Fair enough, you know you've been put to pasture when you have tenure and the best things in life are Sumo and chillin' with the Mother-in-law. Amirite? Cheesy

I know nothing about you, but, for some reason, I am sure that I would not want exchange my life with yours...  Wink

It's obviously more difficult to access bitcointalk.org from behind the Chinese firewall now.

The fact that his last login date coincides with the date of this news article is reason enough to believe that whatever VPN he was using is now blocked.

Well, I'm from China and the same city (ShenZhen) as AM

Cool, we need you to find a guy named fried cat who is skinny and asian with a big flop of hair. He has a huge bag of chips and a back pocket crammed full of bitcoins. Could you ask him to report to his shareholders please?

Edit ^^^ That's the one. The CP obsessed lambsock is really really grasping at straws of attention for survival.

Could you see the parallels between the adoption of the UFC to mainstream and the mass adoption of our favorite "coin"? Maybe you have been looking at this thing more from a computer science aspect and missing out on the social phenomena?

The only parallels I can see is that I don't appreciate either.  Cheesy

The only fighting sport I can waste time watching is Sumo, because my Japanese mother-in-law (83 years old, not even 5 feet tall) does not miss one championship on TV. So I sort of learned to appreciate it, sort of.

Fair enough, you know you've been put to pasture when you have tenure and the best things in life are Sumo and chillin' with the Mother-in-law. Amirite? Cheesy

Wow!

I'm fairly new to this whole thing and just joined today after buying some bitcoin.

I read through a bunch of this thread and holy shit!
I'm bullish after reading what I just did from here!!
favorite posts... this one ---> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg10547040#msg10547040

and this one -----> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178336.msg10550051#msg10550051

There were a bunch inbetween that were good too but silverfortune seems to kick troll ass . It looks to me like the trolls here are trying to keep the price down by ruining sentiment in this thread at the behest of poweful investors.  I'm going to hold for now thanks haha

It's silverfuture thanks, and don't get too carried away with conspiracies there buddy. Cheesy

Don't gamble with more than you can afford to lose!

I reported several child porn references to the mods by clicking report and by msg. Result : nothing whatsoever.

Yeah it is a fine line between free speech and censorship. But this is a bitcoin forum. Am I the only person who thinks NLC posting from an alt called 'childpronz' is grounds for being removed from the forum? This place is plumbing new lows.

Strange. I can confirm and have proof that moderators ARE removing content when it criticizes NotLambChop.

He has friends in high places. Surprised?

What do you know for sure or are you guessing?

His cause has a lot of sympathy. That's all I'll say

Sounds shifty as fuck. What kind of degenerates are these people anyway?

I'll bet Rhonda can cook too. I'd marry her in a heartbeat and I KNOW she could still beat your firefighting redneck ass any day. Cheesy

Well she certainly can't act. Did you see expendables III?  I don't fight women. I fight fire. If you're being attacked by ninjas, call Rhonda. If your house is burning down, call me.

Didn't watch the movie, I have little patience for Hollywood shit. I wouldn't call you for a fire though, I'm a long ways from you. Cheesy

P.S. Who would someone in your area call if they were attacked by ninjas while the house was on fire? Not you?
229  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 24, 2015, 12:16:15 AM
I believe that it is not a coincidence that there are so few women who are "into" bitcoin.  Grin

bitcoin or computer science or engineering or any of the stuff that separates us from primitive subsistence-level savages.

When the first computer science courses opened in Brazil, women were often more that half of the students, and the brightest students were often women.  Over the years the proportion has dropped to the same level as in electrical and civil engineering, that is 5--10% or maybe less.

We had endless debates about why women don't apply to computer science anymore, with no conclusions.  It is not because computer science is "difficult". It is actually one of the professions where even dumb people can succeed.  There are plenty of women in medicine, chemistry, mathematics -- where you really need a functioning brain to work.  I taught intro computing to chemical engineering freshmen last semester, and to my surprise the class was again half women, and again some of the best students were women.

It must be some subtle thing in the popular image of the computer professional.  Perhaps the idea that he is an antisocial nerd who hardly leaves his mom's basement --- a way of life which may appeal to many adolescent men, but not to adolescent women.

Quote
women [ ... ] living in houses they didn't build, talking on phones they didn't invent, typing on computers they didn't program, driving cars they didn't design, going to stores they don't manage to spend money they didn't earn.

And you still think that men are more intelligent than women?  Cheesy

You can't even divide it up between genders like that, and I think BJA is a little off base there. We all have a relatively wide range of biological individuality (Except for maybe the Winkelvii Smiley )  Women tend toward different types of intelligence and other qualities than men as a group for whatever reason and we seem better off as a network for it. Women seem to tend toward social, emotional, and creative intelligence and men tend toward logical, rational, and physical intelligence but those are only tendencies and, again, wide ranges can be expected in any population.  Intelligence is a tough quantitative analysis to make and the tools are still crude at best.

