Although admittedly there's one threat, and it's if Ripple continues its ascent while Bitcoin falls.

Why would the price of Ripple rise above the price of the minimum Bitcoin transaction fee?
It's an IOU anti-spam token.

Here we go again with ripple on this thread.  XRP is the only thing on the ripple protocol that isn't an IOU.  It is there for anti spam though.
222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stellar is skyrocketing! on: December 19, 2014, 05:04:13 AM
Look here:

http://www.stellarvalue.org/

I have 10,400 Stellar... I paid nothing for them.  And now they are worth over $80 (they are rapidly approaching $0.01 USD each!)

Anyone have any ideas what is causing the sudden meteoric upswing?

I heard its china buying, but they have the giveaway coming soon and they want people to donate soooooo are they manipulating the price?
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I sell ripple for Bitcoin? on: December 19, 2014, 05:00:15 AM

Now that is true.

However, when you work your ass off on auto-bridging, it will speak for itself.

“Ray. People will come, Ray. They'll come to Iowa for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. "Of course, we won't mind if you look around", you'll say, "It's only $20 per person". They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll walk out to the bleachers; sit in shirtsleeves on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the baselines, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll watch the game and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Ray. The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds us of all that once was good and that could be again. Oh...people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.”

I just sold my 6001 (minus the mandatory 20) free STR for 0.205 BTC -> How can they keep up that pump with people like me (or worse, I could have had several giveaway entries, there was no identity check)? Huh

In the meantime, Huobi seemed to gear up for a big dump but still nothing. Undecided

I sold 10000 yesterday.  I guess its China buying?  Jed buying str with all his xrp's. Everyone is going to sell str when they get it for free in the giveaway next month as well.  Idk how its going up.
227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Selling bitcoin for Ripple? on: December 19, 2014, 03:03:03 AM
lol, ripples main focuss for years has been on regulation and compliance. if there is one thing they are strong in then its complying to all legal rules and laws. so there is no way that they will be thrown into jail or something similar.

But XRP could be non-compliant one day in the future.

please do not mention this again until it's too late.  Grin

Yea there will be a flash crash one day lol

But there's blood in the streets with XRP finally lol

to be honest i cant give a decent reply on that as im not smart enough to answer that Smiley

but xrp as its used now by most of us, so like an investment, wasnt ment for this. its just the core of the network. it prevents ddos attacks. so it basically isnt a regular crypto but its ment as an anti spam tool

Also suppose to create more liquidity in the network by auto-bridging a trade that is cheaper if you go from usd-xrp-euro instead of usd-euro if that makes sense?

Also, finally this world is bringing deflationary products to the market by destroying xrp's every transaction.

Also, everyone in the world is looking to get off that USD pegged standard, its not fair.

Also, Ripple Labs has like 21B to help fund operations so the higher the price the longer they last.

230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ripple going to the moon ? on: December 19, 2014, 01:43:38 AM
what if ripple labs and the stellar foundation are talking and are planning on working together...?  ripple could handle the banks while stellar handles the consumers.

would it be possible to do something like cross chaining between the two networks? they are basically the same.

You know better than anyone, Jed isn't working with Chris again.
231  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of me? on: December 19, 2014, 12:16:48 AM
Wow June 2010 all bitcoin earned from hard work.

IMHO selling at 300 is a great success congrats.

I don't see what's wrong with still having fun with bitcoin if it was $10. Just the people trying to get rich quick from this time last year ar :'(e losing.

Im also happy you didn't put your earned coins on Gox.

This can be way worse.

Thank you for everything you have done for this community.

232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ripple price going mad right now? on: December 18, 2014, 04:59:10 PM
2nd wave of profit taking incoming in 3.. 2.. 1..

1.9...1.8...1.7...1.6...1.5...someone is propping up this market with double tops everywhere.
233  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: December 18, 2014, 01:45:27 PM
Ripple will rise to 0.05 usd then they will unleash the last 70 billions coin and the market cap will bump and surpass bitcoin's one.

That's how you trick the game and win. End of story. Sheeps will follow.

Who will buy it up to $0.05 though, Ripple labs adding to their 70 billion lol? Plus the sheep following?  Because the sheep don't have that much powder.

That's it, who in here is still buying xrp?  The price is still skyrocketing this morning.
234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the only one laughing at the butthurt over Ripple? on: December 18, 2014, 12:43:44 PM

You know what i can't wait to see ? All these crying people storming out of Ripple when Ripplelabs will try to sell another 10% of their coins to finance their development.

This will take place soon Cheesy

lol. Naturally  Roll Eyes

It's going to happen.  Ripple Labs + Developers still own well over 90% of the total supply.  There's either going to be dumping from the company or dumping from the employees when the lockout agreements end.  All you need to do to cause a panic, crash and burn in most coins is dump 1%-5% of the supply overnight and that happen anyday with Ripple.

Nah Ripple Labs controls it all, they don't want a source of income to crash.

Once again mods doing a bang up job. Got rid of all the trolls, and now they're working overtime to keep the thread on topic of BTC/USD.

Kind of difficult when the thread admin just became a ripple troll Cheesy
