221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Be careful with people's money on: May 17, 2024, 07:40:32 AM
He just git himself into a debt situation and that's why it's not advisable tonuse people's money to gamble cause you can end up putting yourself in much trouble, I think he needs to get himself some good self control lesson from this, no matter how profitable the option to gamble may seem its always risky and if the opposite happens you would surely regret it. It's also similar to borrowing money to gamble, I also find it quite absurd to do this cause gambling should be out of your disposable income not debt or as an expense.
222  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Concerns grow over online gambling among teens on: May 17, 2024, 07:15:48 AM
That's the bad side of online gambling, you can't really control the users you get, even with the under 18 rule, teenagers can just lie and still get access to gambleing features, I think they have to get more strict and find better ways to keep teenagers off gambling sites, maybe by taking some birth certificate as part of their kyc verification, I think that would reduce the amount if teenagers in online casino.

Actually one thing you should know about Bitcoin investment is that if you should wait till you get the amount of money you want in your bank account before investing you could end up not investing at all because the more you are waiting to get rich first that's actually the more expenses are compounding, although I no that you have your own decision to make but waiting to be completely financially stable could possibly take you a very long time before you can start accumulating Bitcoin.

You don't have to get huge amount of money before you can start investing on Bitcoin, however is not like everyone who are into Bitcoin now have a bank stored with huge amount of money but instead they started from somewhere and before they realize they had already gotten a good amount of Bitcoin on their portfolio, so I would advised you start from little through the use of DCA strategy and with time and consistency you could be surprised with how far you will go on your investment.
Not everyone is blessed enough to have huge amount of money to invest in bitcoin at once, if i am not mistaken majority of the people don’t have that much to invest all at once that’s why the DCA strategy was introduced to so the less privileged can also have the opportunity to invest as well and not miss out. The amount we invest depends on the capability of risk tolerance and not the amount of money we have in our bank accounts. Some might be earning just little and still risk 50% of it into investing in bitcoin while a person who earns more might find it difficult to invest up 10% of their money in bitcoin.

Waiting to accumulate more money to invest is not the best way for me, while trying to save up one might be faced with different financial challenges which might lead to spending part of the money meant for your investment so investing the little you can afford first and topping up whenever you can is the best way to accumulate bitcoin especially for those who don’t have huge amount.

Waiting to have a better financial situation might never work out cause as you try to get more income yoir expenses might also increase along the way, so it best to get started buying bitcoin with how ever little that you can and then you can go about increasing your income to have more disposable income, but the size of our disposable income is not all about Income, although it plays a role, I think having a good cashflow management would be help you create more discretionary income for your self, for instance I could be earning up to 100$ per week and I am able to control my expenses and leave an extra 50$ as a discretionary income while someone earning up to 200$ can not even have that amount after his expenses has been done, and this could be due to having debt or spending too much on other activities or a poor cashflow management. So yeah we should also build ourselves to get better at improving the way we manage our income.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: May 16, 2024, 09:12:21 PM
Right now I'm thinking of placing my bet on Dortmund cause those big odds could end up coming in for me, not like I feel that Dortmund could win either bayern or real Madrid but you know when ever a small team or rather least expected team gets to the final, the fairly tale story would most likely be finished with the taking the lead and winning the Cup, it's not to bad to place a stake in an unexpected event.
225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to keep your money in bank? on: May 16, 2024, 09:05:57 PM
That's so contradictory, centralized exchanges can never be a better option to safe than through self custody, this exchanges are prone to getting hacked or bad ceo or anything that happens to them and all your funds and assets are lost, and worse they don't offer any guarantee if anything happens to their company like in the case of Mt gox and many others that has suffered from the crash of centralized exchanges.
Now that you've mentioned about being bad ceo. It's now a factor nowadays as a way to determine on which exchange you should trade. But if it's about keeping your money in the exchange or the assets that you have in crypto, it's never recommended in doing so. But I know that many of us have been staking and joining those launchpools because of the potential reward that we can get. If you are into it, I'll give you a reminder that you should only do that with an amount that you afford to lose because it's still risky, no matter what you do and whatever the name of the exchange that you're trusting.

No matter what they/we engage in, I would still be wise to involve in those things with little funds that we can afford to lose, not using our entire funds just because 9f promise of profits, in most cases when people get scammed it's mostly a greed function, cause I can't see how people end up in scheme so good to be true that nobody should believe in but they still try anyway.

