221  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin investment, fulltime endeavor or side hustle? on: May 23, 2023, 10:09:08 AM
as a crypto trader sometimes, there's this question that usually comes to my mind and that is if there are people out there who are into Bitcoin investment fulltime and then if crypto currency paid me more than my current job, would I quit my job to go into Bitcoin fully?
It is obviously not a wise decision to quit your job if all you do is buy and store Bitcoins and wait for their price to increase, that is not going to give you constant earnings so that you can run your house and life with it but it is just that if the price goes up, you will be in profit. Only a person who is doing day trading should leave their job and only if they know they are earning enough from trading.

Someone who doesn't have good enough capital and doesn't buy and sell cryptocurrencies on a daily or hourly basis is not supposed to leave their job to become a full-time trader because only buying and holding Bitcoins or other cryptocurrencies won't give you enough profits.
222  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much does Bitcoin affect other cryptocurrency? on: May 22, 2023, 06:31:54 PM
This is a simple question and clear understanding with observation as we all believe in virtual money, which Bitcoin is the driving force of other cryptocurrency market, any moment Bitcoin dipped in the market, it affects other alt-coins instantly, so Bitcoin affect other alt-coins through price changes either negative or positive, Bitcoin is the reason why cryptocurrency market been active today in the cryptocurrency industries.
Simple question with a simple answer. Those who are here for a long time already knows the fact that you spit there. Not all believe in virtual money and those who believe, not all of them believe in crypto because they think it's only just a scam. I think there is still a little delay in bitcoin-altcoin synchronization. We can use this as an indication to do something which can help us to be profitable or avoid taking big risks.

Big credits to bitcoin because if not for it, there will also be no other cryptos but other cryptos do also contribute to attract the people in here because they have their own use case which are entirely different from bitcoin.
223  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't gamble if you don't have patience on: May 22, 2023, 03:44:40 PM
There is a saying that gambling is a matter of patience. He who cannot endure should stay away from gambling. Otherwise, the results will not be good at all. The gambler can gain a great advantage if he knows his own limits. Sometimes you can avoid big losses by reducing the amount of money you play. There are many different methods like this. However, in summary, we need to learn to be patient.
It is about being patient and also knowing how to manage ones money. For example, when I roll dices and my budget is relatively limited, let us say, 20$. I would not wager all of it at the same time in a X2. My session would the over before I reached the first 30 seconds of logged in.  Tongue

To be honest, I am not sure what has more weight over a good gambling session, we are talking about patience, but does patience even matter when one is having a very lucky day? That is another debate we could have, I guess.
Luck is an unexpected thing and it can occur anytime, so patience obviously plays a great role even during days when you are lucky. Let's take the example that you used to describe this. If you have a budget of $20 and you spend it all on a single bet with a 2x multiplier, you might lose the first bet because we all know that there is a house edge and luck in gambling plays a bit differently.

If you divide that budget into 20 bets with each bet being worth $1, you might end up getting something unexpected, but for that, you must be playing in a slot machine since you can't win a lot with a dice game.
224  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: May 21, 2023, 09:24:24 PM
When the Arab capital hits the transfer button for Newcastle United, it will bring the world's most expensive and best football players to this team. They could have done this from the first year, but they chose not to rush to build the team's chemistry. They have the opportunity to make better signings, I don't think they will sign Maguire. I agree with you on this. Gvardiol and Min Jae may be among the alternatives for them. After making a few transfers on defense and making a few good transfers on the offensive line, they will become a much better team and will be a continuity among the top four teams in the league.
With the Arab money we have changes in UEFA clubs which were surely not going to happen quickly because they use their money in right directions and change the soccer drastically now we have wins with money like we have in Manchester City and then PSG in France, so things are also going to change for the Newcastle United as well because when they bought there was promise this club could be in top ranks within years and now things are going to happen after just one season now they are in Champions League with in last season they were struggling in relegation zone.

