You're kidding yourself if you think this thing won't look like a rocket launch on good news/solid proof of hashing.

There are 1000BTC between here and .004 - the most that's been between "here" and "there" for a long time (relatively speaking)

We've all seen how quickly those orders can vaporize/move in both directions. Counting on people leaving asks in place is a mistake, particularly as LC actually gave a date & time certain for news delivery for a change. .004(4x IPO) has been resistance thus far because LC has presented a whole lot of words with nothing much to back them. If/when those words get backed by something of even questionable merit many of those asks will disappear or get quickly eaten.

Right, + bitfury for October, possibly avalon G2 for October, hashfast, cointerra, etc...

This has the potential to get ugly in Q4. Rather than risk capital on gear that could be rendered unprofitable within just a few months, we should instead focus our efforts on obtaining hardware that will be hashing long after G1 products are kicked off the blockchain. 25.5 sounds reasonable, but it's .307/Gh of G1 equipment. Bitfury for October delivery is .156/Gh right this second and has an efficiency that will see it hashing even after knc gear is unplugged.

Though the avalon for 25.5 would be hashing for us sooner than the same BTC applied to an additional bitfury order, it still doesn't make sense as our risk of never seeing a positive ROI is far higher with the avalon purchase. Just a few weeks ago this equation would've been completely different.

Cheers.

Creatives, thought you might be interested in this auction: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=292497.0

Thanks guitarplinker, I'll keep an eye on it. That's about the necessary price range at this point. Unfortunately it's in CA, auction/escrow/shipping will take time and difficulty is set to go up a further 27% in 32hrs. I'm hesitant to deploy further funds in G1 hardware with current difficulty projections. In fact I think we should begin looking at a system in which we can liquidate our G1 equipment at a rate similar to our additions of G2 hardware. I've been mulling over the best way to achieve this and will put those thoughts into words in the form of a motion in the near future.

Cheers.

225  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: September 13, 2013, 07:58:30 PM
19 days before their self-imposed deadline they go with a 3rd party.  They could have done that months ago on all their products and shipped everything to everyone.

Buuuut.... they didn't.

That would not have helped them to persuade their victims to transfer their orders to their new vaporware product. Transfers which btw are non-transferable.

If BFL is not producing more hashes than they claim they are and mining it, then why all the deceptions, trickery, & obfuscations? Why destroy your own reputation without apparent gain? Why are their low end product lines so far ahead of their "premium" product lines? Why after so much hassle and confusion did they simply abandon their 1/3 shipping plan?

Agree. This has been handled very well by all involved. Well, all involved save one.

Me too, though I don't like shoveling snow. Other factors that would make our GPUs more profitable include:

1) A less bullish BTC/fiat exchange rate. This would lower our ASIC purchasing power and would be an overall negative for us.
2) Gox management finally showing some competence and getting LTC listed on their exchange. Let's not hold our breath shall we?

Cheers.
228  Other / Archival / Re: btt on: September 13, 2013, 04:10:48 PM
did we actually got any BTCs out of middlecoin? everytime I check spreadsheet, there's lots of zeros

Hi JimiQ84. BTC? No. Satoshi dust, yes. Middlecoin pays at unpredictable times of the day, so if I do not have a payment from them by the time I calculate 24hr earnings then I simply leave that field blank. Grand total received from middlecoin is: 0.22242836. Last payment received was 0.01002828 on 9/10(dispersed on 9/11). txid: d7793db2878c69ac0b33dda08b27e299c8ee3586a257230252b3a4ff4e075c24

Please realize that GPU mining is not very profitable and generates a ton of heat. This heat has to be removed as it heats up our ASIC hardware, lowering their output. This can quickly costs us much more than we make from the GPUs. For these reasons, the rig feeding the GPUs is often put to sleep. Colder weather and a less bullish BTC exchange rate could change this situation, but we're not likely to make a ton of BTC off our GPUs.

Cheers.

You'll have to ask that of Carlos L.

It's possible that he doesn't feel xDeathwing should be allowed to relocate a decimal after both parties had agreed to terms.

I don't know if i'll take a Scammer or Untrustworthy tag but for this subject, i don't know...
I paid 0.05 to both person as i said before so i don't see any problems.

That's up to Carlos L. I wouldn't do any business with xDeathwing either, but I'm not going to give him an untrustworthy rating because *I* don't feel it's warranted.

How about two misunderstandings.

xDeathwing, when will I get my money back?

Nice of them to provide an exact time. Sure helps with choosing appropriate option contracts.

The options contracts available are insanely overpriced. The premium is typically bigger then the strike price so the price has to either go up by 50% or down by 90% to make a profit off of them.

Agree.
235  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bryan Micon's Butterfly Labs Scammer Investigation including Josh Zerlan on: September 13, 2013, 03:47:49 AM
The company BFL may be running subpar or not up to some standards we may envision a company should be run but, upon touring their facility, I'm here to state that I'm reversing my position on them after having drunk the proverbial Kool Aid.

I will be posting in the other negative BFL threads outlining my current position and views of which I was not paid for in advance, albeit I did receive a gift after the KC meetup and my travel/lounging expenses were more than compensated.

Josh was truthful when he stated that if you address to him questions and concerns in a civil manner, he will reply in kind. Likewise, demanding shit and speaking foully had, and will continue to be replied also in kind, of which is understandable, albeit I do feel that such a stance from a COO isn't warranted, but whom am I to say what's appropriate.

Josh and Sonny were gracious hosts at the plant and meetup, and would probably answered any question I tossed at them, though I had few, for it only took me a couple minutes of seeing the operation to prove to myself that they're not going anywhere, including Sonny after the 15th, of which was bullshit that I probably started or at least perpetuated.

More info forthcoming in the other threads as I read and catch up, addressing what needs to be addressed.

Bruno

PS: The fuckers served me cherry Kool Aid when I was on record that I desired raspberry. If they're capable of scamming an asshole by serving the wrong flavor--on purpose--what the hell else are they capable of? <insert appropriate smiley here>

WHAT?!?

Who are you and what have you done with our Bruno? Cheesy

ACTM at .0029 ...fuck

begin rant:

I have held my tongue long enough. I am fed up with Ken's inept sense of decent communication (beyond a few grunts here and there) and his awful sense of design and marketing. That logo is third rate at best. If that bloody awful site is doing so goddamn well; WHERE ARE THE FUCKING NUMBERS?! As funders (I won't call us shareholders anymore for obvious reasons) of this little experimental venture we have a right to know.

At this point, my FUD is that ACTM will not gain momentum again because of competition and difficulty AND the fact that for whatever reason, Ken refuses to do trade magazine type PR to get the word out AND and to tell us current state of progress. I am frustrated that Actm and vmc are never even mentioned in the news the way other companies are. At this point Ken may have funded and built his company for free off our backs. It doesn't seem to matter to Ken if the stock evaporates. He doesn't own any. So frustrated right now. All Ken (or someone in the know) has to do is tell us and the world what progress he is making. But day after day it's silence and the confidence drizzles away to nothing as he seems too socially inept to know how to communicate.

Unless no news really is bad news.

end rant.

+ 10
We will be releasing P&L for this quarter by the end of October.

It's the shopped chipzilla pics. That's a bulk can of worms to open. A legit company would be very unlikely to go down that road.

Isn't the "contract" on BF editable without a shareholder vote anyway? What does the wording matter if one party can just change it without the other party's consent?
