221  Economy / Gambling / Re: What makes PrimeDice the best? Or one of them? on: January 19, 2016, 01:40:38 PM
Based on alot of people talking about it, I've come to the conclusion (that may be wrong) that PrimeDice is the most popular bitcoin casino. But why? I can't use primedice in my country, so I don't know.

Is it the community?
Is it the increasing faucet?
Is it the good looks?
Is it the good reviews?
Is it the knowledge that they've survived more than a million dollars in loss?

Network effect, looks good, easy to use, trustworthy. Those are the things which come to mind.  They must be doing good because they dont need a signature campaign Smiley
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still use fiat to buy things on Amazon.com? on: January 19, 2016, 01:38:14 PM
I'm curious if people who actually know about Purse.io still actually pay full price for things on Amazon when you could be getting your purchase at a 20% discount.

I'd like to know your reasons why. For my friends and family I understand because they're scared of this "bitcoin" thing, but for those who use Bitcoin, why would you not?

If you don't buy things on Amazon...not really asking you anything here.

I guess people dont like having to pay any fees to get bitcoin, i dont know what the best current options are.  Even if you dont pay a fee you pay with time. If people have fiat and they see a product the quickest way is just to buy it with fiat.
223  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK Government Urged to use Blockchain by Chief Science advisor on: January 19, 2016, 01:35:53 PM

Its very cool i just watched the youtube vid and read some of the document.  Why dont they just work on the bitcoin blockchain with the already working network humanity has provided.  Why are they concerned about making making their own i wonder hmm.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 18, 2016, 11:29:09 PM
Probably Swansea will make another goal before the full time.

So I think game will end as 2-0

Game over final score 1 - 0 Victory for those of you who bet on under 2.5 goals
Good results for swansea city and go away from relegation

Dam Swansea decided to show up and play for once.  It was a tight game both teams not very good right now.  Under 2.5 goals was a great shout.
225  Economy / Economics / Re: 5 Big Questions for Bitcoin Growth in 2016 on: January 18, 2016, 08:08:15 PM
1. How will scalability be solved?

The growth in bitcoin transaction volumes shows no sign of abating, and yet the 1MB block data limit is no closer to being raised than it was six months ago. Whether and how it is raised (via hard fork or changes to Bitcoin Core) will have lasting repercussions, and changing one of bitcoin's fundamental rules will have unintended, unpredicted and perhaps negative consequences.
One of bitcoin's earliest contributors has now written off bitcoin as a failed experiment .

2. Will reward halving affect price?

Assuming that cooler heads prevail with the block-size debate, and a consensus on scalability is reached before the technology and its network fractures (a big assumption, to be sure), it will be fun to watch what happens to the bitcoin price and mining incentives over the next several months.
For the second time since bitcoin was released into the wild, the bitcoin mining reward subsidy is scheduled to halve – around July 2016, from 25 BTC to 12.5 BTC per block. Other things equal, this should result in some combination of smaller miners dropping out of the market, a rally in the bitcoin price, the curbing of mining difficulty increases, and greater interest from miners in allowing bitcoin transaction fees to rise.

But if the price goes up the smaller miners stay in, i think the price will just go up and everyone will keep mining. What else aare you going to do, you spent money on equipment and time learning about bitcoin and you likely want to support the network. 95% chance it causes a bubble.
226  Economy / Gambling / Re: Battlecoin.org - Multiplayer bomberman clone on: January 18, 2016, 07:58:57 PM
Wow this gambling game is very fun. Much better then dice, and it's skill based too! I would like to see more skill based gambling games in the future/

Yeah its good stuff we need more gambling options this good for sure.  Just checked in a minute ago and the site has some great improvements and graphics.  Would like to see a slight improvement in gameplay but sure it will come Smiley
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 18, 2016, 07:54:32 PM

For the swaners vs the whatters im going with a watford win.  Swansea are going down and they just sold one of their best players to someone in the relation zone how does that make any sense?
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Paul Vernon take a lie detector test? on: January 18, 2016, 07:51:54 PM
The hack story may be or not be true but... What has that to do with cryptsy closing and leaving a lot of people without their funds? I mean, The hack/theft of sometime ago cannot be used as an excuse to leave people without their money now. If you are stolen is you (the owner of the exchange) who has to accept the loses as it is you (and not the end user) who got stolen.

