222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Truth About Monero's Risto Pietila (rpietila XMR) on: November 22, 2016, 04:06:11 AM
Risto buys over 200,000 XMR. Now he intends to pump n dump again with same tactic. He tells everyone it will rise 1000x (netting him ~350 Million dollars if that were to become true  Roll Eyes  )

Pump and dump again??
Do you really believe Risto caused Bitcoin to go up? Monero?

Lot's more people that Risto saw the potential of Bitcoin and Monero (wasn't Gavin Anderson one?)

Seems to me he had a view, voiced it and was right about the timing and the direction... twice.
If you'd followed his advice on timing and direction you would have done very well. Price targets are known to be harder to calculate, so all in all it has been good advice.

Risto...if you are reading this I'd love to know if you ever have another trading idea. I won't blame you if it doesn't work, but I'd love to know.
You are welcome to PM me if you like. Smiley

Me too, I  would love a hot tip

224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][KMD][dPoW] Komodo ICO - Zcash Zero Knowledge Privacy Secured by Bitcoin on: November 21, 2016, 01:43:41 AM
P-Trump runs for KMD node election!

I have been accumulating BTCD since 2014, my bags are full.

On present ICO numbers I am guaranteed one of the 64 notary nodes with my vote alone.

I am looking for an experienced and qualified person to setup and maintain a top quality node that meets all jl777's node specifications.

My guarantee to you 'I will never sell down my KMD, I will have sufficient KMD to get elected forever'

Your guarantee to me 'You will run a high quality node with above average reliability forever'

You will manage and pay for the node, and in return you will get 50% of the profits from the node, forever!

My offer is conditional on me winning a node, which is only guaranteed if there are 64 nodes, and on your ability to prove you can run and pay for a full spec node now.

I will try and verify your claim with jl777 and/or other Komodo organisers before we sign any agreements. By that time you will know I have sufficient KMD to have been elected

If there are less than 64 notary nodes at launch I may not win. If this happens I will keep my powder dry until there is an election for a full compliment of 64 notary nodes. Then I will win a node.

If you're interested please reply here. This is not a first-in-best-dressed offer, so take your time to think this offer through. I'm looking for the best candidate I can find who wants to run a notary node for a long time.

I ended up with 2.69M KMD (i.e. 2.69% of the vote)

I've had a few enquiries so far.

Now that the ICO is over attention should turn towards the coming election.

At one extreme there are tech guys with skills & time to run nodes, but not enough KMD/votes to elect themselves

At the other end there are guys with enough KMD/votes to elect themselves, but not enough time & skills to run a node

Some testnet node operators will have sufficient KMD/votes to elect themselves - my offer is obviously not of interest to you

Some testnet node operators will have arrangements with other large holders now - my offer is probably not of interest to you now (but maybe later)

Some testnet node operators will not have sufficient KMD/votes to elect themselves AND they don't have a current arrangement with another large holder - my offer should be of interest to you!

To those people running testnet notary nodes I will point out the obvious - If you don't get elected, you wont be running a notary node!

I'm looking for a long-term 'set and forget' arrangement. Assuming a standard first-past-the-post voting system, my KMD/vote quota should be enough to guarantee ~1.5 notary nodes ... Forever!

I accumulated BTCD since 2014 in the hope of securing a hassle free income stream for many years, I'm planning to hodl my KMD for many many years.

If you want a hassle free income stream for many many years too, but you're not 100% sure that you'll get elected, and KEEP getting elected, then my offer might be worth considering.

If I can't come to a mutually beneficial long-term relationship then I'll bite the bullet and pay someone to setup and manage a node for me, and I'll keep 100% of the profits.

BUT, I'd be happy with 50% of the profits if I didn't have to worry about ANYTHING.

I do really want a set and FORGET arrangement, and I'm prepared to pay 50% of the profits from running a notary node to get it.

How often will the elections happen? You might be waiting for a few terms for the kmd distribution to spread thin, but eventually 1/64 of the vote will be hard to come by for an individual. I wonder if these elections might induce node 'parties' and coalitions to form with platforms and policies. Watching with interest!

