Oh wow. I am going to buy a few shares of TEEK.USD. It's like depositing coins and then taking a short CFD for the total, but all in one click Smiley

glad someone likes it Cheesy  volume has been pitiful so far tho.. Tongue

Hm, taking TEEK.USD as a way to trade on BTC price inside GLBSE has rapidly proven one of the worst ways to waste my money I have come across in my life, HYP scams aside.
But I guess I have learnt now. I can put BTC there, and if price goes down -profit! If not... hey, 1%/week on a USD deposit, what bank offers that? I can simply take that much money, buy new bitcoins, and the final effect will have been to move them to a much higher interest, without adding too much currency risk.

Seen under this light, this is maybe the gretest asset ever  Cheesy

In the bull market we are in yeah.. but hopefully volume will eventually pick up and the spread will tighten up..   Glad you like it.

231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: In support of genjix on: August 03, 2012, 02:43:02 PM
I don't think people are taking it personal against any of them, or at least they shouldn't be.  Especially genjix as the responses I received from genjix in the beginning of this mess seemed to be fast and courteous, I have also observed this in the forums.

As for intersango being handed a ticking time bomb,  they are to the best of my knowledge all grown men, who agreed to a legal obligation to assume operational control of a company.  The state that company was in is pretty much irrelevant, as they had their chance to do their DD and accept or pass on the deal.

Then phantomcircuit goes and starts demanding respect and defending their actions.  Saying silly things like,  the site is being exploited and that's the most important thing on their plates.  Well in this case, the data they were trying to protect was not only compromised, it was lost completely.  In light of the data being lost completely, a compromise doesn't sound so bad.

Personally i don't know any of them,  don't personally wish them any ill will.  As operators of bitcoinica though, they were / are complete fail.   I think they would save more face at this point by admitting they were wrong and being as helpful as possible to return people their funds, but they choose to be defensive and seem to no longer be facilitating the return of customer funds.

I personally have several hundred coins mixed up in this mess so I know first hand how aggravating this can be, and why at this point, the mob is the mob.  I didn't even say a peep for a month or more, they really did have their chance, I believe a lot of other people also gave them the same courtesy.

233  Economy / Exchanges / Re: [ANN] Bitcoinica Consultancy abandons customers. Bitcoinica to enter Liquidation on: August 01, 2012, 08:14:42 PM
The short version is that:

Amir, Patrick and Donald of Intersango have all made this problem MUCH MUCH WORSE by refusing to act or even reply to emails.
Because of those three, everyone who had money in Bitcoinca will receive back less money than they would have, had they been cooperative.

They should be ashamed.

I don't understand why this has to be the case, I really don't.  It's like nevermind the mistakes they or zhou made.  They went and took this whole "moral high ground" stance, and now everyone is likely getting fucked.

Also - how the liquidator handles BTC assets is going to be interesting, likely in a way that doesn't benefit any of us.

Now if only there was a way to short these  Cheesy

Not sure if you are referring to TEEK.PPT specifically or all PPT's, but I am sure if you offered an interest premium there would be many willing to borrow shares..  so you could probably short if you really wanted too.