Hopefully they will bring few quality players which will give better results in this season and surely things will be stayed at this level for few more years which will have good impact on English Premier League as well because recently we have Manchester United is also now under Arabs radar so wait how they will have done this all.
225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2.4% People from Bangladesh Hold Cryptocurrency on: May 21, 2023, 07:49:24 PM
Well its no suprise to me seeing that people in Bangladesh are continually using bitcoin despite its ban and restrictions in the nation, I that this is exactly the same feat that is occurring in my own nation NIGERIA, she is one of the most populous countries in world and the most in Africa I guess and it strength for the use of bitcoin has grown so fast and rapidly that bitcoin ATM are being install in some private business in some of the cities where its consumption is at its peak and despite this massive adoption and consumption of bitcoin, it is still declared illegal to transact bitcoin directly with your fiat bank but with all this recent development the government are seeing to it that they have a different perspective and are looking for way to actually understand the technology that behind bitcoin and crypto at large.
From countries like Bangladesh and Nigeria, it's not a surprise because people there are somewhat computer literates and they know how to find ways to bypass a restriction given online. Both of them are also not that wealthy so people were force to strive and return to cryptos even though it's risky only to have something to get.

In most countries I think the situation is also the same when it comes to banks. They won't also support crypto even though crypto on their country is already declared as legal. Banks still think that crypto is a threat to their business. They are not that open minded and think of opportunities it can bring to them once they adopt crypto.
226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: May 20, 2023, 09:30:26 PM
ChatGTP made to control people. Social media will soon be flooded with AI with an agenda. For gambling it can be very good since we don't care about agendas.
And what's the agenda? And how is ChatGPT made to control people? Your statements should be backed with proof or at least facts that should prove that they are not just bluffs and they have some reality in them. ChatGPT cannot control people, it's just a useful tool that people can use if they know and understand how it should be used.

Anything in the world can have both positive and negative effects based on how it is used, and if one doesn't know the right method of using something, they might harm themselves with it, but those who the right ways, that thing will never be harmful to them.
227  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: May 20, 2023, 08:48:20 PM
Monaco started to get complacent recently and we saw its reflection on their Lyon game today as well. The first half was nice for Monaco actually but their performance got much worse in the other half. This helped Lyon a lot to get ahead and have a decent goal gap with their opponent as well. This 3-1 victory is really important for Lyon because they are still in the fight for the fifth position to qualify for the ECL.

Lacazette was again one of the bests of the day as usual. Since the day he joined back Lyon it has been like he was born again. He is sharing the first position in top scorers with Mbappe - 26 goals. Despite his high effort they are still not fighting for the Champions League though. Therefore something needs to change for them.
I think Lyon deserves to join the UEFA Conference league. They played very good football in this match. Both Lyon and Lacazette reminded me of their old days. If they continue to play like this, they can finish the league in a better place next season. If Cherki had scored in the position before Lyon's second goal, it would have been the best goal of the French League 1 this season. It might even have been the best goal scored in all leagues. Cherki narrowly missed receiving the Puskas prize. He is one of Lyon's most notable players this season.
Even situation is unpredictable because Lyon were worst in early rounds which bring them down and now their performance is surely better, and they are trying their best for the Conference Cup, but it's never been easy with Lille and Rennes both are doing good and also fighting hard for this spot.

Rennes and Lille both are having some advantages which can help them for having better spot today if we have Lille as winner, or they are able to draw this match then surely things could be tough for the Lyon but in case of Marseille win then surely we can expect some better results for Lyon at the end of this season but right now giving prediction is not easy because all things surely going to happen on ground here just sitting and predicting is never been ideal.
228  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: May 19, 2023, 09:24:16 PM
The good thing about sports bets is that allow our skill to affect the results, something that is impossible on the majority of the games offered by the casinos, so if you are an expert on a particular sport and league then you can at least reduce a little bit the advantage the casino has over you, but if your skill is out of the ordinary then it is possible you could have what is needed to become a professional sport bettor, not exactly the easiest profession you can choose, but it is one that given the right set of skills can become a profitable occupation for a small minority of gamblers out there.
It is totally right that sports betting depends on our skills and experience and it is a part of gambling where the casino actually doesn't have an edge over us because the outcome is not based on a mathematical algorithm just like gambling games but it depends on the outcome of a sports event that is being carried out somewhere far away from the casino.