It is an often repeated myth to say that all bitcoiners are men, white, etc. etc.  It's a pretty diverse group but of course the bell curve does lean heavily to the white male geek stereotype to the delight of naysayers who use that as some sort of racist, sexist argument against bitcoin tech. I reject that thinking and think some people should just get a life and go do something productive instead.

Case in point, it was only a small, hardcore group of men who were the initial enthusiasts for the Ultimate Fighting Championship. They were so hardcore, they would go train and fight for next to nothing in pay, fans would travel for miles to see the shows, etc.  UFC almost was shut down and experienced many times when either regulatory bodies or (John McCain) politiciansa called for bans.  There were less women in support of it than there is for bitcoin and most opposed it as violence.  Cooler heads prevailed though and now we are at a point of mass adoption where Rhonda Rousey is one of the biggest stars and draws of the show. She beautiful, intelligent, and tough as fucking nails. A good role model for empowering women IMO.

UFC is the fastest growing sport in the world now and that type of event only happened in Brazil a little over 20 years ago when I first found out about it and started watching and training MMA.  Bitcoin shows many of the same developments as the UFC in its early adoption on the way to mainstreaming.

I know you are likely busy Jorge but didn't get any comment yet. I enjoy reading your posts and you do have some insights worth more than a cursory glance. Could you see the parallels between the adoption of the UFC to mainstream and the mass adoption of our favorite "coin"? Maybe you have been looking at this thing more from a computer science aspect and missing out on the social phenomena?
230  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 24, 2015, 12:03:46 AM

And yet the toughest guy in any town with a population over 5,000 could beat her to a pulp. It's like being the midget who's best as basketball.

IMHO, a woman who can cook is more sexy. Why only value women who are good at men's stuff? It's really hard to be a good mom and a good wife, judging the the divorce rates and the character of this last generation of teenagers. We should appreciate the one's who do that job well and maybe that would incentivise the rest to try harder and quit wasting time trying to be badasses or things they probably don't have aptitude for and probably wouldn't enjoy as much.

I'll bet Rhonda can cook too. I'd marry her in a heartbeat and I KNOW she could still beat your firefighting redneck ass any day. Cheesy

Seriously though, I don't think you understand sports or MMA very well when you make those statements. Rhonda was an Olympic medalist judoka... and highly decorated world gold medalist. She is an athlete of high caliber and is now a complete MMA fighter who would knock the absolute fuck out of most tough guys in every city if they weren't near her skill level and training like a beast. Even male MMA fighters of her weight category would have a slim chance unless they were also of her caliber athlete.

Big local tough guys with little training do horribly against much smaller UFC fighters as you can see here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q9JpeKKBScA

So why would it be any different for her?

She is exceptional though and many women do like to cook, iron, be soft and feminine, and suck a boner like there's no tomorrow. I really like that in a woman as well. Cheesy

An influential, impassioned, and highly intelligent bitcoiner is working to bring the light of reason to all things concerning child abuse. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLMNj_r5bccUwZY7RCZnS2e5-vjaA7wSNw

But this doesn't play into the scam that ElectricMucus, NotLambChop, et al is trying to play on unsuspecting newb enthusiasts to get their coins. If you were wondering, that's why they won't mention him. Possibly they were victims of child abuse themselves and it has unfortunately promoted a deep sense of schadenfreude as we can see. I feel bad for you poor chaps, don't take it out on bitcoin.

NotLambChop, You are on my ignore but I'm sure by the turbo posts I'm seeing from your handle, you are frothed up in a hot mess again. Don't you think it's time to take a break, maybe puff a jay and just chill? I worry for your health little buddy. Maybe go back to school and try a new career? It's not that important what people say about you on the internet to get so worked up. I suppose you could just put me on ignore, but it's hard isn't it? Cheesy

Sure, it was probably just a moderator with not much else to do that picked my picture out of the shitstorm of crude and demeaning posts to delete on their own initiative. Right Roll Eyes

I think we all have a pretty good idea of who's lying Cheesy

I too have had a post deleted once or twice for no apparent reason. They only common thread I could find was that they don't like it when you post only a picture with no text. It was somewhat annoying to have what I considered an on-topic picture deleted, especially because this place is such a lassie-fair shitfest. But whatever, it is what it is.

Incredible! What is the reason for this? It'd be great to have an explanation from Blitz.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 23, 2015, 08:46:06 PM

Resorting to transgenderphobic jokes, Bitcoin paedophile?   You ain't got no scruples at all, do you, lying pervert? Angry

Oh quit it with feigning some sort of desire to help anyone but yourself you greasy fiat salesman.

