221  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if bitcoin crash, could you put your money in another currency to be safe? on: March 08, 2017, 08:48:56 PM
The only other currency that I could think of that really would be safe to the point of having no issues with the bitcoin price flucation would be FIAT currencies such as USD which are not going to be affected by Bitcoin in the least, they may even increase value (alongside other FIAT currencies of course) People on here may say the best bet is going to be some shitcoin but it's going to have an issue exchanging back into bitcoin so I'd just go ahead and switch to USD if you fear a crash incoming of any sort.

If this would happen I would stop using crypto currency for a while until I see the next main currency that would substitute bitcoin. I don't trust my money in any altcoin, it's too risky, and at first point it would be a mess, everybody trying to predict the next bitcoin currency.
Me as a little investor, a little fish, couldn't influence anything, I can just follow the whales hoping to make some profit with their choices.

I wouldn't want to put my money and trust in the face of the whales, they don't care for anything but some profit.
222  Economy / Economics / Re: bitcoin prices go to the moon? on: March 02, 2017, 10:44:55 PM
People really have to stop jumping on the train of that bitcoin prices will just go insanely high one day and we will all become millionaries. You people on this forum that beleive this do understand that people are going to have to buy bitcoin at these insane prices too? There has to be a demand for the prices that people are speculating or nothing will occur and no one will be able to say.

Liquidity it any current moment is key, on Bitcoin it is present at the moment without issues but if a "To the moon" would occur with the price the entire marketplace will be thrown into limbo, who knows what could occur.

To the moon came from dogecoin story,it became popular in all digital currencys community, meaning is price rise.I think today Trump speech can nfluance btc,i expect that Wall Street will shows his power and will be sell off on markets, but if btc will pass 1200$ we will have 1800$-2200$ level. For sure some people will know SEC decision before annoucment

If we want mass adoption the price increases and decreases cant keep occurring like this, bitcoin just won't be massively adopted if this occurs it's simple as people don't want to buy into a currency then have less money in that currency within minutes due to market volatility.
223  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: CYBERSILENT VPN 50% OFF ***PROMO*** on: March 01, 2017, 11:30:29 PM
Site seems disgustingly slow and it doesn't really seem you get much traffic on the site at all, no reviews from people on here that are using it (as I suppose none are using it) so I would feel it would be rather risky to put money into buying this service from someone without a track record.

Is there anyway you could do some sort of vouch copy for a trusted and reputable member of this forum who could provide an unbiased review of the service in order to help out here.

The theme on the site is nice though, even if it's a copy paste kind of theme that is overused.
224  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin overcome Paypal? on: March 01, 2017, 07:12:18 PM
I'm not feeling this will ever occur due to the presence that paypal already has in the digital world and the a great amount of reputation that it has built up through years and years of happy customers using it while being safe online. People like to use PayPal as they know that if something goes wrong or if someone attempts to scam them, they're able to dispute the charge with PayPal and get their money back. I and everyone else here knows that can be easily abused for fraud and such but if used correctly it is a nice service do have.

PayPal is also deeply rooted in EBay, one of the biggest online marketplaces for goods sold online (besides Amazon - US) so the people on there provide a ton of revenue to PayPal and those fellas. Bitcoin will try, but it is going to have to take a lot of converting and tons of more innovation relating to fees and confirmation time speed in order to catch up to them.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction from friend still unconfirmed on: March 01, 2017, 05:21:10 AM
Network is under an insane stress load at the moment and transaction time and fees are spiking so your best bet for your next transaction would be to attempt to pay a higher fee (if possible) in order to get confirmations faster by the miners.

A good tool you can use is VIABTC TX Accelerator which allows for them to attempt to confirm your transaction and it does it much faster then the network would go without their help and support. Currently too many people are using the service so I can't submit yours but once thats over you should go ahead and try every hour if it's still not confirmed.

226  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best cloud mining operations? on: March 01, 2017, 04:44:01 AM
Best cloud-mining operation at the moment with the best source of recourse at the moment in my opinion would probably have to be NiceHash, I know it doesn't fill the normal definition for these sort of companies as they usually own their own hardware but Nicehash allows mining of tons of coins INCLUDING Bitcoin, Eth, Zcoin, XMR, and so on.

Plus, you only pay for what you use so you can be able to calculate earnings for that time period and it's not as tough to estimate earnings for a long term amount of time (As you don't usually do long term mining with them, usually short term things you plan out beforehand)

Would avoid these cloud mining sites that can just cancel contracts, thats a bunch of bullshit, stick with Nicehash they have real peoples hardware and no bullshit as you can get paid out whenever your pool allows you to.
227  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Has the high fees problem changed your behaviour when spending bitcoins? on: March 01, 2017, 01:59:33 AM
It's forced me into not allowing myself to do any small transactions and to attempt to minimize the amount of transactions that I do per month, this in turn leads the minimizing of the amount of money that I end up paying in fees when I add that all up at the end of the month. Pretty sad to see this occur as I hadn't cared in the least about before as it had been a minor aspect of my buying things which Bitcoin.