It is curious they could have stayed open and started using running profit to pay people back, maybe they wouldn't be able to do this totally but it would be a start. Its 10k coins not 600k.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should Paul Vernon take a lie detector test? on: January 18, 2016, 06:48:16 PM
If Paul Vernon took a lie detector test and it indicated he was telling the truth, would you be willing to forgive him and trust what he says again? I think if Vern is going to sell Cryptsy or continue to run it he should take a lie detector test. But only regarding the theft.

I dont think we would see this happen, its lose lose for him really.  The only way he can win is if he is telling the truth and he wants to get serious threats from people off his back.  We saw with mtgox mark k was safe really.

even though Im a manchester united's fans but Im guessing this could be another boring match with both team trying to score but waste alot of opportunity or there could be a twist with rooney scoring again. He had not score for months and yet he came back in 2016 with 3 goals so far

I don't think it will be a boring match, i think this match will have many goals. that's why i pick over 2.5 goals and both teams to score on this match.

You need to think based on statistic and not your feelings. The only reason people like to play in sportsbetting is because they can analyze it from some statistic and it is not just a pure luck, if you are guessing it through a pure luck then you have much more fun by playing in a pure luck based game like dice

Yeah i think this is called sharp and square betting differences.  I know i only bet for fun though on football and i have heard some people can beat the game based on knowledge without in depth market analysis, not sure how true that is.

Some people got some knowledge based on statistics and news regarding the starting lineup of the team, with this the person could bet earlier than the others and got better odds than most of the people so it is not really a random bet based on luck to try to win the high odds bet or some other thing like that

Some people have gone to the live events before and made use of being the first person to know something has happened in live betting.  I know some people got banned on betfair for doing this.  I have often thought about sending someone to a game and having them on a phoneline telling me when to bet.

People has done this for years and some has made huge advantage from doing so however there are always other method apart from this one. Some people has inside knowledge about what will be going on , like the lineups for the team even before it is announced so the person could prepare for the worst if the team decided to use reserve player

Yeah but it gets harder to know inside knowledge if the sports match is well known about, usually anyway. Things like EPL being rigged is probably impossible, but i agree some people might have inside info on which players play.  They have to be a key player though for it to make a difference.

236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Double Top Trend Reversal on: January 14, 2016, 10:09:25 AM
Double top trend reversal or Not, we are going to go down hard. I expect sub-400 in the next few days. Short it, short it, short it!!!

Its already gone down hard and you want to short it? would have been way better to short when we were at $450 and not moving higher.  Now is the time to get back in.  Also its down moon everyone knew we'd see a little dip.
237  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Warren Buffet buying bitcoin? on: January 14, 2016, 09:46:27 AM
Your answer please

Of course all these guys are buying up coin, at least all the ones with half a brain are.  If something shows some promise its wise to diversify and have an investment in it. Bitcoin has shown promise quite clearly, its not going to hurt him to chuck in a mil or so and if it goes wrong no big deal.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 14, 2016, 09:43:51 AM
Anyone wants to have a bet if Leicester will be the leader of BPL soon?  Grin Jokes aside I don't have the slightest clue who will be the winner this season everyone is so inconsistent.

I'd love to see leicester win the league but i really hope they can make it to a champions league spot it would be the best achievement of any team this season id so.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: January 13, 2016, 05:01:22 PM
I'm going with

Tottenham vs Leicester - home win
Liverpool vs Arsenal - away win
Man City vs Everton - home win
Southampton vs Watford Away win
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Paid to gamble on: January 13, 2016, 11:36:45 AM
If there's no risk, it doesn't seem like gambling to me. Just another game.

The risk is you waste your time and life is finite.  You either waste time because you dont make any profit or you waste time because you could have found more entertainment elsewhere.
You're not risking to lose your life though, lol.

Nope you have 70 whatever years on average if you are lucky so you only lose your life if you spend your whole time grinding faucets haha.  People only waste their time for so long and then reality sets in and they have to change tactics.

I'm not that certain that even faucet grinders will be interested in this one, atleast not for long because 80-ish satoshi per claim is much lower than dice sites
offer to people at most basic levels.
If they would make an android app, on the other hand, there's a chance people would use it when bored, but even that is a stretch claim. Guess time will tell tho..

Faucet grinders are stuck in some mental pattern where they want to find a way to make easy money for not much thought and without leaving the house.  Its a worthy goal but even if successful for a period you'd probably have to adapt very soon after since sites will catch on.
