So you are telling me that my "This Week's Payment" is zero instead of 0.45BTC?  Angry
How did those numbers even appear up there then?

Please do read the previous post about it, it has been stated that there are some visual issue with the referall table and it is being fixed by the dev currently.

The database is unnaffected and sadly if you didnt receive anything yesterday then it means your referall hasnt wagered anything yet. The affiliate system has only been live since 5 days ago ( It might take some time ) anyway I can confirm that I have received my referall commision and also my cashback payment yesterday without any issue

Yes, the issue is definitely visual. I'm fixing it right now. The problem was I didn't have any realistic data to test it with and as such the code (which generates some virtual entries in order to provide a full affiliate list) was broken. Expect a fix soon.

Bottom line: the accounting and payouts are correct. It's the popup display which is broken.

OK, I just pushed a hotfix to the live site which fixes this. I'll give it another check this evening, but I have to go now to take care of some personal business.

As you all (hopefully) know, software development is a tricky business; sorry for the mishap.

Can I get an explanation please:

1. Dashboard says I got one affiliate registered, but 0 BTC in affiliate payment:

2. When I click on "Show affiliate history" it shows me somethin I don't understand:

Why are there three rows? Are those number of bets my aff has made? And "This week's payment"? That's how much BTC I should get?

Let me take a look at the data I have for you; I'll get back to you later today. Thanks.

Please send me a PM with your username on BetterBets so I can properly cross reference all the correct records. Thanks.

In regards to seeing the player you actually got a referral bonus from, the only way to know is if they tell you, development sees privacy concerns of the player if we were to directly reveal that. If you refer a large bettor they may not want you to know who they are especially if their bankroll is huge, hope you understand.

You are wrong about this, I dont say that I need to know their bankroll or whatever it is. I just want to check how many the person has wagered . Well everything is transparent isnt it in moneypot, I can also check your status, profit and your wagered amount through moneypot but there is no way to know who my referall is.

I am not wrong, I said players with a large bankroll would probably be opposed to showing their player names if they happen to be an affiliate (for fear of becoming a target.) I never said you asked to know what their bankroll is in my statement at all. We will be adding a field to show the number of affiliates you have on your account very shortly (just as Primedice does). In regards to the players name that will be left up to a player to decide if they want you to know who they are or signed under.

Transparency and player privacy have to be carefully done, we have even had players unhappy with the "Hall of Fame" because it shows stats publicly. It's hard to find a perfect balance but hopefully people understand.

How about doing this another way? Instead of showing the username itself, show something like this:

10203402034 - 100 BTC - 5 BTC
18030984293 - 1 BTC - 0.05 BTC

(Basically, show it like UID - Wagered - Earnings)

This gives both transparency and anonymity.

Good idea, I'll try implement this over the next few days. Thanks for the suggestion.

NP! I'd like to throw out one more suggestion as well... have it set up to... I'm not sure the term, but basically have x decimals, just for fluid purposes. For example, instead of the above, it'd be more like:

100.00000000 BTC - 5.00000000 BTC
1.00000000 BTC - 0.0500000000 BTC

Ideally, it'd go a bit further, and have zeroes at the beginning to make things flush as well. Pretty much I just like to see a quick, easy-to-read pattern, Smiley. It's not a deal-killer, but I do personally believe it makes things look a lot better.

No worries, I'll make it nice. I already have an idea to make your suggestion even better  Smiley

Does the referral revenue count fractional satoshis as well? For example, if you bet 1 satoshi at a 1.25x multiplier, it will show the following on four successive wins:

+0
+0
+0
+1

This shows that the betting is adding 0.25 satoshi per win, but since the system only shows 8 decimals, it doesn't show until it rolls over to 1.

Does the referral system work in the same way, or is it like Rollin, where the minimum to be added is 1 satoshi and anything lower is skipped altogether?

For the referral bonus, we keep track of all non-zero amounts. Ie: fractional satoshi amounts are counted and not discarded. This makes perfect sense in this case because since your referral revenue is based upon a percentage of the house edge, discarding factional satoshi values would eliminate the referral bonus for basically any bet under 667 Satoshi (assuming a standard house edge of 1%).

For the example you quoted, this is only the display area (which is rounded). In reality of course, even here the fractional satoshi amounts are counted but if we wanted to display this accurately, we'd have to add a few more digits to then end of the display amount which would mess up the table formatting on some display sizes.

Completely understand why it wouldn't be shown, was just curious as to if it was counted, Smiley. That makes this a LOT better than most other sites -- the majority ignore all fractions, such that users HAVE to bet above a specific threshold (usually 400+ satoshi or so) in order to be credited. So huge +1!

Thanks  Cheesy

Hi Everybody,

we just pushed a new version into production which adds some more statistics to the top header area. This was requested by a few players and should make some things more transparent.

