221  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [ANN] 1miau BBCode table formatting discussion service on: April 10, 2024, 06:40:02 PM
Nice of you translating this post. 1miau has always been a nice forum contributor especially when it comes to beginner guides. In fact my drive for creating guides like I have done in the past came from him alongside a couple of others nice forum members. Anyways creating tables is something I haven't really made use of in any of my topics it seems kinda bulky when typing it out. However I discovered that if you have a proper knowledge of writing html codes, it would be quite easier for someone to get it. If you notice closely most of the forum tools for post creations are similar to those of html tags.
Anyways, Chilwell do well to review this your translation properly there are a few places you should review the pigin quality. If you want you can pm me so I can let you know. Probably you will spot them yourself if you look closely.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you won a bet with your last cash? on: April 10, 2024, 02:40:02 PM
The pressure is high when you are down to your last bet, that's why most of us losses because we want to get back immediately so we lose our discipline. However, if we will just follow the proper bankroll management, there's a chance that we will be able to recover because in gambling, losing streak and winning streak are just normal, and we should always be ready when that time comes.

Exactly. As a responsible gambler you should be able to know when you are on a consecutive winning streak or losing streak and therefore consequently , you should also know when to stop gambling or staking. Sometimes, irresponsible gambling if fueled by the inability of the gambler in question being unable to manage and control his emotions. Sometimes they end up staking over and over again because of their previous loss trying to get back the funds that they lost. Which is actually a wrong move. Sometimes they eventually continue losing and fail to realize it until they have already lost so much.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 10, 2024, 02:33:26 PM
Being a responsible gambler is a very important thing to achieve in order to prevent certain odd things from happening to you. To become a responsible gambler one simply has to take full responsibility and make sure to avoid bad habits by setting certain boundaries and probably self based disciplinary rules. To keep your gambling activities on a responsible trail you need to be able to manage wins and losses. it is also very important that you are able to manage the amount of money you spend on stakes and also importantly the time you spend carrying out gambling activities.
Many gamblers are of the opinion that gambling is a fun based activity therefore as a responsible gambler you should be able to allocate the right and proper priority to such activity.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: April 10, 2024, 01:01:37 PM
Op , in my opinion I think your post isn't very discreet in it's idea or info. This is because investment making is totally different from making a deposit. If as a gambler you move some crypto or fiat to your gambling account or casino account , you should not consider such funds or coins as an investment. This is mainly because that amount was moved there with the motive of spending it probably on bets and stakes.
A real casino investment on the other hand should be something like buying shares or stocks from the casino company of which dividend in form of a sort of passive income is generated via your investment as long as the casino continues to progress and make profit. A non gambling addict should not view gambling deposits as an investment to prevent consecutively losses and even costly mistakes.
225  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stopping the curse of losing streak? on: April 10, 2024, 12:53:06 PM
Losing is something that no one is ever happy about weather gambler or non gambler. Sometimes it is just because luck is not on our side and nothing more. If you feel like you are losing too much you could probably take a break or possibly reduce the amount you stake to help also reduce the amount you tend to lose if you eventually lost the stake or bet.
As a responsible gambler it is very important for you to be able to know how to manage your gambling wins and losses especially in cases like this. And addict or someone who is probably not very observant may fail to notice that he is losing more frequently and thus should try to manage it properly.

Well spotted, it's a Merit record day for me today. Yaay.  Cheesy
But 7777 Merit will be much more difficult because currently, I'm not very active. Maybe 7000 is an achievable number in the near future.
So, I'm very grateful for your congratulations and most likely you'll reach 1k Merit before I'm reaching 7k Merit. 500 more to got for you and I believe you almost got 250 Merit already when I've noticed your quality posts in Beginners and Help.  Wink
I will always try my best to contribute quality as always   Grin
1k is quite a long journey anyways as I will definitely need to contribute more quality to achieve that.

228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Bitcoin the best asset for investment currently? on: April 09, 2024, 02:31:26 PM
In my opinion, the biggest added advantage Bitcoin has over many other investment options is both decentralization and ease. Real estate, stock and all other investment options are also very nice investment options but the problem is the fact that you need to understand how to maintain and properly manage them in order to prevent you from making losses instead of profits.
However Bitcoin on the other hand has a very easy option for investment which is actually being a long term holder. As a long term holder all you have to do is to make sure you understand how to keep your keys and coins safe then you are good to go. You don't actually require a lot of understanding and learning to do before you can invest in Bitcoin unlike other investment options.