Sound money and religious implications has been a personal project of mine, within cryptocurrency.  Did you know there has been fatwas and declaration of haram against Bitcoin?  It usually comes down to easy replication, as there are 1000s of QT-shitcoin clones, and Bitcoin's inflation.   When we seriously evaluate the state of cryptocurrency, what projects do not have inflation?  10-second tangent and then back to the topic, why we are all suckers in hopping onto these inflationary platforms?  Inflation is a tax on the non-rich.  The religions of the book, including Islam and Christianity (although not many follow the principles anymore), knew inflation was a scam.

I had been collecting empirical evidence on NEM users and NEM userbase does have a lot of Muslims.  There were many swarming the Facebook pages back in 2014 and 2015.  Today, the most NEM-users per capita are based out of Malaysia.  Malaysia is actually the leader of Islamic Finance.
http://theconversation.com/islamic-finance-goes-global-but-malaysia-still-leads-the-way-27347
It is not a coincidence, because NEM is the only halal cryptocurrency.

Does NEM promote itself as a halal or Muslim coin?  Definitely not.  And I would say it goes both ways too.  The many Muslim users in NEM do not proselytize about Islamic principles.  Nevertheless, at some point, I would like to get affirmations of support from religious leaders in Malaysia.   Smiley

228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: November 19, 2016, 09:51:42 AM

You say we bought a piece of software and nothing more. Well then, as responsible vendors of code you have a duty to make sure your customers are easily able to access the thing they purchased. Since the majority have still not managed it and cannot access their assets I think it is fair to say you will not have discharged your obligation until that majority has been catered for.

Please make the light wallet and a simplified claim process more of a priority. We bought what we thought were liquid assets over a year ago, it is getting very frustrating waiting and it is hard to maintain enthusiasm while things feel stale.

People like you will never cease to amaze me, GUI was never even remotely part of the software we sold. "We bought what we thought were liquid assets" even though we specified that IOTA was software and NOT assets/investment/shares/anything equivalent? Even though we bluntly told speculators to literally FUCK OFF?

Explain yourself, what have you done for the IOTA ecosystem? Let me guess: nada.

What have you done for the Iota ecosystem? Explain yourself. I'd like to see a list. What exchanges accept Iota, what companies use Iota, what People even use Iota?  Let me guess: nada

Quite right Zanzibar!!!

IOTA has done nothing but waste A LOT of my time so far. I have not made a penny of profit, I cannot access my coins and I have donated 20% of them to help provide resources to the project, then I'm told to FUCK OFF when I ask about (essential) progress a year after 'buying a share of the software' and try to make you see that the GUI is vital before exchanges. The arrogance and rudeness are staggering.

You openly sold to the PUBLIC (not just devs). It is beyond naive and childish to keep whinging that you don't like speculators. Every single person who bought in, dev or not, was speculating on the future value. I don't care that you don't like me. I am not JUST a speculator. People are not one-dimensional. Your bizarre and rather stupid elitism based on skill sets that you value has hampered this project and the community development. You're living in the real world, so deal with it like a man instead of throwing tantrums because you don't like reality. You sold software in shares... that means we all have to be able to access our shares/assets, despite our skill sets. I didn't buy the whole IOTA package myself, I bought a share of the asset value.

What have I done for IOTA? Not much, except help fund it and spread the word a little. I started helping with editing some text for a few pages of one of the support websites, but I was turned off the idea reading more of your acerbic comments made to me and in response to other reasonable questions.

What have you done for me? Well sweet fuck all so far. The price is plummeting, I can't access my coins. I'm out of pocket and may well see nothing for my support of your project. At this point you are still indebted to me, not the other way around. I have given both time and money and received nothing. Of course a GUI is a necessary part of the sale. You sold to the PUBLIC, so you cannot reasonably expect them to go through an overly complicated claiming process in order to access the value you sold to them. Launching on exchanges before everyone has easy access is inviting trouble.