But, I still don't recommend anyone choosing sports betting as a professional career as it is still gambling, and we all know that there can always be two outcomes in gambling no matter how much our chances of winning are.
229  Economy / Gambling / Re: Slot Educational Parade on: May 19, 2023, 08:54:36 PM
Interesting, I don't know what their purpose is but it seems to be trying to provide education. Effective or not I think they are trying to give advice on how bad sloot gambling addiction. They will even fall into poverty if they continue to recover their losses.
I think the government should also start paying attention to this issue. Many sloot sites are freely created. It seems that I am also in the same country as the author of the topic. Even in my village the majority of adults with one child have played this.
well, as I said at the beginning of my reply that there are two thoughts between positive and negative thoughts. what you said about the parade might share educational knowledge about the risks of gambling or playing slots, that's positive thinking.
but on the other hand, those who realize that how to make a parade should not provide anything that stands out like using a motorbike will actually influence people who don't know anything to become curious to find out about gambling.

and I would agree more if the parade only provides education about the dangers of playing slots or gambling with some scary pictures.
What if they didn't have pictures but had more written text banners with more clear and more precise sentences about how bad gambling or slot machines can be in the long run? So that the readers would easily understand what the parade is all about and even those who might have the slightest chance of getting influenced negatively and starting gambling would understand that it isn't showing positive things about gambling.

That would obviously be more effective for the parade and its viewers as that would help them convey the message more conveniently and easily to the audience that they are targeting with their parade which they might fail in with this method.
230  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another side of Sports betting you may not know about on: May 19, 2023, 06:53:45 PM
I think the International Sports Federation knows about that. As long as the price to win the game exceeds the risk&bet amount, there would be no point in worrying.
Everyone has their own number. if that is a big game, the players know it will cost their own carrier
Players that willing to be part of rigging doesn't really care about that though indeed that it is their career that will be burn yet it is about how much they can get before the burning .
so caring is not the first priority but how much is involved.
lesson here is never bet in a game that is prone to being rigged and there are rumors that Basketball and boxing is mostly affected by this but of course there are other sports that has this now.
Almost every single sport is prone to match-fixing as such people will do it everywhere to fill their pockets. Football is the biggest sport in the world, and if things like these can happen in football, you can imagine that they can happen in any sport out there, it is just that some of it is done on a lower level while some is done on a bigger scale.

If you are a sports bettor, you can't just ignore all the sports that you have experienced since that will leave you with no option at all, so you are basically compelled to make bets and since you can't know about such things beforehand, you might face losses sometimes due to this.
231  Economy / Gambling / Re: Is this considered a safe practice on: May 19, 2023, 06:08:40 PM
If you talk about debit card I might consider but for credit card, it's a no go way.

I wouldn't risk giving out my credit card details to a gambling site because I'm not sure if the information will be encrypted or not.
Although I haven't seen anyone complained about their credit card details being stolen after exposing it to a gambling site that do encrypt the information they receive from their customers. But I'm still not going to risk it.
Even if it's not about credit card information, it's not a good idea in general to give away any kind of personal details to a casino that operates online and doesn't have any reputation or trust within the community. Doing that can put your data and information under risk since you are basically providing them the right to use your information that you've provided.

On the other hand, if a casino is trusted and has a good reputation, I don't see why I wouldn't trust them with my data, though by data I don't mean all my bank details but I mean anything that cannot be used against me.
232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: NFT Speculation on: May 18, 2023, 09:18:35 PM
so much NFT actually losing their value. heck even those NFT holds by the so called celebrities back then which make some headline in many media are now worth a dime, i'd say NFT art based are done for.
right now i see NFT that still have some utility like used for in game items and also key for like airdrops programs are the one that still have active trading volume the rest just tanks.

for anyone that wanna invest in NFT just rethink it twice, you could very well say you're burning your money away if you're investing in some random NFT that got no liquid whatsoever.
investing in meme coin is far better option at this point at least you got billions liquidity ready for you to dump your coin.
That is because their increase is only artificial because of the hype. Once the hype goes down, the price will also be dragged in the same direction and the recovery of them is now crucial. Only those selected NFTs which has a ground breaking fundamental are the ones that can survive but they are also struggling because NFTs are not hot as before.

