hashing functions merged together (blake, bmw, groestl, jh, keccak, skein, luffa, cubehash, shavite, simd, echo).
As far as i understood it's made so right to be ASICs resistant as much as possible...
About Blake256 sure it's also ASICs resistant now... but it seems, as i wrote in a previos post, that it's ASIC's friendly... it means:
"...it is a simplified and parallelized design. This means that it is highly efficient on GPUs and FPGAs, and if or when ASICs are made for Blake-256 it also will be highly efficient..."
"...The simplistic nature of the Blake-256 algorithm makes it easier and cheaper to implement in silicon, so if or when Blake-256 ASICs are manufactured, they will be considerably less expensive and also considerably more power efficient than SHA-256 or Scrypt ASICs..."

Then if it is so it depends if we would like in a future to boost the nethasrate switching to cheaper ASIC in the case they will be developed for our algo...
About other characteristics of these algos i don't have any any competence to say anything... i'm just trying to ustand something collecting infos are in forums...
I agree with you it's necessary to move away from Scrypt asap to save our BEEs...
236  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [RESURRECTION] Taking Beecoin to the Hive Flying!MANDATORY Client Update! on: April 13, 2014, 11:26:04 PM
Do people not realize how inferior X11 is to Blake256?

I wouldn't pick something just because it's trending.

Blake-256(optimized) is faster than Scrypt, SHA-256D, Keccak  Grin

It is also incredibly energy efficient, and provides Nvidia card owners an equal chance.

The algorithm was written as a candidate for SHA-3, Based on round one candidate code from the Sphlib 2.1 library and reduced the round function to 8 rounds.

Advantages

Design
• simplicity of the algorithm
• interface for hashing with a salt

Performance
• fast in both software and hardware
• parallelism and throughput/area trade-off for hardware implementation
• simple speed/confidence trade-off with the tunable number of rounds

Security
• based on an intensively analyzed component (ChaCha)
• resistant to generic second-preimage attacks
• resistant to side-channel attacks
• resistant to length-extension

Blake is the fastest !

  • 3.4GH/s on a AMD Radeon R9 290X
  • 5.1GH/s on a AMD ATI Radeon 7990
  • 2.2GH/s - 2.8GH/s on a AMD ATI Radeon 7970
  • 1.4GH/s on a AMD ATI Radeon 6970
  • 1.3GH/s on a AMD ATI Radeon 5870
  • 1.6GH/s on a ZTEX USB-FPGA 1.15y Quad Spartan-6 LX150 Development Board
  • 1.5GH/s on a Enterpoint Cairnsmore 1 Quad Spartan-6 LX150 Development Board
  • 800MH/s on a Lancelot Dual Spartan-6 LX150 Development Board
  • 360MH/s on a ZTEX USB-FPGA 1.15x Spartan-6 LX150 Development Board

Do you guys really want Beecoin to die again?  Make the right choice before it's too late!

Waterfall algorithms are insecure and inferior.

The miner for X11 is not optimized.  People have much faster miners than the ones that are available to the public.

You are right... It's right for that i asked to the dev to change my vote for Blake256 w PoS...
Here is a good interesting article to read abt it...
http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/1xue3t/blakecoin_blake256_optimized_faster_than_scrypt/
I already tuned one of my rig to test it and the results are excellent...
4 x 7950 undervolted to 1.081v, core 1010, mem 1250, "The Stilt" optimized bios:
Scrypt => 2450 Khash/s, power 845W at wall, fan 55%, temps 60/65°C
Blake256 => 8300 Mhash/s, power 690W at wall, fan 50%, temps 55/60°C (@memclock 300MHz!)
Not last it will be supported by the next ver of CudaMiner... So GTX 750Ti will give us a chance do save energy for an additional 40%... not bad...
Let us switch away from dead Scrypt...

Hey thanks for that comparison so we are saying almost 1/3 less electricity than scrypt. Can you please compare x11 to blake in terms of electricity too?  scrypt is a resource hog for sure but how does blake go against x11?

done!
here the results with darkcoin (based on x11)
X11 => 7.0 Mhash/s, power 440W at wall, fan 42%, temps 45/50°C (@memclock 1498MHz)

as u can see abt the energy it's even better... we are close to 1/2 than scrypt... abt the hash it's 7Mh/s vs 8300Mh/s
The values r for the same rig as above (4 x 7950)
I didn't try cpu mining...
It seems for gpu the hashrate is still proportional to the stream processors...
7950 => 1792 s.p. => 1.75Mh/s
R9 280x => 2048 s.p. => 2.00Mh/s
R9 290 => 2560 s.p. => 2.50Mh/s

What can i say? x11 is also very very good!
Make your choice!  Wink

Yes he's not writing anything here since long time...
It's a pity cause it's the best Linux distro for mining as ever!
The new PIMP is not bad but SMOS is much much better...
Hoping he won't stop to support it... and hope he's working for a new ver...
Scrypt is over for GPU and lot of new algos r coming out... we need support to make them running under SMOS...
Blake256 is a good example how much promising new algos can be for all gpu's owners... but it doesn't run under SMOS... Sad

Last night I was enlightened by someone about Blakecoin and the future potential of the blake256 algorithm, so I've switched my mining rig to full time blc! Just wanted to report my hashrates for anybody with a similar setup looking for ball park numbers, I'm very impressed with the blake256 efficiency so far: high hash rates, low temps. I'm using the kR105 cgminer and running BAMT 1.5.2, it was actually quite easy to switch from scrypt to blake256 - I'm impressed.

I have 4x Gigabyte R9 270s:

I'll be happy to share my config if anybody with 270s is interested, just ask.

Excuse me... just one question... How could you get working kr105 cgminer from the moment it's x64 and BAMT 1.5.2 is 32 bit (as far as i know)?

Trying to do the same with SMOS 1.3 but I get error "cannot execute binary file" that seems it's right due to different architectures...

Thank you!

It seems it's dead... but i don't know why i had good impression on it: long time halves, no max numbs of coins, low premine and not last the logo...
If it wouldn't be for Scrypt algo i would give it a shot...
Seriously devs, r u still working/supporting/developing this coin?..
Working on the new wallet have u considering the possibility to swap on a asics-proof algo?.. maybe one even more energy efficient?
I would like to mine it...
Thank u!
