I love all new altcoins. It gives newbies a chance to gain experience mining and also lets new developers start at a ground level. Rock on, and thanks

Wait, are you saying I have to be running Gentoo to have cpu mining run by default with bfgminer? I thought I just used "--enable-cpumining"? Even without it, my miner fires up and mines TRC no problem. (I have other problems withother pools and other alt coins but thats bc of the learning curve for a n00b like me)

It's a fork of cgminer, isn't it? It began as a fork of cgminer (a CPU/GPU miner), but not to be confused with the current cgminer, which has become a fork of BFGMiner for trolling reasons. For "trolling reasons"? It couldve just been for teh lulz. It is always so difficult to distinguish

I am trying to mine this pool. However, even after installing the stratum mining proxy on my machine I am lost at how to activate that along with my miner.
I have bfgminer and cpuminer (minerd)
So I can start stratum and then it sort of looks like its running and doing something, but its not. How do I run it with the above listed miners? Do I start stratum in one terminal and then the miner in another?

We are trying to become the next BitInstant essentially at BuyBitcoin.US. We accept cash deposit only at various locations in USA and CA currently. Check our website for current sell orders. We are basically an escrow service for people trying to sell their BTC for bank deposit. There isn't another service this quick that I know of right now running on a large scale, but you could also buy from members on the forum here. Check https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=53.0 for people selling BTC. Much like the OP I used BitInstant a few times per week. I like the BuyBitcoin.US site and I am going to try it as soon as I get my check tomorrow. (Actually, I wont be able to do the transaction until Monday) So I will report back and tell everyone how the experience was. I jsut wish there was a service that would sell using Paypal. I have too much money in there and I dare not link my bank account or my real name due to money I woed to everyone while I was not working for 4-5 years.

Hello,
I have accumulated a few advertising vouchers from Daily Bitcoins [dot] Org and I will not be using them. So if anyone wants them they just have to PM me. First come, first serve. Also, I use the site regularly so I should always have a few

Is YBC cpuminer compatible? Unfortunately I have no gpu right now and wont have one for quite a few weeks. However, I would like to start getting some of the ybc since the difficulty is still fairly low

BTCflow.net says on their website that they have had their BTC stolen and needed to close the faucet. I trust they will produce the transaction where their coins were transferred out of their wallet.

Its always good to see new bullion dealers that accept Bitcoin.
Last time I made an order it was with Coinabul and it took them months to ship.

According to this: http://coinmarketcap.com/Novacoin has been really bullish during the last 7 days. Is it a bubble forming? I honestly think that NVC is just another scamcoin ( copy-paste from LTC + copy-paste from PPC ). Therefore it really bothers me that it's going up like that. Can anyone explain the phenomenon? Its a scam coin. When a few folks can trigger buys alone they can make the market move. I dont think Novacoin has much value at all. As a matter of fact, until these coins are actually used in transactions for tangible goods they should all have a value closer to current Stable Coin prices.

Do you have to use Stratum? Or can the regular cpuminer (minerd) connect to a pool and mine it? Ive had no luck getting stratum configured or getting bfgminer to work properly either

Well, I just heard about this miner the other day. I jsut installed it on my Mint laptop just to fool around and become familiar with the program.
Im not sure what its doing but its doing something. Cool.
Ive only had experience with cpuminer (minerd) which is really straightforward on Linux. Point, Aim, Shoot.
This seems really involved. But it seems like a ton of work went into this so as soon as I get my next payments on BTC Jam I will shoot a donation @ luke-jr