It hasn't changed my behaviour. It only frustrates me because I have to do what I have never done before, check the current fees and the number of transactions in mempool on https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ before I decide to send anything. It makes the operation a little more annoying, because the fees are going up so fast that one month a transaction with 0.0004 fee is completely fine and the next you need 0.0006 or you'll wait 24h...

Frustrates everyone, I guess I'll be trying to go with a lower fee for things I don't really need instantly. You pay with your time, if you pay less in money you pay more in time wasted waiting.

BTW, do any of you guys use Coinbase? They don't charge a fee to send bitcoins out from your bitcoin wallet on any amount over 0.0001 BTC. So, basically, sending over 0.0001 bitcoin is free

You still pay transactions fees, Coinbase themselves just don't charge you any fees for allowing you to use their wallet.
228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Survey - How much you are willing to pay - Bitcoin Guide on: March 01, 2017, 01:32:10 AM
Most of the guides and stuff today put forward by people on this forum, other forums, and the rest of the internet are usually just spreading saturated methods that are just attempting to be a fast grab for peoples money without any recourse on gaining any money at all.

Anything that you sell is probably saturated and is just a waste of money and I would keep it off this forum, you should go to another forum (not going to say the name but people can probably think about ones that accept shitty ebooks) and they'll be very fond of you joining and will accept you with open arms.

Keep these shitty ebooks off here, find any place.
229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the Bitcoin be seen as a collectible item ? on: February 28, 2017, 11:12:30 PM
Wouldn't really think of it as a collectible item based on the pure fact that I feel when you collect something you have the ability to touch it, hold it, move it and so on. With bitcoin this is impossible, unless you buy one of those coins that have the private keys for the wallet inside of it. Still, this really doesn't put bitcoin as a collectible.

I think that the Bitcoin can be considered a collectible item for someone who collects coins and includes this item with the classification of "virtual currency," but I think they would do it for the fact that it is something special for that person and they would opt for a physical Bitcoin to make it meaningful.

If you meld your definition and change what the person collects, which is a weird niche but I guess collecting virtual currency could work as you cant touch any of the virtual currencies but a person could still have one coin of each on wallets saved somewhere.

It can sure be considered as a collectible item. Several other digital currencies too have evolved during the same time period. So the potential one being secured in a wallet is a good thing. Along with this when one makes a collection of most digital currencies and ICO's that's been existing periodically would make people start collecting it as collectible.

It's considered more of a currency and less of a collectible, this is just someone asking if it COULD be seen as a collectible.
230  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Best Miner for a GTX 1080? on: February 25, 2017, 12:35:28 AM
I have a rig at the moment that has a GTX 1080 in it and when I'm not using it I wanted to know what coin would be most profitable to mine, at the moment I'm using one Nicehash which does provide me some money but I've seen others doing this also saying that it would be more profitable to just mine a particular altcoin and then trade that for bitcoin on a weekly to monthly basis.

Let me know guys, thanks!
231  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cloud (VPS, VDS, Dedicated) companies that accept Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2017, 12:13:58 AM
I want to point out that based on my findings so far, any hosts that accept crypto are actually going to be (oddly) more expensive than fiat ones. You can save a lot by just paying with a credit card. It's weird, though, because it'd make sense for them to be CHEAPER if they accept crypto since their costs are lowered.

I'd probably be thinking the stuff behind this is that the people who run the crypto only hosting companies are the ones that know that they're going to be going into a niche market (Bitcoin hosting company) and they know that people will pay a bit more to pay with BTC based on the fact that they don't have a credit card or don't want to use one online.

Weird, but that's how free market capitalism works.
232  Economy / Economics / Re: What would be effect of denial from ETF on: February 24, 2017, 11:42:00 PM
Well at this point I'm more or less expecting a denial of the ETF based on the pure fact of risk for investors based on bitcoins short history. I don't think the ETF denial OR approval will really do much to the price it will just make the volume of trading higher than it is at the moment, more people selling and more people buying will just cause the price to stay where it is.

So, price will stick where it is which will be better for the health of bitcoins growth and adoption.
233  Economy / Service Discussion / Telegram groups for Bitcoin on: February 24, 2017, 08:26:39 PM
Would love to speak to some of yall when it comes to speaking about current bitcoin news and all things bitcoin so I'd like to know if anyone knows about a group on Telegram that is used for Bitcoin?

I've seen many groups which are used for altcoin trader, whale trading, and so on but am yet to find a group on just bitcoin but I would guess it's out their.

Thanks!
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Transaction Fees are SPIKING ! on: February 24, 2017, 07:30:15 PM
I still remember the times when you could get a bitcoin transaction confirmed within the next block for 15 cents for the transaction fee and people were still complaining that it was too high. I guess you don't know how good we had it until we lost it and now have to pay $.50 cents for one block $.47 cents for one block. Pretty disgusting in my opinion to see such a high fee when not so long ago it was much cheaper.