231  Other / Meta / Re: Is gambling problem or anything related to addiction is an off-topic? on: April 07, 2024, 06:41:04 PM
Anything like a topic, game or something in general related to gambling is supposed to be a thread in the gambling board. If a post can't fit in any board based on its context and content, then it's suitable for the off topic board.
However I personally have noticed that it seems the moderators have taken their job more seriously probably they were initially ignoring such posts before but currently they aren't. The gambling board has a lot of repeated topics and discussions but I guess it's what's keeping it flowing. Moderators are probably creating this notion that posts In the gambling board should be more creative else they would simply be moved to the off topic section.

234  Other / Beginners & Help / Understanding bull and halving. on: April 07, 2024, 05:11:09 AM
Of course it's the bull season and definitely every Bitcoiners is quite excited about it. Now what really is Bitcoin bull about? A few persons may not get the full idea about it , while some others have the idea that Bitcoin price increases. However there may be a few unanswered questions like
How does the bull make Bitcoin price increase?
How often does the bull occur?
What is it's importance? And lots more.

These questions can be easily answered with a good understanding about  certain Bitcoin basics. To proceed let's start with ;

BITCOIN MINING

How are new Bitcoins created?
This may seem  a little complex to a newbie however it's quite understandable. Now here is how it works ;

The Bitcoin network uses a protocol based on proof of work (POW). In other words, Miners use a series of  hash function, a recipe to produce a fixed length output from arbitrary input data with the property that any small input data change yields a completely unpredictable large change in output.This is conducted on the Bitcoin network from time to time by the use of hashing devices. These devices are built with specialized integrated chips that can only perform one thing very fast and as efficient as currently possible: double SHA-256 hash 80 bytes of data. Those Application Specific Integrated Circuits do just one thing (hashing), but are very fast and efficient. Miners are rewarded with Bitcoins for every complete series of valid hashes they determine during hashing.
The goal of miners during the hashing process is to find hashes that meet a particular criteria. Once found, they are broadcasted to the network and then added to the next block. During the Bitcoin mining process miners are able to also confirm transactions by adding them to the next block. In order to make an efficient mining process, miners make use of ASICs as opposed to regular computers  based on their efficiency in completing a single task compared to regular computers. These ASICs apply hashes repeatedly to the block header including the previous block header. The previous block header carries data  like hash, transaction data and nonce.

Now how does the Bitcoin mining process relate to the bull season?

BITCOIN SUPPLY

Now , although Bitcoin uses a proof of work protocol in creating new coins and also adding to the circulation, Mining new Bitcoin  is not unlimited or infinite. Now this is because the total amount of Bitcoins that can ever be mined and also circulated is 21 million. Currently, over 19.7 million which is about 93.8% of the total supply has been mined.
You may probably ask, why is the Bitcoin supply limited and why has so much of it been mined so quickly already?

Well to answer these we have to take a tour about another important Bitcoin event known as ;

BITCOIN HALVING

This is the process where the bitcoin POW reward is cut in half. This means that the rewards miners get when they successfully meet the hashing criteria for mining is cut in half. This helps to slow down the rate at which  new coins are pumped into circulation. Although Alot of Bitcoins have been mined , the rate at which new coins are pumped into circulation, slows down exponentially after every halving event also making sure the total supply isn't mined too soon. Bitcoin halving occurs after the successive mining of 210,000 blocks which takes about four years. The Bitcoin halving protocol is more like an added safe guard to Bitcoin price. As simple economics evaluates that with exponentially increasing supply leads to drop in value and thus leading to inflation. Below is a table showing some important halving information.

1miau post on 100 days to halving

Now in summary, the answer to the big question is ; the biggest bull Bitcoin experiences is during the halving period where the amount of coins pumped into circulation is halved, causing the value of the circulating supply to rise. Although other market factors also contribute, halving is the main reason for the bull. This is because since  Bitcoins become scarce, the value of circulating ones increase making Bitcoin able to combat inflation.

What makes a post to be quality?
Having distinct and proper information.
Not everyone here is an English speaker so English quality is not a measure for quality posts. I have come across a lot of posts with informal English and still carrying quality.

Also op I don't think broken English exists. Plus if we're were to measure a post quality by English this your post could be rated as a low quality one by a formal English writer based on your grammar and punctuation. Forum members often rate post quality based ease of understanding, information and proper paragraphing. Using proper English is just an added benefit not the main measure of post quality.

It's actually surprise to see this merits number 717, this show how little by follow I am grinding over here.
Congratulations to me, I know is not easy to get to this level even though this seems very minor to some people but I really appreciate myself and to those who kept lifting me. All the way to 800 merits.
Thank you for your support.
Congratulations to you too SmartGold01 on your palindrome record. I look forward to see 777 soon