The trend is now replaced with a new one. This is how crypto market works but if you already know the pattern, you can make a profit on them with taking less risk only. Meme coins are I think much worse than NFTs because almost all of them are the same but in NFTs there are still serious projects that can last a long time.
233  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: May 18, 2023, 08:31:23 PM
Pep Guardiola without much talks, Pep Guardiola occupies the top for me, he's always being exceptional, he is who he thinks he is. ( A genius ). Mikel Arteta lacks depth but taking those youngins this far in the league was wonderful. He's been the best manager arsenal have had since Wenger.
I'm so much impressed with Unai Emery, though he has experienced the Premier League already, he's taken Aston Villa from relegation fighters to European Position fighters. Though, I'm quite mind blown not to see Erik Ten Hag on the list. Congratulations to whoever wins.
Without any doubt Pep Guardiola is one of the best coach in the world with available sources which are surely also have good impact on any team's performance he has done amazing job, but Newcastle United is also done impressive under Eddie Howe because no one was expecting performance like this from them in this season while in last season they were struggling, but now they are in top four which is surely never been easy even things were also not favourable for them but still they achieve historic success.

Mikel Arteta still needs experience even his approach was also good but near the end they lost their momentum and lost title which is surely sad but still they have done good performance in first 33 weeks of this season and lead the league table without any problem.
234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the fate of BTC payment now on: May 18, 2023, 07:04:31 PM
Things are back to normal this morning,  you can now make transaction on the bitcoin network with $1 or $1.05 and within few seconds the transaction will go through, mind you, I don't know how long this will last because bitcoin Ordinals are not out of the woods yet.

And some centralised exchange are now planning on listing this so-called ordinal, this show that it is possible for new big amount of money to go into Ordinals again and this will cause another spike up in the transaction fee of Bitcoin, so do not feel comfortable right now thinking we are out of the woods.

Some people are talking about a separate bitcoin fork, i don't  know how this will work out but if this is going to work out then they should just proceed with the fork, anyone think that fork is the solution for this?
Really? Nice, now people will be doing business again using their bitcoin and this could help the price to recover but not the fees because I heard what the cause the fees to rise last time is that the network is being under attack or being spammed by someone else. I hope they will get caught if possible or get karma at least because they are destroying bitcoin. They cause so much hassle to us bitcoin users.

About the forkings, I think we already have done so many bitcoin forks in the past. Did they solve something? I doubt if they did but lets try again and see if these can separate that ordinal thing to the main chain and won't interrupt the happenings here.
235  Economy / Gambling / Re: How does AI gambling sound? on: May 17, 2023, 08:31:33 PM
Until May 23? that's impossible or it is April 23? which is also outdated. I am also a self learned programmer too which now I've got an idea how you deal it . For sure it was agent GPT your friend are using but the problem is how do I get the data.  Also regarding the data it is really best to get a realtime data if you are using ChatGPT AI because they dont have access on internet they are constantly feed with information so such predictions is difficult if there are problems occurred on that day
I have no idea where you can get that data, however there are websites out there which sell information about the stock markets which can be used to backtest your strategy or to create a trading bot, so I imagine there should be websites as well which could sell that data for sport events, data which you can later use to feed to an AI, however this can be a complex process as most algorithms will need the data to be preprocessed before the AI can understand it and make a model out of it.
The websites that sell that data for sports events which you are saying can be used for an AI model as its feed data, do those websites provide you with an algorithm that will automatically keep updating the data? If not, then it's useless since the data will be outdated too soon and the AI model will not be able to provide accurate results again.

As far as I know from what I've read, GPT-4 has access to the internet and provides responses using the up-to-date data available on the internet but I can't say if that is actually the case or if it can be used for predictions since I didn't use it myself.
236  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Things that still make feel awkward with some online casinos on: May 17, 2023, 03:54:32 PM
Why are some online gambling platforms having high withdrawal fee? I know Bitcoin recently has a high transaction fee but that's no more right now, some online casinos are still asking for 5$ per transaction when it should be 1$ or less.

