221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: December 12, 2023, 04:01:25 PM
Luck does not depend on how much time you spend gambling. You can play all day and only lose, or you can win in just a few minutes. It is more important here is the place of intuition than the time spent. The right moment to make a bet is the determining factor

224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: December 10, 2023, 04:08:04 PM
For a player, age doesn't matter. If a person is 100 years old and a successful player, why should he retire? Here we can only talk about success or failure, and there is no point in talking about age. Each person has his own notions of limitations, and only the person himself has the right to set various personal criteria
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone here started with a decent bankroll in sports? on: December 10, 2023, 04:00:23 PM
Sometimes I bet on horse races for interest. My initial pot is only 10 dollars. I bet against a particular horse winning a particular race. Sometimes a series of guesses lasted up to 40-50 races, and managed to earn up to 2-3x. Thus, you can train your own intuition. If you feel that a given horse 90% will not win, it is easier to find those who are likely to win
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 10, 2023, 03:47:35 PM
The lines represent bookmakers' quotes, that is, they make their own forecasts for the event, but it would be wrong to place bets only on the basis of these quotes. Bookmakers determine the favorite and expect certain outcomes, but they are often wrong when sensations occur, and if it were so easy to bet and win just based on the bookmakers' lines, then bettors could easily win, but this does not happen.

It should be taken into account that bookmakers can specifically indicate false quotes to deceive too gullible players, so you can not overly trust only one statistic. You need to trust more and your own intuition - without it is impossible to participate in gambling
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What I learnt from a crackhead about gambling on: December 10, 2023, 03:39:04 PM
There are many people who gamble only for fun but after becoming addicted to gambling cannot be stopped. I used to gamble just for fun at first but later it got me addicted. Not only gambling, people are addicted to many things but the habit of losing money is an exception, because when there is a shortage of money then people change their behavior. However no one is forcing you to gamble or even befriending you, so gambling is your personal ritual and you can spend your money anywhere.

One way or another, money should bring, among other things, pleasure. For some people it is fun to save money, and for others it is fun to spend money. Gambling is designed to bring a certain kind of pleasure. The main thing is that the loss should not be more than the amount allocated for the game
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who should quit, and why? on: December 10, 2023, 03:31:42 PM
Man, in my opinion, this is the worst scenario that I can imagine.
I don't want to see my wife gamble like me so she doesn't and it's working better for us. There must be one who can control the other one especially if he/she knows you are gambling and the person who gambles reports how much he is betting. i.e. in Sports betting.
That's how it works for us. I always tell my wife how much money I put on the line because she is also watching the games with me in our free time. And there are times that she is the one asking that question whenever I am hooked on the game. I mean, she will obviously know it because I am shouting my throat out to the team I am rooting for. Grin

Back to the topic, I think one should quit. Having someone to stop another when he/she is crossing the line is a healthy move. One should know how to control the other so that the money won't be spent on abnormal bets. (emotional ones)
That's my take for that and also someone to be strict on the gambler so that the kids won't hear about it.

It should be understood that a family is a union, first of all, of equal people. The wife does not owe anyone anything. If the husband plays, the wife has the right to do so as well. If the husband cheats on his wife, the wife has the right to cheat on her husband. If both are players, the less successful player must stop
229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: December 09, 2023, 03:23:18 PM
When a person gambles with his own money, he tries to take into account the risks and somehow control them. When a person gambles with borrowed money (especially if he has the opportunity to take rather large loans), he often begins to behave recklessly and spend money without an account (this is the specific nature of most people).
230  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 03:16:47 PM
Money can be simply spent. Gambling gives a chance to increase the amount of money (it is clear that this chance is small, but still it is better than nothing), also a person gets certain emotions (the main thing - try not to give in too much to excitement). In general, to each his own
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 09, 2023, 03:09:54 PM
Even if you decide to spend 1% of your capital on gambling to minimize losses, it will be almost impossible to keep to such a small self-restraint, especially if the probability of winning seems almost one hundred percent. Easier said than done
232  Economy / Economics / Re: Is energy prices about to shoot up? on: December 09, 2023, 03:05:14 PM
Oil is in decline I've been reading recently, OPEC is trying to suggest lower supply will be the case but market perceives lower prices are correct.  Since thats the bulk of energy it would usually indicate we dont see especially high prices this winter perhaps.  Also Dollar index is rising again today and has often risen over the whole range of time frames, it would seem high energy cost is not yet here or indicated.
Generally I do think energy can rise alongside many commodities but not in a simple way.  Another big indicator is the growth of China which is not simply up yet either, its not negative despite some wars it could be worse and thats another big factor often spiking prices.