Enjoy and play it safe.

If I count this correctly, you are giving more than 50 % that you get from moneypot to the player. 35 % of the house edge , this is the total if someone abuse this by referring himself and you only got 15 % for that. This is a very low amount to keep the house running. Im not sure if this will help you to keep the house running btw

It's up to... only the biggest whales gain such a big benefit. Most players won't come close to that.

Well you only need to wager 50 bitcoin weekly for that to get the 0.2 % of the wagered amount and that is a not a very high amount. Quick check on the site and I found that it seems there is a mini whale that win alot from plinko just few hours ago. Also is there a way to check who my referall is? I dont find it anywhere on the site btw

Do you mean who you were referred by?

Or do you want to see people who you referred to the site?

I'm kind of doubtful on making this info available, because there are potential privacy considerations involved.

Everybody: how do you feel about making such info available?
232  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetterBets.io Bitcoin Casino ★VIP★15% Affiliate Bonus PLINKO-DICE-HORSE RACING on: July 09, 2015, 03:30:13 PM
So everyone that has played before can still be your referall?

I'm not sure what you mean by "referall", the term is inaccurate/ambiguous.

Anybody who has played on BetterBets (and thus has a BetterBets user account) can give out his referral code/url; when other people (who have not played on BetterBets yet) use this url to sign up for an account with BetterBets, the referrer encoded in the URL is saved to the new user's account data. When that new player bets on our site, the person who referred him gets a commission based on the amount wagered by the new user.

A single BetterBets user can refer many people and thus gain significant commissions if those people produce good betting volume. Referral tracking is stored server-side (so no local cookies involved) and lasts forever.

Whether the person the referrer refers already has a moneypot.com account (or not) is irrelevant.

Hopefully this clarifies the entire referral business.

//Such stuff, very update

Awesome update! I just updated all of my links as well, Smiley.

One thing I'd like to ask for, though, is a tally near where the lottery tickets are that shows your current wagered towards that week's cashback/VIP program.

Let me talk to development on this, see if it can work without disrupting the flow of the UI. Good Idea to change your links, may as well make some Bitcoin for helping refer players.

Thanks, and asking this publicly as others may be curious as well... how does the referral system here work? I ask because accounts are handled through MoneyPot, and some users of other sites already have MoneyPot accounts but might not have played on BB yet. I'm not quite getting what users end up classified as being referred, and how that happens.

Good question, the referral link assigned to each account gets stored in the cookie of each referral. So after they register at moneypot from the link that player becomes stored as 'your' referral on our database.
Since BetterBets.io uses it's own servers vs. a pure client system as some apps on moneypot use, we have greater freedom to administer account specific actions.

Lobos could probably explain this better but that is the non-techie version until he can reply.

But this also means that if they've ever had a MoneyPot account before for another site, they can no longer be a referral, correct?

Correct unless they make a new account, which we are prepared to accept will probably happen.

This is what happens when you let marketing people speak on technical matters: they get it wrong!  Grin (no offense, Bjorn).

To clarify: If someone registers on BetterBets.io using a referral code, it does not matter whether they already have a MoneyPot user account or not. So send all your MP friends to our site and make some cash on the side!

I just noticed my previous raffle tickets get deducted from my account is that any kind of bug, because last time i have more than 50 tickets left there but now it shows only 7 there what happened to my account, is anyone other facing this problem like me with remaining raffle tickets?

They change the raffle system so that only bet >100 satoshi counts and if you have not submitted your tickets for the last raffle it will be cut by 90 % leaving only 10 %. Read the info at the last page for more info of this tickets

In light of these changes, we converted raffle-tickets which were not submitted to 10% of the leftover amount, so you had 1000 raffle tickets left after after the last draw, you now have 100 raffle tickets left.

Fairest way for new people to have a shot at the raffle same thing on my account. At least they let us carry any over at all I think is good.

The other thing to keep in mind is that it has a net-zero effect. Let's say:

You have 100 tickets and I have 400. I have 80% chance and you have 20%
We're shaved to 10%
You now have 10 tickets and I have 40. I have 80% chance and you have 20%

So even though we have less tickets, it has no real effect on the lottery chances (for the PAST), it just affects going forward, which is fair.

Entirely correct. Also, given the new raffle ticket distribution/rewards rules, a 90% is actually quite generous since our statistics show that the bulk of previously awarded raffle tickets were earned through very low bet amounts. All in all, if you have raffle tickets left from before, you're at quite an advantage compared to users who now have to earn them.

//changes here

I like the new changes! Can you add in a counter that shows how many rolls you have towards the next ticket (under # of tickets earned)? Basically, I see it as being like this:

Tickets Earned: 105
Progress to Next Ticket: 392/500

Or even change the progress to be a % (such as 59%).