It's better to keep your asset in your custody, no exchange can be trusted, worst they can even seize your crypto and jts gone, just use then as a means to an end to accumulate bitcoin.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: May 16, 2024, 09:00:40 PM
I think it's a matter of confidence and stability than who should risk more, normally we would favour the rich cause he has more than the poor but some poor or average persons even risk more than the rich, so I think confidence has a role to play to determine how much we are willing to stake in a game.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: May 16, 2024, 09:03:28 AM

Most people in Africa are struggling to own bitcoin, taking risks just to own bitcoin, because if you check the living conditions of masses, you will see the main reason why there is many adoption of bitcoin especially by their young citizens is because bitcoin is hope. Bitcoin has become the shinning light they can look up to for a brighter future and better everything around them, and improve their living conditions. People living below $50 monthly salary are still buying bitcoin and hodling for dear life.
Isn't it better for people like that who have a salary below $50 to collect money first before buying BTC. Or at least it is better to invest in trading with a short term. And if there is more profit from trading can be saved to meet the target, if you feel the target has been reached you will be ready to start long-term investment by buying BTC with the DCA method. Because if you push too hard it will be very risky, better slowly but surely,

Having such low income could become a big hindrance to buying bitcoin especially for older persons with more expenses and even trying to reduce expense to invest might not even be a good idea cause you also need to consider having an emergency fund and the income would not be able to cater for both,
Trading is still not the best option considering the time it would take to learn and master the skill, the best option for such persons would be to find extra sources of Income to be able to buy bitcoin and have more discretionary income to spare to buying bitcoin, why i recommend this is cause its the safest option that doesn't involve having to risk the income you have.

While Im not trying to say that a person earning 50$ weekly cannot invest in bitcoin, the point is that you can't invest in bitcoin or its not advisable to invest in bitcoin if your income is not enough to cater for your expense and emergency funds or savings, the best option would be to increase your income.

Yeah it maybe a big hindrance to someone who earns low but still its good that nothing. They could able to start with small amount they have on hand and its up for them on how they can maximize their bitcoin investment. For sure there would be a lot of ways for low income earning people to get extra funds so they can possibly maximize their bitcoin investment. I know its quiet hard to budget our funds if we have small amount but if a person is dedicated to his visions and have a big dream to get a better life in future for sure he will work to have extra funds to use it for their investments. I don't know what that person think about you quoted above to invest for trading in a while since he just putting you on more more riskier situation. Short term trading will never give any guarantee to earn some extra profit. So what's best for that if you have funds better save it for a while and if you think its enough and you are confident to buy bitcoin for your investment then do it since there's no better option for this since I think this is more better option rather than trying our luck on something that bring us a huge risk.

You can start to invest with bitcoin at any amount you want although it maybe not enough to spend only small amount but if you are consistent with your accumulation for sure those amount you investment will became a huge figure. So its important to have consistency since this could bring good future to anyone.

Yeah you'd right that it's better than nothing but in some cases it's far better to have a good income that is able to cater for your expenses and leave you some discretionary income behind to invest, for someone that is earning or living in a condition that what he has is not even enough to cover up his expenses, he would rather be gambling than investing cause if any emergency were to arise he would have no second thought of selling his bitcoin and with such financial situation he would most likely buy ideas that would give him profits quick than having to wait cause he is already in a state of financial emergency.

I still stand that its far better for such to person to stabilise himself financial before thinking of investing in bitcoin.

229  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 15, 2024, 12:45:44 PM
I'm hardly a favorite slot person but I often see a lot of persons addicted to a particular game in gambling shops and no matter how much they keep on losing they still come back the next day to play again, and i find it ridiculous to continue with something that does not favour you maybe just because you love it. Gamble responsibly, mind addiction and get control over yourself.

A Shanghai man was sentenced to prison for kidnapping his own granddaughter so he could maintain his gambling addiction with the ransom money.

The kidnapping — orchestrated by a 65-year-old man identified only by his surname, Yuan — was first reported by the Shanghai Law and Rule Journal. The legal news outlet didn't specify when the incident occurred but wrote on April 18 that Yuan had just started serving his prison sentence.

Yuan kicked off his plan by picking up his four-year-old granddaughter from her kindergarten and taking her out to eat and shop without her mother's knowledge, the Journal reported.

[2] https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/east-asia/grandpa-in-china-kidnaps-own-granddaughter-demands-ransom-so-he-can-continue-gambling

many gambling addicts have lost their minds because their desire to continue gambling overpowers their common sense, hence the importance of "gambling responsibly"

Quote
There are three licensing objectives which support the whole basis of gambling regulation:

- that crime should be kept out of gambling
- it should be conducted in a fair and open way
- children and other vulnerable persons should be protected from harm or exploitation from gambling.

IMO this man's case Is different and I won't blame any addiction for such low thinking, how would he kidnap his own granddaughter to get ransome to gamble that's the most absurd ive heard of.

Addiction can most times push people to the lowest of character and often make them do the most insane things especially when they let the addiction do the thinking for them. I usually thought drug addiction was the worst but now I know all addiction are the same.
231  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: May 15, 2024, 12:30:14 PM
Hi,

There are always things that we are passionate about doing, such as video games, football, basketball, and sports in general, meaning that everyone has something that excites them and makes them want to do.
Like others, I get very excited when I sit down, take my phone, and start my bets. This does not mean that I am addicted, but rather I find it more comfortable and I have more fun.

Does gambling excites you? What motivates you, winning or just the fun in it ?