I assume that from January 2024 the dollar index will already start to fall. Oil prices are dictated by a cartel consisting of major player countries, which can calmly control the price by reducing or increasing production. And one should not be happy about a temporary decrease - ordinary people will always be the losers
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Is Bitcoin Price Increasing? on: December 09, 2023, 02:55:08 PM
If we look at ETFs, I think the big players have long known the likely adoption dates and have been buying them at lower prices. However, news of adoption will definitely drive prices up. And it won't take long for halving of bitcoin. As usually, we will have good spring 2024 and no good summer 2024
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 08, 2023, 11:52:49 AM
Gambling usually affects behavior. If a person loses often, he may fall into severe depression or, on the contrary, become irascible and aggressive. Each win can lead to unreasonable euphoria, foolish wastefulness, carelessness in financial matters. Therefore, it is extremely important for the player to fully control himself
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why sports betting? on: December 08, 2023, 11:40:47 AM
Those who make bets are often interested in the speed of money turnover. If you made a bet and the result will be known in a year - not everyone is ready to wait that long. You can bet on sports even during the event, and until the end of the event, the winnings can be used for new bets an unlimited number of times
236  Economy / Economics / Re: Our future with renewable energy. on: December 08, 2023, 11:34:30 AM
Renewable energy is nowhere near as flawless as people say it is. Not all countries and locations can use it. Energy generation occurs at certain times of the day, not around the clock. There are also problems with the capacity of the renewable energy source and the high cost of production
237  Economy / Economics / Re: What class of an investor are you? on: December 08, 2023, 11:25:56 AM
Getting research ab out different coins made me a better trader but that take more time as compared to a tutor or someone is teaching a person trading. Personally I believe we should do trading with having a good capital available in each sense.

Also we should avoid most things in trading like we have to do trading with full confidence in order to get out of the pressure of loss. Mostly users got frightened by having loss in different areas.

In order to trade, you need to have certain knowledge and skills, as well as the character and ability to maintain financial discipline. Not everyone has these qualities. Personally, I like holding more than trading, so I try to study projects thoroughly before investing in them
238  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 11:18:44 AM
We have different perspectives on retirement.
As for me, my definition of retirement is that you can do everything that you want without any hindrances whatsoever.

Retirement for me doesn't mean that you will stop working because as long as you can still work, as much as possible work for you to get money. Retirement for me means that you can do everything of your own free will. Some want to do something but they can't because they have a 9-5 job. I've seen many old people who are still working even though they are at the age where they can retire because they love what they're doing. That's my other definition of retirement. To do everything that you love of your own free will without thinking of anything that will just make you stressed.

Overall, different people have different definitions of retirement, but if you can still work for some reason then at least work as long as you love what you're doing.

In many countries, pensions are so small that a person is often forced to look for various part-time jobs (if health permits). Therefore, not everyone can enjoy their free time. Yes, there are few options for pensioners to earn money, but they are there
239  Economy / Economics / Re: COVID is dead, "long live the new COVID". World economy get ready? on: December 07, 2023, 04:41:57 PM
If necessary, Pandemic 2.0 will be launched very quickly. Perhaps as soon as the pandemic agreement is signed, which is being actively promoted by the World Health Organization, which has already played an ominous role in 2020. All the mechanisms of interaction have already been fine-tuned
240  Economy / Economics / Re: Inventing a job is better than finding a job on: December 07, 2023, 04:30:18 PM

Take it easy... because if you have money and are an insider, getting a job is not difficult. That's what happened in my place. One can easily get a job just by giving some money to an insider. Even this has become a very common thing and the people who play in it do not hesitate to set a price, so that someone can be accepted to work in a company. even to become a factory employee, they have to bribe with a sum of money that is approximately equal to the employee's salary for one month. So when there is someone who wants to become a factory employee, then he must give up one month's salary that he gets while working.

And what's worse, man..... besides the acts of corruption that often occur in the employee recruitment process, there are also irresponsible people who try to take advantage of this opportunity to deceive job applicants. Where the person claims to be someone who has an important position in a factory or company, then he tries to commit a crime of fraud by offering applicants a fast track to work, on condition that they give a certain amount of money. But in reality he really can't guarantee that the person's job application will be accepted.

Here, of course, everything depends on the honesty of the intermediary and how much he cares about his reputation. An employer benefits from having a qualified, conflict-free employee come to him, and such people can be attracted mainly by recommendation. If a recommender wants to earn his interest, he must correctly assess the employer's needs and be honest with applicants