This helps see the progress as it comes, instead of having to wait until it finally rolls over.

Yes, we'll be adding a bunch of changes related to raffle tickets. Coming soon to a website near you  Cool

Great to hear! I like where the site is going, and feeling like I'm in on the ground level of it is awesome, :p.

Yes, we'll also be displaying some info about bankroll and max-payout-per-bet. All of this will hopefully make the site more transparent.

Lastly, this has been announced but not implemented yet: big changes coming to luck-forging.

Hi,

we promised a detailed technical explanation of how we pick the raffle ticket winner and here it is. In English, the following steps are performed:

1) We retrieve the elegible raffle tickets (based on user submit-% setting) and insert them into a table which holds submitted raffle tickets for each user for the given month. Tickets are inserted in blocks and the table structure looks like this (the data for this example is made-up):

|Year |Month|UserID|StartNum|EndNum|
|2015|  06    | 123   |     1       |    123   |
|2015|  06    | 675   |   124     |     768  |
|2015|  06    | 12     |   768     |    2212 |

2) We then take the block hash of the first block mined after the beginning of the new month (after 00:00:00 GMT):

00000000000000001437607ffa24583aa964f84579254570d6b25b4fe65d658f

3) We calculate the product of all non-zero hexadecimal digits until we get a number greater than 10 Million. For the hash displayed in #2 this is:

15876000

4) We take the number of submitted raffle tickets (31208 for June) and use this in a modulus operation like this:

WinningTicket# = HashProduct % SubmittedRaffleTickets
which comes to
15876000 % 31208 = 22336

So for this example, the winning ticket number is 22336. Once we have this number we look up the submitted tickets blocks from step #1 and find the user for who 'owns' the ticket block into which the winning ticket falls.

This is the explanation in plain english.

The actual code which does this is below:

Code:
public static function submitRaffleTickets ()
    {
        $tables   = $GLOBALS['tables'];
        $dbConn   = $GLOBALS['dbConn'];

        $pagesize = 500;
        $month    = date ('m') - 1;
        $year     = date ('Y');
        $page     = 0;
        $cUsers   = 0;
        $cRt      = 0;

        $stmt = $dbConn->query ("SELECT COUNT(1) FROM $tables[rt_used] WHERE month = $month");
        $stmt->bindValue (':month', $month, PDO::PARAM_INT);
        $stmt->bindValue (':month', $month, PDO::PARAM_INT);
        $row = $stmt->fetch (PDO::FETCH_NUM);
        if ($row && $row[0]) {
            die ("Raffle Tickets for month [$month] already exist ... exiting");
        }

        do {
            $offset = $pagesize * $page;
            $stmt   = $dbConn->query ("SELECT id, alias, rt_redeem_percent, total_bets_rt FROM $tables[users] WHERE rt_redeem_percent != 0 AND total_bets_rt != 0 ORDER BY alias LIMIT $offset, $pagesize");
            $rows   = $stmt->fetchAll (PDO::FETCH_ASSOC);
            foreach ($rows as $row) {

                $amt  = (int)(($row['total_bets_rt']/$GLOBALS['hconf']['raffleTicketTurns']) * ($row['rt_redeem_percent']/100));
                if ($amt == 0) {
                    continue;
                }

                $stmt = $dbConn->prepare ("INSERT INTO $tables[rt_used] (uid, year, month, amt, start_num, end_num) VALUES (:uid, :year, :month, :amt, :startNum, :endNum)");
                $stmt->bindValue (':uid', $row['id'], PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->bindValue (':year', $year, PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->bindValue (':month', $month, PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->bindValue (':amt', $amt, PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->bindValue (':startNum', $cRt+1, PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->bindValue (':endNum', $cRt+$amt, PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->execute ();

                $stmt = $dbConn->prepare ("UPDATE $tables[users] SET total_bets_rt = total_bets_rt - :amt WHERE id = $row[id]");
                $stmt->bindValue (':amt', ($amt*$GLOBALS['hconf']['raffleTicketTurns']), PDO::PARAM_INT);
                $stmt->execute ();

                $cUsers++;
                $cRt += $amt;
            }
            $page++;
        } while (count($rows) > 0);

        echo sprintf ("Submitted %d RaffleTickets for %d users", $cRt, $cUsers);
    }

The function to calculate the winning ticket looks like this:

Code:
public static function getWinningRaffleTicketForHash ()
    {
        $hash  = DiceUtil::getPassedValue ('hash', null, 'GET');
        $count = (int)DiceUtil::getPassedValue ('count', 0, 'GET');
        $min   = 1000*1000*10;
        $sum   = 0;
        $off   = 0;

        if (!$hash) {
            exit ('Invalid [hash] recieved');
        }
        if (!$count) {
            exit ('Invalid raffle ticket [count] recieved');
        }
        if (!ctype_xdigit($hash)) {
            exit ('Invalid [hash] characters recieved');
        }

        do {
            $c = $hash[$off++];
            if (!$sum) {
                $sum = hexdec($c);
            } elseif ($c) {
                $sum *= hexdec($c);
            }
        } while ($sum < $min && $off < 30);

        $winner = $sum%$count;

        print "Hash = $hash<br />";
        print "Product (> 10M) = $sum<br />";
        print "Winning Ticket = $winner<br />";
    }

Hopefully this assures everybody that the process of picking the raffle ticket winner is a transparent and fair one. We will be adding a page to the site where the raffle ticket assignments and past winners will be listed; expect this page to be added to the site within a few days.

Lastly, we would like to announce a policy change:

While we still require 500 qualified rolls to earn a raffle ticket, from now on (the new code is already live) only bets larger than 100 Satoshi will be counted towards raffle tickets. Furthermore, depending on bet amount, rolls will be counted towards raffle tickets as follows:

1) Bets > 1 BTC count as 2500 rolls towards a raffle ticket (ie: 5 raffle tickets per 1 BTC roll)
2) Bets > 0.1 BTC count as 250 rolls towards a raffle ticket (1/2 raffle ticket)
3) Bets > 0.001 BTC count as 25 rolls  towards a raffle ticket (1/20th raffle ticket)
4) Bets > 0.0001 BTC count as 10 rolls towards a raffle ticket (1/50th raffle ticket)
5) Bets > 0.000001 BTC count as 1 roll towards a raffle ticket (1/500th raffle ticket)
6) Bets < 0.000001 BTC do not count towards a raffle ticket

The reasoning for this is as follows:
1) We wish to discourage people betting 1 satoshi bets all day long. If you wish to bet 1 satoshi bets, that's fine. But if your only purpose in doing so is to earn raffle tickets, then this is not fair towards users who bet larger amounts.
2) We wish to reward players who bet higher amounts and give them a proportionally greater chance at winning the raffle.

In light of these changes, we converted raffle-tickets which were not submitted to 10% of the leftover amount, so you had 1000 raffle tickets left after after the last draw, you now have 100 raffle tickets left. Had we not done this, this statistics would have been very badly skewed against newly earned raffle tickets. Given the new cutoff value of 100 Satoshi bets for raffle ticket bets, a conversion of 10% seemed the most fair and balanced one we could come up with.

Lastly, raffle ticket winners have until the next draw to claim their prize; after that they forfeit their right to the prize!

I'm actually saving up some of my tickets. With the current amount (as of the last post where it was calculated), I sit at ~3% of the pool. I am really debating just saving all instead -- a 97% chance of failure seems pretty high!

hyipexa has 4,773,800 rolls by now and thats around ~9.5k tickets and thats roughtly 9k tickets since she has submitted around 500 at the first month . She claimed few days ago that will submit around 80-90 % of her tickets

On the other hand , BTCevo has 1,748,013 rolls and that is ~3.5k tickets and he has never submitted any on the first month

If we combine both of them thats means they are getting 50 % of the entire pool

You have 1,546,530 which is ~3k tickets and you get around 10 % of the entire pool

We have another contender kiko9714 with 1,545,152 rolls and thats ~3k tickets as well (10 % of the pool as well )

Asritajudin with 1,142,463 which is ~2k tickets ( around 7 % of the pool )

Thats the rough calculation of the entire competitor with some winning chance that I could find. I took myself out since I wont be submitting any . If you think you got some luck with 10 % then go for it but be warn, hyipexa may submit her entire tickets and thats leave her to be on top notch

While all of this is true, she may still loose to someone else. Luck is a fickle companion. My advice would be don't worry about the statistics too much and just go for it. If you think a USD 150 Amazon gift certificate is a cool prize, enter a good portion of your tickets. If you think/hope that next months prize will be better, then don't.

Hello, we are currently working on many new things for everyone to enjoy, I wanted to just remind players that tomorrow is the monthly raffle drawing and to make sure you save the % of raffle tickets you want to submit. If you do not set the percentage and hit save then your raffle tickets will just carry over to next months raffle prize. Thank you and have a great week everyone.

Can you give a tip as to how many tickets are being submitted atm? I think having a view of "pending" would be great in the future, to know your chances of winning.

It looks like there will be a little more than 29000 raffle tickets submitted (unless people change their settings now).

Winner will be drawn at 00:00 GMT, so about 1.5 hours from now.

BTW, the process used to select the winning ticket will be transparent (ie: you'll be able to verify that we don't cheat) and we'll add such an indicator the site for next months raffle.