People may go ahead and say "well the only people complain are the ones that send around small amount of money" that's a horrid attitude to have when it comes to all of this. If we want Bitcoin to go mainstream this can't occur because lets just say someone wants to buy something for $5.00 do you think they're going to spend 10 percent more to use bitcoin or they're just going to use their credit card or FIAT cash.
235  Economy / Economics / Re: Is trading just educated guessing? on: February 24, 2017, 06:53:54 PM
People may say that they follow all this bullshit technical analysis when it comes to bitcoin and they watch the crypto news relating to it, but in the end you're really just hoping for bitcoin to go up with a claim on why it SHOULD not why it WILL.

Even through some of the most crazed evidence in the world you could still end up with the opposite result of all your findings based on one big whale selling.

Can you really be sure you will profit unless you have insider info?

Not at all. Trading with bitcoin requires you to follow the price flow, current events that might change the price and also a little luck.

Tons of luck as Bitcoin isn't like a normal stock on wall street, yet I suppose.
236  Economy / Auctions / Re: (( WTS )) Aged Sr Member account for sale ,no ban, no red trust, 0.04btc on: February 24, 2017, 05:39:47 PM
Would you be able to send the information over to me with BCT talk account price info so I could really go ahead and see if the account is worth what you say it is. It's tough to just go off the information you give us and for us to go and follow that.

Thanks and I await your reply, send me a PM too if you'd rather it not be public.
237  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Proton Mail vs Gmail? on: February 24, 2017, 06:57:01 AM
Never heard of Proton mail will keep using gmail as its not broken yet, just as the saying  ”if it ain't broke, don't fix it”. Thanks for the heads up privacy really should be first priority!
Just out of curiosity is proton mail the next big thing?

that's exactly the mindset to get hacked and lose all your crypto.

Fucking eh man, some people just don't really understand the good mindset of "better be safe then sorry" like would you rather make something more secure in order to make sure someone won't get access to it. Gmail isn't broken in the least and I love using it, but once reading about all of the data that google sells about you it's really disgusting to see all of that information.

They even sell the really important things about you, like lets just say you have some sort of mental disability and they know by the sites you visit for help / support you could easily be targeted for ads on therarpy without an issue and you probably wouldn't bat an eye and just think they're trying to help you.
238  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin Surpass All-Time High While We Wait for the ETF? on: February 24, 2017, 01:03:44 AM
I personally don't even feel that the Bitcoin ETF is going to be approved based on the pure fact of how volatile and risky Bitcoin is and how easy it would be, based on past history of bitcoin volatility, for an investor to lose all their earnings very quickly.

I'm not saying this risk isn't present when it comes to trading stocks, but everyone here knows bitcoin is much more risky then stocks. In the off-chance for approval, I don't think the Bitcoin price will be affected in a major way due to it, maybe it'll jump a bit then fall a bit.
239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I have stopped introducing bitcoin to others! on: February 23, 2017, 11:46:07 PM
I feel that people on this forum are still too fully controlled on the idea that Bitcoin is going to overtake all currencies and is better than all currencies we have at the moment. You can't be paying a 50 cent or higher fee on transactions and ATTEMPT to tell me that Bitcoin is better than using a credit card that is accepted everywhere.

I've never agreed with someone higher on this forum when it comes to this subject, hats off to you for noticing the issues with bitcoin at the moment.

Cant argue with that also. It needs deeper knowledge for them to truly understand which they wont because they want to stay on they convenient zone.
One thing you just have to keep on your mind, that is their opinion and we have ours. We try to share it with them. If they resist then it is fine also. We dont lose anything but they lose the way to see a new beginning or could make their life new.
Those people just want to stay at that comfort zone which is the wrong thinking specially now with all the hard things with the economy.
That's complete bullshit, sorry.  You're not more intelligent because you use an internet currency that pretty much no one accepts, and that costs money to obtain and use.  Get over yourself.  OP is completely right--or rather, the ones arguing against btc as a currency are right.  It's a shitty currency.  End of story.

I will agree with you on the fact that this internet currency is having issues but I wouldn't go to the extreme of calling it a shitty currency, it's still in its growing nature and I wouldn't go ahead and judge it on it's 8th or 9th year on how well it will do forever.
240  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone heard of http://ultrabitcoinminer.online? on: February 23, 2017, 11:01:27 PM
Take the simple fact that if a site that advertises to be a legitimate business uses the cheap and pretty disgusting domain of .online, they're probably going to be a scam. I'm not saying all sites with .com are going to be legit, but at least they put in enough money to pay for that $10 a domain + hosting.

Any site that advertises as a cloud mining service are probably scams and even if they're reputable they may attempt an exit scam so I would just fully avoid this entire business model, it's doomed to fail in the end. Plus if the site does pay out you're just hurting someone down the line who's going to be getting scammed.