While gambling is a fun activity for some and can even add thrill to a mere game played between friends and bring out the best of everyone with a touch of competitiveness, gambling itself might not be very exciting for all IMO  cause it also has a bitter side when your losing and this fun activity can also turn into a destructive habit if not checked and you should be careful about excitement cause that's the road down to addiction in gambling.
232  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does pragmatic play bonus buy really worth it? on: May 15, 2024, 12:29:20 PM
I recently play this provider without the use of VPN on Stake.com that’s why I kinda become addicted on this provider. I frequently purchased bonus buy worth 20$ for a minimum bet but the usual profit I can get is just x2 of my buy bonus while I’m frequently lose my bonus buy.

I’m pondering why many user keep using Pragmatic Play especially the bonus buy feature while it’s expensive and the return is not that high considering the max win is very small compared to other provider like push gaming that offers much higher max win.

I admit that Pragmatic games is really cool to play due to graphics but winning wise, I don’t really like it since there’s no 0.1$ minimum bet.

Your clearly well aware of your addiction and your still doing it, well unless you have some control over your gambling habits you would put yourself in a financial wreak, i dont know about buying bonuses but I think the purpose would be for winning big and not aimlessly losing so much with no control.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling friendly countries on: May 14, 2024, 07:29:01 PM
Very funny question, I wonder who would be interested in this kind of topic, do you plan on relocating cause of tax on gambling  Grin, then you are sure one he'll of a kind gambler, wow very curious now, do you make or live out of gambling ? Are you that good?. But most African countries are tax free on gambling wins, such rules don't apply there.
234  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are the main points of gambling? on: May 14, 2024, 07:26:25 PM
Main points.of gambling and reasons for gambling are different..i think that people do not care about the main points of gambling because to them it is inconsequential. What matters is the reason for gambling which a lot of people do not know. Than that is why we have a lot of people spending money that they cannot afford to lose on gambling. They also go as far as loaning money to gamble and do a whole lot of other stupid s*** just for gambling because they do not know their why for gambling. This leads to an increasing number of gambling addict. People blame casinos and sports betting sites for this reason but it is obvious that a lot of people do not know why they are gambling or should be gambling.

You are right about this, most persons think that they gamble for fun and it's not a habit or they don't do it for the money and give all kind of excuses to gamble but I clearly know its for the money, at least for the poor and average persons, but I do know some rich folks can gamble on their main club just to support or feel the vibe of winning.
235  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How does affilate programs work in casinos? on: May 14, 2024, 10:32:29 AM
Affiliate marketing is quite simple, it's a commission based system them allows you earn after fulfilling a job, why many company uses it is because it helps manage cost and even small starting companies can use it and it would be very beneficial, how does it work?, a company would provide you with an Affiliate link that is unique to a user and after they had introduced it to a person to open an account and deposit they get a commission from it.

Why this strategy is good is cause you can leverage on an Influencer and trusted persons audience to promote your business.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Double your money and quite on: May 12, 2024, 07:39:31 AM
That's a good strategy but I think it requires disciple to follow, but I prefer to have a target when I gamble and once I reach it I quite, I remember a day I got into some real trouble that I needed some cash up to 13k in my local currency, I had no choice than to risk what i had on gambling and it was 1k, so i had to play mobile virtual so many time, I won my first three games and I started losing bit with time I reached my target and got 15k, it was one of the few times gambling saved me.
237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: May 12, 2024, 07:34:27 AM
This is one reason why most people prefer to stay indoors or gamble in private cause most persons view gambling as irresponsible or as a habit of some useless person, but what do I care, i know I'm not useless or irresponsible and I gamble with what you can afford to lose, some persons could decide to use their spare cash on drinking lots of alcohol and others smoking but I use mine to game what's the deal there.
238  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 12, 2024, 07:27:45 AM
Gambling is not a very guaranteed source of income for you to use to double your money, infact i don't know any, yoi sjoudl have started preparing earlier and not now it's so late and urgent and worse of all you could end up losing it all in bets.

Your target is high, I'll advice you split it up into smaller odds and play live matches, you might have a better chance at winning than in casino games or simulation games.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: They put an end to online gambling: what do you think it's going to happen? on: May 12, 2024, 07:16:08 AM
Well OP the whole compliant seems lame to me cause I don't seem to understand how gambling has contributed to the government not giving jobs or any country economic instability or incompetence, IMO gambling in its own way has help some persons to make money cause I know a guy or two that has a side hustle in gambling, they woudl never miss a weekend game for anything, they could spend hours indoors to book a game and most times it works fine for them, so when peopel talk like this I find it sentimental and out of point, gambling can't be the problem of the society, only the government.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What you think about Casinos rewards? on: May 11, 2024, 12:07:11 PM
The current renovation of gambling revolvs around offers and big rewards and that has been what attracts a lot of people to gambling, yeah I think rewards is playing up big role in their business, and has kept a lot of customers, I like to see most casinos as using the devil's strategy, they offer you a lot for your little and yeah you jump in and they eat you up, mehn I love to own a casino someday.