...
I'm not even a nice guy.  I'm not concerned about teh n00bs, but rather how their goofy self-mutilation affects Bitcoin as a whole, and how this public perception affects the value of my investment.  I don't even particularly care if stupid n00bs lose money, as long as they do it discretely, quietly, not center-stage under the spotlight.

I'm not a moralfag, I'm looking out for myself.  Just like a guy quietly moving serious weight wouldn't let a punkass crack dealer set up on his stoop to push bunk.  Hint: it's not because he's a nice guy worried about crackheads not getting their due bang for the buck.

TL;DR: Enlightened self-interest.
If some noobs get schooled in the process?  Gravy!

^Stop spinning this web of lies & just admit you're a liar, liar! Angry
Edit re. boldface: I never reported any of your crap to moderators, you're nowhere as relevant as you think.

Sure, it was probably just a moderator with not much else to do that picked my picture out of the shitstorm of crude and demeaning posts to delete on their own initiative. Right Roll Eyes

I think we all have a pretty good idea of who's lying Cheesy

If I can prove that I didn't report you & you're just being your lying paranoid fagit self, will you publicly admit to your faggotry & never post here again, liar?

What's wrong, lying liar, got cold feets?

lel, someones got their panties in a bunch. Can't take the heat huh? Cheesy
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: February 23, 2015, 08:17:55 PM
pretty pathetic bear raid attempt by the greedy noisy, bearpig trolls ... seems like it had to be done though as price was breaking out sideways so they are getting extremely desperate now, as we can tell from the synchronised hating fest that seemingly came from nowhere in time for the quietest time of the market ... chinese NY over tomorrow and fiat starts hitting the exchanges again, need to paint the tape for that

The beartrolls are scammers of the highest order. Worse than neobee or a host of other failed or scammy bitcoin ventures and are just as fraudulent in trying to scare emotionally or financially weak people out of their coins. At least the outright scams asked nicely instead of using fear or emotional engineering.  They lie about their objectives and try to obfuscate the truth by making it seem like their motivations for posting are out of moral duty to save fools from losing their money when in fact they are not ethical agents, just greedy book talkers or seriously confused dipshits

The short term price movements mean little in the face of what bitcoin has done in a very short time. Amateur hour is pretty much over. Stronger hands that are capable and ethically motivated are gearing up the engines and the real crooks are looking to game or exploit this experiment (which is expected and necessary).

However bad the first wave has been (Hello MagicalTux!), they did bootstrap a whole transparent world value ledger and multibillion dollar value economy to this point and must be lauded for their fearlessness of living on the lunatic fringe that also happen to be the spearhead of innovation. Here's to the ones crazy enough to think they can change the world.

TL;DR for newbies : Trollbear trader scammers want to cheat you out of your chance of a decent future stake in the most exciting technology/economy shift since the internet itself.  Don't be stupid and put yourself at risk in the short term markets and risk another gox, wait for legitimate and secure exchanges or even better just spend them directly when it is ubiquitous. Do this instead FTW!:

1. Buy as much as is comfortable and healthy for your budget at as close to the bottom of  long term bear cycles as possible.

2. Put duplicate private keys in cold storage in multiple safe locations and forget about them for a while.

3. learn and grow as an individual learning about economics, ethics, business, blockchain tech, etc. and develop your self discipline so when you have a lot of wealth you can use it wisely instead of what often happens to lottery winners, successful thieves or scammers, or other instantly rich, soon to be poor folks who often get very sick from not knowing how to handle all the stresses and temptations of managing wealth.

4. Have a long term vision and set goals for it, filling in the short term steps and details along the way.

5. Profit and enjoy your wealth and life with people who love you properly, building good things to exchange and taking on challenges to the benefit of yourself and your fellow humans.

This thread used to be informative & an enjoyable read.
It's a total embarrassment now.

Do mods exist on this forum?

There is but they seem to have an anti-bitcoiner agenda by deleting posts from long time members in good standing and trust and upholding trollish slander from nefarious neer-do-wells.  I wouldn't be surprised if the sock trolls ARE the mods in this case.

I'd like to see it improve but until moderation is at least honest it ain't gonna happen and I will torch this place to the ground by whatever means neccessary if it isn't already there.

I've just reported a post to test your theory.

It contained homophobia Wink

See if they remove it.

It isn't a theory, hypothesis maybe, but thanks for testing. I just said I wouldn't be surprised, that's not an affirmative statement.

Hilarious... of course the troll messages I was referring to... all still there...

Go figure.

Apparently it is off topic to refer to the fact this thread has been kidnapped by paid trolls... and the mods are totally alright with it.

Sigh.

Ah well, tbh I am not going to lose any sleep over it.

Do your worst trolls, or your best or whatever it is...

Strange huh?