I tell you what David, there were other things I could have done to help on the marketing side of things with IOTA. I really don't want to any more though. My own finical interest isn't the only driver for me. I work towards things I want to happen and things I value, in communities that I respect and feel part of. You can't simply provide an economic incentive and expect a community to grow around it. That's not how bitcoin or Eth or any other major coin got where they are. They inspired their communities and took advantage of a wide range of skill sets to push the agenda of their project. This project seems destined to belong to a clique of devs who get nowhere because they can't appreciate the difference between intelligence and wisdom.

If anyone is interested I'm selling my seeds at a knock down price.

I've wasted enough time here in the last year, it'll prob work out as Mcdonalds wages per hour, yay lucky me :/

I would like to buy your seed, please
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Bitmark on: November 19, 2016, 07:03:57 AM
Might be time to change the name of this coin, there's a new project using 'Bitmark'

http://www.coindesk.com/blockchain-startup-bitmark-funding/

BTM is too closely linked to the scam developer Nathan Rixham anyway. A new name might finally cleanse this project of his presence.

Perhaps it's time to assert that this coin has been using the name bitmark in relation to block chain technologies first. Perhaps Moss-Pultz and his Taiwanese partners have developed interesting technology, perhaps not. But there is no doubt, and this can be proven easily, that this Bitmark predates the use of the bitmark in relation to marking, a very broad certification and notarization application. Shortly before Bitmark started, Moss-Pultz was using the bitmark.com site (which had been registered in the late 1990's) first for web site hosting and then for coffee mugs and other memoriabilia ... nothing at all related to cryptography nor digital property systems nor blockchain marking technology.
https://web.archive.org/web/20111228191054/http://www.bitmark.com/
He then seems to have had a better idea and refocused as intelligencia.io
https://web.archive.org/web/20140516231923/http://bitmarq.com/
https://web.archive.org/web/20140813182641/https://intelligencia.io/

Then, around the time the bitmark cryptocurrency marking project was announced here on bitcointalk.org, the bitmark.com site starts showing a plain "philosophical" page, with quotes from Plato and Aristotle:
https://web.archive.org/web/20140516235934/http://bitmark.com/

It's not until 2015 that anything related to blockchain technology / marking / digital property registration & notarization appears:
https://web.archive.org/web/20150801012258/https://bitmark.com/

So it's clear the group here is first; that said, it's worth listening to what the community here thinks, in regards to rebranding / renaming the project - (rather than asserting our right to the BITMARK name in relation to blockchain cryptocurrency marking, property and digital notarization technologies )

All good points, but a new name does create a new beginning free from association with nathan rixham.

What about 'ByteMark'?

I came to same conclusion as @NASdaq when I looked into Coinomat assets. If you didn't swap coinomat assets during the waves ico the future is unknown,  first info from sasha said assets would migrate to waves, then he said coinomat business would be sold, later changed to coinomat being converted into a waves gateway. Who knows what will happen to coinomat. As for cryptoindex and cryptocard, are they even included in coinomat or separate projects, I could not find any post from sasha mentioning those assets since waves was first announced.

Some might have read my recent post history, including how I was threatened with medical incarceration in Finland, and escaped with my life, leaving everything behind. The actions were definitely dramatic, but the effect sounds more dramatic than it is: I had lived in Estonia all the time, and in fact I only stayed in Finland about 28 hours, but that was the last 28 hours of Finland for a long long time.

I have ceased comparing Finland to Soviet Union, because in the latter, the people at least were still able to understand they were being lied to, in Finland this faculty is blotted out from the collective understanding of the people, they being unable to even consider the extent of the official lie.

I have ceased comparing Finland to North Korea, because - let's face it - our information about North Korea solely comes from the same source that is hailing Finland as the best country in the world. With the experience from 35 countries, I cannot immediately recall a more Orwellian place to live than Finland. So by logic, it is at least possible that they have lied about North Korea as well. (Few people, even now, years after the event, comprehend the extent of their lie about Libya and Col. Gaddafi.)