Not just only Bitcoin withdrawal, even coins with very low transaction fee, isn't this robbery? If you just signed up on a centralized exchange, you can pretend as if you want to withdraw, to know how much the gas fee costs, but on online casino, you will see this only after you have enough wins or funds for withdrawal.
Well, this is why one must do their research and learn everything about a platform before using it, I didn't know that casinos don't let you know the withdrawal fees until you have enough money in your account to check that which shouldn't be the case and they should be transparent about it in front of the public and let them decide if they want to use the platform or not.

Anyway, some platforms are actually yet to make the necessary changes after the fees have become normal, just like Binance, it didn't change the withdrawal fees for Bitcoin until today and users were finding it pretty inconvenient.
237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bear Market Reaches $27605 - Will the Downtrend Continue?" on: May 17, 2023, 03:21:51 PM
Don't forget that we're not out of the bear season yet, even if bitcoin crosses $30,000, so it shouldn't be surprising to see a correction or a major decline. Let's not be too subjective and believe that bitcoin will never plummet again, the bear season is not over yet, plus the economic situation is still tough, anything can happen.
If you already know the price drop is an opportunity to accumulate and buy more, then you should expect bitcoin to fall again and fall more, rather than expect what is happening is fake and bitcoin will rise again soon.
We know once the bear was over once the BTC price returns to $69k again or increase more than that. Corrections doesn't only come during a bear but it can happen in any market conditions. Once we cross $30k, I don't think the price will correct because it already happened last time.

Another correction might happen again once we hit $35k or more. The definition of correction is only a small decline but a major decline is already a bear. I don't think it will happen as well because we are already at it. The best time to buy is when the price is low but many of us are still hoping that the price will rise more than the dips because increases are much rare.
238  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How do you decide on a buy price target? on: May 16, 2023, 05:33:00 PM
The best strategy is to wait for btc correction which will force many over confidence buyers to sell some coins and almost all altcoins will be down. now this is best opportunity to take entry but not use all fund because another btc down will drop altcoins more. I am just trading in gainers for 5 Minute trade which is high risky and i will not recommend to any one but i think buying any coin in Fomo is worst buying because if it's price down from here then tou have to wait long for it's price to be rise back to this stage
Those who buy from gainers are mainly those who FOMO, I don't know how one can be profitable in that, though I know it sometimes works out because when a coin is going up, you might see it before it has already reached the top and if you buy immediately and sell before it dips, you will be in profit but as you said, it is very risky.

I tried to do the same once with a token that was going straight up, I thought I can make use of the volatility and get some dollars and exit before it dips, and as soon as I bought, it started dipping right from that point and I lost a lot of money in that trade.
239  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 16, 2023, 04:12:23 PM
We often intend to play little and gamble small, but unfortunately that is often an illusion. If you like to gamble too much, you may end up betting larger amounts over time. The problem is also often that you no longer have the realization that you are gambling. You have a blur in your eyes and then you are only concerned with money. But gambling is not the way to stay safe, it would be better to stay away from it altogether.
People don't realize that they are getting addicted, it's true. I've seen it myself when some people start gambling initially, they say they are in total control and are not spending much, and when they start using a lot of money on gambling and if you tell them that you think they are getting addicted to it and they refuse and tell you there is nothing like that.

But sooner or later when they spend almost everything they have and have nothing left to spend but the urge doesn't end, that is when they realize that they have already become addicted and now are unable to get out of it.
240  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can Chat GTP destroy poker on-line gambling??? on: May 16, 2023, 02:35:20 PM
Despite how good the media was in making a concept or innovative idea known to the world the drawback of it is the spread of FUD news and the latest news I hate lately is how people ridiculously hype ChatGPT like it's the solution to every technical and non-technical activity.
Yes, there could be an AI that can be trained to end human online poker games but it's not developed and there's no way it will be developed since the government is planning to regulate the AI space.
Why would the government want to regulate AI developments and what would they get by doing that? Are they willing to read the prompts of people and see what they ask the models or do they want to see for what purpose the people will use the AI developments? Governments sometimes totally do not understand what they really want.

They obviously don't want to let people have any sort of power or ability to do things easily and want things to stay tough for the general public, that is what they do with cryptocurrencies as well, regulate or ban them so that people keep suffering due to their operating traditional financial institutions.
