221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] $XQN Quotient Financial Network | PoW Scrypt, PoS Blake-256 | High PoS on: December 12, 2014, 06:58:35 AM
Meanwhile, coin is falling into nothingness. No buy support whatsoever.

There was never any large buy support, and most (but not all) buys have eaten straight off the ask side. The value right now is higher than 2 weeks ago, with some ups and downs along the way, as is to be expected. Meanwhile, anyone that is staking, has generally increased their position in terms of absolute number of coins. What the hell are you even talking about?

What's important, is to see development moving ahead. I think that with the XAI crowd funding taking up some of Cedric's time as well, it's only natural that it will be a couple of days before we have an update, perhaps only after the crowd funding is closed. There's also something about people eating turkey and going on a shopping spree, but I suppose that's not for everyone  Grin

big holder need to dump their staking, to cover daily cost, or to buy beer  Grin

I do agree that we need to stop and dump a bit, but that must be at support level, so that we don't dump completely to the new floor!
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance | HP14 released! on: December 12, 2014, 06:47:24 AM
hands of the public, prices should stabilize. It may take a few days

It will be interesting. I'm gonna say either way up or we're going back down to 30k. This can't stay stable for too long.
223  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: what is worth mining still? on: December 12, 2014, 06:29:34 AM
Bitcoin mining is extremely resource hungry and requires the use of increasingly powerful computational systems to maintain it's network. Based on my experiences, you will gain more bitcoin by trading than mining
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][RZR] Razor - Cutting Edge of Technology ☆[TOR]☆ [No Premine] on: December 12, 2014, 06:20:20 AM

225  Economy / Speculation / Re: Whats causing the sudden fast price rise? on: December 12, 2014, 03:46:13 AM
microsoft news caused a temporary fast rise yesterday. a fast rise will again create a lot of selling pressure from miners. the faster we rise, the deeper we fall, volatility remains an issue... i'd just like to see a slower climb
226  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: standard hardware vs asic - what do you use for mining? on: December 12, 2014, 03:21:30 AM
Hi ,

I am new to the forum and not familiar with the current ratio of standard vs asic and the latest trends.

In the early days miners could use CPUs only for crunching.
Then miners started using GPU cards.
Currently there is use of ASIC boards.

A questions for all miners -
What type of hardware do you use - standard CPU/GPU or asic boards?

Thanks, Paul.

There is no reason for anyone to still mine with CPU/GPU. I am very close to shut down my first asic boards because they cost more power to run than what bitcoins they generate. So ASIC is the way to go.

yeah but the asic will be worth peanuts in a couple months, at least gpu's hold their value and there's always coins minable with GPU's coming out that are more profitable
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Going to $500 soon on: December 11, 2014, 07:36:58 PM
I think we're still in downtrend, whales will keep playing this game untill either they are sold out or we have finally gained enough confindence to get through 400usd and then go to 500usd in 2015

I'm not getting any confirmation withdrawal emails from BTC-e. I also check spam folder but nothing, I've used BTC-e for a long time and it seems that withdrawal email confirmations are down or something... Sad

EDIT:
Finally the confirmation email arrived, just a little bit late
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Dogecoin Is Going To The Moon: on: December 11, 2014, 07:05:37 PM
I guess you're right, I think both BTC and DOGE are going to the moon, it's just a matter of pace. The past says btc will gain quicker at first but I just dont feel strongly it will happen the same way, feeling it out for now

Yeah... History shows BTC ought to gain faster initially. I'm thinking this time will be no different. DOGE has hung tough the last few days. I thought it would cave in, but it was strong.

231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Bitcoin price are dropping? on: December 06, 2014, 03:50:34 PM
price is dropping because number of daily transactions are decreasing  Wink

nope, daily transactions are increasing. I think the price is steered by miners at this moment creating downward pressure, too many big miners stepped up pushing difficulty up and cashing out too fast for the market to adjust
232  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: is bitcoin having real value? on: December 06, 2014, 03:38:25 PM
Yes you have value because

1) There is people willing to pay for it
......

yeah... BTC has somehow connected itself to commodity values, once the Bit License is functional, hedge fund money will flow into
crypto, Happy Holidays.
233  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arbitrage, pros and cons, experience and profitability on: December 06, 2014, 03:32:38 PM
....
Only way to make money in Bitcoin in the short term is by trading it. Mining is not profitable and neither is buying 1 BTC and hoping and praying to the Gods that it goes to $100,000 one day.

That's right, trading is the fastest way to make money in bitcoin, any guy with a lot of money would be able to create a smart bot to spread his sellings and therefore make even more money
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are the whales getting beaten? on: December 06, 2014, 03:15:25 PM
It seems like there are either fewer dumping whales right now or that they are not able to manipulate the market like they used to. Which is it?

It is that the weak hands have all gone and the whales cant start a sell off because there are few willing to sell?

Weak hand whale already sold everything, what is left is giant miners..

I understand very well how some big btc owners work, it's just simply a misunderstanding that all big dumps are whales. Sometimes, price dumps simply because somebody sold a bunch of BTC.

Maybe the owner wanted to raise some cash to buy a car or put a downpayment on a house. No diabolic master plan. Just a sale.
235  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How Bitcoin will die on: December 06, 2014, 09:34:44 AM
lol... every day I see someone saying bitcoin is dead.. lets not forget how much btc was 2 years ago. I remember the days when btc dropped below $300 and everyone was saying BTC is dead. sell your bags... i'm glad i did not listen.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if .. on: December 06, 2014, 09:26:50 AM
Chinese whales are pumping the price to create a 'fake' pump so the media will notice and take over the pump.
its happening?
2k soonish ?

It's awalys in their interest to create panic and drop the price...to scoop up more coins when others panic and sell ...he can buy back cheaper. Price goes up = Cash accumulation, Price goes down = coin accumulation.
237  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binary Options Bitcoin Trading with TradeRush on: December 06, 2014, 09:20:56 AM
are binary options any good nowadays? seems like gambling instead of trading. And we all don't want to gamble
238  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: bitcoin difficulty + btc price on: December 06, 2014, 09:18:01 AM
When BTC got ASICs, it was a matter of "go pro or get out". Huge amounts of cash went into making and buying them and that affected the price
239  Economy / Speculation / Re: Interest in Bitcoin is declining on: December 04, 2014, 03:28:27 PM
Adoption is increasing day by day, I wouldn't tell the interest is declining.

Agreed, the adoption of bitcoin is increasing a lot, we only need the government to make this works! We have built the bridge to cross the chasm, now we need the pass from the government...
240  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 04, 2014, 03:23:31 PM
If we are below 350 on friday, all the coins bought on coinbase from 350 whale may get dumped... get ready, we're going down