The loss of my family is a shock in the short term, but in the long term it is very good for CK, the other projects, and freedom in general. I won't be having family troubles until:
a) Finland is free, or
b) I die fighting.

And I have all the intention to liberate Finland (Tavastia), and none of the intention to die. Unless the enemy accomplishes the latter, I will accomplish the former. Not alone, of course, but you get the point.

This creates a tremendous opportunity even for those who estimate my chances of winning to be slim. Per the standard EV theory, the payout in the winning scenario just has to be correspondingly higher, and in CK and MKA it definitely is!

Is there any agenda for senate today?

Get the trump hairdo bro ... Make Finland Great Again
235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 06, 2016, 11:31:23 PM
im involved in many cryptocoin projects and i would love take part on byteball too

just all my value is in altcoin not in bitcoins

wouldnt it be fair and also attract a lot of the more open mindet non pure bitcoin crowd

if u also share bytes towards owners of altcoins

as long as they are traded on a exchange vs btc its easy to find out their BTC value and reward the with correct amount of bytes

also it help ya to attract many more people

i think the average altcoin investor is way deeper educated about blockchains than the pure bitcoin investor

its a crucial skill in altcoin ecosystem that u understand a bit mpre about blockchain technology else u would burn yourself at most invests

A weighted index of top 20 from CMC would be relatively easy to calculate, so btc would still be dominant, but it would let alt holders participate without having to sell and risk buy back

Edit: I think this could be Byteball Classic

How 30,000 btc rise so far ?

Checking the thread 10-20 times a day, quite frustrated to see you guys doing nothing with the feeding. Just change the cap to 4k, or 3 if you want. Get that shut. Would love to see 10k raised, but lets be more realistic, every 2-3 hours some account comes up with "why you want 30,000 BTC" question. Do 3k, see how soon it'll fill up.

And then everyone knows details can be changed, so 10% dev amount might be changed to 20%, or btcd swap rate might be cut by 50% ... can't change things now, and it's just a maximum. 5k looks very unlikely to me,
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage on: November 02, 2016, 12:40:29 AM
WOW!!! This coin cannot stop falling. It is going to be a really long term vision at this rate. Especially if it hits 1 sat.

BTC and ZEC are providing Sia investors with the best buying opportunity in five months.  I'll be buying all the way down to one sat Grin

That's what PPL always say when the asset their emotional abt starts going down. PPl said that about gold and silver too until they needed the money and liquidated at the bottom or had no money left. Luckily this cant be bought on margin.

Sure, I can't disagree with those statements one bit.  I'm also a huge au_ag dude as well.  Being a conscious investor though, I have the wherewithal to properly manage my risk when investing and not make delusional decisions which leave me liquidating my assets at a loss (i.e. not buying high and selling low).  This is one coin that I don't mind seeing go down in price because I'm aware of the potential and know where it's ultimately headed.

The sia devs are hard working, dedicated and active, which can't be said for all that many coins.  This is an organic project and people will take notice sooner or later.  Let's see where we are in a year, partner.

p.s. Please spare me the part about a year in crypto being an eternity as well.  SIA is an investment, not a lottery ticket

I agree.
I spare nothing. I spew Truth, fact, and unbiased observation as I think I see it.
1 yr is a lot in crypto but small in the world of investing (But pl say don't look at crypto as a Investment but as a short term play, I disagree). But I must say I am amazed how low it has gotten despite the potential and development I see with this coin.
Maybe it's a advertising/communication fault. Or was maidsafe  first on the seen and they stole the show? I believe in SIA just like with OKCASH, because of continuous innovation and original long term dev and support team.

Crypto markets are dysfunctional,  price discovery just doesn't happen reliably which means there's a huge advantage to investors who take the time to really study all these alts and assets. Most crypto types don't even bother with details, so they're the people subsidising the guys with a work ethic solid enough to read 6-8 hours a day. This situation wont last forever, so enjoy it while you can. When the crypto market starts operating 'normally' the era of massive x20 gains will be over.
